Boehner Caves: Said To Agree To Senate Plan
Just out from the NRO's Robert Costa:
Per Sen sources, Boehner has agreed to take up the Senate's plan and allow it to pass with Dem votes.

Assuming the above is accurate, the debt ceiling "debate" has just ended with Boehner folding like a cheap lawn chair again as he did during the Fiscal Cliff "negotiations", the GOP getting nothing, the Democrats getting everything they wanted, and US credibility - having taken the reserve currency to the edge - shaken now more than ever.

Nowadays, in good ole USA, unless you have vituperated your political rival into being the worst type of living specimen in the world you don't feel you're a hero. You have to make your opponent look like DIRT to feel like John Wayne; the antithesis of the greek meme.
So yes, these guys are good in a cynical sort of way ; because THEY LET THEIR OPPOSITION SHOW THE WORLD HOW SMALL THEY TRULY ARE. Even Obama looks like a giant when his rival acts like he is a pygmy.

The Establishment Republicans have lost all credibility with the people. If Boehner puts this measure to a full vote of the House and the conservative House members who have been on our side do not move to remove Boehner as speaker, then their credibility is on the line as well.
Obamacare is the largest surge to destroy the Republic since the civil war and if that’s not enough to force congressmen to defy their government, then you can write the epitaph for Madison’s government this very week.

Because a default would cause a remonitization of gold via replacing UST as collateralizing instruments. You'd need to use a true international currency (gold or silver) to post collateral.

Once again Boner can't sustain his rigid stance, going soft at the most crucial moment. Time and time again his initial firmness fades and his stance increasingly softens as negotiations ensue. He will now walk away with a forced smile knowing full well he cannot nor will he ever be able to satisfy anoyone's needs, much less his own. Must be difficult to walk through this world with no balls, your manhood owned by another.

Well it's about time. Those evil republicans have been holding the country hostage for long enough. Don't they know that debt = prosperity? Don't they know that the economy cannot GROW if the debt ceiling is not raised? Don't they know that EBT promotes economic growth? Ask Pelosi! Don't they know that the solution to all of our economic problems is more debt? Deficits don't matter! Debt doesn't matter! Debt is FREEDOM! Ask Paul Krugman!
Let's not forget that this leak came from NRO (I haven't seen it confirmed independently anywhere else). NRO is just an arm of the Senate Repubs. This could just be McConnell and McCain trying to roll the House Rs

this was just a disagreement between Republicans. Obama is a corporatist, CIC of the world, and military decider. GITMO, drones, NSA Patriot Act. The package. Obamacare has two GOP points out of three. One is that it returns responsibility to the state medicaid programs, while mandating individuals buy insurance.
Short answer you can't afford insurance so you buy a high deductible policy, you get sick, and the bills drive you into bankruptcy, and you walk over to the state office and apply for help. That's two points in the pro-business GOP solution. Rather than strapping the insurance companies with these losers (sick people who can't pay their bills) they are handed off to the state welfare system after they declare bankruptcy. Insurance company keeps the profits, STATE government backs their losses.
The only ones opposed were a handful of TP Republicans who went old school about spending. They figure a free market will set insurance rates better than a rigged market. (they're still pro-business) Obama loves rigged markets, that's a bipartisan issue. Since Obama repealed the employee requirement for his program (for a year - to give employers them time to opt out most likely - his program is not even vaguely beneficial to SMALL BUSINESS, which is how Wall Street would have it, and does have it) Obama is hardly a Democrat (support for blue collar workers, etc, and such things as SNAP are truly beneficial to the retailers, who can pass on their price hikes to consumers, like HC when you rig a market only those people who are not in on the deal have to pay more).
Obama is a Marxist on monetary policy, he can complain about Bernanke but when he replaces him with Yellen, who does he think he's fooling? Marxist monetary policy benefits the 1%, and provided trickle down to the corporations. Bernanke was a legacy from Bush, which makes Obama a Republican once more, but since Bush was really much closer to an FDR style Democrat (he fought with his own party over immigration, they stopped his bill, which had Democratic approval, and none of did anything (but beat their gums) about Iraq, and the off balance sheet shenanigans. There is no Democrat party because there are no workers, and minorities sold out for token effect, much as GOP voters sell out to their candidates on a whole range of socially conservative issues, (abortion, gay marriage). (Only to get screwed by the business dealing, jobs to China stuff) Complicated but not completely beyond comprehension.
