Snowden May Or May Not Have Accepted Venezuela Asylum Offer

Tyler Durden's picture

Just out:

Not a bad deal: beautiful sun, beautiful sand, beautiful women. Just bring lots of toilet paper.

* * *

Update: maybe not just yet:

And from Bloomberg:

  • KREMLIN SAYS HAS NO INFO ON SNOWDEN ACCEPTING VENEZUELAN ASYLU

It appears the confusion is due to a tweet by Russian politicians and head of the international affairs committee Alexey Pushkov, in which he said Snowden accepted asylum, only to have said tweet deleted moments later. Here is the tweet as it first appeared.

More from Sky News:

US intelligence whistleblower Edward Snowden has accepted an offer of political asylum from Venezuela, a Russian politician says.

In a tweet, the head of the Russian parliament's foreign affairs committee, Alexei Pushkov wrote: "Snowden has given his agreement to (Venezuelan President Nicolas) Maduro's offer of political asylum."

However the tweet was quickly removed from his account.

Snowden leaked details of a US intelligence programme used to monitor Internet activity and is on the run after espionage

charges were filed against him.

He is believed to have been in a transit zone in Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport since June 23 after he reportedly failed to board a flight to Cuba.

snowden is fake.  like assange was fake.  all designed to herd public opinion.   it might not make much sense, unless you release yourself from the assumption that the U.S. government is the puppetmaster, rather than just another puppet.

I agree Assange doesn't pass the 9/11 litmus test and I personally don't trust him but Snowden seems to be keeping it real for the moment. Snowden had no association to Wikileaks when he started but they seem to latch on pretty damn quickly once he showed his face, it is my guess is in order to have some measure of control on his leaks.  I don't see the benefit of awakening the masses to this massive domestic surveillance, forcing down Bolivia air force one and damaging the reputation of major IT companies like Apple, MS, Facefuck and Google causing people to drop their products.

Of course I could be wrong...just airing my thoughts.

UK Guardian pumping Edward Snowden, is a 'news source' of the Rothschilds, the wealthiest family in the world

« The Guardian is controlled by Guardian Media Group, whose chairman is Paul Myners, a past employee of N M Rothschild & Sons Limited. Guardian Media Group is owned by the Scott Trust, which became a limited private company in 2008, with all trustees becoming directors of the Scott Trust. Anthony Salz was appointed as a trustee of the Scott Trust in 2009; he is currently executive vice-chairman of the investment bank Rothschild. »

http://www.abeldanger.net/2011/02/wikileaks-rothschild-operation-swiss.html

---

The Rothschild family is estimated by mainstream sources (Forbes etc) to have a wealth in excess of US $ 400 billion ($.4 trillion !), but they spread it among numerous family members and thus can avoid the 'top billionaires' lists.

One of the oddest things the ultra-Zionist Rothschilds have done, is their funding, design and construction of the extremely spooky Israeli Supreme Court building with Masonic and pagan symbols ... Very creepy and satanic-seeming, has been covered by leading Israeli radical journalist Barry Chamish. Photos of that weird structure here -

..the 9/11 litmus test

9/11 is a potential stigma. Opinions are controversial and the topic is emotional. Much like homosexuality was during the last century. Best not to talk about it.

Why should Snowden distort his image with revelations about 9/11 that could potentially hurt his credibility? Most here knew about what Snowden made public but we had no clear evidence. Now the we know for sure and more importantly, the world knows.

Snowden is the real deal.

I agree 100% Snowden would make a mess of things by talking about it or expressing his opinions of it due to the forementioned stigma and the limited perceptions of the masses. I was merely pointing out that Assange is not to be trusted based on his 9/11 comments for it truly is a litmus test for us awakened folks.

"I'm constantly annoyed that people are distracted by false conspiracies such as 9/11, when all around we provide evidence of real conspiracies, for war or mass financial fraud." - Julian Assange

One of those statements I'd like to dig deeper on. Having tea with Assange at my mountain retreat would be a good idea. Weather is very nice this time of year. Endless views over sun drenched pastures and valleys. The only sounds are birds chirping and wind chimes. Not a soul to be heard or seen. I'd offer asylum to Snowden if he left a secure phone number.

Smacker, do you remember our last conversations?

the Austrian Prez made a point of noting - in a tiny little side-remark outside of the big, global media... that the plane was never searched. Then a "State Plane", in the same way as "State Ships", has no automatic right of passage (yes, a private vessel has more rights according International Law & various treaties), though it's quite protected from searches

An Austrian officer boarded the plane to talk to the pilot, and made the "official" remark of "not having seen anybody" (note: one glance, no opening of restroom door or similar things), which generated a statement by the Austrian Foreign Ministry in this vague direction, which was than promply misunderstood as "Austria certifies: no Snowden on board"

result: "US jets scrambling" and forcing FAB1 to land would have then looked extremely silly, besides the diplomatic breach of protocol. no repeat of a "Sigonella 1985 situation".

FAB1 continued it's flight, unsearched. IF Snowden was on board, then...

smacker's picture

I don't recall your previous comments about Austria. Nevertheless, I personally never saw Austria as one of the 'difficult' EU nations in that Bolivian plane fiasco. The countries were: Italy, Spain (declined a pit-stop on the Canaries), France and Portugal. All of which had previously approved his flightpath. If the flightpath took that plane over other EU countries, we can probably assume they too would have denied access to their airspace, after the Obama gang worked the phones.

A little known fact is that he eventually had another pit-stop in Forteleza/Brazil without incident, before going home to La Paz (according to Brazil TV Globo).

I think you are also alluding to the possibility that if the Austrians did NOT search the plane, then Obama would still not know if Snowden was on board. I have some doubts about this and who's to say the Austrians aren't lying to cover their ass?

You think that Snowden might already be in Latin America. Is that right? This is certainly possible but I wouldn't place a bet on it, unless there is some serious disinformation being spread around to protect his travel movements.

Methinks we will all know where he is within a coupla weeks...

OK ...and ?

[btw: That Spiegel long flightpath to Venezuela is probably possible in (say) a Russian A330 like the one they fly to Cuba, but it still goes far too close for comfort to US airspace. IMHO. Strange things might happen over the Atlantic which might then get blamed onto poor Russian aircraft maintenance etc. From a passenger safety viewpoint, the Eastern route via Vladivostok-Pacific is safer methinks.]

People care when they hear that their government is watching them and following, registering, categorizing and documenting each and every move they make and each and every opinion they hold.

That's when government becomes a tyranny. People start looking for ways out and will start to operate in the shadows. The US government has lost many citizens with this revelation. Give it some time to sink in.

I am wondering about this too. I am revisiting "1984" right now. People talk about how prescient the work was. I disagree. I think George saw what already was (lies, manipulation, propaganda on all sides, cognitive dissonance) and merely amped it up a level for the story, to make what already was, be more visible. Said another way, you and I are babes in the woods and it has always been this way. That does not mean we should not resist or that we should fall asleep, but nothing is different, only our awareness. That you and I thought anything else is a successful demonstration of our "totalization."

There have been no new releases of information from Snowden's stack since he arrived in Russia. The Russians have threatened him if he releases anything. What you've seen lately are contents of interviews he gave in the past, before his identity was publicly revealed.

There won't be any more from Snowden or the Guardian unless or until he manages to get out of Russia, which may be never - or unless Snowden himself decides to forfeit his life for the sake of the truth.

Now that air piracy is "on the table", the 'air space' route to get there is tricky.

Irish judiciary refuses arrest warrant for Snowden. Irish Minister for Justice panics and needing to do the biding of the US and Israel, grovels to try to do some damage limitation with the US (and his friends in Israel)...while overstepping his authority NOT TO INTERFER WITH THE JUDICIARY

http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/us-request-for-snowden-arres...

"Justice Minister Alan Shatter last night noted that the courts are independent, but said the ruling did not prevent a fresh application being made for an arrest warrant for Mr Snowden.

"The Irish and US authorities have remained in close contact about this matter and, for its part, the Government will take any action open to it to ensure that the State's obligations in relation to extradition arrangements are met," he said.

"It should be noted that what the court addressed was the issuing of an arrest warrant, rather than a determination as to whether an individual should or should not be extradited."

May Snowden be safe wherever he finds asylum. We are the ones that are in trouble. The insane in this country have taken over the asylum.

Here's hoping if Snowden lands in Venezuela that he never squeezes the Charmin or runs out of it!
