America's Laziest Postman, Or What "Essential" Government Money Is Spent On
After seeing this, it may be no wonder the rest of the non-mail-providing-public in the US goes "postal."...
When this United States Postal Worker delivered a package to a home in LaGrange, Georgia recently, chances are she didn’t know she was being taped. If she had, she certainly would not have driven all the way across the front lawn to the door to deliver the small package.
According to resident Mark Anderson, who had installed a security camera to check on his disabled mother, the package in question weighed just two pounds, three ounces. “There was no meteorological” reason, he said, that she needed to get that close to his front door to deliver it.
Now that the video has more than half a million views on YouTube, Anderson is worried she might lose her job. “I don’t want someone to lose their job with the way things are these days, but she shouldn’t have done that,” he said.

The post lady needs some positive motivation, however.
The flip side is what is not mentioned here, is that her wage is likely to be so low she probably feels disenfranchised from the rest of society. Perhaps if immigrants had not been brought it to drive down wages.

I've got a USPS story almost as bad. I recently paid $1,100 for a USPS approved 16 slot box with 2 parcel boxes for one of my properties. It was pre-numbered for all of the units. The day I installed it, while I was gone, the mailman came by and, not liking the numbering system, took his red sharpie and "renumbered" each of the mailboxes. Needless to say I was absolutely pissed. I called the Post Office and chewed their arse out. I had half a mind to call the police and report it as vandalism. Sadly, I didn't want to take the risk of getting executed by a police officer for who knows what.
The budget for the Air Force Global Strike Command (those in charge of ALL the Air Force's Nuclear Weapons) is SMALLER than the amount of money the Postal Service LOSES EACH YEAR !!

I dropped a first class parcel at the PO on Saturday that cost me $2 for a first class parcel package that will likely be delivered today in GA from CT. That is a heck of a deal with tracking no less. Thank you USPS for doing an excellent job in 99% of the cases.
