S&P Futures Open Down As Friday's "Deal" Hope Fades
UDPATE: Futures bouncing a little off their opening lows (down 7)
Despite the US equity market's efficient "knowing better" on Friday, the total and utter lack of progress this weekend in any and all fiscal issues in Washington has seen the gains from Friday evaporate as the S&P 500 futures open down 10 points. We are sure the headline-driven ping-pong will continue to drive stocks though as there remains over 15 hours until the US day-session opens. Gold and FX markets are practically unchanged for now.

Freeze in place. What if companies could freeze their stock in place for a period of time. All buys/sells would be at that price. Would have a 30 day announcement period before execution. They could concentrate on business instead of market price and unfreeze when they were comfortable with outlook but not longer than x months. Yes, there a lots of issues but it seems reasonable. Would take shareholder involvement. musing

Bernake and the Fed will continue to print and buy up equities.
The Fed knows they can buy up everything until the US dollar crashes and burns. Then it's panic time.
why can't washington agree on who to sell out?

They want to wait until the US taxpayer really starts to feel the burn from the ass raping they're gonna get.
Don't worry folks, we've seen plenty examples of magic overnight levitation to open the market green. I would not be surprised to see the market ramp up 10 points when Europe opens at 4AM.

They'll keep borrowing until the market tells them no more. I will probably go close to the 17th and everyone will get scared and buckle in.
So what time will the inevitable $10 drop in gold happen today?
