It Is A Coup After All: State Department Suspending Bulk of Funding To Egypt
It would appear the US government, in all its shutdown might, has made a decision. The State Department has issued a statement that the US "wants to see Egypt succeed," via an "inclusive, democratically elected civilian government," but in the meantime will be "recalibrating assistance to Egypt to best advance US interests." A translation of the political double-speak - it's a coup and we won't be sending any military aid or cash directly to the country anymore...
The United States and Egypt have a longstanding partnership and many shared interests, including: promoting a stable, inclusive and prosperous Egypt; securing regional peace; and countering extremism. The United States wants to see Egypt succeed, and we believe the U.S.-Egypt partnership will be strongest when Egypt is represented by an inclusive, democratically elected civilian government based on the rule of law, fundamental freedoms and an open and competitive economy.
As a result of the review directed by President Obama, we have decided to maintain our relationship with the Egyptian government, while recalibrating our assistance to Egypt to best advance our interests. The United States will work with the interim Egyptian government and Congress to continue to provide support that directly benefits the Egyptian people in areas like health, education, and private sector development. We will continue assistance to help secure Egypt’s borders, counter terrorism and proliferation, and ensure security in the Sinai. We will continue to provide parts for U.S.-origin military equipment as well as military training and education.
We will, however, continue to hold the delivery of certain large-scale military systems and cash assistance to the government pending credible progress toward an inclusive, democratically elected civilian government through free and fair elections. The United States continues to support a democratic transition and oppose violence as a means of resolving differences within Egypt. We will continue to review the decisions regarding our assistance periodically and will continue to work with the interim government to help it move toward our shared goals in an atmosphere free of violence and intimidation.

And it turns out Egypt's new military dictator General Al-Sisi is Jewish, and his uncle was a big wheel in the earlier Israeli governments in the time of David Ben-Gurion
Will be very interesting in Egypt as the Muslim Brotherhood learns and start to digest, that the MB President Morsi was overthrown in a coup by a Jewish man whose mother was apparently inserted into Egypt to place a Mossad spy high up in Egyptian power circles ...
And that now Egypt is in a military dictatorship run by a Jewish Mossad man who hid his heritage
---
« General Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi, is a Jew. His mother, Malikah Titani, is a Moroccan Jew from Asefi, which makes al-Sisi a Jew and an automatic citizen of Israel. ...
« The problem is that al-Sisi has concealed his Jewish identity and Israeli connections from the Egyptian people…and destroyed their nascent democracy through deception and mass murder.
« An even bigger problem: al-Sisi is almost certainly a Mossad agent. ... No wonder the Israeli ambassador called al-Sisi "a national hero for all Jews." ...
« The Egyptian coup, especially its propaganda component, had all the earmarks of an Israeli black op ...
« Egypt … a permanent province of Greater Israel, ruled by a Jewish-Zionist thug who has appointed himself pharaoh, while hiding his real background and loyalties.
« Al-Sisi’s uncle, Uri Sibagh (sometimes spelled as Sabbagh) served in the Jewish Defense League (Hamagein) from 1948 to 1950, made his aliyah to Israel, and became a bigwig in Ben Gurion’s political party, serving as the secretary of the Israeli Labor Party in Beersheba from 1968 to 1981. Uri’s sister – al-Sisi’s mother – presumably emigrated to Egypt on a mission from the Mossad. That mission culminated when the Mossad overthrew President Morsi and installed its agent al-Sisi in the coup d’état of July 3rd, 2013. »

We only support the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda now. Obamas people.
I was against funding them until after I funded them.
Vote early and often.
Dickwad
My dear brother pansy... er alsissy... listen the fucking republicans won't negotiate with my non-negotiating position so there's no money to pay you guys after the allotment to Big Bird yesterday. But listen, when I reelect myself, I'll have more flexibility. So go easy on the goats and camels till later. Chow!
"Baldrick, I have a cunning plan. I will bankrupt the royal treasury and cause the serfs to revolt! I'll use those special papers my worthless father, the King, never used and take over."
"Hi, Vlad? Yeah, Egypt here. Can we talk?"
And in case everyone forgot that was the money Jimimy Carter used to buy peace with Isreal ..... wonder what will happen when the slush fund stops ?
This was exactly my thought. So we're going to give F-16's and tanks to the muslim fucking brotherhood, who IS at war with us, and not aid their current government, which will hopefully stomp those cocksuckers out of existence? Fuck you, obama.
Is there a chance you are confusing ancestry and religious belief?
A good deal of the world was something else before being given the 'option' to convert to Islam.
The option to convert to Islam and be met by 72 virgins and don't forget the
boys with alibaster skin in heaven is a very enticing prospect. I sure hope they
serve oyster stew in Islam heaven.
If Al-Sisi is an israeli spy (or puppet), then why would the U.S. cut off aid? maybe to give the false appearance of legitimacy... but that doesn't seem right.
I'm glad I visited the pyramids when I was a Yute...and rode a camel there.....doesn't seem as if will be able to do that again any time soon, safely at least.
[Sorry, i'm only thinking of myself and I know that's un-ZH'ish and very selfish]
Me too, and I spent 6 months in da Siani to boot. Sounds kind of dangerous now.
The Egyptian army is the only institution in that country that stands in the way of a complete and utter destructive civil war that will kill thousands of people.
Obama had to get the money to fund Al qaeda in Syria from somewhere.
President Bashar al-Assad's full interview with Der Spiegel
"Der Spiegel: The international community will do everything to prevent arming you."
"President Assad: What right do they have? We are a sovereign state, and we have the right to defend ourselves. We don’t occupy anybody’s land. Why isn’t the international community bothered when Israel gets all kinds of weapons? Why should Israel receive three submarines from Germany, despite the fact that it is an occupying power and still occupies our land? We have the right to arm ourselves in accordance with the U.N. charter. This is why the West isn’t objective in this position; it’s because of these double standards that we don’t trust the West."
"Der Spiegel: Aren’t you concerned that Israel will shell the new defense system as soon as it arrives from Moscow?"
"President Assad: In our case, and in this state of war, we don’t allow ourselves to feel fear. We have to do everything to be strong; and we shall not allow anyone to destroy our armaments and military equipment."
"Der Spiegel: In the past your rhetoric about Israel was more self-confident."
"President Assad: No, we need peace and stability in this region. We have always been aware of this. When it comes to revenge and reacting to a strike, we need to ask ourselves: where would that lead, particularly now that we are fighting al-Qaeda. We need to be careful not to ignite a new war."
But but but! Yesterday they said it was a baseless rumor!
Shit's gonna hit the fan even more as Egypt's economy goes kaboom.
Why dont they furlough the state deptartment in ite entirety, so we dont have to suffer though this utter nonsense.
Hopefully its because we are broke....
We're not broke. There's still plenty of blank checks left in the check book and ink in the printer.
The truth is, almost all this year's aid will be paid to the Egyptian gov't as planned.
"Reports that we are halting all military assistance to Egypt are false. We will announce the future of our assistance relationship with Egypt in the coming days, but as the president made clear at U.N. General Assembly, that assistance relationship will continue," said National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden.
The military will get its money. The spice must flow.
The U.S. provides Egypt with $1.5 billion a year in aid, $1.3 billion of which is military assistance. The rest is economic assistance. Some of it goes to the government and some to other groups. Only the money that goes to the government would be suspended.

"Only the money that goes to the government would be suspended."
And the military is different than the government?"
yes, they're how we govern everyone else
I am dumbfounded by the distinction, but yes, the military is not considered (by the U.S.) to be part of the Egyptian gov't in some weird budgetary sense.
The Saudis will help. The USA era of world dominance slowly daws to a close.....can we have a tax cut now?
..... the savings could help Rahm stem the out of control violence in ChiTown . .. just a thought.
The Criminals had to pull the 376 Million Kerry gave the FSA from somewhere.
Coup there, coup here, by another name.
Fundamental Transformation?!?
New parlance for Coup in the english language...
DaddyO
shifting alliance to Iran? hmm, pretty weird...
Not really. When you consider Iranian-born Valerie Jarrett is the Senior Adviser to the TOTUS, it all makes more sense. Jarrett's father was a communist and contributor to the same marxist broadsheet as Frank Marshall Davis. They were associates. Valerie's job is to act as a Control for TOTUS.
GOOD. cut ALL foreign aid to EVERYONE
but then none of our restaurants will have work hands
how will Bel Air get its beds made?
our crops, how will they be picked?
LOL
That will be covered in the new Immigration Bill being quietly worked while everyone's attention is diverted by the shutdown/debt default...
DaddyO
It isn't really aid to Egypt -- it's welfare for defense contractors. The pain will be felt next year at Lockheed and Raytheon, not in Tahrir Square.
DOUBLE GOOD.
Very interesting analysis also here:

Do not worry, it is in English.
"Throw out my fellow members of the Muslim Brotherhood, will they? Well, I am the HMIC of the US. I'll show them."
Why the fuck are we giving money to other countries? We are fucking broke, we are in debt up to our damn eye balls and we just keep giving money away...fuck this shit. Someone let me of this merry go round I think i'm going to puke..
Now just do the same with Israel and call it even, and the Treasury will be dollars ahead.
Amen (or whatever an atheist would say).
The only real question is WHY the US continues to fund these people. Any of them in the ME? The US is technically insolvent, yet prints enough greenbacks to send billions a year to countries that hate us. It's insane. Where do we get off this merry-go-round?
And the Egyptian government officials citing budgetary constraints ban all American vessels from the Suez Canal.
I like that idea. No Suez access means no bathtub navy for Obama to play with...
All Egypt has to do is threaten to attack Israel and they will get their cash-- I mean bribe... Either that or take a couple hundred Army troops, dress them in civilian clothes, have them call themselves rebels, and let the CIA give them training, weapons and piles of cash...
egypt doesnt need u.s. money anymore. does our govt get it yet? its called LOSING SPHERES OF INFLUENCE. lost latin america. losing asia, and losing the middle east. deperate to stay relevant in africa, the last frontier.
twilight for the empire.
It's definitely all insane but dumping over Egypt twice in 2+ years will only send them into the Russian or Chinese camp. The new government is making the world safer for civilization and Americans (whether they comprehend it or not).
Obama's boys are not noted for their realism in the field of foreign affairs. Airheads with their noses in the air, WHAT A COMBO. If Bin Laden (RIP) got elected, we should support him ? Sounds pretty California dreamin' to me. SOS Kerry must have input on this one.
I say Let's get General al Sisi to come run our needy country. A LEADER. Didn't that report this week show that Americans are below average in intelligence? At least in math, science, literacy and elections.
That's right boys and girls, cash for the Muslim Brotherhood is kosher... but no cash for the military that, under Mubarak, largely kept the peace and kept the radical jihadists under control.
You can only grab the jacks while the ball is in the air.
Does this mean they will unblock the roads and parcs again?
few in the u.s of a. realize that what is going on in Egypt is the most peaceful reset of the democratic process the world has seen. the musly bros' leaders were on their way to eliminating the fledgling democracy in Egypt by rewriting the rules. when the masses rose up yet again (including a number of the brotherhood who saw their 'leaders' for what they were), it was the army who came to the forefront, listened to what Egyptians wanted, and, for the second time, said STOP OR DIE to the next dictator wantabees.
:)
Nobody respects the USA anymore. If I was Egypt I would discontinue allowing US naval ships to use the Suez Canal and I would discontinue relations with Israel, although that would only lead Obama to start bombing Egypt. It would be interesting to see what excuse Obama would come up with for doing it though.
Says we will "hold the delivery of certain large-scale military systems..."?
Does that mean defense contractors will still get paid to build but the systems will be held?
As noted earlier most of the aid must go to US military purchases, welfare handouts to defense industry and job loses.
Snap
The aid will resume. For "national security" reasons it will be kept secret. The Adminstration will boast about having cut the aid. The Egyptian generals will be expected to do a "job" for the US. Arm Al Qaeda in Syria? A terrorist bombing in Iran? A kidnapping in Libya or Somalia? Assassination in Kenya? Pressure the Palestinians?
Follow the money. The biggest beneficiaries of US aid are weapons manufacturers. 1/3rd of all Apache helicopters are sold to Egypt thanks largely to US aid. Its a great way to funnel taxpayers' money into the hands of the military-industrial complex.
This State Dept statement was dated 10-09-13. How many $$$ did Kerry slip under the table to the generals on 10-08-13?
'a "thousand and one nights" quietly encroaches upon the`new millennium pyramid-zone of discontent'... whilst, the evil temptress `Jinni', unveils her`pandora box'-- naught through a lamp or bottled vessal but rather a diaspora of secular arabian nights filled with the sweet death aroma of a 'mustard-sarin-phosphorous-plutonium, and anthrax... a,`CrystalMeth Persuasion'-- the solemn filled nights glazed over by a waxing aura of many a moribund bedouin's destitution... married to a fossilized morror,' coup'd`etat, du`jour'-- alas, all given immortality from the Christian's`west... begotten'd by time itself, as the future melds into the past, the presence of a 'divine`intervention' feels more the reincarnation of religion itself in the throes of a deja`vu and Allah's nightmarish hell in the 'Land-of-the-Pharahos', where familiarity becomes our space, parceled by time in an inert consciousness of nothingness-- were it not for mankinds' creator'

But the money to the Satanic Tribe in Israel continues to flow!
The US government's loan guarantees to "Israel" are quickly followed by loan forgiveness.
U.S. Government Pledges $3.8 Billion In Loan Guarantees To Israel
"The U.S. Congress recently approved a guaranteed $30 billion in aid to Israel over the next 10 years. This aid, unlike assistance provided by the U.S. government to other countries, has no requirements, and is provided without stipulation as to how it should be used."
"Curtiss writes, 'Most U.S. loans to Israel are forgiven, and many were made with the explicit understanding that they would be forgiven before Israel was required to repay them. By disguising as loans what in fact were grants, cooperating members of Congress exempted Israel from the U.S. oversight that would have accompanied grants.'"
Israel seeks $5b US loan guarantees for advanced weaponry - report
globes.co.il/serveen/globes/docview.asp?did=1000853518&fid=1725
"Israel's Defense Ministry will ask the US to guarantee $5 billion in bridge loans that Israel plans taking from US commercial banks to finance procurement of advanced weapons systems that the Obama administration is offering Israel including the Osprey aircraft-helicopter and smart munitions. In the long term procurement will be financed by US military aid, and the loans will bridge the intermediary period in which annual US military aid to Israel is $3.1 billion not enough to finance the new weaponry, US 'Defense News' reports."
Rand Paul Voted to Extend $9 Billion in Loan Guarantees to Israel
"Known in the Senate as S.2165, the measure guaranteed an astonishing $9 billion dollars in loans to Israel (plus all fees and interest!) in addition to giving 'military assistance- stockpiles of defense articles' valued at $200 million for 2013 and $200 million for 2014."
"Boxer praised passage of the bill, stating 'I am so pleased that the Senate moved quickly to pass this important bill, which reaffirms the important bond between the United States and Israel and helps ensure that Israel has the necessary tools to defend itself in this time of dynamic change in the Middle East.'"
So I'm reading this State.gov screed, when I come across.....
"...inclusive, democratically elected civilian government based on the rule of law, fundamental freedoms and an open and competitive economy."
Gosh, when do you suppose Emperor Teleprompter will allow those concepts here? The debt serfs are growing curious.
