Meanwhile In The Senate...
Three explanations have been provided for this peculiar exhibit of "spilled" cash in the Senate's Hart Building:
i) Step aside "Bernanke chopper"; presenting the "Yellen briefcase"
ii) Debt ceiling compromises don't come cheaply
iii) A Senator just cashed out of their SPX calls
All are equally likely, although perhaps what is saddest is that nobody even wants to pick it the strewn "reserve" currency.
Uh... so someone dropped a ton of money on the floor in the Senate Hart building pic.twitter.com/gS1XtR6h7M

Update: turns out it is iv) Crony Capitalism Protesters, in this case well-funded anti-Monsanto activists:

Finally, and most importantly: have the protesters been hired by the Fed yet?

You can tell it's all worthless because no one is sure if they want to pick any of it up. So it's on the border of money or another mess to clean up.
Not true. Its just that the people know whos money it is...They dont dare touch it.
Images of Germany 1923
Making it rain !!!!
OK
Riddle me this.
How the fuck did a bunch of Protestors (aka like no official ID's) get past security (Like nobody checked them or their belongings... What the fuck woulda happened if I'd tried that at the airport/) of checked what was in the bag?
Our protections are obviously not for our protection.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaraghhhhhhh!
Applying logic to political operations will get you nowhere in life, knuckles.
Troof, brother. Dat be dah troof.

I like the use of a broom, now where is the wheelbarrow?
When I see US government 'cop' type officials in black / navy uniforms, like in these photos, it gives me the creeps, since it reminds me of TSA officials at US airport (outboard or internal), and other 'boarding' areas like European airports (inbound to US), who act, without exception, like nasty ignorant fuckers, and are generally obese...!
This episode meshes seamlessly with yesterday's article disclosing that Americans are dumber than average.
I am Chumbawamba.
Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me once, wait...
Ben was 'visiting Shumer and lost the brief case he was dropping off for him.....
Since I never go near an airport, the only time I ever saw a TSA agent was when I was in a local store. Usually when you see someone so unkempt they are wondering around the skyways downtown having loud arguments with themselves. His uniform looked like he'd slept in it. His shirt was partially untucked, probably because he couldn't reach around back to tuck it in, and his belly hung so far down I frankly don't know how he reached his dick to pee.
I just assumed somebody had tripped a lobbyist.
He is in jail in NJ now. Just so you know.
Well, one thing's for sure, it is MONOPLY money...!!!!
;-)

LOL! You are very smart funny! Monsanto is form of monopoly for food product, so protest money is monopoly. Boris wonder if radical protester actual use real money...? Wonder why filthy greedy senator is not dog pile to scavenge money on floor...?
Good to see ya Boris, I ve missed ya!
Geruda was being a really shitty Boris for a day or two, FYI.
I worked at the Hart Buiilding years ago... it's not a secure sight. You just go through a metal detector and the usual bag scan.
Constituents are there all the time for tours and the like. It's not like you're in the Capital Building or the White House.
People come and go.
Wouldn't be hard to smuggle in a bag full of paper.... what are you gonna do, give people paper-cuts?
Hey, a paper-cut might cost you a few $Million under ObamaCare.
Seems security is all too familiar with bags of cash..errr...paper passing through detectors. Nothing to see here...move along.
Apparently you never heard of Nitro-Cellulose; "special paper".
How did a 9 year old board a plane by himself without a ticket?
Because Obama?
Because he was gonna be late for the warthouse tour?
I'm sure the guards assumed it was a bribe drop-off.
you make the mistake of assuming that someone bringing a briefcase filled with money into the Senante isn't a daily occurance.
Knuckles, I have never heard of one injury or death caused by paper currency- at least not in the sense of it as a weapon. I guarantee, if you have 500 dollars in one dollar bills- you too can walk thru any metal detector anywhere.
Naw, they're used to people bringing in big quantities of cash...
Probably just thought another lobbyist ..
After all, there're are SO MANY...
Good thing they didn't dare come across armed NPS brownshirts and try that stunt at the WWII memorial!!!
The Hart Senate Building is open to the public. The lobby, where this shot was taken, is fully open for anyone to walk in. Yes, you do get scanned, but those machines are looking for metal and electronics. They have the PTN wipes too, but they are never used.
Bundles of paper wont' trip any alarms. The number of people who come in with stacks and even boxes of documents would preclude paper being a problem.
The glass door in the second image is the entrance to the Senate Credit Union, which is what I thought this was related to until I read further in the story. There is also a Caulder mobile exhibit in the lobby if you like that sort of thing.
Considering the billions that Barry and Ben have brought into existance, that's more like "making it sprinkle"!
Speaking of the Monsanto behemoth, it pales in comparison to this place.

This "research lab" was founded and funded by the Rockefeller Foundation in the 1940's and they have singlehandedly destroyed any semblance of modern grains to heritage grains.
Eat them and die...
Rock on Monsanto!

Meanwhile in the real world....
Radiation levels near damaged Fukushima reactor hit two-year highhttp://ajw.asahi.com/article/0311disaster/fukushima/AJ201310100095
Oh now Jim. We don't want to hear anymore of this Gloom/Doom while we're talking about the confetti-prime.
The protestors should have brought in and tossed a sack full of Monsanto GMO Castor beans on the Senate floor. Then they would have made the nightly news.
" tossed a sack full of Monsanto GMO Castor beans on the Senate floor."
That had already happened, when Snowden spilled the beans on the NSA.
"A TEPCO spokesman said the sudden spike in radiation was caused by construction work near the No. 2 building. ... Radiation from water leaking from the facility is mostly confined to the harbor around the plant, officials have said."
ug. assurances like this make my stomach churn.
Uhh, rather than this situation seeming to make an outlying or otherwise manufactured point, it appears that we are staring at a true reflection on the capitol floor of the state of our politics.
If it would have been gold coins you would have seen a spotless floor.
Not so sure about that.
Mark Dice tries to sell 1 oz Canadian gold coin for $25.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndshbH3qZ6Y
really when some idiot shoves a giant microphone in my face on a street corner with a camera filiming it trying to get me to buy anything, I would say no. First thought is this is one of those yotube jagoffs trying to make people look stupid on the internet. Second thought would be this is some jagoff the coin shop hired to fence bad coins on their last day in business, etc etc.
If a person without a mic in my face offered me gold I would take it. Under these cirumstances, just another fucker selling amway is really the meta message.
Stupid pr gimmick. He should be executed.
Reminds me of this!
Or a sack of this:
NASIRIYAH, Iraq — At least $4 million in counterfeit U.S. currency has flooded into Iraq since December, and U.S. and Iraqi officials are trying to determine how much of the counterfeiting is purely criminal and how much might be an Iranian attempt to influence Iraqi politics.
Let me get this straight; if it's an Iranian attempt, it's not "purely criminal"? and what do the mean counterfeit; more counterfeit than usual? Every dollar of it is always counterfeit and always an attempt to influence politics; whether Iraqi or US or European, or whomever.
They are Federal Reserve notes = can not be redeemed for physical. So why bother picking it up?
The coin shop down the street from me still does. Why? I'll never know.
Your wit is admirable!!
A big greenie from me...
DaddyO
Proof of money-shitting unicorns? We're saved.
Standing around it like it's radioactive or something.
LOL!!
Thst's what a drop in the bucket looks like. Eh, Jan.
The cash could be dosed with skin-penetrating truth serum. Can't be too careful these days.
LOL Gotta make sure the cameras are off before they pick it up.
And that the notes aren't fake or marked... Never steal unless you think you can get away with it!
$2 Billion NSA Spy Center in Flames
Maybe there is a God?
So glad there are still patriots left in this country. Burn it all down boys. If you're on the inside and you know about the bullshit that's going on....take it out if you have access and means to do so.
It sure would be a shame if a wrench were to fall down there...
Oh shit!
Hmmm, this distribution box requires a 100 amp breaker in this particular slot. Let see what a 50 does. Too F-ing Easy!!!
NSA building burned down in order to build a LARGER one!
They didn't have a problem until Homer Simpson transferred there.
Obviously a banking sector lobbyist from K Street was a little clumsy as he was heading for Harry Reid's office. Didn't bother to scoop it up and ran like hell out of there.

those in the know that this is worthless fiat currency, but the majority of sheeple don't know.
payday for Graham and Mcshitstain from their MIC contributors
America is soooo soooooo fucked.
A photo op no one wanted to to take part in?
WHAT IN THE FUCK???
Beat me to it, Dog. Now...can't wait for The BlowHorn [CNBC] to not report on the story...and for the "explanations" to come from the rest of the MSM.
Good grief...how obvious does it all have to get?
Wish that'd happen on my floor(wait, are those Canadian dollars?)!
HAHAHAHAHA.talk about PERFORMANCE art...
oops ... looks like some senator will not get his payment today ...
Looks like somebody's bribe and payola got spilled and dirty. Nothing worse than money that has touched the floor and is "soiled".
Damn, it's gotta be relaundered.
Someone dropped the modern day version of Thirty Pieces of Silver.
<Hurry Scurry if you can.>
Obama, "That isn't your money"
WTF?
It's just the remnants of a bernanke shart. A "stanky bernanke" as its known by staffers at the fed....
Now, if that had been a case of Krugers....
It was Al Qaeda. Shelter in place!
Helicopter Ben is getting a few runs in before his retirement for old times' sake.
That must be Bernanke showing old Yeller how it's done!
No one will pick it up. They know their hands will get cut off with a skill saw.
"Do you know who this bookies belongs to?"+1 for snatch reference
Looks like somebody is not going to get paid for their vote.
Isn't like a terrorist act to be carrying such large amount of cash like that?
Joe public would get incarcerated and sent off to Guantanamo.
Is that bribe money? Hush money?
Business Owner taking home more than a grand after a slow night at the register? Drug Dealer!!! Terrorist!!!
It was people protesting Monsanto.
Update: 3 arrested after dropping large amount of cash on Senate office building floor as part of protest against Monsanto
If they'd dropped the cash on some senator's desk they wouldn't have been arrested.
Yes, waiter, please pour me a glass of caberet --- this pinochet (semi-)noir has gone bad.
i see what you did there!
If they want to drink Merlot, we're drinking Merlot.
No, if anyone orders Merlot, I'm leaving. I am NOT drinking any fucking Merlot!
I see dead paper bills.
Relax, it's just some of that cash missing at the first of the "2003 'short' Iraqi invasion" dealeo???
Briefcase fail, payoff bail, NSA won't nail.
My first thought was that the latch failed on the briefcase of a lobbyist.
Mine too!
Was yours full of dollar notes as well or gold coins?
Sad!
They're just waiting for the Janitor with a TS clearance making $150,000/year to come by with a broom.
Re the capitol cop sweeping up the cash: we'd all be better off if he would sweep the trash out of the House and the Senate. All 535 of them. Then he could proceed to clean out the White House.
Oh well, back to reality....
Good. Now one less politician getting bribed which results in one less regulation / stupid law.
But seriously, that is crazy. I initially thought this was some type of Yellen joke.
I will give them 1 loaf of bread for all of that.
No need in crying over spilt bribes, er milk.
Didn't mean to spill the bribes, er beans?
Always throw a spilt bribe, er salt, over your left shoulder.
You know these fuckers are breaking new ground here for dumbass.
Monsanto has an interesting way of making payoffs.
Haha, that's good.
Wait till the light those protesters up with several hundred rounds of ammo. Then claim they were a severe threat.
You know a currency is dead when people hesitate to even look at it.
Making snow angels in the cash pile....priceless!
Why Jefferson said revolt against the government was necessary. Is that bribe worth the cost of your life? We have the opposite today. Government today spies and infringes on our liberty which is why if it feels like you are living under tyranny it's because you are
There will never be a revolt against the government. There are too many iSheepl who rely on the governent teet. If anything all this will eventually lead to a uncivil war.
Obama walks by:
"You didn't drop that."
Lol.
NO
He says
Uh!
Capitol police now sweeping up all the money - with GLOVES put on.
Well, like with every piece of unofficial paper around there, they have to beware of the anthax bogeymen working for the CIA.
You didn't print that!
http://www.treasury.gov/initiatives/pages/debtlimit.aspx
Debt Limit
The debt limit is the total amount of money that the United States government is authorized to borrow to meet its existing legal obligations, including Social Security and Medicare benefits, military salaries, interest on the national debt, tax refunds, and other payments. The debt limit does not authorize new spending commitments. It simply allows the government to finance existing legal obligations that Congresses and presidents of both parties have made in the past.
Failing to increase the debt limit would have catastrophic economic consequences. It would cause the government to default on its legal obligations – an unprecedented event in American history. That would precipitate another financial crisis and threaten the jobs and savings of everyday Americans – putting the United States right back in a deep economic hole, just as the country is recovering from the recent recession.
Congress has always acted when called upon to raise the debt limit. Since 1960, Congress has acted 78 separate times to permanently raise, temporarily extend, or revise the definition of the debt limit – 49 times under Republican presidents and 29 times under Democratic presidents. In the coming weeks, Congress must act to increase the debt limit. Congressional leaders in both parties have recognized that this is necessary. Recently, however, a number of myths about this issue have begun to surface.
that's the money I lost today in the market
What's that story picture ? Lemme click on it...
The insanity is telling - what it's telling I don't know.
It's paper with ink on it - that's valuable stuff!

A failed OTF (Over The Floor) transaction?
There are more credits than cash present.
You know what I am saying?
Decadence is phun.
..."perhaps what is saddest is that nobody even wants to pick it the strewn "reserve" currency."...
What a fitting epitaph this is to this Country and it's leader(s).
Destination unknown.
Why does a guy need rubber gloves to hold a broom?
He's a sanitations engineer - it's to show respect for the level of professionalism of his predecessors.
Some senator was incensed. "You call this a bribe? Come back when you have some real money and we'll talk!"
The Federal Reserve wants to go the route of the Weimar Republic. Keep devaluing while people ignore it. Eventually other countries (happening now) will refuse to take it.
Gloves for dirty money,,,, HA, they would all be wearing them,,, ALL as in 535 of our Congress Critters, so sad.
The CNN journalist who wrote this article must have dropped her bribe on the floor...

It was so far out there I had a hard time determining if it was actually satirical.
A masterful display of girl on girl analingus.
Arrested for what...littering?
Followed by another demonstration of selfless heroism by the Capitol POlice, almost as courageous as their gang-murder of an unarmed young mother after she made a wrong turn in a strange city avoiding the barracades everywhere.
I am eagerly waiting for the update showing the non-furloughed CONgressional doorman handing out more valor buttons and the unanimous standing ovation by the elephant & jackass sock puppets between Kabuki theatre acts.
Well, after all it is fall in the land of the money trees
Monsanto? Really? Come on, it's a $55 billion market cap company. It's certainly not a monopoly. All the morons arrested probably had iPhones allowing Apple, the NSA, and every marketing analytics firm in the world tracking their every move. Dorks. If you really want to crush Monsanto, repeal the idiotic ethanol mandate.
Now if they had thrown silver coins in the air......
Apparently there is no problem getting wads of money through security and into the building.
