Party Like It's 1999 - Google Breaks $1000

Tyler Durden's picture

Presented with little comment aside to note that Google (3rd largest market cap in the S&P 500) is now up 13% on the day... (at $1007.40)

Big money in spying on people.

A company who was funded by the CIA, who rolls over for the NSA, who have lobbyist teabagging politicians, whose very existence was made possible by DARPA during the cold war and was financially kickstarted and continues to be sheparded by Too Big to Jail Banks and sells your information to Big Business.

Oh yea,  if that ain't Fascism on parade I don't know what is.

When Fascism rules the day.....then BUY, BUY, BUY Fascist based companies.

Hell.....I'm driving up the stock price just by opening a free Google+ account so they can make a buck off me and my info.  Plus I'm feeling like I need to be a better citizen so I will share my entire life through Google+ and link my account up with Facebook and Twitter so those stock prices can go up AND as a bonus make it easier for the NSA to track me as well

So I guess.....I'm actually making money on the internet like all those spam messages I get and I'm having fun detailing my useless life to everyone including Big Business and Big Brother.

Win !!!!

Situation in a nut shell:

Baidu switched to accepting BitCoins as a standard payment.  Someone is attempting to make sure a hostile takeover doesn't happen to it's crown jewel.  Won't work though.  Once China dumps the TBills you could trade a bag of lint for the entire IT industry in the US based on paper value.  Hyperinflation is a bitch, especially when it comes to company take overs and stock prices.

If google wants to stay in the game now...it MUST, not MIGHT accept BitCoins or it's going to become one of MANY IT companies on the pile of dead shells.  And it's had to do it about eight months ago.

Only action Google could do to counter Baidu is to force a change of currency to PM's and real valuation or it will lose everything in about a year and a half.

However judging by the Radioactivity coming out of Japan now and down the Californian coast.  There just won't be anyone at Google anyways to worry about it.

Baidu announcement on BitCoins. (aka Google is fucked)

Amazon's been quietly announcing some contract wins in government-related bids for dp services - prolly not a coincidence. Everything's getting rolled up together - pretty soon you won't be able to see where gubmint stops and "private industry" begins - it'll all be one and the same, way more so than now.

I wonder how many shares Sergei and Larry are selling today? One million shares at $1000 is a cool quick billion.

The problem with Price line blowing through $1000 is that it set a new bar, so expect many more stocks to blow right through.

I'm thinking Chipotle next, then Solar City. The bigger the bullshit, the greater the stock price.

Calling bs on the NSA scandal.   NSA (like the British monarchy) saw real profits and wanted their share of the pie.
Google has enough money to buy the NSA.

Germany got it right in the past.  They found Google guilty of "spying" with it's mapping project and slapped them on the wrist to correct the problem.  Which is much more level headed than ruining livlihoods with punishment.

The only way the NSA and China has real influence on Google is to buy up enough shares of Google to be influential.   The Unions own the company they're :protecting" their members from.

Otherwise, they were only kidding.   You put your money where your mouth is.

Absolutely Brilliant idea!

The Company has been getting hammered by the rest of the World for the revelations coming out of NSA and CIA's use of this "flagship company" for spying which was funded and rigged by the U.S. Government from it's inception.

This should help the Company's PR agenda?!!!  If all else fails "just add water" and watch the stock price hit the stratosphere.

I think the boyz and girlz and Fort Meade and Langley must be feeling lucky!

I only wanted Goog to do a stock SPLIT.  They probably have more value than the US government.
Trouble is that their true PE ratio prolly jumped from 60 (NOT 30, but 60- do the math from their financial reports yourself)... the real PE ratio is prolly 80-90  by now.

Funny how Google is "helping the NSA".  They could buy the NSA.   I'm not talking about buying a few politicians.
I think they can afford this country, they have enough power to do so.  THe problem with that is we're way overpriced.
I wouldn't buy the US either.

If you think Enron had no liquidity, look at the US Treasury.  Sure they can say "fully guarenteed"?  Since most of the IRS revenue comes from INCOME TAXES, how do you guarentee public sector payments without a private sector?

We have no leverage in the private sector.  Except for Google's REAL stock price.  Google's bubble still has more liquidity than the U.S. Treasury.

Google is one of my favorite companies.  Except for the lame animations on their home page, this is one of the few innovations from the tech sector that actually brought value to my life.  I learned how to do my own plumbing thans to Google.  I figured out how to get rid of a health issue thanks to Google and scientists.  I got some good answers about the socio-fiscal state of the world today thanks to Google.

The trouble is that Google (even with it's handle on information technology) is STILL A BUBBLE.
