Protesting Veterans Tear Down DC Barricades, Chant "Shut Down The White House"
The "Million Vet March" in Washington D.C. appears to be escalating as reports of barricades being torn down, police in riot gear and snipers being deployed, and a growing crowd at The White House chanting for its shut-down suggest the people are growing restless.
Veterans take back the Vietnam Memorial
Protesters have gathered in front of the White House in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, according to reports.
Park police in riot gear were deployed in front of the building.
“US Park Police have arrived in front of WH. Some in riot gear! Tea party/veteran protesters start booing,” wrote CNN’s Jim Acosta on Twitter.
A rally took place at the World War II memorial and headed to the White House, reported NBC Washington. Several thousand demonstrators came out, it said.
NBC reported that people were carrying barricades that were likely from the WWII memorial to the White House area.
The DC Police Department said its officers are on the scene.
“MPD is on the scene at White House with USSS & USPP concerning protest – marchers using sidewalk,” it wrote on Twitter.
Commentator Sarah Palin and Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) were on the scene and spoke to demonstrators.
The organizers of the protest described themselves as the “Million Vet March.”
It said that veterans and military members are “being used a political pawns in the ongoing government shutdown and budget crisis,” its website reads.
Jeff Tompkins, a protester, told NBC that “it should be open to everyone to come down here and see this … this is not just and not fair,” referring to the WWII memorial.

First off, I seriously doubt much of anything will happen right now beyond vets venting their frustration.
Second, a military coup might not be the salvation many seek. Military folks are often quite hierarchical and authoritarian types, with the whole chain of command, don't question your superiors, follow your orders thing going on. Isn't that what most folks here are bitching about in the first place? Kind of sounds like a meet the new boss, same as the old boss situation to me. So i don't know what the cheering would be about except that you get to watch people you hate right now get their ass kicked as the people you're going to hate soon enough set up shop.
Third, the most likely outcome is taxpayers footing the bill for the cleanup tomorrow, just like all other million person marches, while the politicians continue their games of who's to blame for the problems we face. Same shit, different day. At least that's where I'd bet my money.

I live around a ton of military folks and if they got rid of ALL the Christians they'd have about 20% of the people left. Christians, just like religious and non-religious folks of all types, have normal folks, along witha full spectrum of freaks from, self-important, self-absorbed assholes to complete nutcases. Maybe those guys were in one of the latter groupings.
Or maybe it had nothing at all to do with religion and more to do with competence, attitude, reliability, etc... There always seems to be an effort on the part of Christians to find someone or something attacking their belief system. I guess that comes with the slave-based origins of the religion itself.

First off, were the generals Christians or is this just another red herring? If Christian, AND that was the reason for their dismissal, what kind of Christians were? Were they like MLK? So, just the act of firing a general means there's a high probability of him being a Christian due to their over representation. See how that works?

No, but I didn't find anything about the EBT problems on the MSM yesterday either. (I was curious so I tuned in.) It was eerie that something that affected a fairly large number of people in 17 states for a significant number of hours never made the cable news. It didn't merit a mention on the local news either, although there was a blurb on the Web pages of various local news outlets.

Hundreds riot on Indian Street in BellinghamPolice used pepper spray to disperse hundreds of drunk, bottle-throwing college students who rioted late Saturday, Oct. 12, north of Western Washington University.
Bellingham Police broke up a block party at an apartment complex near Jersey Street around 9:30 p.m., said Bellingham Police Lt. Mike Johnston. People leaving the party threw beer bottles and cans at officers, he said. Police called for backup.
A “parade of people” made its way to the intersection, drawing out college students from other parties in the area, said Sam Kaplan, a Western Washington University sophomore who lives near the scene of the riot.
Glass bottles, dishes and cans were thrown at officers, police cruisers, and other rioters, Johnston said.
Officers in riot gear used pepper balls, smoke and flash-bangs to disperse the crowd of 300 to 400 that refused to leave the intersection, Johnston said.

The only reason Obama is president is because the Republican Party lied, cheated, stole, and broke their own rules to make sure the psychopath (Romney) got their nomination over the Last Honest Man. Otherwise, Ron Paul would be president, and none of this shit would be happening.
I wanted Ron Paul but they followed up doing the same thing to Santorum. Romney and Gingrich (as a spoiler to Paul and Santorum) backed casino kingpin Sheldon Adelson said Adelson said that Santorum was "too Christian" for him to back. Santorum had Romney beaten in the Midwest but they did late voting in the cities for Romney after Santorum had beaten him in two midwest states. Then Obama did the same thing to Romney. It was stolen in the primaries and the general election.

I learned my lesson in Vietnam after being impressed by the government for an insane mission...They should be pissed that there even is a need for a memorial...
