The rise of the Romanov dynasty... Now that is an interesting one.  You don't hear much about it, since it happened what, 400 years ago, and the (20th century) Romanovs compare favorably with Stalin, Trotsky, et al.

But I will just tell you it was nasty.  Killing a legitimate heir to the throne was... Frowned upon.  But they hung a kid on the Spasskiye Gate.  Claimed he was illegimate, an impostor, of course.

What a crap. The first Romanov had won the elections. What is so nasty about it? And how nice was Oliver Cromwell, for instance? What happened to King Charles I of England?

http://www.answers.com/topic/romanov-dynasty

Romanov fortunes turned only in 1605 when Tsar Boris died suddenly and the first False Dmitry assumed the throne. The status of the clan
fluctuated over the next few years as the throne was occupied first by Vasily Shuisky, the "Boyar Tsar," then by the second False Dmitry, who elevated Filaret to the rank of patriarch.

When finally an Assembly of the Land (Zemsky sobor) was summoned in 1613 to decide the question of the succession, numerous candidates were considered. Foreigners (like the son of the king of Poland or the younger brother of the king of Sweden) were quickly ruled out, though they had their advocates in the Assembly. Focus then turned to domestic candidates, and then in turn to Mikhail Romanov, the sixteen-year-old son of Filaret, who was elected tsar. Debate among historians has since ensued about the reasons for this seemingly unlikely choice. Some point to the kinship ties of the Romanovs with the old dynasty through Anastasia's marriage to Ivan the Terrible, or to the general popularity of the Yuriev clan during Ivan's violent reign. Others point to the fact that Mikhail Romanov was only sixteen and, according to some, of limited intelligence, indecisive, and sickly, and therefore presumably easily manipulated. Still others point to the Cossacks who surged into the Assembly of the Land during their deliberations and all but demanded that Mikhail be made tsar, evidently because of the close ties between the boy's father (Filaret) and the Cossack supporters of the second False Dmitry. A final and persuasive argument for the selection of Mikhail Romanov in 1613 may well be the fact that, in the previous generation, the Yuriev-Romanov clan had forged numerous marriage ties with many of the other boyar clans at court and therefore may have been seen by the largest number of boyars attending the Assembly of the Land as a candidate "of their own."

Funny how there has always been a church directly in Red Square.  The Russian Orthodox Church was complicit with Stalin and they STILL think of him as almost a saint. People like to think that Russian Communism was atheistic as a convenient opposite to themselves to bolster some other argument they might be having but it's nonsense.  If anything, being anything OTHER than Russian Orthodox Christian would cause you problems with housing, a job, university admission, etc. all operated by the state.  Sounds like a state religion to me.  Good Christians all around, looks like.

if the syrian government decided to use chemical weapons, rest assured it would be a professional job, and would have killed far more people.

rebels were caught with sarin in turkey, posted themselves killing rabbits with home made chemical weapons, etc (all easy to find online).

Also, last week, syrian officials busted a huge warehouse full of chemicals which, in my view, would have been the catalyst for a massive false flag needed to start a proper foreign war, since the bearded butchers the west arms and supports there, but use as an excuse to molest your children t rain stations are getting ( thankfully ) liquified in syria by the SAA.

For the last few years, the Russians have done a far better job at making their lies comport with the facts as far as they a known, something any liar knows is crucial to credibility.  There is a far greater chance of a Russian lie having a grain of truth in it than a U.S. lie for the last few decades.  Obama and Kerry are like Baghdad Bob.

Taken from the Wikipedia article on Tax in Russia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_Code_of_Russia

Personal income tax (PIT) is levied individually normally at 13 percent. There is no joint filing. Employers withhold income taxes, thus the taxpayers whose only taxable income was paid by employer do not need to file a tax return—except to claim a refund for itemized deductions. The most important deductions are for home purchase (once a life), and education and medical expenses. Deductions require documentation and are subject to limitations. Tax returns are mandatory for registered entrepreneurs and professionals (lawyers, notaries, etc.), sellers of personal assets and recipients of other income. Out of 10.4 million registered residents of Moscow, only 94 thousand filed tax 2006 returns and 105 thousand filed for 2007.[41] State pensions and alimony are normally not taxable, as well as bank interest (unless it exceeds the refinancing rate set by Central Bank of Russia).

Which country is more free?

I am not expert on Russia's tax code but if I had to guess, the relative simplicity of the tax code is probably directly proportional to how long it has been in existence.  The US tax code has been around FAR longer than "Russia" as a country\government\bureaucracy since the fall of the USSR.

I'm sure given adequate time, a litany of amendments, revisions, and contradictory interpretations will bloat their tax code to equal our own.

If you have any doubts Russians have bureaucracy in their DNA, read some of Gogol's stories.

The moral, if there is one, is that if you want an overgrown bureaucracy fresh, clean, and simple, you need a "forest fire" on a regular basis.   No tweaking or alterations will do, they'll just be another layer on top of the old rotting mess.

i'm really not a big fan of the positions i've been taking of late. i'd like to consider what i'm stating..."rhetorical" in nature. on the other hand i'm sure there are a lot of people who's job it is to pay the country's bills that really want to start dealing with the folks who do that kind of thing. it may seem odd that Brazil and Egypt are the types of countries that do that kind of thing...pay for things that Americans (like me!) look forward to having (cough, cough Social Security cough, cough)...but Brazil and Egypt are those types of countries. So are a lot of other countries actually. Mexico, Jamaica, Sierra Leone...the list really starts to get long after a (very short) while actually. eventually it includes every country on earth. maybe even a duchy or two...

The difference that it makes is that everything now is being questioned.  Hopefully it leads to some real change at some point, and not just more telepromter change.

From what I am seeing, its a bit of a stretch to see the self-involved white house being other than indifferent to world affairs--they live in their own invented reality.

That's far from true, the presidential intelligence briefs among other things contains information on how well a particular statement/policy was recieved or believed courtesy of the NSA's data collection. They monitor news threads, emails, phone conversations for this type of thing and report back to the top levels. They know how pissed off people are and that the cracks are showing but the bottom line is they MUST retain the illusion as long as possible, this entire constructed reality is based on it.

You think the CIA tells the POTUS the truth? lol... that's funny (ok, if you wrote a bit more you might assert the same thing.)  From what I've read, the daily briefing is filled with disinformation intended to generate executive decisions that support covert operations.

PDB, August 6, 2001: Bin Laden Determined to Attack US

Canadian Dirtlump's picture

Thinder whistle, regarding you saying the "deep shit moment" I'll throw in some color to show you how right you are. I'll save the linking, but it's all out there.

  • We know from the infamous wesely clark interview, and from a recent european documentary, that the attack on a sovereign syria was in the works years ago.
  • What was always forwarded by many people from the start was "this would be no libya" as russia has their sole naval port there, not to mention syria's relationship with Iran, and the fact that china (and in total over half of the world) supports Assad. This immediately tied the hands of the West on the "no fly zone front."
  • Assad's worst mistake was not gearing up hard from the start.
  • From a political standpoint we know France ( Hollande, Fabius ) and the UK ( Cameron, Hague ) have been main drivers for this.
  • We know the BenGhazi incident involved a bunch of snackbarists going rogue while the traitor chris stevens was meeting with a turkish diplomat trying to broker arms and terrorist transfer to incirlik, to fight in syria.
  • We know after this the Libyan weapons flow dramatically slowed down in favor of portals from Croatia / the Balkans.
  • We know Quatar has spent billions and Saudi Arabia has recently upped their support.
  • We know the CIA has blown millions, and been involved in training since day 1.
  • We know Erdogan from Turkey was flattered into believing that he would be the next ottoman empire ruler, and therefore used incirlik ( nato ) airbase and iskanderun turkey, tourism paradise as marshaling grounds and havens for foreign militant saudi aligned islamists looking for their next war.
  • So the question is, is this a neo colonial effort by France / England, or strategizing for gas lines through Syria. Answer, probably both.

FAST FORWARD TO MAY 2013

  • Assad, and the SAA got their fucking mojo back in a serious way and really began to take back the country.
  • June, the vitally important al qusayer falls - which is a mortal blow to the rebels, nato, al quaeda, because this was a command and control center, and a place to do business. At this point, in my view, is when the "OH SHIT" moment happened. Because at this point, short of direct military involvement, the snack bar posse essentialy is there to die a losing battle. Political fallout ensues.
  • The obese head of Quatar steps down, many say in shame over the failed waste of billions, and democratically elects his son king.
  • Turkey, in a raft of social unrest, boils over. Syria, and erdogan's support of this nonsense ( in part destroying turkish tourism, and having bearded butchers put up at 5 star hotels while nato pays the rack rate) played a part in this, make no mistake.
  • Egypt - the bespectacled simian Morsi attends an islamist rally calling for open jihad in syria in mid june. The army says "what the fuck" and the people say "hey obama your bitch is our dictator and he supports terrorism."
  • Cameron and Hollande are rabid, and are screaming at the US. Senile satanist JOhn Mccain is pictured on veteran's day with islamist kidnappers, Berry reluctantly goes out and talks red line nonsense. John Kerry ( bastard son of a horse, and frankenstein's monster ) screams for a no fly zone. The military brass tell him - hey fuck head, that would take a bunch of time, 700 sortis, alot of money, and some death, not to mention a political black eye, and we have no spare eyes.

So yes, this is the definition of an oh shit moment. Not only are we the bad guys, but we are the bad guys on fucking purpose. Now, grossly, we have the stage set for a major false flag, probably against israel needed to justify a direct western intervention. I can't see the west just walking away on ego alone, let alone the literal billions they just lit a match to. I 'pray I'm wrong.

Thanks for posting some background.

I have fallen pretty far down the rabbit hole so I know all of this but it helps some of those that may not know....it truly is the eye of the shitticane for the puppet US administration, their plan is competely fucked up and so many people know the truth know. I am really hoping some more people like Karen Hudes step forward so we can expose the people that are pulling the strings at the top rather then just have this administration replaced with another shitshow. I have also been expecting a major false flag ever since Assad and Hezbollah took back Al Qusayer.

The elite always have multiple objectives with any op.  Its amazing they can play people off each other, just by having them proclaim  "we went to Iraq for oil", and someone else says "No, the important thing was the expansion of the MIC".  Really, both are right, but have been convinced they have to pinpoint somehow the 'primary' motive.

Well, Freddie, I dunno about that...

Vladimir Putin:

"We will rub them out in the outhouse."

^--- His favorite snappy saying referring to his enemies, Putin has been a thug all of his life.  The Man Without a Face by Russian dissident Masha Gessen (2012) should give you some insight into Putin.  Lying does not bother him in the least.

Nor murder.  He has extensive experience in gratuitous violence: Beslan & the Moscow Theatre hostage crises could have been resolved without deaths.  Putin may have actually been resposible for the (Chechen blamed) apartment building explosions, killing many in Moscow and ratcheting up the anti-Chechen rhetoric (a great example of a "false flag" event).  Putin makes Obama's puny drone killings look like child's play.

Putin actually runs his country unlike Obama. Obama is just an actor playing a role.  Yes Putin is guilty of committing atrocities, but so are our leaders. Who's worse ? Knowingly starting wars on false pretenses that lasts 10 or more yrs and costs people their lives both civilian and military. Also costing us huge amounts of money which goes to multinationals and banks. Gulf of Tonkin incident never appened, WMDs were not there. Don't forget that the U.S. is supposed to be the good guy. unlike the communist, terrorist, dictator, ect.. run countries.

After recently watching a Kennedy documentary, I'd say he was probably the last "trusted" president. Now that was 20 years prior to my birth, but I think that situation was probably the ousting moment of our dark paths we currently are on. I never really looked much into that entire situation but wow, pretty much hook, line, and sinker of how a lot of stuff happens today over and over and over again. Documents missing, no answers, only hand picked people give unclear indecisive responses..... Speaking the other day with some people about things and the magnitude in which things have erupted to is mind blowing.....

Dark Legacy George Bush & JFK murder

http://www.rinf.tv/video/dark-legacy

A thoroughly documented criminal indictment establishing beyond a reasonable doubt the guilt of George H W Bush as a supervisor in the conspiracy to assassinate John Kennedy.
The evidence relies primarily on governement documents and public records. The center piece of the evidence is a memo entitled "Assassination of President John F. Kennedy", signed by J Edgar Hoover, head of the FBI, 5 days after the assassination, which names Bush as a supervisor of CIA-trained assassins.
