The "Pro" And "Anti" Egypt Coup Crowds Now Gathering, In Two Dramatic Pictures

Tyler Durden's picture

If there was a day when the post-military coup situation in Egypt could come to an explosive culmination, today is the first such opportunity. The pro-Morsi, Muslim Brotherhood-led supporters, having regained their bearings after last week's tumultuous events in which they were forcibly removed from power, have regrouped and are organizing protest marches across various Egyptian cities. The problem is that so are the victorious anti-Morsi groups, which match the supportive rallies in size, and also have the support of the military.

Ahram reports:

Marches in Cairo, planned to kick off at 5pm on Sunday, will set out from Fatah Mosque in Cairo's Ramses district; the nearby Sayeda Zeinab Mosque; Mohandeseen district's Mostafa Mahmoud Square and Dawaran Shubra Square in the working-class Shubra Al-Kheima district towards Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo and the Ittihadiya presidential palace in Heliopolis - focal points of mass rallies that led to the overthrow of the Islamist president.

Anti-Morsi groups warn of a US-Brotherhood plot to "occupy" their protest venues - namely Tahrir Square - the cradle of the 2011 revolution.

In Egypt's second city of Alexandria, two marches are planned to converge at the Sidi Gaber Square - a site of many recent clashes.

Marches are scheduled towards flashpoint squares in the pivotal city of Suez, which will meet in Al-Arbaeen Square, and the Nile Delta city of Mahala at Al-Shoun Square.

Provincial towns in Upper Egypt and the Nile Delta will see mass rallies converge outside governors' offices. Rival demonstrations by the former president's Islamist backers – a strong force in Upper Egypt - are planned in the same cities, heightening fears of more violent showdowns.

Since president Morsi's ouster on Wednesday, street battles between rival factions have killed at least 37 people and injured more than 1,400.

The Muslim Brotherhood-led National Alliance in Support of Legitimacy has called for mass nationwide rallies on Sunday to defend Morsi's "constitutional legitimacy." Thousands of Morsi supporters have already been camping out at Rabaa Al-Adawiya Mosque in Cairo for over a week with plans to continue.

More pro-Morsi demonstrations are planned in other focal points in Cairo, inducing the Presidential Guard Building and Nahda Square near Cairo University - a scene of fierce clashes between rival camps last week.

Yet little does the combustible situation justice quite as effectively as the following two images from Al Jazeera, showing both the anti-Morsi demonstrations in Tahrir Square...

... and the pro-Morsi protest gathering in Nasr City.

I just wonder how many people protesting know what is REALLY going on.

I assume there is as much misinformation floating around Egypt as there is around here.. It helps to know for sure what you are putting your body in the line of harm for.

You know, there is definitely change in the air. Clearly this Morsi thing (and the military's role) was off-script. TPTB quickly sent in CIA thugs to destabilize what was a perfectly fine, legal and honorable tranfer of power away from a CIA dictator to the people. (By the way, that's very ordinary work for the secret agents. TPTB did this in Russia too. The Rothschilds also did this in the French revolution.)

Anyways TPTB know clearly that their paper money is failing. They are clear on this. There are no more assets to hypothecate easily ("peak paper").

The question is: how to subvert or co-op the coming upset in the USA. Europe is easy as it will be a very clear and simple "young people throwing shit through shop windows in London and Paris" thing, which is easily sated by more soccer, beer, weed, complicated subsidies and the promise of some more days off in summer.  The US will be complex.

They have already agreed to import Russian troops for peacekeeping in the US (no shit, google it).

When the smoke clears, there will be a "new thing." Is it: the full in-your-face OneWorld thing that TPTB masturbate to all the time? Or another subtle debt slavery zone masquerading as a "republic?" I think that the chance is slightly greater for the latter.

So in that view, there will be a "gold-backed" dollar (with a concomitant astonomical revaluing of the $ per Oz number). But don't forget, in the Bretton Woods system you could still debase a gold-"backed" currency. There is a simple yardstick for determining if you've just won a popular revolution against TPTB. Here it goes:

1. Am I allowed to transact in any currency I want? Or am I required to use a "backed" one?

2. Am I still required to pay property tax (i.e. do I still need to rent my own land)?

3. Is there an income tax?

You will know by those answers whether your revolution failed or succeeded.

Dude, I am more and more convinced that they will confiscate everyone's gold. they have to with the comex emptying out. Maybe that is why JPM just bought all that silver. They won't confiscate that, at least not before they confiscate the gold.

what makes you think they won't? Why not, they are spying on all of us all the time, printing up mega trillions just because they want to. If they feel the need is there, they will do it. the wrong thought is that something will hold them back. The only thing I don't think they can get away with in one fell swoop is to take away people's guns. they haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Here's what i don't understand. obama isn't saying anything even after a coup removed the democratically elected leader. How is that. Just becuase he sucks doesn't mean a mob can get the military to throw him out. Obama, who i voted for, is such a disappointment. He really is the ultimate puppet. i thought junior was but he is as bad. I guess no one gets into that position without being a puppet, which might be why they are so afraid of Hillary. they can't control her. Whether you like liberals or not, she is a bad ass mf.

I would say that she is not under the control as much as the others and is thus a bit of a wild card. Why would Obama have even ran if the elites were not afraid of her. He was a nobody with no credentials. They financed him to the hilt. As to Hillary, I don't necessarily love her but I will say I think she is the only politician out there who has enough support that they can't completely control her. Who else can get in without being bought one hundred percent? I don't know anyone. Any republican put up will be totally bought because they don't have her base of support. I would rather have somone who at least has some degree of control, not like obama or bush. I dont think they have anything on her either to use against her like i think they did with bush and obama.

What i said was she is less controlled by the elites, though she is one of them, and thus could maybe, potentially, do something out of the box, which someone like obama can not do. who knows what it would be. that's it.

If government can mandate that taxpayers must pay for birth control pills and abortions of others, then why shouldn't the government be forced to buy everyone a gun who can't afford a personal defense weapon?

Gun ownership is not only a personal choice, but one actually prescribed as a Constitutional right so it makes far more sense than paying for the elective consequences of orgasms.

If you like, we can also find doctors who can testify that gun ownership is medically necessary because it helps single mothers in bad neighborhoods sleep better at night.

"obama isn't saying anything even after a coup removed the democratically elected leader. How is that."

Easy. Obama supported the Islamic Morsi crony government. He's now waiting for his controller to issue him with a new Egypt policy. Remember: Obama's a socialist - a very nasty one - and socialists don't think for themselves.

Good decent people should be protected from socialism BY LAW.

Hillary Clinton has never succeeded in making one good law or, in my memory, anything else.  Her heroism on any score is limited to her laughable claim to have been underfire while landing in a helicopter in Bosnia. Her greatest campaign moment was crying for the cameras in New Hampshire.  Her adminstration of the State Department has been atrocious even aside from her Boss's craziness.  She stays married to a man the world knows is the biggest whore in politics.  She has won one general election in the safest of seats, the only general election ballot she has ever qualified for.

Name one thing Hillary Clinto has ever been the creator of that is worth having?

she was awesome in the state department. she was an extremely powerful senator. she knows the ins and outs of the government after 2 terms as clinton's wife who had her hands involved in everything. doesn't matter if you like her or not, she is an unbelievably powerful person who is totally qualified. TPTB are afraid of her since they can't control her to the extent they control people like obama and bush. They will do everything they can to keep her from winning but they will fail.

(2008 excerpt) ...bombshell from Jerry Zeifman, who supervised a much younger Hillary Clinton when she worked as a staffer for the Watergate committee:

‘A lifelong Democrat, Mr. Zeifman supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy’s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.’
Why?

“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.’

‘I have just seen Hillary Clinton and her former Yale law professor both in tears at a campaign rally here in my home state of Connecticut. Her tearful professor said how proud he was that his former student was likely to become our next President. Hillary responded in tears.’
‘My own reaction was of regret that, when I terminated her employment on the Nixon impeachment staff, I had not reported her unethical practices to the appropriate bar associations.’”

Obama could drive the beast through a day care center for homeless gay and lesbian infants...hammered and nothing would happen to him.

He could order a drone strike on Fox News and nothing would happen to him.

He could goose step to the podium of his next presser with his little Mao hat on and call everyone comrade and nothing would happen top him.

He could pull out a gold plated pistol shoot Ed Henry in the head and nothing would happen to him.

Obama could whip it out and start pissing on reporters and nothing would happen to him.

Even if it was true that Obama was born elsewhere, nothing will be done about it. In fact, I have believed from the beginning that it was a brilliant political trick to leave this issue hanging so they could point to birther's and call them kooks. So far it's worked perfectly. So keep up the birther stuff and they will just marginalize you more.

This is why military coups in a democracy is a bad idea. Especially when that same military had been violently repressing the Muslim Brotherhood for decades prior to Morsi winning the election.

military coups is a bad idea.  You don't suppose that the Egyptian military has some complete knowledge of the MBz and was seeing them up close and in action for the past coupla' years, esp. last 18 months or so?  After all, the Egyptian military is also in the manufacturing and other businesses on the PLA model.  And the MBz proved themselves to be bad for business.

more than one reason?  preponderance of reasons to take action?

Not too long ago, Syria and Egypt were the same country.  When the Egyptian Military heard they were going on jihad in Syria, this was their way of saying "No."  Something like the MB in Turkey put 330 of the highest of the Turkish military in prison.  They're still in prison.  So the Egyptian Army said no, they'd rather not spend their final days in prison.

Re. American aid/payoff will continue to flow because the consequences a closed canal and a new and invigorated southern front is not what the PTB wants right now.  The X-Sinai gas pipeline is probably undefendable now.  It just got blown up ... again.

Because MB tried to assassinate Nasser, then did manage to assassinate Anwar Sadat, which led to Hosni Mubarak, Sadat's hand-picked successor. MB has singlemindedly been at this game of another Caliphate, i.e., another Sunni empire like the old Ottoman Empire, since 1928.

The US has been backing this MB shit. I don't think it is going well. Moderate Muslims are finally standing up and saying no! to the vagina police.

Nice "on-switch" move to detract from the corruption deep within the US government.

Obama backed Morsi because he knew Morsi was expendable when US government corruption surfaced.

The real issued not reported by MSM is the criminal activity within the IRS, DHS and ICE.

And now the MSM is all over Egypt - like a fat tackling a free candy bar while Obama ducks responding to internal government crimes.

A democracy doesn't mean a guy gets to make himself dictator and abolish the other institutions. In a real democracy the people are the government, and always retain true sovereign powers, including the right to throw out a brain-damaged president when they get out of line. Politicians are not the government, they are just the peoples' employees selected to carry out the essential public functions.
