Jim Rogers Blasts "This Is Going To End Badly... And The Rest Of The World Knows It"

Tyler Durden's picture

The only thing exceptional about the USA is "its the largest debtor nation in the history of the world" is how Jim Rogers begins this brief interview with RT and he doesnt back away from the rhetoric. The sad truth, he notes, is that the US "has been kicking the can down the road for years..." how do you think we got so much debt, he chides. "Every year that goes by we go deeper and deeper into debt," adding, rather ominously, that it "will be solved one way or another." They will kick the can once more; then next week, we will be told that the problem is fixed and compromise is here. However, Rogers warns, eventually the market is going to turn away; "this is going to end badly... and the rest of the world knows it."

For some clarifying thought before an onslaught of headline hockey in US equity markets, Rogers comments are a must view to comprehend the game we are playing...

is it me or does his comments contradict themselves?

How can you talk about the world looking for an alternative to the dollar in one breath and talk about owners of the dollar (of which he is one)  not concerning themselves with what is going on in another?

the govt needs to be shutdown

Tue, 10/15/2013 - 22:04 | 4059034 JR
JR's picture

Obamacare supporters don’t even have to kick the can down the road to get what they want in that the media, in spectacular ways, does the job for them; trashing Republicans as never before and filling the airwaves with monstrous lies about the program.

Fewer than two dozen lefties showed up today for a “Budget Shutdown” protest on Capitol Hill, a rally orchestrated by the White House in hopes of turning its left-leaning Organizing for America (OFA) into a major political force like the grassroots-driven Tea Party (the OFA handful was greeted with a large sign attacking the Tea Party as "Tea-Tards)."

Sort of like the liberals’ Climate Change rally in August, reports John Nolte, where not a single person showed.

“Which begs the question: where are the Republicans anyway?” in that the leadership shows a total lack of response to the majority of Americans who want the nightmare of Obamacare stopped. Do they serve, instead of their constituents, the same banking cartel that carried Lenin on the train to Russia to establish Communism?

As an American Medical Association pamphlet warned in 1945, "Would socialized medicine lead to socialization of other phases of life? Lenin thought so. He declared socialized medicine is the keystone to the arch of the socialist state."

Ben Sasse, president of Midland University who is running for U.S. Senate in Nebraska, brings home the point thatObamacare is a disaster and the American people know it. Republicans have never had a more teachable moment than the one they have now, between the shutdown of the government and the disastrous rollout of Obamacare…

“Why don’t Republicans have a strategy to hammer this message every day?”:

the message that “Consumers who are lucky enough to get through the system are stunned to learn that their premiums have skyrocketed by thousands of dollars. One Pennsylvania mother says that she can either pay her increased premiums or pay for her kids to eat, but she can’t do both,”

that “Extremely personal information has already leaked from the system in Minnesota. Software security experts from McAfee predict millions of identity theft victims. And one of the healthcare exchanges was forced to acknowledge that information collected from patients will be shared with law enforcement.”

Says Sasse: “I know the Republican establishment never wanted a shutdown fight over Obamacare. But this is a fight we must win. Where is Minority Leader Mitch McConnell? Where is the RNC? Why aren’t Republicans telling the very real human stories of people losing their jobs and their doctors because of Obamacare? The president guaranteed that by 2013 the average family would see premiums reduced by $2,500. In reality, the average family has seen their premiums jacked up by $2,900, an eye-popping $5,400 miscalculation. What other predictions will prove to be horribly off?”

He adds: “When this debate began, President Obama guaranteed Americans that if we like our current insurance policies, we can keep them. If we like our current doctors, we can stay with them.

Since then, millions have been kicked off their company insurance. More than 750,000 New Jersey residents have been notified that their former policies no longer meet new government mandates and will be discontinued. Thousands more have seen hours reduced and their coverage evaporate, as employers struggle to deal with incomprehensible new federal rules. Most alarmingly, almost one-third of doctors report their unwillingness to accept patients from newly expanded governmental programs.”

Warns Sasses:This is an important time in the life of our country. Republicans should embrace this moment, not hide from it.”

At the same time that Obama is stripping the House of its constitutional power over the government’s purse strings, Lt. Col (Retired) Allen West who served 22 years in the US Army and represented Florida's 22nd Congressional District in the US House of Representatives from 2011-2013, is warning Americans that Obama’s next power grab is to “ask Congress to surrender its constitutional authority and grant him ‘Fast Track’ Trade Promotion Authority.

“And,” he says, “House Republicans are inexplicably ready to give it to him.”

Says West, “President Obama wants fast track power so he can conclude the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), an expansive system of global governance that would deal a mortal blow to American sovereignty and our Constitution.

“Fast track overrides the Constitution once -- the Trans-Pacific Partnership overrides it forever.”

Admittedly we have some big gov type republicans but I see many of them speaking about this subject everyday. They have been hammering on Obamacare and spending for years but the press won't give them the time of day other than to point out how uncaring they are. This why people like Cruz are so important. they know they are fighting a battle they have few odds of winning but they also understand, if not now when and if not them, who? Th econservative faction of this country is a resistance movement rather than an ideological party actually pushing an agenda. We have simply been making excuses and playing nice for far too many years.

A number of the same GOP jerkoffs who vehemently are protesting the ACA are the same people who voted for the largest unfunded bill (MMA Act of 2003 or Medicare Part D) which will cost over $850B the next ten years and is the single most expensive bill since Medicare was passed in '65.

You don't have to tell me that most of these republicans are worthless. I'm simply saying that there are a few trying to push back,, you know, they ones so lovingly referred to as tea baggers, and those that do scream to the gods about what is happening are largely ignored by the MSM other than to disparage them as the same haters that have always been trying to kill the sick and starve poor, etc. We know the bulk of these politiicains are corrupt self serving criminals. Its just if we see some that at least appear to be trying to do the right thing we should support them. The reason so many are corruopt is because it doesn't pay to do the right thing. Until it does we are going to get more of the same.

I'm sure the answer, as it has been for years, is more compromise. Like that isn't what got us this far. Obama has finally pulled the curtains back and pretty much said fuck compromise, "its my way or the highway". Stupid republicans have always felt that their bills needed bipartisan support to be effective, even when they had the votes to do it otherwise. Obama and the democrats would be much happier if republicans would just go home. I'm at that point myself, in that if they can't stand for the principles for which they were elected, they are doing more damage to conservative principles that good. Simply slowing down this mudslide accomplishes nothing but time for some of them to steal a little more.

I think it's already been pointed out that we could be funneling 100% and it still wouldn't do the job.

Trouble is is that we're conracting, and the contraction shows a LONG road ahead, one that a grow-or-die system just isn't capable of traversing.  So, yes, the ONLY conclusion is that it's "Over."

Again, I would hope that we understand what the exponential function means and that in the future humans don't fall for the perpetual growth paradigm.

Nicely put.

It's all about energy, no? The Americas have energy potential to fuel a little bit more but I don't believe that will be a `LONG road`, rather a short path. I predict that they will have to curb population growth dramatically roughly 10 yrs before the tragic conclusion. That's what I'm watching out for. They will attempt to make it appear as a grass roots movement lead by 'The People' but we know what's going on, no?

Until that, it's balls to the walls.

They say all truths will come forward in the end times. Well, lets hope the truths continue to come forth from the brave hearts that see there is no other way than to join as the ONE all are, and fight the beast that is destroying the entire matrix. And of course, it all does not suddenly end.

He said it plain and clear, "Money IN politics IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL IN POLITICS...it is corruption at it's worst...until we step up and kick that out of the park...it's going to be the same system all the way."

Wow. On main stream media. Real truth in the news. Imagine that.:

Paying taxes which is feeding the people who rampaged through grocery stories trying to get even more "free stuff" is an affront to any decent person.

The anger displayed by a very well-dressed lady, with hair and nails to match when her food card was rejected made me blood boil as a tax payer.  Here she is with no job and 5 kids and a deadbeat dead, healthy as a horse and yet she is indignant that 24 hours might ellapse before she can get free food (housing/medical).

And this .... while most of us are working harder than we ever have, under unbelievable stress in this environment, and our taxes, especially we who were forced to be "self employed, independent contractors" are 7000 a year for a 30 grand income - a huge tax fee. Yet, this lady may sit around all day and get subsidies.  It really is unfair.  Job market is the reason possibly but just the same, the ungratefulness was hard to miss.

Work isn't going to solve anything if the ideas behind a society are sick.

People cheat the system because they've been brought up to look out for themselves first. Through experiences, they've found the best way for them to get through life.

You have to fix the mindset of people: you need to have a sound moral foundation and a society that provides real opportunity through learning and experience, and then you'll see a turnaround.

Or, we can just cheat, lie, steal, defraud, medicate, mal-socialize, and just "work" for the sake of working and think that society will turnaround.

I can employ 100 people to make chocolate flavored shit sandwiches, they've got jobs; but what the hell are they making?  People need 3 major things in life:  Education, Direction, and Purpose.

If you don't have those, you're setting up any society for failure in the long run.

There was a very good reason the Jewish people who came to America and other countries changed their last names.  Having a Canadian flag on your luggage became a common suggestion from others when travelling abroad.

All Americans, regardless of their status in life, are going to pay dearly for this recklessly-abandoned responsibility to uphold justice.

The blow back may not be evident initially but when the tables turn, and they have already begun (we are being toyed with, make no mistake about it, and it is becoming fashionable to fuck-with-Americans) to kick the victim, because their gain required our loss.

Rather than staring into sad eyes or the eyes of the willingly cooperative and every so grateful witnesses, collaborators, their swift elimination and moving "forward" is what history has shown happens, at the highest ranks especially.  That is when heart attacks or accidents are necessary to rid a constant remember of an act one wants to forget.  The path to a global economy has cost a few countries their children - this is not about God - is greed in steroidal overdrive, unthinkable.

Canadians and Americans, middle class everywhere will go the way of the Mayans in 50 years.  They have been chosen as the sacrficial lamb and their possessions are being confiscated any way possible as we speak.

Any other Canadians in here will say the same - for 50 years, the Americans have been the rich kids on the block and along with their money came their demands and high expectations.  It became obvious to me as a child, no one likes Americans.  It's the way they were presented in the news, I think.  A roll-of-the-eyes tone of voice, "can you believe that?" while shaking to clear their brain, "they're just giving it away on Park Avenue" Americans, so dumb yet so confident.

The politicians are either under duress (drugged or threatened) or they have allowed the monopolists to do as they please with the American wealth and her citizens.

I am in full panic mode and feel a need to run back across the border which makes me so angry because I like it here in Calif where the sun aways shines.  I may just drive off Big Sur like Thelma because the dominos will fall up there too and the same sorry situation is unfolding as if the middle class are as meaningless as cows in a pasture.  After they steal our stuff, that is.  They were sure to also take everyone's job and open the gates of predatory lenders while we were fighting for our lives in a jobless economy, that is how special they are. (I'm sorry)

Hmm.  And how much money have you made in comparison to Comrade Rogers, mr. limp-wristy capitalist tenpole?

I agree with this controversial commentator.  If I figured out predatory lending was taking place at a pace and extent that it would collapse the economy in 2006, Mr. Rogers did as well.  Do you think they discussed globalization, these men at the top of the pyramid and how they would finance it?  Withdrawal of 4 trillion dollars in investments from the USA and into emerging economies has taken place, along tens of millions of jobs/tax revenue.  Do you think this fine gentleman, Mr. Rogers, realized the impact it would have on American soil?  Sure he did!  He was part of it.

So now, we have Indians and Filipinos answering customer service calls. JP Morgan owns the largest medical records transcription company and within 2 years, the work will be done by these people.

Mr. Rogers, you gave your consent when you made $ off the misfortune of the Americans.  Your shock and dismay at the events is almost amusing if it did not mean the lives of a few hundred million people would not be dumped into the gutter so you could live a little nicer of a live, have a few more 0s at the end of your balance all in the name of success (excess).  Thanks for nothing.

Obama eats his own dog. He autofellates.

It is not about inflation.

It is not about deflation.

Hell it isn't even about stagflation.

Obama wants everyone to experience what he does.

So Obamanomics is modeled on AUTOFELATIO-N. Yes its Autofelation.

Look the term up on Wikipedia and prepare to vomit when you see the picture of the Man from Nantucket.

Autofelatio is performing Oral Sex upon one's self.

The comment to which I was responding stated that Obama eats Dog. I am writing that he eats his own dog as the homosexual which he is.

That is pretty sick as he is both the one giving and receiving.

So Obamanomics is about autofelation.

Did that bring a clarity to my post?

Anyone who's run a business knows this dilemma.  If you have ONE customer, or even one customer who provides 95% of your revenue, he pretty much owns you.  Over time, this customer begins to abuse the agreed terms of payment, and you're reluctant to call him on it because- even though he's a fkn deadbeat, he's still 95% of your income stream.  His debt becomes your problem.  Eventually, his debt becomes your debt, and you are enslaved.

The leaders of China and Russia are at least, I assume, as smart as I am.  They know they have to cut and run before this "customer" consumes them whole.

Forgive me if this is too simple an analogy.  I'm a simple guy.

Teabagging is the Homosexual Act of rubbing one's scrotum on another man's face.

The Fags use that as a slur as they know that most of the Conservative Right Wing are clueless to the meaning.

In this way the insult serves a dual purpose in demonstrating that the members of the Tea Party are ignorant as well as they are Homosexuals.

Do you really mean that? If you do then that is very, very sick.

If someone were to call me that to my face I may have to disarm them and use the weapon that they were using to assaut me.

That way one can get away with the murder as you tell the Police that you disarmed them and shot them with their own weapon in Self Defense.

Never register a Gun. All Guns are Throwaways.

If he assaulted you with his enlarged teabag could you bring yourself to grab it, Tom? Then, once cradled as such could you, would you assault him with it, how? At what point could this be called playful rough housing or, rather, foreplay? Might it transform into a heartfelt, hungry embrace? I know you wrestle with these conflicts deep within. Are we not very, very sick before we get better? Do you want to be better, Tom?

Marina, the interviewer, has a most peculiar accent. It's like a carnival mirror reflection of an Ohio newscastress. It's almost there but makes me think how hard it must be for russians to sound american, and why? I'm not complaining. How troll-like of me to go on such a distracting side issue. Speaking of which, um, NSA, how do I get paid to pop up with distracting side issues that diffuse the damaging news that can't be controlled, yet?

I mean I'm not, like, asking for a E-5 income package. Perhaps just shoot me the talking points and pay me by the word when my flummery and smoke satisfies the agenda, your agenda, the agenda of the Bluebloods, team players, like you?

The current meme is fear. Those who go searching for something to be afraid of will certainly find it. There are many things that we "could" be afraid of and people act in fairly predictable ways when they are afraid ... mostly because they don't see the bigger picture, understand what it means and accept it for what it is.

OK, sure money is fake and the world/universe is a lot bigger and more complicated than people know or frankly want to know... so it seems... so they wrap themselves up in the comfort of the irrelevant. There are people enslaved to maintain the (money) system, who in turn enslave those who work and produce ... but to what end. We have more people than we need to work and produce as long as we use technology to help us. We also have more than enough people to consume. Does it matter? I think some people think so ...  but that too is minutia.

Are we here for our benefit or someone else's? Or both? When we have learned all we can from a lesson then we need a new lesson. The game will be changed.

I do not know how you figure that to be so.  One can have an income in a land where the cost of living is adjusted to allow the tax paying citizen to cover reasonable costs to survive and have enough left over to do what else in life there is to do, vacation, shop, get education.  The cost of living is far too high in America.  It is necessary to go into debt to live in a 1st world nation which, 3 generations ago, started from the ground.

Big ticket items aside, there is plenty of money in the world; but, the flow (lending, employing, spending) has ceased --- it is being hoarded.  Letting it lose (opening lending gates in predatory fashion) is the other extreme (and at this point would destory dollar, I believe).

Trouble with the elite is they want it ~all~ and they want it ~now~  College fraternity members with graying hair and all the right connections.  Mirror Mirror On the Wall~
