Someday, some cop or group of cops in DC, whether at the local or Federal level, will fuck up so badly in their response to normal, everyday blips and bumps of life (for instance, a bad driver with a kid in the car bumping a barrier and then driving away) that their over-the-top reactions will result in the whole town being Kremlinized.
Police checkpoints in and out of DC coming soon. Bet on it. And the only reason will be that a gaggle of fuckups knows of no other way to keep their jobs than to impose a police state on everyone else.
Checkpoints around DC, which already has some of the worst traffic in the nation, would impose a police state on the people most deserving of it -- the highly-paid parasites who work there.

which doesn't have the useless Fox News idiot's voiceover, you can see that there were already many cop cars around her before she backed into one of them and then pulled forward in an attempt to turn around, bumped the barrier in that attempt, then took off. You can hear what I believe is the cops shooting at her tires as it looks like she's about to get away.

I maintain my opinion since 13.35: this incident is more likely to be a case of wild mis-reporting from the outset, and overreaction by the security detail, while an emergency multi-agency drill was still ongoing in DC today. A panicked bad driver flees, and is shot dead by hyped up lawmen.

Three vehicles and a barricade directly in front of her, yet they leave her with 1) room to back up (cruiser behind her should have been up against her. 2) room to actually turn the car more than 180 degrees (cruiser to the left should have been up against her. At that point she has no where to go. Wonder how she got in that position in the first place.
They always leave you a way out so they can make you run to justify shooting you into swiss cheese.

Hell if she's from CT could be she got lost, tried to turn around, and was terrified by the guns pointing at her. At one point from watching the video it looks like the cops could have just shot out her tires.
The nation's capitol was shut down, causing worldwide consternation - all because a group of men with guns failed in their first response, and triggered an emergency.
They were close enough to see the driver was a young woman, with a very young child in the car. There's no evidence she was armed. Smashing the window and grabbing her would have ended the dispute quickly, relatively peacefully. Or shooting the tyres at point blank range.
Minimum force is most relevant when dealing with civilians, particularly those committing minor offenses - like a bad driver smashing into a barricade, for example.
Today's needless violence is an indictment of this Congress' warmongering at home, pitting person against person, creating a climate of fear and alarm.
I expect Obomba and the others to start making amends, soon.

It get's worse. The footage shown is of her car being pushed into a barricade AT THE CAPITOL building. It is being reported as being a ramming incident at Pennsylvania and 15th. Well, for anyone who lives in the area (like me) you'll notice the following:
1) There is no barricade at Penn. and 15th. There's an open CHECKPOINT with a hut and some walls, but no barricade to ram. It's open because government vehicles pass through the checkpoint to get to the White House.
2) The video is shot from a position on the West lawn of the Capitol, looking west. The barricade seen is at the start of the southern path leading to the Capitol on the west side. You can clearly see the monument in the roundabout with Maryland Av SW behind it. She drives around it and heads north on First, then drives around the other roundabout at the north end before continuing off on Northwest Dr (by the looks of things - she's curving from north to east at this point).
3) So the footage we have shows a black coupe being chased south on First, not being chased on Penn or 15th. She is then herded and shoved into the barricade at the foot of the Capitol where she is accosted by police openly carrying guns. In fact if you listen carefully you can hear her screaming at them and them at her. They clearly know at this point that there's a child in the car, because they are looking right in the windows. As she flees they open fire, with that knowledge.
4) At this point we have NO video of an incident at Penn and 15th.

Thanks. It's entirely possible that she made a move on the checkpoint on Penn and 15th, but if she did we have no footage of that - only the statements of police and media, none of which is backed up by evidence.
And now we find out that she's a black woman from CT. Unarmed, a dental hygenist, shot while leaving her vehicle.

There's video of a cop driving 50-60MPH down Pennsylvania avenue and crashing into the portable concrete barricades at that checkpoint. You can look at the guard station and barricades with google street view.
I've seen the video. My point is that the "barricade" in question at Penn and 15th is not a barricade but a checkpoint. There are concrete walls at the checkpoint but there's no reason for her to have rammed them when there's a big gap to drive straight onto the secure part of Penn. The only visual evidence we have of her hitting anything is of her being pushed into a barricade at the Capitol.

The Daily Mail provides important information missing from other reports. So, it looks like this is what happened. As I said above, there's a checkpoint at Penn and 15th. If you look at it on google street view, you'll see there's two walls there with a gap between them, and a further wall set back in line with the gap in the first layer of defensive walls. It looks like she drove through the gap but couldn't get past the second wall. She then reversed to leave and hit a secret service agent. She then fled down Penn, went south on First, was herded at First and Maryland and pushed into the barricade there, escaped north on First, and finally came to a halt at the Supreme Court.
"The pursuit began around 2.15pm when the car sped onto the driveway leading to the White House, over a set of lowered barricades.
When the driver couldn't get through a second barrier, she spun the car in the opposite direction, flipping a Secret Service officer over the hood of the car as she sped away, said B.J. Campbell, a visiting tourist from Portland, Oregon."

Another victim of unchecked excessive force which amounts to state brutality, far exceeding reasonable force. We have a very serious problem with legislators in particular failing to hold public employees to account, while frivilous claims are made against the police by anyone with enough money to intimidate and end awkward investigations, eg Woody Allen vs CT police who were forced to drop their investigation into his alleged paedophile behavior with the children he and Mia Farrow raised. One bit of good news: Allen has been prevented from contact with those children since 1992, mostly at their own request.

Today in DC was very stupid. Feinstein's own supporters shouted her down when she tried to defend the latest security crackdown. I wonder what will happen if this Administration and Congress in general try to excuse or justify today's events in DC without solid proof that the deceased young woman was a threat to national security (and even that pretext is wearing very thin, eg money for the bansksters and bombing the Middle East, but rising unemployment, food stamps etc in the USA).

god this is sickening. she "rammed" the barrier, pictures show no damage to her car. she had a child in the back of the car. and they shot at her several times then shot her up and killed her. she is unarmed.
