If you are white, working middle class, and middle aged, your rights consist only of paying for everything everyone else wants.

The wealthy want MOAR wealth and power, so pay.

The poor want free food, education, health care, cars, phones, living quarters, children, etc, so pay.

The cops want to fully fund their retirement systems, so pay.

The health care system wants you sick, so the system sells you food that makes you sick, medicines that make you kill, and innumerable ways you can poison your own home and environment, so pay.

The government wants spy centers, endless wars, a military big enough to destroy the planet multiple times over, vote buying (see above), drones to watch your every move, and your inability to resist them on any level, so pay.

What's that you say?  You think 40% of your income is too much for government to take?  You don't like what your being made to pay for?  You don't appreciate what you have?  Then we'll have to put you in a cage.

Great plan BUT impossible.  You can't get away from these low life parasitic son of bitches!  They just figure out ways to keep coming and taking more.  They own the system, you are in the system, therefore, they own you!

Only one way out.  We all know what it is.  No one wants to talk about it or follow through.  At some point they will push us until we have no choice.  They will wait until there are not enough of us left to make much of a difference.

Natural progression of things.  Deterioration and winding down.  Pretty sure Newton wrote something on that.

We cannot continue to work on their ground......in their ring.......that they control.  Completely losing situation.  Can't fight a great white shark in the water.  We are NEVER, EVER, EVER going to win in Washington EVER again!  Waste of time.

We don't have to win in Washington. That battle was lost in 1913. We have to win in our own homes.

We need to teach our children to abhor debt.  Teach them financial sense.  How to balance a checkbook. Make them earn their money.  Make them make hard choices with that money.  Teach them to think for themselves. Teach them to hunt, grow things, and fight.  Teach them how to win, and let them know winning is a good thing. Teach them how to lose, and how to recover. Teach them what community means. Teach them about family.

Show them the pictures of people screaming when the EBT cards went dark this weekend.  Show them the graphs of how it is easier to sit on your ass than work in this country. Show them your tax return or paystub that shows how much of your income goes to this faulty government. Ask them what they think and make them explain their answers.

And maybe, just maybe, my great-grandkids will actually have a decent life on this rock.

Remember, the Red Shield planned this 200+ years ago.  It will take just as long to turn it around.

About five (?) years ago, a movie came out aimed primarily at the Christian demographic titled 'Nazareth', and, indeed, most of it will appeal only to those who are Christians.

There is, however, a scene in that movie that is instructive, interesting, and relevant to the instant discussion where the Roman tax collectors dropped by.

Things haven't changed in 2,000 years, and if you think TPTB are going to leave the peaceful Hobbits living quietly in The Shire (such as you and your children) alone, you should rent Nazareth.

Indeed, if I had limited resources to collect taxes, I would send them to The Shire first, before sending them to Detroit.

Looking at Treasury debt distribution of $12 T public outstanding debt (see TD link http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/charts/principal/principal_debt.htm) they have a lot further to go w/ QE than I anticipated:

Bills - $1.5 T

Notes - $7.8 T

Bonds - $1.4 T

TIPS - $1 T

Fed only owns $2.2 T of the $10+ T Notes/Bonds/TIPS public outstanding...this coupled with net ouflows in 2013 (-$40 Billion Jan-July) of foreigners from Treasury debt (according to TIC data...  http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/slt2d.txt) after huge inflows from '08-'12 ($500-$750 Billion anually...http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/shlhistdat.html)...seems logical Fed's QE coupled w/ lower Treasury issuance is soaking up Treasury's and foreigners need not continue increasing...but did note that higher yields on the 10yr did correspond w/ the downturn in foreign Treasury ownership starting in March...if this trend continues, Janet woud seem obliged to increase QE to avoid the interest rate armageddon 3+% 10yr could wreak on 'Merica.

It is imperative that we understand, first of all, that “Everything the state is capable of doing it does through compulsion and the application of force.”  Even apologists for the state cannot deny this fact.

Neither can its apologists deny (at least convincingly) that “every State has been and is a class State, and every theory of the State has been and is a class theory,”i  acknowledgement of which can be found as far back as Plato, who, having addressed the settlement of formerly nomadic tribes in The Statesman, depicts – with obvious approval – their conquest and subjugation in The Republic:

Plato gives us a mythological yet very pointed description of the conquest itself, when dealing with the origin of the “earthborn,” the ruling class of the best city. Their victorious march into the city, previously founded by the tradesmen and workers, it described as follows: “After having armed and trained the earthborn, let us now make them advance, under the command of the guardians, till they ar-rive in the city. Then let them look round to find out the best place for their camp – the spot that is most suitable for keeping down the inhabitants, should anyone show unwillingness to obey the law, and for holding back external enemies who may come down like wolves on the fold.” This short but triumphant tale of the subjugation of a sedentary population by a conquering war horde … must be kept in mind when we interpret Plato’s reiterated insistence that good rulers ... are patriarchal shepherds of men and that the true political art, the art of ruling, is a kind of herdsmanship, i.e., the art of managing and keeping down human cattle.ii

The State IS about violence.

"War is the Health of the State." -Randolph Bourne

And, while "libetarians" don't like to hear it, "property rights" are enforced by the State, and as such, the State is given the ability to kill in order to enforce such rights.

Yes, the state is about violence: specifically, initiated violence, otherwise known as aggression, the fight against which is the heart and soul of libertarianism:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-aggression_principle

What you obiously don't understand is that "War is the Health of the State" because property is all it wants, beginning with the conquest of land and the subjugation of its inhabitants, perpetuated by the theft of taxation, and ending in the conjuring of pseudo-property — aka paper money — to make up the difference between what can be extracted and what, because of its insatiable appetite, the state demands.

It's all about the "political means" trumping the "economic means," in other words, and the ultimate futility of attempting to do so, at least as the survival of our species is concerned.  And until and unless you understand this, you have no idea what you're talking about.

So get a grip . . .

Debt, schmebt...$17T or $34T...does anyone at this late stage of the game think this is fixable.  First step would be for Congress to require that the Fed government pass a balanced budget EVERY year within 5 years....then we could start to talk about debt ceilings...no balanced budget, nothing left to do but watch this kubuki theater that even the stock market doesn't fear anymore.
