The Gravity Of Our Situation

Tyler Durden's picture

We have heard all day long what a dismal wreck the Republican Party is about to become, or has, courtesy of the "Wheel of Misfortune" among others. In light of this "fold" we though the following "infographic", courtesy of Jim Quinn's Burning Platform, would help with a "fair and balanced" perspective of just how irresponsible Washington has become, and that at the end of the day, there is no difference between "our" team and "their" team.

I like that the formatting does this because it just showcases how unintended consequences/incentives from central planning always drastically affect how individual actors behave in a community; something that just about everyone who believes in government fails to take into account.

Indeed "bank guy". This fake Iranian threat is all down to AIPAC and it's control of the US congress via bribery and threats. Israel is able to dictate to the American people what wars we must fight. Iraq, Libya, Syria and others have been mastermined in Israel and then the US congress goes along with what AIPAC pressures them in to doing. Syria is a prime example. But Iran is the big lie, the biggest lie. America does Israel's bidding, a certain group will deny it, even though they know it is true. That is their self interest winning out. They have never been above the "Big Lie" to manipulate the stupid Americans into supporting the war aims of Israel. Who has the nukes? Israel  Who has the chemical weapons? Israel  WHo has the biological weapons? Israel   Who cries the loudest about being threatened? Israel   Who makes sure all Israeli war plans come true? The USA.

America funds Israel and we act in their interests. Actually, no Israeli should dare be critical of an American, as we provide them with money, arms and diplomatic cover. It's my tax money.

Anyways, Element. Hope to see you around, always like your posts, even if they are critical of me. I can take it. Unlike some others.

Yup, and the French.gov are staggering one-eyed warmongering hypocrites in all this, they gave Israel the plutonium re-processing plant tech, and secretly built Dimona, and supported weapons and political support to radical Islamists fighting Assad, but then wanted to bomb Syria when those same rebels used Chem weapons on Damascus, and blamed Assad.

Meanwhile, Israel still threatens Syria with the nuclear weapons tech that France gave to it. But does France accept any responsibility for Assad, and the entire ME region, responding via developing chemical weapons and ballistic missiles?

Or does France want to do anything of any kind about Israel now plainly having nukes?

Nope! Fucking hypocrit assholes.

In 1960, before the reactor was operating, France, now under the leadership of de Gaulle, reconsidered the deal and decided to suspend the project. After several months of negotiation, an agreement was reached in November that allowed the reactor to proceed if Israel promised not the make weapons and announced the project to the world, work on the plutonium plant halted. [which they recommenced and completed]

On 2 December 1960, before Israel could make the announcement, the U.S. State Department issued a determination that Israel had a secret nuclear installation. By 16 December this became public knowledge with its appearance in the New York Times. On 21 December Ben Gurion announced that Israel was building a 24 MW reactor "for peaceful purposes".

Over the next year the relationship between the U.S. and Israel was strained over the issue. The U.S. accepted Israel's claims at face value in public, but exerted pressure privately. Although Israel did allow a cursory inspection by physicists Eugene Wigner and I.I. Rabi, PM Ben Gurion consistently refused to allow international inspections. The final resolution was a commitment from Israel to use the facility for peaceful purposes, and an agreement to admit a U.S. inspection team once a year. These inspections, begun in 1962 and continued until 1969, were only shown the above-ground part of the buildings, which continued down many levels underground. The above ground areas had simulated control rooms, and access to the underground areas was kept bricked up while the inspectors where present. The most favorable interpretation that can be given to adherence to the pledge is that it has apparently been interpreted by Israel to mean that nuclear weapon development is not excluded if the are used strictly for defensive, and not aggressive purposes.

Nuclear Weapons Frequently Asked Questions -  Carey Sublette - 7.3.1 Israel

So in 1969 the US was satisfied enough to stop its 'inspections'. What a bloody farce, they were just providing a political fig-leaf to sheild it from ridicule, and to deflect movement towards real inspections, as Israel built nukes anyway (the USS Liberty attack was on 8 June 1967).

The only thing the Frenchies cared about was to not get directly blamed for the Israeli arsenal being built.

No wonder so many today speak openly about the End of Days, Revelation, The Second Coming, an Anti-Christ and so forth....
Methinks the system is stretched.

Yeats, how apropos to our times

The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity....

Men of vision shouting from rooftops to be spurned and ignored. The Silent marching toward cliffs with out abatement, their eyes fixed and unaware. Voices of reason will be lost. History will not be kind.

Miffed;-)

Does your sense of history only span 10 years?  Does Wilson, FDR, LBJ strike any historical memory?  Bush might not even make the top 10 worst in terms of damage to the country-certainly Lincoln was worse than Bush who started a phony war against a foreign people while Lincoln started a phony war against his own people.  My vote for the worst would be Wilson-because without his acquiesence in the creation of the FED and the income tax the modern welfare, debt-based money state would not be possible.  FDR and LBJ put the nearly finishing touches on the loss of freedom, while Obama completed the cycle with the complete take over of health care by government.  I'd probably give LBJ the dubious second position with Obama in 3d place.

Nice Shell Game :)

However, this proves once again Murray Rothbard's argument and final conclusions after considering this over time.  The farce will continue until it just stops.  Democracy and the facade of the State is totally corrupt and cannot, by it's own accord or the will of the sheeple, change.  It is the epitome of evil and will grow like a cancer until it collapses under its own hubris and self programmed destruction. A mathematical certainty but of course no one can predict the moment.

The STATE is the enemy.

Man, the bad karma we have accumulated for that DU and the 2 wars (Afghanistan and Iraq) are enough to give one the cold sweats.  Add on drone strikes, extra-judicial murders, torture, drug running, abuse of the reserve currency, and on and on, and everyone knows there will be hell to pay, literally.

I think that may explain in part why so many people feel, even if inarticulately, that something really bad is going to happen.  TPTB cannot keep their thumbs on the scales of justice forever.  The accumulated weight of evidence eventually overpowers them.  Justice (or karma) is a principle of the universe.

We need a more accurate description of the conflict,

I suggest the Slavemasters vs. the Drapetomaniacs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drapetomania

Drapetomania was a supposed mental illness described by American physician Samuel A. Cartwright in 1851 that caused black slaves to flee captivity. Today, drapetomania is considered an example of pseudoscience, and part of the edifice of scientific racism.

Be careful what you wish for - "they" do seem to have the numerical advantage.

Also, the following scenario is likely (and knowing the duplicity of Politicians Worldwide, maybe part of "The Grand Plan" -

1. Restrict / curtail access to welfare ("technical glitch" which conveniently becomes a "prolonged outage")

2. Once the "9 square meals" deadline is breached, expect those "without" to take an unhealthy interest in those "with", i.e. the "Prepper" community.

3. Prepper community defend their property / stores - probably with some degree of lethal force (deliberate or accidental).

4. Consequences of such actions all over popular media / Youtube / Facebook / Twitter. "The People" demand "a solution".

5. Politicians of all "sides" (but in reality all under the same "management") decry the "hoarders" and rush through legislation / Martial Law to "combat" this "problem".

6. Preppers find themselves battling the very well-armed US Militias (Police), Nat. Guard, Military, who have been tasked to ensure "fairness" of asset distribution "in the present times of crisis".

7. The political threat presented by those who are independently - minded is thus eliminated - with the full backing of the majority of the US Population (and all branches of the Government) - "It was only fair don't you know!"

8. "Mission Accomplished" - independence crushed, everyone has been very clearly told that there is only the one playbook, and "dissent" in any form will not be tolerated.

They will do exactly what Margaret Thatcher did during the Miners' Strike. Ship in Police / "Enforcers" from other Constabulary areas (with no family connections to the striking miners), so a much reduced risk of the "Enforcement Brigade" exhibiting counterproductive sympathies, especially for an operation that was generally regarded as "not quite legal" under the framework at that time.

Worked very well for Aunty Margaret; it'll work just as well for the real US "Leaders" (who probably are not those in frontline or mainstream politics . . .)

I think the prepper community is larger than most people think.  It’s a bit like the AR community.  Who would have thought AR. 15’s would be on sale at Wal-Mart or that enough guns and ammunition would be sold to outfit a World War II army every two days.

I think enough people are convinced of the illegitimacy of the government that should a serious effort be made at gun confiscation that the tipping point would be reached.  All it would take is for three or four percent of gun owners to resist with deadly force and the control freaks would rapidly run out of minions.  You might remember that the unorganized militia shot the hell out of the British army on its march back to Boston. That morning when they left Boston they were masters of it.  When they returned that evening they were prisoners in it.

Modern warfare is the warfare of the superior command and control system. How many of the Prepper community would be reliant on cellular communications for C&C purposes? That'll be the first element of "civilisation" to be shut down.

"They" have some very effective air capability (manned and unmanned - down to Policing level). Air superiority has very big tactical and strategic (intelligence) advantages, as the USAF is fully aware!

Finally, and perhaps most decisively, "they" have access to a very large range of anti-personnel weapon systems, many of which are designed for urban warfare / counterinsurgence operations. They also have the very best / latest in night vision capability, and they certainly have the manpower to fight a prplonged engagement, especially if "supported by the majority of the population" - which the Politicians will have ensured will be the case.
