Ron Paul: "New Egyptian War: Americans Lose, Again"
Submitted by Ron Paul, via the Free Foundation blog,
Looking at the banners in the massive Egyptian protests last week, we saw many anti-American slogans. Likewise, the Muslim Brotherhood-led government that was deposed by the military last week was very critical of what it saw as US support for the coup. Why is it that all sides in this Egyptian civil war seem so angry with the United States? Because the United States has at one point or another supported each side, which means also that at some point the US has also opposed each side. It is the constant meddling in Egyptian affairs that has turned Egyptians against us, as we would resent foreign intervention in our own affairs.
For more than 30 years, since the US-brokered Camp David Accord between Israel and Egypt, the US supported Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak. Over that period the US sent more than $60 billion to prop up Mubarak and, importantly, to train and seek control over the Egyptian military. Those who opposed Mubarak’s unelected reign became more and more resentful of the US, which they rightly saw as aiding and abetting a dictator and denying them their political aspirations.
Then the US began providing assistance to groups seeking to overthrow Mubarak, which they did in 2011. The US continued funding the Egyptian military at that time, arguing that US aid was more critical than ever if we are to maintain influence. The US Administration demanded an election in Egypt after Mubarak’s overthrow and an election was held. Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood won a narrow victory. The US supported Morsi but kept funding the Egyptian military.
After a year of Morsi’s rule, Egyptians who did not approve of his government took to the streets to demand his removal from power. The US signaled to the Egyptian military that it would not oppose the removal of Morsi from power, and he was removed on July 3rd. With the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood-led government came the arrest of many politicians and the closure of many media outlets sympathetic to them. Then the US government warned the same Egyptian military that undermined democracy that it needed to restore democracy! Is it any wonder why Egyptians from all walks of life are united in their irritation with the United States?
Despite the Egyptian government being overthrown by a military coup, the Obama Administration will not utter the word “coup” because acknowledging reality would mean an end to US assistance to the Egyptian government and military. That cannot be allowed.
Instead, we see the same Obama administration that is on a worldwide manhunt for pro-transparency whistle-blower Edward Snowden demand that the Egyptian military exercise "political transparency" in its dealings with the ousted Muslim Brotherhood-led government.
So, successive US administrations over the decades have supported all sides in Egypt, from dictator to demonstrator to military. There is only one side that the US government has never supported: our side. The American side. It has never supported the side of the US taxpayers who resent being forced to fund a foreign dictatorship, a foreign military, and foreign protestors. It has never supported the side of the majority of Americans who do not wish to get involved in the confusing internal affairs of countries thousands of miles away. It has never supported the side of those of us concerned about blowback, which is the real threat to our national security. Unfortunately, US administrations continue to follow the same old failed policies and Obama is no different. More intervention, more foreign aid, more bullying, more empire.

War... horror.
And what humans will do to one another.... the mind reels.
Read on the extinction protocol that morsi-ites were throwing brotheroodites or the other way around, off tall buildings.....
Surreal, like a descent into a collective madness.... an old madness at that...

Do you still care? I mean you're avatar implies that you're descending from a place that looks like a sewer in many places and people live like rats. It's been thousands of years in that shithole and the new India just goes about its business and ignores the problems of old India. It is another example of how fucked up people can be and how stuck they live in a realm that is so abhorrently gross. Then I am supposed to give a fuck about the people there. Fuck, it will be a sewer in 200 years whether I support the kid there or not. Thank whoever for a global media that live streams the shit right into my living room. At least I know the extent of their hopelessness and can turn it off again.
India did not reach here, it was pushed/prodded/divided/sold-out/colonized and now totally skull fucked by mad making media.
And matters not which western nation you live in, your clean world is a carefully crafted LIE.
Perhaps you are far deeper asleep than you realize.
And yes, I do care.

I don't disagree with you. My "clean" world is a lie. Ignorance is bliss as they say... That's why I wonder if it makes sense .. to care? Might be healthier to stop caring and live a blissful life. Not like you or I "caring" makes one iota of difference anyway.
In my opinion there were only a handful of characters in the world who cared, who made an impression and who managed to make a change. One of those being of course Mr. Ghandi, another one Mr. Mandela. In hindsight though, what difference in the big scheme of things did these people make? Did they really leave a footprint? Are Indians better off today? Are South Africans better off today? I would discern that POV before making a blank statement.
So from that standpoint .. why should I care? Because ethics or morals shall dictate it so?
I’d prefer non-intervention in the affairs of the predominately 7th century Egypt. If they want sharia, why is it my problem?
But if Obama must intervene, couldn’t he just pick a side and stick with it? This switching back and forth isn’t helping anyone.
Each is free to feel what they wish. I'd think that defending truth/logic is ultimately the foundation upon which everything ultimately is derived. And, seeing as I don't like to be a hypocrite, I wish to NOT be as those whom I see as not following truth/logic.
That said, I completely understand what you're saying and I KNOW why you're saying it (well, I am pretty sure I know the reasoning).
Everyone of us will have to find a way through this madness. The antidote to madness is as diverse as there are people in the world. Find your own sanctuary and truth and embrace it for yourself (and not for others, lest one ends up dictating what others may or may not be).
The antidote to madness is easy - buy yourself a dog. Every day take your dog for a walk. That's pretty much it. Oh, and stop watching/reading MSM news.
Er.. Gandhi was NEVER a terrorist. Mandela was, and even in his dotage, here he is singing a song "Kill lots of white people": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcOXqFQw2hc
Well, when I'm washing my clothes in the Ohio river and watching charred corpses flow by, then ill agree.
We could have that here, soon though...so take heart.
See you at the river after the granny BBQ.....
Indy, see here we do not have chemtrails and neither have we had poison sold to us as food for the past 60 years.
Neither do we flouridate our water.
See, yours is an illusion of cleanliness and ours is an illusion of filth.
and they are indeed intended to meet in an ugly middle.
It is all about the purse-pective.
ori
Oh, but you do have Chemtrails. It's like farting in a minivan.
Take a big whiff.
...and believe me, brother, I have no beef with India, Indians or Indian culture at all. I admire much about them. (And no horrible pun intended) It was really some dark humor on my part..to point out that it may not be so funny soon, and not to pat ourselves on the back too hard.
I hear you Old chap, all of us, pretty much same boat.
walklure
is that you john wayne?
ever heard of detroit i believe it is in the usa.
plenty of places in the land of the free that are rougher and more rat infested than cairo
plenty of us places full of shit and dirt stinky as well dirt is dirt.
all human shit smells even yours when you use femine wipes you bitch.
The American people had a perfect opportunity to put this man in the oval office and save us from additional self-inflicted wounds through our imperialistic foreign policy. It would be nice if they remembered their failure the next time they get all worked up in partisan froth in the next election cycle. Unfortunately the electorate seems determined to repeat the same failed approach over and over again. Insanity.
'The American people had a perfect opportunity to put this man in the oval office' ... no, we only THINK we had a perfect opportunity to put this man in the oval office! it would never have been allowed.
Democracy is the theory that the people deserve to get exactly what they want.... And good and hard. -- H.L. Mencken
Remember their failure?... Heck I doubt they'll even remember his name.
To be sure even if he had won the nomination... in spite of the MSM information vacuum around his campaign where they often portrayed him as a 'quack'... he would have been up against practically insurmountable odds.
But the thought of RP in the bully pulpit right now with a big stick... Damn!
makes me wonder what bullshit we will have to endure next time around,
Christe/Bush - Rubio/Ryan -Perry?Palin
Clinton/Weaner - Bloomberg/Emanuel . who the fuck knows
But this is the illusion, that someone can "save" things. When people stop looking for gods and masters is when they can take full responsibility for themselves and it will be then when the (necessary for central power/control) megalomaniacs no longer are empowered (with more than the power that any single person should have).
ALL POWER CORRUPTS. It is beyond me as to why people continue to ignore this basic truth.
I suppose 2016 it'll be Hilliary Clinton vs Jeb Bush, just gets better.
If you got 1 up and 1 down arrows at this point, your point is, indeed, well taken. Some see some don't....some profit, some just ring their hands and rock back and forth.
2,000 years and it is still my god vs. your god, vs. their god. In 2,000 years not a word has been heard by any of these gods. Maybe if 'they' all keep trying, one time it will work. Maybe Goldman can provide a hint or two. Then again, it is all an invention by men, for men (and women too, but they get the short stick).
Bottom line....everything is a business in one way or the other for someone.
It's pretty tough keeping the illusion going .. apparently though in the ME there are people still willing to kill for it and if it happens, die in the process. Dumber than shit. I tune them out as much as I tune the other sects out as well. Life is too short to get caught up in that. I tried to make sense of it but it just won't compute. I could be an opportunist and make hay off other people's idiocy. Believe me, there are many who do just that. I'd rather find groups of like minded individuals who have concluded that all this spiritual nonsense is just a waste of time. True happiness comes from good food.
Good call. I'd further state that "deception" is at the core and that business is just a product of it. Nature is deceptive (it's a primary survival mechanism), and humans are OF nature (humans would state that it is humans that are at the pinnacle of nature, which would translate to humans being the most polished in the art of deception).
I just read a story on infowars were spectators dismembered and beheaded a referee at a soccer game. After thousands of years nothing much has changed. I hold out little hope for the human species
Apparently, said referee stabbed a player to death on the field instead of just red carding him. An eye for an eye means different things in different places.
Comment 2 makes Comment 1 all the more a valid point.
@ Dr. Engali...
Is fear of the same why central bankers don't seem to get out much?
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/07/07/brazil-soccer-referee-killed-dur...
BTW - SHOULD MAKE FOR GREAT VIEWING DURING THE 2016 OLYMPICS.
Decapititation is now an Olympic event?
Translation is a bitch! It was supposed to be the "DECATHLON!"
He did red card the player, who proceeded to beat the shit out of him. At which point he knifed the guy. The cops should have handled it, not the angry mob.
IT IS A FUCKING GAME !!!!!!! People shrug off casual murder like a fly got the swatter. The world needs to get grip on madness.
AND....this was in a 'Catholic'country with mostly 'Catholic" players (as usual)...so what, go to confession and all is better????
The POPE...another joke for the world to endure......Pass the plate and go home.
Didn't you hear? It's the religion of peace!
Catholicism? We are talking about a ref in Brazil being killed.
Although, to be fair, the ref murdered the player and was then murdered. Not my cup of tea, but it resembles justice more than anything we have got here in North America.
" IT IS A FUCKING GAME !!!!!!! "
But... at what point does that game turn into a matter of life and death when someone is beating you up (and might end up beating you to death)? Sometimes the setting/context can detract from that which is the REAL point.
Although I do not condone this (I don't DO "sports") I nevertheless feel that such violence wasn't CAUSED by the game, that such acts by such people would pretty much surface somewhere else- people who are balanced and feeling somewhat secure don't flare up and start beating and knifing people (in self-defense it's understandable).
There are tensions in the world and we're not wanting to face the origins of them (no, it's not really about anyone's "god," a "god" is just an EXCUSE to unload).
When people identify with their team an insult to their team becomes an insult to them and then the will kill others in the name of their team. Their team might be a sports team, a political party, a religion, an ethnic group or a brand of soap. Identification with form is the root of all evil.
nsfw - referee salaries for the next world cup just doubled (tripled?)
Human? Or humanoid? There is a difference.
Mongolian style. Nice. Worked for polo. Why not soccer. He'll, can you imagine how great Monday Night Football would be if they used the Bernanks noggin instead of pigskin? Put me down for fucking season tickets...I'd try out for kicker.
Whenever did bankers not support a war?
Both sides.
They're opportunists. Very crafty and deceitful. The craft of financial deceit has been perfected over the centuries.
On the one side you have humanoid waste shit for brains who clobber each other to death for whatever reason or philosphy they got brainwashed with.
On the other side you got humanoid opportunistic filth who carefully utilizes the aforementioned species and milks them dry again and again.
I don't know if it will ever change or stop. I'm at a point where I honestly don't give a fuck. This planet is doomed and the species of homo sapiens sapiens will not last forever. And that's probably a good thing. Maybe something smarter will have a chance to evolve here in a few million years or gets supplanted from another planet.
Earth, evolution, homo sapiens sapiens - BIG EPIC FAIL
I'm not aware of any better behaved population of organisms. ALL feed off of something. We have convinced ourselves that we're NOT OF nature, that we're not just another organism on the planet, so much so that we hide all of it through campaigns of ideology.
Highly practiced in the art of deception humans have become so deceptive that they struggle to even understand their own deceptions. Hell is surely in our heads...
My "plan" is to continue to live until I die. Anyone have a better "plan?" Is this not what just about everyone else is going by?
I worry that one can become sociopathic by understanding how things really are... and does the sociopath ever really know that he/she is sociopathic? Although I don't engage in spiritual or secular idealism I can very much understand the utility of those engagements.
Sanity for me is knowing that there's no such thing as a "solution." This allows me to view things are having no real beginning and no real end (though death sure looks like and end!). I've felt much better since giving up on the notion of "hope."
I think they the USA doesn't really have a side in any fight. It seems that the actual goal is for the world to be so unstable that the USA can pretend to lead the world.
Its just divide and conquer being used on everyone. Even within the US.
Such an ingenious/original plan! </sarc>
One has to wonder whether we could ever stop this without outright locking ourselves up or killing ourselves... It's kind of looking like it's a genetic thing and that we're not going to achieve a change in genetics that would end this. I raise animals and I'm constantly amazed at how each just automatically exhibits key traits.
Who knows, perhaps we're ultimately better off for it? 7+ billion humans; clearly we've cooperated (or is that "copulated"?) enough to multiply to such numbers. Are there more humans than snakes? Snakes do "conquer" before "divide."
The USA needs to go back to a more isolationist policy. Quit meddling and supporting the wrong sides. We have enough issues in our own country. We could spend more time going after finance criminals. Maybe even get our attorney general to wake up and do his job? Oh yeah, anybody seen corzine lately?
"Oh yeah, anybody seen corzine lately?"
Still lurking about. Word is the CME sent him what my Grandmother would have called a "strongly-worded letter" recently. Probably sent back "return to sender."
The USA is a nation state. It is an IDEA. And it leads to statism. I'd proffer that the USA just plain needs to stop being the USA (as should all other groups of people huddling behind these facades). For as you are able to set one "policy" you are able to set yet another policy, which might be in total contradiction to the former one (which, as the article points out, is EXACTLY what has been going on).
Ron Paul continues to be a voice of reason. It's too bad Americans are too deaf, distracted to the point of self destruction, or brainwashed to listen.
I often wonder what it will take until people say ENOUGH!
Oh look John Corzine is getting off scott free:
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/business/corzine_off_the_crook_t3VpDFmfEsx9Qd7VdtCLvM?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Business
Sigh...
I would have been moar shocked if he was charged.
OK, OK. I got it. ... Nope, I lost it again.
Meddling in foreign "states" or our own "states" is what the federal government does best.
"It can't happen here.."

"The South's gonna do it again..."

"I often wonder what it will take until people say ENOUGH!"
When the EBT cards stop working and not a minute sooner.
As long as they can go to the 7-11 and get cold beer, gas and watch the bitches of wherever the revolution will be on hold.
I thnk the analysis is that its three days within EBT cards stopping that shit goes absolutely haywire. When you have been hungry for more than two days straight your brain stops working properly and you go into a survival mode. It ain't gonna be pretty.
"Just us" served.

In the face of stinging truth like this, the control freaks have two choices: Abolish Interventionism (LMFAO, right?), or marginalize and persecute the truthsayers.
A: MOAR #2!
Old Boy Plenty Tough! Even if he does sound as if his testicles haven't dropped yet.
Not my fault joego1. I voted for him.
I love RP, but I call bullshit on this part...
The US signaled to the Egyptian military that it would not oppose the removal of Morsi from power
Did any of you see that signal?
Junk me for that? Come on, fucking asshole.
Last I read our Ambassador was telling the anti-MB folks to cool it and live with the "democratically elected" tyrant. And the bullshit MSM Mockingbird has been chirping the same tune ever sense.
So what was the fucking signal to let the tanks roll from our .gov? It didn't happen and POTUS was and is all about the M Bros.
Like I said, I like Ron Paul, I just think that part isn't correct.
Ron Paul's appeal was focused on the moral sphere of Liberty. He didn't appeal to the moral spheres that have much more emotion involved: Care, Fairness, Community, Authority, and Sanctity.
That;s because he discussed those spheres in the context of Liberty and few understood him.
The game continues to play on. No one knows anything other than the game. The game controls everything. If you speak out against the game you get ejected: refer to first two sentences.
The truth doesn't change the fact that we're just animals... rather than kill a little for ourselves each day to survive we allow others to do it at a larger scale so that we don't have to think about it on a personal level (and our cost is adherence to the "game."). The "game" gives us the authority to be OK with this setup: religions also speak of the game, but tend to rely on more antiquated symbols and words/phrases.
As it all boils down to survival I find it hard to admonish any particular practice that executes in order to achieve survival. 7+ billion humans on the planet! Surely on balance we've done a fairly good job of surviving. Why? And to what end? Maybe Carlin was right, maybe the primary function of humans was to free up plastic (or oil)?
RP tells the truth!
RP needs another 75 Yrs to accomplish something besides just talk and hyperbole. Just give him time, he WIll get there! He was in the Congress for a long time..no? He had his chance and the time for "plain ol Texas talk" is about over.
Sad but true. You send a virgin to reform the whorehouse, and what do you think will happen?
No, that would only benefit you,vc.
Continue to suffer with your own, it's more fun to watch.
Can't break the US military contractor stimulus funds. Tehy coup'd our jobs!
"Can't break the US military contractor stimulus funds. Tehy coup'd our jerbs!"
ftfy
Ron Paul is the only one telling the truth
+1 So let me get this straight. The legacy the Control Freaks in charge have passed to our children is 1) an economic, monetary and morally bankrupt nation, 2) gold from our vaults to eastern vaults, and 3) a foreign policy nightmare that would make Sauron look like a pussy. Thanks, assholes.
We are never more than one speech away from peace in our time ... but until we get that speech we have to keep killing each other.
It is standard political strategy to misdirect the attention of the badly governed away from domestic matters. The wholly unconstitutional criminal syndicate destroying our nation is the first problem we need to fix. Pay attention to our domestic problems. We need to get our own house in order. The Egyptians need to get their own house in order. We can't fix their problems. That our government was drawn into their affairs is abuse of our government. Americans aren't losing to Egypt, we are losing to the damn criminals that have taken over our legal system, our financial system and our government, at all levels. Uphold the constitution, enforce the rule of law and the rest will be corrected.
This is the irony whenever you hear USUK (through the IMF) pass on sanctimonious economic advice to the rest of the world. Isn't there a saying about hypocrites not criticizing others?
Obviously the Egyptians still need to fight it out. So let them. Maybe after years of blood shed and destruction they will be exhausted enough to give up and agree on something. Same goes for everywhere else. If the moo(!) .. slim bratha hood is of the conviction that their philosphy deserves a special place in a democratic parliament, than no reasonable argument is going to sway them otherwise. They are brainwashed. Unfortunately the other side of that equation is also brainwashed but just not as severe. Let 'em all go and meet at Allah-Who-Snackbar and duke it out.
Telling them that they've all been brainwashed and they're all drinking the same stupid koolaid doesn't work. Maybe if the military can restore order, there's a chance to visit the pyramids. That's all I really care about. Moo(!)...slims shouldn't be put in charge of that or anything else for that matter unless they can keep it together and at least become stupid sheep.
"It is standard political strategy to misdirect the attention of the badly governed away from domestic matters. The wholly unconstitutional criminal syndicate destroying our nation is the first problem we need to fix."
Good one! Ha ha.. it can be fixed! Knee-slapper!
Listen, I'd LOVE to believe this, but history is the guide and it clearly tells us that humans NEVER deviate from wishing for power. NEVER was there NOT a criminal syndicate operating and controlling the US (or any other govt). It's all a perspective: think that the native American Indians long for those good old days when they suffered slaughter from people that had no active criminal syndicates? (well, not like it's all so hot now...) "Crime" is just as nice word for violence/violation. Make no mistake about it, crime has and will continue to be a big component of States: pacification of guilt via flag-draping (or just as readily religions can perform the same only using other symbols- now days, however, with States being very powerful, religions piggy-back on States [Gott Mit Uns! I doubt that Hitler would have been as "successful" as he was if not for the Catholic church]).
Things are MORE OBVIOUS NOW because we're scrambling for resources: lands readily available for exploitation, such as the case in the early days of the American frontier, are a very rare thing. When things start getting tight the animals start picking on each other (as someone who raises animals I have seen this plenty of times- and for this reason I try to make sure that I provide the necessary resources).
When one's tribal leader doesn't come through with the promises of more resources (more "growth" etc) then political attacks are aplenty. I suppose that it's logical as assessed through the survival and propagation of a species: we only like to gussy it all up with slogans and feel-good themes in order to allows us to be able to hide away from our animal-ness.
That's the most compelling argument to convert to christianity that I've heard. I was thinking about using their tactics against them, but as you point out my crew would probably become just like them, without some objective standard of compassionate morality that defines CRIME.
They need smart people more than we need them; they don't like this. They can't become us, and we just keep popping up like weeds. The numbers and psyop is a feint. The viciousness is real. When it comes down to it, the survivors will be the ones who killed the most people most efficiently. Everything else is cosmetic.
They shut down all the nuclear power plants. Those would have been a problem for many millenia, with noone to manage them. QE7 is going to be a plague. BTW there never was a runaway population explosion.
Sleep well.
And now I take this moment to, yet again, tell every pussy who voted for Romney to set himself on fire. You took the cowards way out with your wasted vote for Romney. Next time, balls up like those of us who voted RP.
Only idots voted for Ron Paul in the Presidential election, when he was not even on the ballot........idiots who wanted to ensure that the Obowel Movement had a second term.
Don't get me wrong, I like Ron Paul, but many of his supporters are braindead morons.
Brain dead zombie of Upside Down World calls kettle black...
The braindead morons are the people who think that McCain or Romney would have been any different.
Demcracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on lunch. Rather, it should be a question on whether or not to preserve a particular culture. History provides examples, choices are obvious.
No doubt you have noticed an increase in the amount of wolves prowling about lately...
A Republic is a well armed sheep with his own opinions about the menu....or some such thing
All fine and dandy, but it still comes down to a need to eat. And as long as the underlying premise is that of perpetual growth then is is assured that those armed sheep WILL end up being squeezed for food (either for themselves or to BE food for something else).
I really DO like all the nice language with "republic" and whatnot, but these are all virtual things (as Frank Zappa put it: "They're words!"). We exist in a PHYSICAL world. All those fine words spoken by men walking this earth roughly 240 years ago were more about pumping up people to exploit a ripe environment (and to do by sharing as little as necessary- toss aside the natives; throw out the British). If we (300+ million) were to engage as people did back then we'd wipe everything out in a matter of no time; then what meaning of those precious words?
Hah that's funny. You actually believe there is a difference between the red and the blue team.
The difference is the democrats want a nanny-police state. The republicans want a police-nanny state.
It really is that, isn't it. It's a matter of "style!"
Silly us to delude ourselves into thinking that a govt could do anything other than to devolve into this...
I've never EVER met one. But, I've met a lot of neo-con fucksticks that can't articulate a coherent thought about anything that requires a level of awareness greater than grade 10 math.
Are we talking about what tenth-graders LEARN or what is supposed to be TAUGHT? I always thought that most folks making it to the tenth-grade had to have been exposed to the exponential function, yet even those making it to the highest rungs of the educational system appear clueless as to what they are... and we continue along trying to make sense of our world as we FAIL to understand that our entire structure is based on a total disregard of the exponential function (perpetual growth on a finite planet being mathematically impossible).
BTW - That someone cannot articulate some level of coherence isn't really the biggest problem- actions speak louder than words. Most that could be considered to be articulate might also be articulating for someone else, may be just a walking teleprompter... Again, actions speak louder than words. (one of my favorite songs is "When You Say Nothing at All"- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_You_Say_Nothing_at_All): and, as Frank Zappa would say: "They're [just] words!"
The "idots" (sic) have it figured out, but you my unlearned Ewe think we have a choice when the TPTB throw sock puppets at us each election. You actually think Romney, the progenitor of Obama care, was going to make it better? I bet you even think that neo-cons are real conservatives...and you call us "braindead morons."
Ron Paul is a Founding Father in spirit and belief.
The last dozen Red and Blue Presidents are the actual Founding Fathers of Idiocracy.
"Only idots voted for Ron Paul"
Well then I'm an idiot. Wrote him in, went home and slept like a baby. My conscience is clear. I didn't plan on voting at all but there was a local tax referendum that was up for vote and being there was going to be about 200-300 people voting in my township, I thought I should go and cast my NO vote on that. Oh yeah, and I voted no on retaining all the judges that were up for relection. All other boxes I left blank.
A Brazillion Beheading is good .... it helps people assuage their MSM media hyped guilt .... about their legitimate racial concerns !
If I didn't know better, I'd think the American taxpayer has been bribing Egypt to leave Israel alone. Good thing I know better.
wtf? Wonder why the us.gov just doesn't just make a few low fly overs and drop next months $85 billion in fresh FRN's on our Egyptian friends. Would that not make everybody HAPPY? Bernasty could even be a co-pilot. Like raining Monna from Heaven *(implied sarcasm) KEEP UP THE PRESSURE RON !!
US leading by example in the schoolyard. Beating up smaller kids and snooping in their bags, even his own friends bags.
US leading by example in the schoolyard. Beating up smaller kids and snooping in their bags, even his own friends bags.
Why is it that all sides in this Egyptian civil war seem so angry with the United States?
Why is it that few Americans have the necessary brains to make the connection between U.S. foreign affairs and the emerging marxist police state?
How unfair to the children. Americans foolishly think they know what communism is because they have been educated by communists.
I always thought that the communists routed money to the govt, not to banks. I suppose that people can redefine the meanings of any word they choose to, free speech and all that...
Banks, govts, whats the difference at this point?
the Obama Administration will not utter the word “coup” because acknowledging reality would mean an end to US assistance to the Egyptian government and military.
This, IMHO, is one of the key failings of western civilization. Since when does not saying something make it less true? Why is it if we just 'say' something or not say it, that trumps everything else? It truly is a fact the emperorsssss are naked and no one is prepared to say anything. Why are people so willing to ignore their own logic, voice, eyes, everything and latch onto the flimsiest of excuses?
I don't think Clinton was the start, but it certainly was the most brazen in recent history and marks a point when this idea really went full retard.

They did not utter "coup" because it has legal ramifications with it:
http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=222522
Denninger did a piece on it
We are forbidden by law from giving aid if we call it a coup. Not that the law has really stopped us before, but they do want to keep up appearances.
pods
They do not utter coup because they are afraid we might like one too.
i know the posts are way past this, but that's my point exactly. When did the law become an abstract concept that is strictly defined by specific words. When did society accept the word as being law and not the other way around?
Words define law, they define morality, they define people. Words do not create law, create morality or create people.
The idea that because a word is not spoken, then no law is broken is beyond absurd. Certainly there are more eloquent people than me to state this.
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it's a duck.
I fully agree, but with how things are today, as long as you don't ask that question, things keep on going status quo.
And there is nobody watching them to tell them that they are breaking the rules that they set up with our consent.
So, all we do is remove our consent.

Yeah, ALL problems started with <Blue/Red> POTUS <X>!
It's the fucking System! The same fucking System that promotes GROWTH above all else. And for those that failed simple math, it is NOT possible to have perpetual growth on a finite planet!
ALL WARS ARE ABOUT RESOURCES. People engage in violent acts in order to secure resources; they do so because people are OF nature and are subjected to nature's laws- people are animals.
"Western 'civilization'" is a concept, a picture based on the very best works of human deception. This is NOT to confuse other 'civilizations' as NOT being based on deception: ALL civilizations are comprised of humans, and, well, humans are deceptive...
If you're looking for a "point" that "marks" a turning you'll find, for Western Civilization, that 1971 was probably IT. Western Civilization's most powerful country defaulted that year and all of Western Civilization endorsed what was then to follow- yup, no longer a gold-standard, the USD would be henceforth COMPLETELY MADE UP- everyone approved. When symbols of wealth are so manipulated, and when symbols of wealth represent power, then, I'd suggest, that actions subsequent to that event are trivial by comparison and are more than likely to be perfectly traceable to that event. Oh yeah, at around this very same time Western Civilization's most powerful country was starting to turn in to a net importer of oil...
Since Nixon's time EVERYONE has acted in the cover-up. EVERYONE. It was the biggest lie and people will only believe the BIG LIES. When people start sniffing around the lies TPTB create a distraction large enough to shake people back into believing in the BIG LIES.
But the US has a history of meddling in Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc. etc. Just list all countries in the world.
It is simply part of the financial-industrial complex that eats taxpayers via constant war. A global Monroe doctrine on steroids.
I'm not so sure that it eats taxpayers so much as it feeds them. Look at the biggest taxpayers. Further, the spoils of war are also meant for obtaining crumbs to drop in order to keep the masses at home contained.
We can use phrases like "financial-industrial complex" and "Monroe Doctrine," and while they might show the mechanism for facilitating war, they fail to provide the underlying REASON. And THE primary reason for ALL wars is resources. I'd think that hardly a war would be fought if there were abundant resources.
We have become organisms utterly dependent upon fossil fuels (I must state that I absolutely find them essential, which is to say I don't somehow exempt myself from the words I write). It's a finite resource. The future forecast is: moar war...
**Breaking News**
John Corzine is found NOT GUILTY. Case is now CLOSED !
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/business/corzine_off_the_crook_t3VpDFmfEsx9...
I guess this is evidence of time travel. We all knew this was going to happen months ago. The Present just needed to catch up to the Future.
I like how Ron Paul can say pretty much the same type of stuff as Snowden without having to hide under a rock.
I feel the only reason this is true is because, if say Ron Paul disappeared overnight permanently, there would be a much larger awakening of the general public against corruption. Think with Snowden that, unfortunately, he would not be as soarly missed in the public eye because most people can't wrap their heads around what he released. Ron Paul at least can articulate verbage that the common person can understand. Just mho. But alas no one want to hear anything, use more credit cards, live beyond their means, have to many kids, only care when a school full of kids gets killed, etc. I sometimes become dumbfounded by the blatant misconceptions people have around almost all issues of modern life.
Public awakening? Bullshit.
The public ain't the problem.
Just how I worded my statement, but I agree, the problem lies strictly with all of the TPTB.
The problem lies in the concept of government.
It allows mankind's worst instincts to be forced upon others.
as opposed to anarchy, which achieves exactly the same but without any hope of justice; as its law of strongest and no justice exists EVEN IN NAME.
Certainly there would be problems if most of the population living under anarchy were cultural hunter-gatherers like you. Stealing property from other people is part and parcel of your behavior, much like other primates that don't have very well developed concepts of property.
As for your comment, the law of the strongest is currently the law of the government psychopaths. Too bad your hunter-gatherer mindset blinds you to the absolute disaster that government is and will always be.
Four hundred million deaths by government in the 20th century, several million made fabulously wealthy by stealing through government, and tens of trillions of wealth destroyed in wars by government.
You're really backing a horribly destructive unnecessary thing there statist.
My guess is that people view Mr. Paul as "Crazy Uncle Ron" and a politician to boot, therefore not to be believed. Snowden was just a worker at the NSA who hadn't going through years of WashingtonDeeCeeization and therefore is much more believable. Ron has correct theories, Snowden has facts to support it.
Ron Paul is WAY too close to TPTB for Them to call him a terrorist. He's got enough channels available that he could quite easily drop a LOT of names... TPTB just tolerate him and paint him as a quirky old nut...
RON PAUL!...Hey!...Where are you?!..
:P
Instead, we see the same Obama administration that is on a worldwide manhunt for pro-transparency whistle-blower Edward Snowden demand that the Egyptian military exercise "political transparency" in its dealings with the ousted Muslim Brotherhood-led government.
....and going back a bit further, how well did that work out for us when we assisted the Taliban in beating the Russians?
The ME is just one big snake pit....if you stick your hand in it the question is not whether you'll be bit, but how many times and by what type of snake.
Our entire foreign policy is for the benefit of a few special interest groups and is diametrically opposed to what is good for the average U.S. citizen.
"Our entire foreign policy is for the benefit of a few special interest groups and is diametrically opposed to what is good for the average U.S. citizen."
Ha, I posed this question to both liberal and conservative war supporters by simply asking how their lives have improved with pretty much non-stop war since 1989? Beyond that they say we are safe from another 9/11 they have no meat in their answer, I respond with if that's your belief that's fine, but why do we still have continual attacks made on us both nationally and internationally. Again blank stares and a lot of ummms.
A snake pit without exception.
On a brighter note, at least there is one person in our government who understands what is really going on and speaks his mind. It could be worse.
Controlled opposition. Its worse than you think.
Uncle Ernie:
I'm your wicked Uncle Ernie
I'm glad you won't see or hear me
As I fiddle about
Fiddle about
Fiddle about !
Your mother left me here to mind you
Now I'm doing what I want to
Fiddling about
Fiddling about
Fiddle about!
You know, Who.
Barack 'Pedo-bear' Obama.
What's NOT to like about clandestine CIA operations in your backyard??
Uncle Sam is a rogue terrorist, and has zero to do with anything that concerns USA citizens or "the will of the people."
The USA is a Fascist coup, nothing but bullshit predicated on more bullshit. The mafia is alive and entrenched in USA foreign policy.
It's dripping from the seams.
To quote a great American philosiphor "Mind your own business and you will be busy all the time" Hank Williams Jr.
Nice Snowden dig
Our system, based on the will of the people, is extinct. Now, the corporations own the politicians and the courts and whatever douchebag happens to be in office. Did we miss all the news stories about the coup in the USA?? Oh, yeah... the media belongs to the corporations too. The only slight difference is that the current douchebag happens to openly support radical islam and hates Americans... especially whites not on welfare... "Citizen's United", bros!!
I'm confused, is it some radical-Islam-loving Kenyan running things for radical Islamics? Or for Kenyans? How again does this strategy work out for the corporations who actually own everything (and are mostly stocked with white, wealthy men, the most powerful being progeny of 'old money)?
Again, I'm trying to figure how TPTB allowed a 1/2 white and 1/2 black man who was born in Kenya and who loves radical Islamics managed to become their mouthpiece (at the helm of the world's greatest, ever, power). Is BO smarter than all of them put together (like those cave-dwellers who managed to defeat a mega-billion-dollar defense system on 9/11/2001). Or, did TPTB make a big mistake (failed to do due diligence in their background checking)?
I'm white. Clearly I'm "oppressed." And add in that I'm male. The "oppression" is mounting. I'm not on "welfare," though it's not clear how anyone can be completely separated from direct benefits from govt (bankers are huge beneficiaries, yet I don't think that they are on "welfare.") And on top of it all, I'm older! Now then, if I really want to max it out I'll go sign up to be "saved" at the nearest Christian church (of which there are so many that it's hard to NOT find one).
There's no mystery to where our past policy came from. Our side? It's more like Israel's. Now the goal seems to cause regional war, and recent MENA actions support that theory.
War is about resources.
US interests are in keeping the oil flows flowing as fast as possible (so that TPTB can continue being in power). Israel will join in order to garner support of their needs to maintain control over precious water (http://mideastweb.org/westbankwater.htm): they get support for brutality based on lies for the sake of common plausible deniability- go ahead and see how well you can pull off a war in order to grab water from other human beings (kind of hard to get fired up over that). One could argue that Israel drives the bus because water is more essential to survival than oil; one could also argue that the US is driving the bus in order for TPTB to maintain Their survival. For both it's clearly tenuous. And, it probably doesn't really matter WHO is driving- we're signed up on the same bus! (and as long as one partakes of the things that help keep TPTB propped up then one is, by default, an accomplice [yeah, we're kind of shackled to the System, but there really isn't anything stopping us from kicking the monkeys off our backs, other than we are too addicted to their System; as for Israel, who knows how long they can fight fire with stolen water).
"....More intervention, more foreign aid, more bullying, more empire."
All I'm really looking for is more cowbell.
One has to be very slow and deliberate when making requests. "Cowbell" might have slipped by to be seen as a request for "cow," and knowing that real cream isn't what "they" deal in they processed it to mean "bull shit." So, no soup for you! Moar war for ALL!
The Best President America Never Had
JFK was the last true POTUS, the knuckle heads rule now.
+1
It's not really accurate to say they hate us. They hate the United State_ gubmint, same as many 'murkins who are paying attention as our tyrants destroy what's left of our free-enterprise economy while arming their minion enforcers in the Dept of Fatherland Tyranny and robbing & spying on their citizens.
When Ron Paul echoes our framers' vision that "It is our true intention to steer clear of entangling alliances with any portion of the foreign world" and "Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none," all the far left statists wearing elephant & jackass costumes pause briefly to brand him an "isolationist", then return to their regularly-scheduled, bi-partisan double-penetrating of Lady Liberty.
Our founders advocated a "non-interventionist" policy, which would promote universal goodwill, provide a good example for all nations and save billions of FeRNs. Stop meddling with, bribing and bullying other sovereign nations with force or FeRNs.
Just imagine the outcry here if any foreign power did to us any one of the laundry-list of evil things our gubmint does to them, such as routinely killing our citizens with drones or funneling them through armed checkpoints on the way to grocery shop with their BushBama cards.
Of course, our current bought-n-paid-for parasite class and their bankster cartel puppeteers will never end the "War on People," esoteric, ill-defined enemies that can never be defeated like "terror", drugs and poverty.
"They hate the United State_ gubmint"
No, it's US FOREIGN POLICY that "they" hate. The US govt could be fucked up in every other way (internally) but foreign policy and I seriously doubt that "they" would hate the "United State_ gubmint"
I'd proffer that "They" probably hate their own "gubmint" when it fucks around in their internal affairs as well. That's what "gubmints" do; those that don't like it ought to reconsider striving for a "small gubmint," as that's like asking to have just a little pregnancy...
Buried with a donkey
He's my favorite honkey!
I don't know what that means, but it's still fucking funny.

Video report - a top Muslim cleric warns of impending civil war in Egypt

This is the infamous Skinner Box experiement, where 2 rats are placed in an electrified box. The moment they experience pain, they start fighting, simply because they cannot attack the actual source of discomfort.
Politicians love this setup.
If Obama was in Egypt at the time of unrest all it would take to calm the crowd would be a single hanging.
