In a few moments, the president will take his victory lap tour on the road for the next three months, at which point the next season of the government shutdown/debt ceiling soap opera returns. I was hoping the US government would shut for good. Imagine not having to listen to this crap any more, not being spied on, not having to cope with the DHS attacking the people, not being involved in more war and not being pushed further into debt.
There was aother benefit to the shutdown. A whole lot less traffic on the roads.
I caught that too, apparently cutting the deficit in half also magically cuts our spending in half.

The one and only thing the Republicans should have held out for is a one year delay in the individual mandate. Obamacare would then implode on itself during that year. Instead, the Republicans gave away a clean CR, clean debt limit increase, and gave away the biggest prize of all - any House control over future debt limit increases! No wonder this is a victory lap - because it is a huge victory!
