It Is A Coup After All: State Department Suspending Bulk of Funding To Egypt

Tyler Durden's picture

It would appear the US government, in all its shutdown might, has made a decision. The State Department has issued a statement that the US "wants to see Egypt succeed," via an "inclusive, democratically elected civilian government," but in the meantime will be "recalibrating assistance to Egypt to best advance US interests." A translation of the political double-speak - it's a coup and we won't be sending any military aid or cash directly to the country anymore...

Via State.gov,

The United States and Egypt have a longstanding partnership and many shared interests, including: promoting a stable, inclusive and prosperous Egypt; securing regional peace; and countering extremism. The United States wants to see Egypt succeed, and we believe the U.S.-Egypt partnership will be strongest when Egypt is represented by an inclusive, democratically elected civilian government based on the rule of law, fundamental freedoms and an open and competitive economy.

As a result of the review directed by President Obama, we have decided to maintain our relationship with the Egyptian government, while recalibrating our assistance to Egypt to best advance our interests. The United States will work with the interim Egyptian government and Congress to continue to provide support that directly benefits the Egyptian people in areas like health, education, and private sector development. We will continue assistance to help secure Egypt’s borders, counter terrorism and proliferation, and ensure security in the Sinai. We will continue to provide parts for U.S.-origin military equipment as well as military training and education.

We will, however, continue to hold the delivery of certain large-scale military systems and cash assistance to the government pending credible progress toward an inclusive, democratically elected civilian government through free and fair elections. The United States continues to support a democratic transition and oppose violence as a means of resolving differences within Egypt. We will continue to review the decisions regarding our assistance periodically and will continue to work with the interim government to help it move toward our shared goals in an atmosphere free of violence and intimidation.

And it turns out Egypt's new military dictator General Al-Sisi is Jewish, and his uncle was a big wheel in the earlier Israeli governments in the time of David Ben-Gurion

Will be very interesting in Egypt as the Muslim Brotherhood learns and start to digest, that the MB President Morsi was overthrown in a coup by a Jewish man whose mother was apparently inserted into Egypt to place a Mossad spy high up in Egyptian power circles ...

And that now Egypt is in a military dictatorship run by a Jewish Mossad man who hid his heritage

---

« General Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi, is a Jew. His mother, Malikah Titani, is a Moroccan Jew from Asefi, which makes al-Sisi a Jew and an automatic citizen of Israel. ...

« The problem is that al-Sisi has concealed his Jewish identity and Israeli connections from the Egyptian people…and destroyed their nascent democracy through deception and mass murder.

« An even bigger problem: al-Sisi is almost certainly a Mossad agent. ... No wonder the Israeli ambassador called al-Sisi "a national hero for all Jews." ...

« The Egyptian coup, especially its propaganda component, had all the earmarks of an Israeli black op ...

« Egypt … a permanent province of Greater Israel, ruled by a Jewish-Zionist thug who has appointed himself pharaoh, while hiding his real background and loyalties.

« Al-Sisi’s uncle, Uri Sibagh (sometimes spelled as Sabbagh) served in the Jewish Defense League (Hamagein) from 1948 to 1950, made his aliyah to Israel, and became a bigwig in Ben Gurion’s political party, serving as the secretary of the Israeli Labor Party in Beersheba from 1968 to 1981. Uri’s sister – al-Sisi’s mother – presumably emigrated to Egypt on a mission from the Mossad. That mission culminated when the Mossad overthrew President Morsi and installed its agent al-Sisi in the coup d’état of July 3rd, 2013. »

President Bashar al-Assad's full interview with Der Spiegel

"Der Spiegel: The international community will do everything to prevent arming you."

"President Assad: What right do they have? We are a sovereign state, and we have the right to defend ourselves. We don’t occupy anybody’s land. Why isn’t the international community bothered when Israel gets all kinds of weapons? Why should Israel receive three submarines from Germany, despite the fact that it is an occupying power and still occupies our land? We have the right to arm ourselves in accordance with the U.N. charter. This is why the West isn’t objective in this position; it’s because of these double standards that we don’t trust the West."

"Der Spiegel: Aren’t you concerned that Israel will shell the new defense system as soon as it arrives from Moscow?"

"President Assad: In our case, and in this state of war, we don’t allow ourselves to feel fear. We have to do everything to be strong; and we shall not allow anyone to destroy our armaments and military equipment."

"Der Spiegel: In the past your rhetoric about Israel was more self-confident."

"President Assad: No, we need peace and stability in this region. We have always been aware of this. When it comes to revenge and reacting to a strike, we need to ask ourselves: where would that lead, particularly now that we are fighting al-Qaeda. We need to be careful not to ignite a new war."

The truth is, almost all this year's aid will be paid to the Egyptian gov't as planned.

"Reports that we are halting all military assistance to Egypt are false. We will announce the future of our assistance relationship with Egypt in the coming days, but as the president made clear at U.N. General Assembly, that assistance relationship will continue," said National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden.

The military will get its money. The spice must flow.

The U.S. provides Egypt with $1.5 billion a year in aid, $1.3 billion of which is military assistance. The rest is economic assistance. Some of it goes to the government and some to other groups. Only the money that goes to the government would be suspended.

Obama's boys are not noted for their realism in the field of foreign affairs. Airheads with their noses in the air, WHAT A COMBO. If Bin Laden (RIP) got elected, we should support him ? Sounds pretty California dreamin' to me. SOS Kerry must have input on this one.

few in the u.s of a. realize that what is going on in Egypt is the most peaceful reset of the democratic process the world has seen. the musly bros' leaders were on their way to eliminating the fledgling democracy in Egypt by rewriting the rules. when the masses rose up yet again (including a number of the brotherhood who saw their 'leaders' for what they were), it was the army who came to the forefront, listened to what Egyptians wanted, and, for the second time, said STOP OR DIE to the next dictator wantabees.

The US government's loan guarantees to "Israel" are quickly followed by loan forgiveness.

U.S. Government Pledges $3.8 Billion In Loan Guarantees To Israel

"The U.S. Congress recently approved a guaranteed $30 billion in aid to Israel over the next 10 years. This aid, unlike assistance provided by the U.S. government to other countries, has no requirements, and is provided without stipulation as to how it should be used."

"Curtiss writes, 'Most U.S. loans to Israel are forgiven, and many were made with the explicit understanding that they would be forgiven before Israel was required to repay them. By disguising as loans what in fact were grants, cooperating members of Congress exempted Israel from the U.S. oversight that would have accompanied grants.'"

"Israel's Defense Ministry will ask the US to guarantee $5 billion in bridge loans that Israel plans taking from US commercial banks to finance procurement of advanced weapons systems that the Obama administration is offering Israel including the Osprey aircraft-helicopter and smart munitions. In the long term procurement will be financed by US military aid, and the loans will bridge the intermediary period in which annual US military aid to Israel is $3.1 billion not enough to finance the new weaponry, US 'Defense News' reports."
