Senator Cruz Refuses To Comment If He Will Obstruct Debt Deal
With Boehner having given up resistance, in the process throwing his speaker position in jeopardy, and a bipartisan deal virtually assured, the only remaining wildcard is whether any Republican Senator will filibuster, or in any other procedural way, delay a 11th hour deal. Naturally, the most likely candidate here is Ted Cruz of record filibuster fame. And indeed, when asked earlier, if he will "obstruct" any deal in a process that may delay the final debt-ceiling resolution until the weekend, Cruz had no comment. Bloomberg quotes Cruz as saying "I am heading to this meeting," as he entered meeting of Senate Republicans. That said, even a full frontal assault by Cruz would at best delay the deal should it have the support of the two chambers. So while the popcorn is almost over, the drama may still have a few hours left in it.

If Cruz steps aside he will become the MSMs new Palin and if Cruz stands his ground he will also become the MSMs new Palin. In the latter case he will have the respect of tens of millions, in the former he will need to return to Canada and obscurity.
Of course this may all be a moot point as procedural trickery will likely preempt any possibility that the Senate bill can be scuttled.
There is only one person who can circumvent congress now, that's the president/dictator.
PS we already know from his preious actions that when it gets too hot in the kitchen the junior Senator from kentucky , Mr. Paul will throw in with the majority.
BTW this is why the House would be asked to vote first. If the bill passes the House and is forwarded to the Senate, it becomes a privileged motion and cannot be filibustered by individual Senators.

But just like wildfires here in Calif... if you keep puttting out every little brush fire that pops up, eventually there is so much dry fuel that has accumlated over the decades that when the perfect firestorm does happen, the effects can't be contained by anyone or anything. We are setting ourselves up for just this scenario. Plan accordingly.
The Republicans are a bunch of PUSSIES! They should stand firm and NOT raise the debt limit. That puts any default squarely on Obozo's shoulders. It would be his choosing as to what bills get paid and what doesn't......The US takes in more than 10x the money each month needed to service the debt.

It was a lovely scene with him obviously reading a teleprompter. He even had a bunch of photographers BEHIND him taking photos, of the back of his head presumably. A nice tight shot that didn't give the game away that this was a completely staged and scripted (teleprompter) event. Another co-opted, controlled oposition scumbag! Nobody that gets elected is what they represent themselves to be. It doesn't matter who you vote for, it matters who counts the votes, or how the votes are counted (machines). I'm disgusted with the lack of intelligence of the majority of the population that precludes them from seeing right through this charade over and over and over again.
