Matt Taibbi On The CNBC "Presstitutes"

The top definition of presstitute according to Urban Dictionary is:

1. presstitute
A member of the media who will alter their story and reporting based on financial interests or other ties with usually partisan individuals or groups.

It has become abundantly clear in recent years that the mainstream media can not be identified as anything other that a collective of mediocre, corporate/government ass-kissing presstitutes. Different media outlets cater to different special interests, but the end result is all the same. MSNBC for example is essentially a straight up PR outlet for the Democratic Party, while Fox News represents the neo-con arm of the Republican Party and the military-industrial complex generally.

CNBC has a special position in the presstitute media hierarchy. They basically defend Wall Street at all costs. The station represents the most important media gatekeeper for the financial oligarch, crony class.The following video is an interview on the daily political talk show Majority Report, hosted by Sam Seder. In this episode, he discusses with Matt Taibbi the recent appearance of Salon’s Alex Pareene on CNBC in which Maria Bartiromo unabashedly presstitutes herself out for Jaime Dimon and JP Morgan in an utterly embarrassing manner.

The clip is a little over 16 minutes, but well worth your time. Sam Seder is pretty hilarious and his rapport with Taibbi is excellent.

So here’s my question for Maria. If all that matters is the bottom line “ex-legal problems” then why did the Feds raid the Silk Road rather than allow them to “settle without admitting guilt?” After all they were a “cash generating machine” too. Take that one on Money Honey.

Great video and applies to present: Wayne LaPierre is an accessory to manslaughter. Grover Norquist is a sawed-off runt who does not hold elective office; I liked Norquist showing his coward side when he refused to respond to a question about serving as a lobbyist for Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. If you throw in Kibbe, Rush Limbaugh, the Koch Brothers, these men are unelected lackies. We need a vigilante group to throw them all down elevator shafts. Nobody hates fake conservatives and neocon cheerleaders more than me, but none of the people you mentioned work for the press. Rush has his own show and he doesn't work for or make regular appearances on FOX or MSNBC. Unelected lackies, lobbyists, shills, and cheerleaders are not the same thing as presstitutes.

Now if you want to talk about neocon apologists who make excuses for big government and excuses for bombing women in children, go right ahead. It's just that few, if any of these apologists actually work for the press.

Everyday on nightly news what the Dow and Nasq did is splashed across the screens of American Tv's. 90% of these Americans don't own stocks. If the Dow goes down 200 points its reported as a major crises but you hear nothing about 10,000 more families qualifiying for food stamps today.

The corporate/Wall St./Washington narrative is that they are all that matters in the world.

I didn't watch the video until this morning and it caused me to projectile vomit green goo and laugh at the same time.

I definitely have not gotten my occasional dose of mainstream idiocracy in a while. Maria is not smart or talented enough to qualify as a bonafide presstiture. There are far more cunning and convincing media whores than her. This piece leaves me no doubt that America has been living in a dark age for some time now. JPM has been been breaking the law for over 100 years, most notably by brokering grossly profitable yet ILLEGAL steel and arms deal with the French and British in the years immediately before the U.S. entered the war. A democratic President was then blackmailed into war and the sacrifice of 100,000 American lives to ensure collection of these debts.

To be fair Sam Seder is usually a presstitute too, for the democratic party. Always a bunch of logical fallacy manipulation techniqes flying around, making small factual twist that make the big difference, ad hominems and so on. (BTW, in this clip he suggested that JPM has admitted guilt in the settlement cases, which as far as I know is not correct.) No I'm not siding with the banksters, but let's keep it honest (especially while blaming others for their dishonesty).

The ass kissing/licking prostitutes are paid quite a bit less than CNBC's money hounds, which would you rather do? Have to suck the smelly genitals and excratory organs of people of the same and opposite sex, with disease and disgust always nauseating the senses, or get paid quite a bit more for figuratively doing this? BTW, who are those "models" in the ZH ads, have we seen any of them on the porn that is basically "free" but in many ways quite costly? I have a theory, the explosion of the internet and new "communication" technologies is sucking brain power out of the productive economy like never before and parallels the economic entropy and implosion we have experienced as a generation of voyeurs.

Presstitutes? Why do we always need to invent a new word for everything? When's the last time news reporters were known as the press anyway? The printing press is so 1900's.
