In all the to and fro about who is the nastiest psycho killer thug on the planet I suggest that we should all move MUCH further afield than just the US and Russia. A few folks like Pol Pot and Idi Amin come to mind immediately - and a very very long list could easily be constructed. And these are just the ones who have gained notariety for their corrupt souls and evil hearts. The history of mankind is written in the blood of innocents. While there may be a few decent people on this planet I would not be at all averse to seeing the whole slate wiped clean - myself included. George Orwell may have pointed out that people are pigs, but I say that pigs are nothing compared with the filth in the souls of most people, especially those who seek power over others.

lie? lie? no, no they've got it all wrong, the federal government of the united states doesn't lie...
what they do is tell whatever version of the semi, kinda, sorta, speculative and largely made up truth suits them best at that moment.
all that matters in this case is that Assad has chem and bio weapons (allegedly) which he could maybe, possibly use someday, therefor because some form of chemical agent was (allegedly) used during the course of the recent conflict (apparently large amounts of ammonia got sprayed and there were some breathing problems as a result), it all adds up to Assad unequivocally, irrefutably, beyond a shadow of any doubt committing acts of genocide using weapons of mass destruction...
which will in turn necessitate yet another kinetic military, humanitarian action, non war, war. which will kill thousands more Syrians in the process of protecting them from the evil Assad regime which used chem weapons (but not really) maybe, despite the UN and everybody else saying was the rebels who sprayed all that ammonia in the first place...
of course the most complex part of this not so truthful, matrix reality truth is that while the beneficiaries of US taxpayer dollars and aid in Syria and Libya are rebels, the very same people in say, Afghanistan or Iraq or Yemen are considered terrorists and are the ones we have spent a trillion dollars or so and thousands of lives trying to kill over the last decade plus.
so when Russia says Kerry and the US government is lying, they are partially right but what they may not realize is that Washington DC is literally just making this shit up as the go along...
Of course governments don't lie. The governments are not living organisms like those who exercise their power.

Look up "Bari Raid" on Wikipedia. Germans attacked US ships in the harbor of Bari, Italy. One of the ships had chemical weapons on it. Britain finally fessed up to the truth in 1986, 42 years later. Mustard gas victims were relabeled as burn victims.

More than 50 people were killed early on Monday during a sit-in in front of Egypt's Republican Guard headquarters. The sit-in was organized by Islamist supporters of ousted president Mohammad Mursi.
The Muslim Brotherhood claimed the army opened fire at the protesters while they were holding dawn prayers. The military denied this story, showing footage of armed gunmen mixed with protesters shooting at the armed forces.
The army said the Brotherhood’s claims were part of an Islamist media campaign to tarnish the respected military institution’s image.
