Fact Or Fiction: Obama Administration Proposes 2,300-Page "New Constitution"

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Charles Hugh-Smith of OfTwoMinds blog,

The U.S. Constitution leaves too many areas open to interpretation; a New Constituion of 2,300 pages (+ 200 redacted secret pages) is the solution.

The Obama Administration has proposed replacing the current U.S. Constitution (4,543 words, including the signatures with a 2,300-page "new Constitution" that in the words of an administration spokesperson, "clears up the gray areas in the current Constitution."

The proposal was launched after the success of two recent 1,000+ page pieces of legislation, the Affordable Care Act and the Dodd-Frank financial reform act.

An additional 200+ pages of the "new Constitution" are redacted due to the sensitive nature of the National Security-related amendments.

Lobbyists from key industries were invited to contribute amendments to the new Constitution;" constitutional legal experts were also invited to submit improvements to the current law of the land.

Some critics who have reviewed the 2,300 pages of the proposed "new Constitution" have stated that the document is impenetrable even to those with law degrees. Average citizens "will be unable to understand the laws that govern their lives."

Other observers note that the complexity and length of legislation such as the Affordable Care Act and the Dodd-Frank financial reform act are already beyond the comprehension of all but a handful of experts.

An administration spokesperson defended the proposed re-write on the grounds that "the new Constitution will provide the clarity that people want in their Constitution."

Fiction for now, fact after the next false-flag/economic collapse.

Here's my amendment : every single year, the country votes to put 10 congressmen/women and 5 senators in a cage deathmatch. 5/10 enters, one leaves.

Why not indeed. It's not like they give a fuck what's written in it. I mean, it's not like dictatorships give a fuck. See : Soviet Union, Mao China, North Korea... they promise you all sorts of good stuff... but of course it's all lies.

In 2300 pages, one could redefine an entire language. FFS, I thought newspeak was suppose to consolidate language, and eliminate superfuous words.

This reminds me of how in Medieval Europe, a common practice of the monarchs was to have the official language that the laws were written in be different from the one spoken. In some cases it was latin, I think in England for a while they even used French.

Looks like our overseers are trying to roll us back to how things were before the industrial revolution, or perhaps even back to before the plague.

Lack of term limits, lack of campaign finance reform, and the lack of prosecution against members of the political class except in the rarest of circumstances, are the actual problems.

Obammer is just another empty suit spewing feces at the doll-eyed masses through a teleprompter.

True, but even a piece of shit like Clinton (Bill, not Hillary) has some soft spot in his heart for America (even if only because it produces chicks like Gennifer Flowers). But Obama HATES you, he HATES your way of life down to the last detail, and he HATES every shred of our history that conforms in the slightest degree to the constitution.

He produced the 'document' that hundreds of document experts (and an extensive criminal investigation in Phoenix) concluded is pure, childlike fraud. Then three days later we 'killed Bin Laden', pernamently changing the subject. Kind of like 9.11 happening the day after Rumsfeld admitted that the pentagon couldn't account for $2 trillion in tax money (back when a $trillion was real money). You literally have to be mentally retarded to not see through this shit.

It's a fictional work. The real Constitution/Bill of Rights have already been supplanted by the "2nd set of books" that Tom Ball alluded to:

http://www.sentinelsource.com/news/local/last-statement-sent-to-sentinel...

While his last statement had to do with family courts, I would like to see if ANYONE can find a case where "Common Law", such as the Constitution/Bill of Rights DOESN'T have corresponding "rules from the other set of books" that allows the system to trample them?

I hope so.  But I also worry that the second set of books will become even more about revenue-spinning than they are already.  Make sure you lost all your assets in a boating accident and try to avoid those privatized Alabama prisons where they starve people who can't afford crap from the overpriced vending machine.  If prisons like that become entrenched in the Second Set of Books, then the Second Set of Books will only go away when the stormtroopers have to wonder, each morning, whether it will be the last time they see their families.

The second set of books is all voluntary.  Sure they try to coerce you through fear, but it is in the end voluntary.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7mRSI8yWwg

An if you think that is bullshit, then I challenge you to find that law that compels anyone to pay.  The entire system is voluntary.

It is all contracts and estate law.  If you don't agree to the terms of the contract then let them know and do not consent.

Fri, 10/11/2013 - 18:52 | 4046715 JB

it is technically voluntary.

the reason that you have to pay your taxes is that when you are hired YOU SIGN A CONTRACT THAT STATES YOU WILL PAY TAXES.

Democracy is not for the ignorant, weak or lazy.

And freedom is not obtained by any document, but by the sweat, blood, toil and tears of a united people, and by their guns, skills and resolve.

The Constitution is the Document that gets written, enshrined and hopefully observed after it has been earned.

The birth certificate again?

If Ron Paul was quarter Black, quarter Jewish, quarter Iranian and quarter Chinese, I'd still vote for him. I'd vote for him if he was an illegal immigrant straight out of Mexico. What matters is the man and not what the label says.

If Obama was as white as a snowflake and a decendent of Abraham Lincoln himself, it wouldn't matter one bit. He'd not be any less of a banker puppet scumbag.

Bush's birth certificate was legit. Did that help?

"it's quite another to have a shitty ILLEGAL president."

Bush took office twice through corruption; his presidency was not legal.  Clinton may have taken office legally--because the flagrantly flawed electoral college enabled it--with less than 40% of the popular vote.  So the banksters get their guy, regardless.  And who will be next?  Obama's birth certificate at this point is a non-issue; even if it were somehow exposed that he was not born in Hawaii, he's already in the box and going nowhere for three more years.

Wait wait!!!  I have a few things that I would like to add!

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc., but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE IX: You don't have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.

ARTICLE X: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness -- which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an overabundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused about what the original Bill of Rights mean.

The problem with is not with what's there, but with what's missing:

Denial of Welfare for the rich: special tax breaks and far lower tax rates for being idle rich ("inventor"), privatization of profits and nationalization of losses for the biggest and strongest. Or the two-tier justice system. Etc, etc.

As it stands, your list is totally one-sided and you come across as either a shill for the 1%, or a postet boy for the Stockholm Syndrome.

I get what you are saying and these fuckers are milking the system and us all for what they can.  But the charade and fraud is based on keeping the FSA thinking wait there's MOAR to steal plus if I fuck up there are no consequences and it's of course not my fucking fault! If only we can suck more from those rich fuckers (which is the people that work and do something productive or own a business - not the large corporates).

By eliminating the safety net and all the other bullshit the conseqences get clearer and perhaps folks would be more focused on what is actually going on.

You're putting the cart ahead of the horse. Do you think 75 year old women really want to vote for politicians that want to teach their 5 year old grandkids about anal sex? Same thing goes for corporate welfare. Pay off the voters with entitlements and the government can do whatever it wants whenever it wants.

DEnial of welfare for the rich and poor is already in the constitution. Whatever is not explicitly granted to the feds is reserved for the states or the people. There is no provision granting the feds the power to take from one to give to another.  Documents will solve nothing.  The current consitution is fine.  What is lacking is the will of the people to abide by it and insist that governmetns do as well.

Three immediate thoughts:

This should have been presented on April 1. It is a perfect fool's joke.

A new Constitution, regardless of size or complexity, would be worthless. We don't even pay attention to the one that already exists.

Such a document would begin with "We the Anointed" rether than "We the People".

I see what Chuck did.

Creative way of describing how the constitution has already been circumvented.

It's such a shame what this country has come to. The word "embarrassing" doesn't even describe it. The sad thing is, is that most Americans don't even know how awesome America used to be. I mean not too long ago (100 years) we didn't even have an income tax. No American alive has ever experienced not having an income tax, it has simply become a way of life.

I really hope we default. Not because I want to see pain and suffering but because it's the medicine we need. I don't know many people who are truly proud to be American today and if you pay attention to the faces of people in day-to-day life you will see what a sad state our way of life has become; miserable.

Shakespeare wrote: kill all the lawyers. In his time, only the King had lawyers who were tax collectors for the King, his overspending, and war whenever he chose, regardless of who suffered at home and abroad.

You know where I'm going with this.

Fuck off to the 'new constitution'.

"...the document is impenetrable even to those with law degrees. Average citizens "will be unable to understand the laws that govern their lives," says the ZH report. (Cheers, guys. Well done.)

The original Constitution is easily understood by most people, rich and poor. That is the basis of a working, fair minded society - unlike all the legalese and powerbroking beloved by many foreign lands who want to turn the USA into a version of the places they fled.

NO.

It's no surprise that Laura Bush last week described the Clintons as 'family'. Bush/Clintons/Blair/Brown/Mandelson et al are corporatists, kleptocrats, enemies of the majority, and playing games with propaganda just to get votes so their personal Party exalts in its status, and ill-deserved riches.

Negotiate with your neighbor before damning him, and leaving yourself exposed to the money powers. Their game of divide and rule existed long before you discovered the concept 'anarchist'. The Constitution was written by wordly wise men who had seen the money power ruin the old world, and vowed to give this Republic some protection against falling into the same trap.
