Dylan Ratigan Rages Over "The Extraction Of America" And The Bought-Off Congress
It's been a while since Dylan Ratigan made some headlines but the farce under way in Washington reminded us of his epic 'falling over the edge' rant from 2011. In a Santelli-esque rage, Ratigan loses it over the banking, trade, and taxation that is draining America of everything and how nothing will ever change as the Congress is completely bought-off. Both political parties are to blame but "until we get the money out of politics" there is no policy that will fix the mess that we are in, he exclaims (and is once again proven rigfht today). The sad truth is these kind of honest truth moments are few and far between on the mainstream media (though we suspect will increase as reality sinks in)... and Ratigan's "mathematical facts" and vehemence make this must watch on a day when the US equity market hovers incredulously near all-time highs.

Unfortunately they don't understand the circular logic of "money in politics" - there will always be money in politics as long as your policies are intruding on money. The ONLY way to get money out of politics is to roll back the involvement of the Federal Government such that there is no longer an advantage in buying off every single fucking representative in Washington from the President to the Presidential Toilet Cleaner.

If you want private money out of politics, you will need to replace (at least part of) it with public (i.e. taxpayer) money to fund political party, as it is done in many European countries (oh the horror!).
Is this acceptable in the US? Is it even realistic? I don't believe so. This US system is rotten to the core by the power of the lobbies and nothing will change until the whole edifice crumbles under its own weight. If that doesn't happen in two days, it'll happen soon enough regardless of all the current drama. in the mean time watch out for all those swap deals China is making with the ECB and many of other central banks around the world. Watch out for all these trade agreements as well. The US is progressively its "exhorbitant competitive advantage" a.k.a. the US dollar as the world's reserve currency while its leaders keep arguing of the sales tax on medical devices...

Ron Paul came pretty close...it wasn't money that limited his run, it was exclusion from the debate platfrom, which was probably a result of his sane, intelligent arguments.

Ratigan thinks Obama needs to take authority because Congress is bought???? WTF??? Obama is bought off more than most. His point about the corruption of polictical leaders by money is wholly accurate, but he hasn't the first fucking clue how to fix it. It sure as hell ain't coming from THIS President and won't happen by ANY law or Constitutional amendment passed by Congress to rein itself in. It's only going to happen when 2/3rd's of the states force it upon them.
And that is the upside to cutting off SNAP, and then rest of the perverse purse strings that bind and behold the State governments to Washington DC -- motivation of the local criminal whores to act against the DC carpetbaggers out of a desire for self preservation.
obama isn't any more corrupt than the rest of congress, or the VP for that matter, nor any more or less corrupt than McRomney...they're all cut from the same cloth.
But his valid point was that the way things are now, it would take a heroic prez to stand up and say "enough!" to bring about any significant change. You know why he was quit/fired/transferred from CNBC don't you. During the 2007 recession (really depression that is still on going), he told the public via CNBC non scripted truth about what was really going on and they couldn't allow it. And he wouldn't do it so he was quit/fired/transferred to MSNBC. He's telling the truth, he really is. The US is being drained and siphoned of it's capital both intellectually and monetarily. Because we have politicians and leaders in the community that are looking out for themselves. They are only looking at the US as a big trough to feed and once done they jump and leave to better pastures (the elite and rich). Some of them are smart people. Some of them would have realized that this posting is very misleading in that the clip being shown here is NOT in relation to the current event, but from many years back. I'm not saying it doesnt' still ring true, but I don't see the reason to not correct this post.

While the analysis provided by Dylan Ratigan was mostly correct, there are NO practical ways to solve the double-bind paradoxes. The political processes of the whole Anglo-American world are trapped inside of probably fatal "Catch 22s," where its not possible to solve those FUNDING of politics problems.
Inside the Canadian context, I have spent the last 30 years working on the problems with regard to the funding of the political processes, including two court cases against the government over the laws controlling that funding, which took up at total of 15 years.
My conclusion is that "democracy" is already dead, as proven by how 99% of Canadian taxpayers are not interested in claiming their own political tax credits! The people in power, controlling the big political parties, therefore control the government, to continue lying and threatening, and so, they shall effectively be able continue their real systems, until they get so mad that they destroy themselves.
There is a combined dance between the ruling classes backing up huge lies, with lots of violence, and the masses of people, who for many generations have adapted to live inside of that well-established system of legalized lies, backed by legalized violence. The established systems are ALREADY more than 99% crazy and corrupt, with the way that the monetary and taxation systems work being the main manifestation of that. However, since they ARE already almost totally crazy and corrupt, there are are no ways now to fix those problems.
For several decades, I have been working on these problems as best I could, and my conclusion now is that there is nothing I can actually do but to wait and watch as things automatically get worse, faster.

Personally, I think we are past the point of no return. The scorched earth policy of free trade has done its damage. There's very little left to save at this point. We will see more and more municipal bankruptcies like Detroit going forward. More decaying and rotting infrastructure. More and more unemployed until finally the whole damn country just implodes. And right up until that last day the talking heads will be arguing about what'd we do wrong, where'd we go wrong, when the answer is the 10 ton elephant right there in the studio.
