That is a very serious issue. A lot of police are or were in the their state National Guards with many more having been former police in the military branches and many were sent to Iraq and Afghanistan. They come back with a post-combat attitude into a militarized police force looking for terrorist ghosts behind every fence post.
Teeth cleaning sessions are going to get a lot more painful for DC Police in the coming years.

Looks to me that the driver came to a very gentle stop at this location and didn't "ram" the barricade. The official story is complete bullshit.

It reminded me of something out of a Benny Hill show when she was driving around the traffic circle with a cop car in hot pursuit. There was a second cop car which eventually was ahead of her car but he was trying to catch her from behind when all he had to do was apply the brakes.

They are probably taught on the second day of cop academy to never shoot at the engine or tires, because a bullet could easily bounce off the pavement and hit an officer or civilian.
On the other hand, probably most cop cars have stop stix in the trunk, and someone should have pulled some out, instead of everyone charging the car with gun drawn (to get on the highlight film).

Damn Damn Damn! I watched the al Hurra video that captured the start of the latest "incident". Sadly, horribly, it really does look like nothing more than a wrong turn that went bad. The lady is being chased by five cops cars (apparently after making a wrong turn---there is yet no visible damage on her car from ostensibly 'crashing' barricades), tries to pull a U-turn, and when confronted by the flashing lights of some cop cars coming at her at speed, tries to make a right turn, hitting some hard-to-see barricades on a road in front of the WH. She might have been going 3 mph when she "smashed" the barricades. She is surrounded by at least seven men with guns, some in civilian clothes, and she then backs up and tries to get away (who wouldn't?). They fire seven shots at her fleeing vehicle, hitting who knows what. She makes two loops of a rotary, and then grabs a road that happens to lead toward the Capitol.
As I noted, it has all the appearances of just a wrong turn that ended horribly. Of course the narrative will have her on medication, but that same statement would describe about 30% of Americans who are on TCAs or SSRIs, accounting for 80% of total worldwide legal "happy drug" sales.
What is shocking, and then again not so shocking, is the reaction across the web. A significant number, maybe even a majority of comments, are expressing disappointment that it wasn't some deliberate attempt to cause harm to our elected officials. The anger and resentment is palpable.
It really does look like the odds are being stacked that some elected official will buy it in the not so distant future, as the frustration will eventually evidence itself in such a manner. At that time, I believe the reaction will shock those in positions of power, as a weepy Pres or Congressperson will call for reflection and moments of silence, national reconciliation or whatever, and that will be met by parties and citizens proudly and purposely putting their front yard flags at full staff. Judging from the reactions I have been reading around the web today, I believe that is our future.
