Americans Have Never Been More Dissastisfied With Government
With 81% "Dissatisfied" and somehow 18% "Satisfied" there has never been more disappointment at the way the nation is being governed... Still, X-Factor is on later so that doesn't really matter...

Some news that actually makes sense.
Fire them all! Majority want to toss entire Congress, NBC News/WSJ poll findsThere IS a way to fire them all...every single one of them.
This dissatisfaction can be cured with a monthly $150 Billion QE. There is nothing that can't be cured by more money printing. In the olden days the standard practice was "blood letting" - a panacea. Now we have uncontrollable money printing as a cure all.
How true. Take one month's QE, break it up, and send everyone 2 grand or whatever it amounts to. Then take another poll.
Money for nothing and the chicks are free.
Please define "satisfied" so that I might better understand what "We the People" are dissatisfied with.
WTF? You mean people are getting tired of the bait and switch? Must need more freebies for the free shit army.
I read the MSM tripe this morning ..
The DNC/MSM code word of the day is “boomerang”.
WTF is X-factor? And what do they mean by "boomerang"?
Talking about the Constitution, it specifically delegates powers for the Federal gubamint, those not being so delegated were reserved to the states/people.
Anybody but me ever notice theres nothing in the Constitution that specifically allows the gubamint to operate in secrecy?
Or conversely pry into people's private matters?
It's all ass backwards
Throw the bums out, third party time, 100%
Hoof.. X-Factor is a TV show for the sheep.. it is good that you did not know this.
And they are trying to make the pubs feel like their actions are boomeranging back in their faces..
They are skewing and screwing the polls and the news to cow the pubs.
Oh, and young folks (especially with families). You are going to love that bottom end Bronze plan with $6,300.00 to $20,000 annual cost.
But most don’t understand that this is all designed to get you all screaming for single payer, total government “care".
I do not think the insurance companies understand this either.
And another thing.. this battle is not entirely about the debt or funding government .. it is about delaying the travesty of Obamacare until the mid-terms.
If Diebold and Soros let the people speak and if the DNC/Dem illegal alien/poverty pimper crimes can be held to a minimum. There might be some hope for the sorry state we are in.
Fortunately, the incompetence of the Obamacare monster is helping a bit…
“It’s been one full week since the flagship technology portion of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) went live. And since that time, the befuddled beast that is Healthcare.gov has shutdown, crapped out, stalled, and mis-loaded so consistently that its track record for failure is challenged only by Congress.
The reason for this nationwide headache apparently stems from poorly written code, which buckled under the heavy influx of traffic that its engineers and administrators should have seen coming. But the fact that Healthcare.gov can’t do the one job it was built to do isn’t the most infuriating part of this debacle – it’s that we, the taxpayers, seem to have forked up more than $634 million of the federal purse to build the digital equivalent of a rock."

hey, IT types, check this out..
Crazzzzzzzy code...
knukles, I disagree with you on this. when the US was founded, it was set up as a sovereign nation in the context of a tradition
including war, the ultimate tool of sovereigns. in which it's also still customary to operate in secret, then after all the enemy could otherwise profit from it and win
hence your Constitution specifically mentions how your Republic is supposed to behave in war, with all implicit traditional rules
and don't try to say they did not think about tradition, they specifically choose the Roman Republic as a template, and there is no template less rife with tradition than that
at a certain point after WWII the US stopped following them. best example: it stopped making formal declaration of wars. imho if the Founding Fathers would have been even able to imagine this, they would have put some additional article about it
so what you have is imho a mix-up of "State of War" and "State of Peace". in the first State Secrets have to be kept, or it's Treason to the State. in the second State Secrets are (customarily) not allowed (to be kept from the sovereign), otherwise it's Treason to the Sovereign (People)
add the fact that the memes like "War on Drugs" and "War on Terror" further mumble all this...
the "simple" solution would be to Declare Peace from all those wars
I'm just starting to cope with this and now you guys want to change it?
Dammit.....make up your minds already!
Starting to lose hope here gang......just sayin! The next asshole that says hope and change to me is going to get knuckle sandwich straight to the face.
This is like living in the Matrix on the crappy side of town.
Hey, I'm not making sandwiches for you to throw at people. Waste of good baloney! :)
If you "work" for the gubmint, you are a stupid, lazy parasite who could not survive if you had to make an honest living.
So are most people who work for multinationals, including the finance industry. One out of 10 actually works, the rest always finds ways to mainly do nothing... I guess the same goes for government.
Of everybody else 9 out of 10 can be replaced by robots and computers at some point.
People who cannot spell government (gubmint) cannot be of any value to society.
I guess there are just 6.3 billion people too many on this planet...
The government creates a playing field where the competition of the market is replaced by cronyism.
Some people choose to play on that field and become 'winners' without competing fairly.
So the game will be rigged until you separate government from business.
@MagicHandPuppet
Agreed. Anthony Wiener would be a good, topical, example? Can he ever get a "Real" job?. I doubt it!!
And utterly brainless comments like that are the reason that many competent people get out of public employment and leave some of the worst kinds of people behind to mind the store. I still haven't stopped laughing at the Obamacare website debacle. You wanted the private sector involved and you wanted it done on the cheap for shareholder value...well enjoy all the crony capitalist durka durka vomit $600M taxpayer dollars can buy.
Per month? Sign me up! I'll say anything you want me to say if you keep handing me that check.
Oh, wait.... I'm becoming one of 'them', aren't I?
OK, send me the check every month and I'll continue to complain it's not enough. Shoot.... still no good.
Dammit, this free shit idea is one nasty little trap, Fonz.
That's why helicopter ben is too much of a compliment. it should be private jet Ben. Hand me that check and we can start talking helicopters.
I guarantee that 99.9999% of all voters will vote for the same bought and paid for whore that they voted for the last time. After all, it's everybody else's judgment that's wrong.
And they'd all vote for the fucking Kardashians if they were running.
which one? If it's the one with the basketball player i'd actually have some reservations about it.
Need to see me without the makeup. Could be scary bad.
The annoying one with the big ass fonz.
Wait, does that narrow it down? How the hell many are there?
pods
Correct. Until it's so far gone that a recovery of any type is impossible and we drift into the abyss. I can easily envision a toned down Mad Max scenario in a few years. It's not that hard to imagine how it could all play out.
BTW, what is with these crazy Underton ads that take over the whole screen these days?
The People of the United States have got to figure out a way to "govern" themselves. This antiquated corrupt congress playground is an insult, even to the rotted out corpse of what Amerika has become, it deserves better than this total global clown car.
Mob rule? Not a good idea. It would be better to greatly reduce the role of the Federal Government to just be national defense, interstate commerce, large infrastructure projects, etc and leave the rest to the states.
Huh.... Just like the original Constitution interpreted in a conservative manner clearly stated
There need only be one new amendment (and discarding of a couple others) to fix our system of power hungry thieves. Every so often the entire federal code needs to be wiped clean and you start over fromt he basis of the constitution.
You burn the fucker down every so often so that green shoots can grow. It's like forest or prarie management. A good burning helps regeneration. It also cleans out all the bad shit that has grown up.
@bdub2
That's why the Founding Fathers created a Constitutional Republic NOT a democracy, recognising, as they did, "The tyranny of the majority", aka the Free Shit Army (FSA) who don't pay any taxes and live off Food Stamps, Disabilioty benefits and Obamaphones. The problem is, the vast majority of Americans would not understand the difference and its significance.. The Constitution has been walked over and it is a hard road back again. It's all there, and it's a brilliant model with The Constitution, Bill of Rights, Three branches of Government it's just that it has been totally corrupted and is no longer being applied as intended, which is sad.
agreed. The idea of governing oneself is the foundation of the Constitution. By NO means mob rule, land of 365 day football seasons, and government voting lumped in at end of America's Got Talent.
It is clear people no longer govern. That is long gone. Long road back, yes.
Have got to wonder, HOW LOW approval ratings must go before action occurs from people. And when that action is ignored, again, the People just shut down this whole broken show once and for all...somehow.
People must just be holding out for approval rating of Absolute Zero. It is of note that this rating is lower now than when:
1.War,
2. Impeachment Proceedings
3. Bear Market
ALL at the same TIME.
Sort of seems as though we're a bit off track.
in other news...the Congressional gym, clearly an essential service, is being kept open.
Dissatisfied, we are!
Dissatisfied? With what? Not enough free shit? Want a bigger welfare check? Easier time getting disability?
Or is it too much surveillance?
I'm dissatisfied, too. I want Gubbmint to shrink. I'd be happy if it went away completely, like the wild West in 1870.
If you didn't work, you didn't eat.
A vanished gubberment would satisfy me.
Lately, our "way-too-big" govt. has given us a tiny glimpse at how dictatorships work:
We've observed simple-minded thugs aka: Park rangers violating are right to assemble at national parks & memorials.
why? [we have $70,000 jobs and a juicy pension waiting that we're afraid to lose] "We are just following orders" "We don't like it either"
Hmmm... where in history have we heard that before?
Why did you [ insert violation of civil rights here ] officer Peabrain? "I vas only following orders".
Expect all civil "servants" -- especially the armed ones -- to behave accordingly.
----------
Looking ahead to our now politicized health care system:
"Please send an ambulance, my husband can't breath" .
"Hmmm... I see on my screen that you folks voted republican the last few elections and gave money to a tea party website" "Look for an ambulance by Tuesday if one of the union drivers will volunteer"
Opponents must always be PUNISHED.
The NEW Ameican way!
Poll margin of error: 18%.
Bring back the Misery Index.
Doesn't work when both inflation and unemployment are intentionally manipulated downward.
Literally the only solution is term limits. This is not complicated yet people never try to achieve this. Everything else is noise and it will never, ever change when the perpetual goal is re-election at all costs and job security.
They would probably consult Putin on term limits. He found an interesting interpretation of "Consecutive terms"?
I totally agree. Unfortunately, the same fucks who need term limits are the ones that have to pass any reform type laws. In Idaho we passed them, they cleared the courts, and then the bastards refused to vote on them.
Ya, I hear ya. I'm thinking the only way is if some wildly popular person with some balls becomes President that doesn't give a shit about power and only ran for President for the very purpose of cleaning up the system. I hate politics because of the lack of term limits. I think it is a complete waste of time and energy because everything is fake and bullshit due to the next election. So, I don;t know who or how this can be accomplished.
I dunno, maybe a Jesse Ventura type of person that gets in and and pushes for a constitutional amendment.
Agreed, but look what happened to JFK.....then RFK.
Any Libertarian who truly believes in the ideals would fit the bill.
The fuck you say? Term limits? Presto changeo, everything is fixed?
The problem is much more fundamental than that... the problem begins (at the latest) through the self nomination process. The only people who ever volunteer for the job are power hungry assholes or naive and idealistic twits, neither of whom manage to serve the citizenry.
Then there's campaign contributions, consulting/moonlighting, revolving doors with the private sector, any quick/immediate check or balance to poor decisions, conflicts of interest, exceptions to every law for congress members, refusal to curb executive privilege, inability to properly draft even the most rudimentary law (let alone 2000 page laws), refusal to correct bad decisions of predecessors, and rigid denial of everything... among others.
Oh, I did it again, Funny: Obama Will Negotiate With Screaming Goat: http://youtu.be/JgIaIXeFFIU
The question is: When do we start demanding better from our representatives( if we can call them that), and how.
Some fucking stooge on Huffpo the other day accusing me of hating the government because I didn't like the fact that the government is seizing my money without due process and delivering it to pot smoking ne er do wells.
As long as they can find a way to legally seize my shit- I'm supposed to like it and take it. I can't wait until the real anarchy starts. It's gettin close. I'm stocked up on popcorn.
So now you're hoarding popcorn, driving up the cost of popcorn for the rest of us?! You need to be fined.
in the past he used to grow his own corn in his backyard for his popcorn but since monsanto owns the corn he has to buy it...
but whatever he did or does... FINES FOR EVERYBODY!!!!
The poison or the fine.....what's it gonna be?
Yea sorry. I think the stooge is stalking me and giving me a down arrow. I'm fixing to plant a boot in his ass.
I got one of them, too.
Somebody actually takes the time and effort to specifically....
Jesus, people
18%-Leave me alone I'm trying to watch ow my balls!
That's why I check my phone during the national anthem. And never stand for god bless America.
So 18% works for the government... sounds about right...
My comment: Tea Party Republicans are apparently the only ones who care up thar. If they're listening, I appreciate their stand and hope they hold firm against Obamacare and fiscal irresponsibility. Article:
Establishment GOP-ers Assail Tea Party on Shutdown, by Thomas Beaumont, AP
...
The anger emanating from Republicans like Sununu and Barbour comes just three years after the GOP embraced the insurgent political group and rode its wave of new energy to return to power in the House.
Now, they're lashing out with polls showing Republicans bearing most of the blame for the federal shutdown, which entered its 11th day Friday. In some places, they're laying the groundwork to take action against the tea party in the 2014 congressional elections.
Full article: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_SHUTDOWN_GOP_TEA_PARTY?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2013-10-11-03-56-20
The establishment republicans are on their heels and will use every piece of propaganda necessary to stay in power. The old line Republican Party is in the verge of becoming extinct. they have no choice but to lash out.
I for one can't wait to watch these rats die their miserable death. See ya Boehner, Graham, Peter King et al.
Screw the progressive GOP.
I hope the GOP disbands or collapses, loses every election from here out. I could not care less about them SOBs. Half would scurry over to their Democrat brethren if they were fired any ways.
Boner is giving in to Obama. Hopefully he takes a backseat role after all this.
Barry has won. Boner needs to resign and go back to his district telling them to learn to like Obamacare. Big loss for the Rupulsicans.
The Trucker blockade of DC starts today, fort sumpter on alert, national guard called out to stop em...I am on the truckers side beware if you are driving to or from DC..funny nothing onZH? or Drudge? might mean the truckers are too much reflecting the national mood for the MSM. yes drudge is part of the msm, with just a little more truth than the rest of the useful idiots.
Let's see what happens in the news today on the truckers. News so far is keeping it low profile.
How Conviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiient they leave out the DROP from 57% approval for OBummer to 37%!.
As if their opinion mattered. We have devolved into a fascist dystopia and the people no longer matter. The NSA spies on everybody - the Congress, Supreme Court, White House and all our movers and shakers. The constitution is violated billions of times a month for years now but nobody can do a thing about it.
Jimmy Carter says that the US is no longer a functioning democracy but no US media will report it. The US hands all raw data on Americans (phone calls, emails, web history, everything) to a foreign power without any legal restrctions but the US media will not report it.
The people do not matter in a fascist state. Hence the dissatisfaction of the American public can only grow. Who cares about the dissatisfaction of slaves?
I think these are still rather high readings. Greeks are willing to leave EU and merge with Turkey.
Greeks want to live with Turks? Unbelievable. It must be even worse in Greece than reported. Either that or they don't teach history in Greece, either.
I am actually happier with it now that it's shutting down.
Moar tea party and less fed govt....it's a winning hand
I would like to see comparison poll numbers from:
1) 1775
2) 1861
Consider me one of the 5% that is happy with this.
The more that these idiots are fighting each other, and the less time they spend on passing freedom-crushing laws the better.
Hey Tylers,
This is the real news. It's just starting to trickle into the group mind but it appears that Obama Care just blew up on the launch pad. Healthcare.gov is an unmitigated total disaster. The site is completely disfunctional and judging from the javascript it loads to the browser - the code is probably not just incomplete, but completely incompetant and unfixable. Some early analysts are questioning whether the site is connected to a functioning data base at all. It's a huge fail. A 650 million dollar project farmed out to a crew of dot gov usual suspects who apparently delivered a steaming pile of shit to Barry and Siballius and no one was willing to admit that frankinsteins monster was doa. They just went ahead and put it up. The consequences will be huge. The site is likely unfixable, people will never be able to sign up using it, this is not just a little delay caused by load. Did they seriously tell Barry that? Did he seriously buy that? the implications in terms of gross mismanagement, wishful thinking, and sheer towering incomptence on the part of the Obama administration are staggering. This was supposed to The Presidents Signature Legislation/Legacy???! Okay, so I am not an expert but I have done enough coding and lite weight web design myself to know that when a website is erroring out bits of code string... it's seriously effed up. see this -> http://blog.fmsinc.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/healthcare1.jpg

And, this just in. If you are one of the approx 15,000 individuals which DHHS claims have succesfully created an account on healthcare.gov you will need to call an 800 number to reset your password(s). Yes, it seems that while the site was being "upgraded" all of the passwords were deleated. No worries though. Just call the 800 number.
And let's all remember that "private sector" companies like Experian PLC took their useless middleman cut before farming the work out to Bangalore and H1Bs.
I am so tired of these polls and the disapproval rate of the government. As a country this is what we want we are the ones going to the polls and sending our rep's to Washington, we get the government we deserve. A year from now these same politicians will be pounding the bully pulpit, and we will go the polls again, why? Hope that this time is different?
http://www.infowars.com/top-constitutional-experts-obama-is-worse-than-nixon/
Time to secede. If you want something done right you have to do it yourself.
How about CRIMINAL Mega banks and their lacky government?
Millions of heavily armed Americans (civilians, veterans, and active duty) are watching these things closely and standing by...
Boehner, McCain, Harry Reid, San Fran Nan, Obummer, Joe Biden, McConnell, Chucky Schumer, Patty Murray, Cantor etal.
How is it we have the worst leaders in memory at a time of need?
sschu
I honestly think that Lysander Spooner was 150 years ahead of his time. No matter how well-written the Constitution is, it has failed in restraining the power of the state.
You can have as many restrictions and checks and balances as you want on a government. There will ALWAYS be someone that will attempt to circumvent those restrictions, as we have seen multiple times throughout history. The nature of government is to always get bigger and to never, ever decrease in size.
When you give a handful of people a monopoly on violence, even a small and limited government won't stay small and limited for long.

Why America needs a debt 'default'
Commentary: Is it time to hit the reset button?
By Anthony Mirhaydari
It's clear the fiscal fight in Washington isn't going to end anytime soon.
Sure, a short-extension to the debt ceiling is under discussion, according to reports, but that will only open the door to contentious budget talks over issues like entitlement reform and changes to the tax code. The two parties remain far apart: Republicans want to balance the budget in 10 years, while Democrats want another trillion in taxes and spending.
There's too much at stake and the choices are tough. But what if we didn't have to make it?
What if we took the easy way out that didn't require the sacrifices — such as higher taxes, lower spending, and fewer entitlement benefits — that Democrats and Republicans are playing hardball over in the first place?
What if we could avoid the nightmare that would be a debt-ceiling breech, which would force us to choose between ruining the Treasury's reputation as a risk-free investment but provide checks to seniors on Social Security, or leave grandma in the lurch but pay our creditors in Tokyo and Beijing?
The more I think about the extent of the problems facing this country, the more apparent it is that a hard reset is needed. I'm talking about a debt default, but not in the traditional sense. And the Federal Reserve would play a key role.
Only 18% satisfied?
What, the free cheese got mold?
