Same emotion here, stormsailor. I do believe that no man worthy of that name would shoot an unarmed mother in front of her child. We have a problem with mindless security detail behaving as if the man is merely an extension of his expensive weaponry, rather than a rational human being. The word nazi seems appropriate, something I never thought would occur in the USA, but it is happening in my lifetime.

...the plot thickens. Follow the money, the paper trail. Did she feel untouchable in DC for some reason, perhaps a connection 'high up' in the system? It's sounding like a B-rated political made for tv movie in that case.

But whatever her personal story, killing an unarmed teenage mother in front of her daughter when there were clearly peaceful means to subdue her is a damning indictment of the security detail involved, and the political climate whereby the Establishment in all its forms encourages fear, alarm, mistrust: attack first. Rationalise, don't reason. All bad, and today's DC drama is the result.

I thought 'Without Sanction's comment above was insightful.

Ain't no love nowhere for our elected officials. One senses...disappointment...among the citizenry that we didn't lose any of our tireless public servants. One used to be able to find that sort of sentiment just on ZH and a few other spots. Now, it's everywhere.

Thank goodness a well trained police force prevented an attack on the White House by a 34 year old woman armed with a baby.

Think of the damage that could have been done. A one year old disrupting plans for attacks on Syria, Iran, Spain, Greece and Mars.
