Obama Care is just an extension of any other government transfer program, they just extended it to the entire population. It's like making everyone write their own check for their income taxes and now they are starting to understand what forcing someone else to pay for something for the benifit of others feels. Trust me, the RINO's wanted this just as much the democrats. They need the money and they are going to get it by the force of the gun barrel. Shitty health care that everyone cannot afford is the future so everyone wanting to se the U.S. with socialized medicine are going to see how that works, good and hard without the lube. The Supreme court argued the case for the administration when they said it was a tax even though the administration never made that argument. Makes one wonder what goods they had on Roberts.

This is a net positive for Corp. since they can take that cost off their books and why they lobbied so hard for it (Buffet)

Single payer system is the goal so they can control who gets medicine and who dies, diabolical, but just like a government, they will kill their own to keep in power. There is NOTHING benevolent about any government and why anyone would want to give them more power is beyond stupid but yet, here we are and everytime some other crisis arises the dumbest of the dumb propose the government "do something about it" oh they will alright.

I agree with Barnhardt. Obamacare was deliberately launched broken. It isn't supposed to work at all. Later, when we're all struggling to enlist in something we don't want and which still won't work, we'll be hit with the fines. Best thing to do is to demand that this horror be removed entirely.

I'm dropping out of the entire medical system all together.

I watched the health scare system kill both of my parents.

Stuff it up your fascistic asses Obama, Pelosi, and Reid et al, You're nothing but sorry assed megalomaniacs owned by banksters and the insurance/pharma mafia.

I call for mass civil disobedience.

We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark - that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

They are pretty much overloading the subsidized bottom end of the Obamacare spectrum.  It is going to get real expensive for those paying a full rate now that so many people will be going more often and for much less.  Someone has to pay for them one way or the other or there will be no service.

You can also bet on seeing a levelling of standard of care to  a lower deneominator. That´s the other factor needed to mark the system work. An element of rationing is in the cards.

You guys are assuming that's theres going to be some value in health care. No one has a clue how bad things will get. The analogy is DMV lines - except worse. You can see the end of a DMV line. You wont be able to see the end of the health care lines.

The entire left have been sold a BS line about it, even in the humor this article presents there's an assumption of *some* value to what people are paying for. When in fact everyone will be paying more to have the service levels 100 times worse than a DMV visit.

Got it?  Cost is going up and service is going to go down (both dramatically). If you have ever been in a DMV line and gotten that kind of service - that's what your health care system is going to be like.

That's what Obamacare is going to do to our current medical system. It's going to be worse actually because there will be less doctors, 10s of  millions pre-existing conditions and illegals will be in line ahead of you and your sick family when you need it.

Literally NO ONE has any idea how bad it's going to be.

Greetings. Question: So the Federal Government is the victim here? You seem to be using HuffPo as a de facto court. I am unclear on your premise.

I can not afford to pay for the ACA.  I want to work and really wanted to start my own small business but I can no longer see any reason to do so because I can not be profitable.  Can you advise as to the best course of action to take under the ACA?  I think many people want to know the answer to this question and it is a fair question to ask.  I appreciate your response in advance Sir.  Thank You.

You always have to be so polite over there when the terms "Fuck Off", "Go to Fucking Hell", "You Piece of Shit", and many others keep popping into my mind.  They posted the first comment.  Idiots.  I have shit to do tomorrow.  I will wait a few more minutes.  I just thought I would back your play lolmao500.

I just love it when ZHers go in to HuffPo at least in tandem.  No one really wants to deal with this airframe to this day.

I have a "bronze plan" $5k deductable with blue cross of Kalifornia now for about $400/mo for two people. They just sent me a letter saying my bronze plan is no longer offered but under Obozo care the same plan will cost me about $1,000 per month. There is only one insurance company in Kali offering in my area and guess who- Blue Cross! What a fucking train wreck this is going to be. I'm considering moving to Mexico. The drug cartels may be easier to cope with than this fucking nighmare of a country I'm living in now. By the way if you don't have shit here in Kalifornia don't worry! Just go down to the health and human services and pick up some insurance, no problem. I'm looking forward to filing my taxes for about six months straight and trying to figure out how much I need to pay for fucking health insurance based on my income?????

took a girl to the doctor in mexico. he sent us to the blood test lab. they took the blood, we got the results later that day, and went back to the doctor. he read the results, and determined that she had a bladder infection, and gave us a prescription. went to the pharmacy, and got 3 vials of antibiotic, 3 disposable syringes, and a week worth of antibiotic pills. total cost for the whole ordeal was around $100. that was a year ago, but the diagnosis was correct, and she was fine a week later.  the dental work is really reasonable too.  I'm expecting some kind of legislation, making it illegal for a U.S. citizen to seek (unauthorized) health care, in a foreign country.

Here in northern Greece it's the same. People go to F.Y.R.O.M. to get their teeth done, fill up their cars and make some groceries. The quality of the dentists there has risen dramatically whilst being about 5(!) times cheaper than those in Greece.  Also the distance from Thessaloniki to the first town in FYROM is only 141km. Local dentists cannot compete with them.

if they call them Macedonians they would have to see them as cousins, if not brethens. and the admission that Alexander the Great wasn't a Greek is... tricky, then he was the propagator of Hellenism, which was Anonymous's "US Citizenism" of that age, before it reverted to be a "blood" instead of a cultural thing

the funniest thing about Hellenism is that it was really the precursor of the "Oceanic Liberalism" of our age

Alexander made a big show of inter-cultural and inter-national marriages, of religious syncretism (i.e. you gods and our gods are the same), free trade in his empire, free flow of ideas, people, goods and services

he conquered, cut Gordius' knot, and we are still trying to find out what to do with the pieces lying around

I am retired and live in southern Mexico.  Lots pf things are cheaper: fresh food, rent, and services in particular.  Lawyers, doctors, dentists, and language tutors are dirt cheap compared to the USSA.  I have seen few signs of inflation of the peso though it has varied against the USD from 11.9 to 14.5 since I arrived.  A large percentage of doctors are homeopaths and those are the ones I would go to for any condition except for acute trauma.  Truth is that in 2.5 years I have been to a doctor for one visit.  She spent about half an hour with me and charged me USD 17.  She was certified as an MD and a surgeon.

OTOH, hard goods such appliances, vehicles, and electronics are much more expensive than in the USA due to high duties, a huge IVA, and general crony capitalism of a ruling elite.

I regard my health as my own responsibility and I avoid the petrochemical Big Pharma model.  Lots of immune system destroying crap here such as Monsanto GMO poison and being bathed in microwave radiation including so-called smart meters.  Had lots of chemtrails when I lived in Sonora, 150 miles south of the Arizona line.  Used to watch the unmarked jets lay down their aluminum, barium, strontium, and other assorted toxins through my 10x glasses.  But nothing since I moved way to the south (so far).  Only live 100 miles from the Pacific coast but I gave up fish as radioactive cesium, strontium, and iodine is not a part of my planned diet.  Renowned Lizard John D. Rockefeller used homeopathy to treat himself and his family while crushing the practice concurrently through bribing the major Medical Schools through grants if they were strictly allopathic.  Well, he was an oil man.  Our masters take particular delight when they can bullshit us into voluntarily paying top dollar for the privilege of being spied upon (smart phones) or poisoning ourselves (prescription and OTC drugs).

Isn't it interesting how a majority didn't want Obamacare when it was voted on, those in Congress that voted for it didn't know what was in it, and now an even larger majority don't want it.  And that smaller group of citizens that wanted it think this is an acceptable way for government to work, and those that don't want it sit back like powerless patsys and do nothing about it.

And it all ends up a distraction to maintain and increase SPENDING - the essence of our debt bomb that's going to get us all.  Americans are too stupid or, otherwise, bought off by entitlement checks and unsustainable government salaries and benefits at all levels.

Thursday night,  the "Daily Show" used a sound bite of Judge Nelson Wolff, a Bexar County Administrator (a county that encompasses San Antonio, Tx), who stated that the cost to the Hospital District for uninsured healthcare is $52 million a year.

The population of Bexar/San Antonio, Tx is about 1.8
million. A web search indicates about 350,000 are uninsured. That's about $150 a year per uninsured (although the Hospital District is not the only provider of healthcare to the uninsured, but the only one that is directly funded by property tax dollars).

The Hospital District is a collection of 16 facilities and is aka University Health System (UHS) .
Their 2013 budget = $994.4m, $243.6m of which is funded by property taxes.

If not to treat the uninsured, what is the need for $244m in property taxes?

If all will now be insured, supplemented with even more tax dollars, why should this property tax (and the massive federal subsidies they also  they receive) continue?

"If not to treat the uninsured, what is the need for $244m in property taxes?"

That's a great point and I'm sure most municipalities will continue to collect the tax.  They will just roll the surplus revenue into paying for bloated benefits for their employees.  If Obama gets his way, and the republicans lose the house in 2014, we are going to see taxes go sky high.  I think their dream tax would be a "one time" wealth tax.  SS reform with means testing seems likely, and if things get really bad, look for 401k / IRA nationalization.

When poor and in Arizona I had acted as my own Doctor many times. I went to the Mexican Swap Meet to acquire Antibiotics to treat infections. There was no real Public Health Care in the 1980s in Arizona.

Anecdotally most of the Doctors I have visted in California have proven themselves to be incompetent. It took over 20 Years to get a clinical and Empirical Diagnosis of Lyme Disease...something which I knew I had, without labeling it, One Doctor, who is a Mathematical Genius to add to her qualities, found it

I was treating the disease in Arizona. I knew inately that I was B-Complex deficient and, thus, Injected massive quantities of that under my own care. Of course the Doctors here, tested, found the deficiency, and did the same treatment.

But I interview Doctors critically now. I ask them a Sophmore Calculus question. Most cannot answer it and are fired on the spot as it is applicable as a model of the Human Body.

I check them out psychologically. I give them a test using a joke. If they fail...most do...then I fire them.

Here is the joke. They call the person that Graduates at the very Top of the Medical School Class a Valedictorian,

So what do they call the student that graduates at the VERY BOTTOM of the Medical School Class?

DOCTOR.

If they take offense then I know that they did not graduate at the top, or near the top, of the Medical School Class. In fact I am certain that they graduated near the bottom or at the bottom.

If they laugh it is a decent sign.

By the way...Your argument is a Red Herrring Fallacy. This is the United States and NOT CHINA.

So get real.

I do not understand the Down Arrows, Heath Care as a Cash Business is the way it needs to be. Remove Insurance Capital from Health Care and the costs will decrease substantially.

Health Care costs accelerated beginning with Medicare in 1965. The 20% Co Pay is what the treatment actually cost. The other 80% was a Welfare Check cut to the Doctors by the Government. Upon passage of the Medicare Act of 1965 is the moment when Health Care costs in America began to explode.

Anytime Insurance Companies and/or Government gets involved the consequence is that the prices for goods and services increase accordingly. Look at Student Loan Growth against that of College Tuition Growth. Doesn't that clue the least observant in? Are we that fucking blind?

Maybe some type of hybrid set-up where people pay cash up front for their routine care. I can't help but think that something along the lines of a high deductible, catastrophic plan with an HSA is the way to go.

Why not just get the government out of it and let the free market sort it out.  US just about had socialized healtlhcare BEFORE obamacare.  There is that group of doctors (Missouri, I think)  that do not accept any gov't anything.  They say they are making more money than before and can charge incredibly less to patients.
