So Much For Negotiating: White House Rejects House Republican Proposal

Tyler Durden's picture
Before Boehner and his merry men even had a chance to explain themselves, the White House has pre-empted...
Between Boehner's "Senate bill is hand grenade" and Van Hollen's "House Bill is reckless" comments, how anyone can argue we are getting closer to deal is beyond us... Obama is at least consistent - "unconditional surrender of default" remains the only play for now...

WATERLOO playbook ... is still the same tactics ... nothing new under the sun

This is better then a dry ice bomb at an airport!

Or a nuclear hand grenade with a blast radius of 100 ft. but the GI can only throw it 20 ft. haha

It's all for pure theater, to try & convince the voter rabble that they really, really, really tried not to cave to NerObama's unconditional ultimatum, when in fact, both "different" parties have their marionette strings pulled by the same entities & people behind the stage.

A deal will be announced between now and the point in time that the State Run Mainstream Media has declared as TEOTWAWKI.

Now Kick-That-Can & FORWARD!

RSloane's picture

Of course its pure theater. Blue Team/Red Team promoters are just caught in the dramatic moment, poor things.

BigRedRider's picture

I noticed McConnell and Reid talking in the Senate last night about the ongoing negotiations.  Reid had a blue tie and McConnell had a red tie.  Not that's snarky.

RSloane's picture

LOL yes it is. I ddn't catch that bit, sorry I missed it.

Chicken. Thats all it comes down to. If the crash happens, we have a defacto balanced budget non-amendment. Bring back the ration cards.

El Vaquero's picture

Like I say, if they want to get rid of Obamacare, they could simply give the asshole in the White House everything he wants, then turn around and do everything in their power to make him enforce every single provision.  The entire thing is one big fucking train wreck, and it would be nice if he were the conductor.

Headbanger's picture

It's more clear now that Obama wants to wreck the Federal Government to make way for his Socialist Paradise.

Welcome Comrades,

We'll be welcoming the Minutemen soon enough. One million Minuteman...and women, with AR's and the like surrounding the Capital and the White House. Don't Tread On Me!

kralizec's picture

Rather obvious, isn't it?

Can't convince the great unwashed of that though...

Oh well, too bad so sad.

Canadian Dirtlump's picture

It seems the only logical way to look at it, indeed, is that they are trying to engineer a spectacular calamity. I can't see any other explanation. Fine, Berri, may be a drug addled bum hacker, but his bosses certainly aren't idiots so one can't chalk this up to simple boobery.

Kirk2NCC1701's picture

You must mean "...Obama wants to wreck the Federal Government to make way for the NWO."

Per his Sponsors' instructions.  Obama -- the Manchurian Candidate.

topshelfstuff's picture

Anyone thinking this is nothing more than a Charade? and that a Default is indeed going to happen, if only short-term, a kinda test-run and also a payback for the G-20 brush-off, and recent speaking out boldly to the US, like Brazil's Pres did at the UN (just one example)

The thing is, the damage to the USD is already done, as far as deserving to maintain its position of World's Reserve Currency...just think how the rest of the world views DC.'s actions

Socialism? Wouldn't that be nice! Socialists spend money on people. This government spends money on war, security theater, and corporate welfare.

No, I'm not falling for this. I know that they won't let me have my day in the sun ... I just know it somehow ...

Beware, GOP!  You are being set up to be the Patsy for 2014 Mid-Term Elections.

Tea Party will be called worse than "Stubborn minority" in due course.  Perhaps even by "Mainstream Republicans".

Long Tar, Feathers and Rope, as the 'merican masses are so damn uninformed and so malleable.

James-Morrison's picture

No, the GOP has precedent.
They have to pass the bill to see what's in it.
Surely Bronco and the Blue Boys, understand that song.

Unconditional surrender is what the banks want.  And what the banks want, they will get.  Too bad little Red Teamers, you don't get to pretend you give a shit this time.  Banker bonuses are more important than your jobs.  But don't worry, you'll be well taken care of by Uncle Jamie and Aunt Lloyd if you lose your cush federal job, and of course you have that nice pension and health care for life so it isn't so bad.

RSloane's picture

Red Teamers? Ah that's right, Blue Teamers have no vested interest in this at all.

LetThemEatRand's picture

Blue Teamers have already unconditionally surrended to the banks and have convinced their stupid voters that the debt ceiling is a good thing.  Red Teamers are pretending they have not unconditionally surrended to the banks and that they don't want to raise the debt ceiling.  Some here (you?) still seem to think the Red Teamers give a shit and that this isn't all a show.  I'm sorry to break the news....

RSloane's picture

Yes of course I must believe that because you said so. Which is why I posted above that its all theater. Every single minute of it.

Dr. No's picture

This issue will cost Boehner the speakership, which is good.  My recommendation:  pass a bill which requires payment of the debt and release enough funds to do that (and only that).  The Senate and Prez will veto.  This will then give Repubs some traction when Obama decides to default on debt payments.

We was just a weasel who cried wolf too many times.

Meat Hammer's picture

Dr. No, I'm sure they discussed that at the last orgy and then decided against it...right before they shot all the hookers at the party who heard everything.

Dr. No's picture

It would seem this situation has been engineered to burn Boehner.  Which, I like.  His TARP plea cannot be forgiven.

RSloane's picture

Sadly, I would be more inclined to believe that happened than I would earnest negotiations on behalf of the US citizens are taking place. +1 for style.

Magnix's picture

Read his's all in there. It never was a secret. Then go what the 2016 documentary that did a followup on the biography. That will tell you all you need to know.

Col_Sanders's picture

Why do that?  The Constitution already requires payment of the debts.

And there is plenty of tax revenue to do that, and pay for much, but not all, of the rest of the budget.

Let the president decide what gets cut.  He wants to be the man, let him be the man.

Keyser's picture

I'll wager a dollar vs a donut that this time tomorrow the federal government will still be shut down. The Obama admin WANTS the markets to tank.

Tsar Pointless's picture

I think the bankster gangsters want the market to tank, and this administration is just along for the ride.

Keep your eye on the ball and not the Red and Blue teams playing the game, Keyser.

Singelguy's picture

Yup, how much do want to bet that Goldman and JPM have shorted the market? As soon as the market crashes, they cash in, make a fortune and the following day a deal is miracuously announced!

j0nx's picture

Same for the congress shitbirds. How much money was saved or made by members of congress during the TARP debacle? Same goes for this shit. Crooks all and all should be locked the fuck up.

earnyermoney's picture

Then Barry announces at his Presser on the deal that it's a good time to buy stocks.

jtz5's picture

Couldn't agree more.  Then, the administration blames the stock market fallout, re-entry into recession, future job layoffs, etc. all on the Republicans.

All this just to be re-elected in 2014 and control all 3 branches...

ElvisDog's picture

Here's the problem with that scenario. If what you wrote happens, the dumping of Treasuries by foreign governments will accelerate, because it will be crystal clear that there will be no restraint to U.S. fiscal spending. Interest rates will rise across the boards and the whole system will collapse. If it happened right away the Dems with their MSM lackeys might pin it on the Republicans. But it will probably take months to play out, and the Democrats will own the collapse.

El Vaquero's picture

The problem with the blame game here is that, no matter the party in power, spending is good if it's for their little pet projects.  Spending is bad when they're not in power.  Same shit, different flavor, but you will eat it no matter whether it came out of a red asshole or a blue asshole.
