More Than 44,000 Demand GOP Arrests For "Seditious Conspiracy" Against USA

Tyler Durden's picture

More than 44,000 people have signed a petition on the MoveOn.org sebsite calling for the Departmnet of Justice to arrest some House Republican leaders for their roles in the givernment shutdown and debt-ceiling debacle. As The Hill reports, the petition singles out Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House majority leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), as well as "other decision-making House Republican leaders," for the crime of "seditious conspiracy against the United States of America." While careful to point out that it does not "necessarily endorse the contents of petitions" we thought it ironic that more people successfully completed the petition to arrest the GOP for trying to abolish Obamacare than have successfully signed up for the new law.

Via The Hill,

The House GOP leadership's use of the Hastert Rule and H. Res 368 to shut down the government and threaten the U.S. economy with default is an attempt to extort the United States government into altering or abolishing the Affordable Care Act, and thus, is self-evidently a seditious conspiracy. Arrest the perpetrators in Congress immediately and bring them to justice,” the petition reads.

...Merely reaching the goal doesn’t guarantee the liberal advocacy group will circulate the petition to its email list, which includes the White House, Congress, governors and state legislators. According to its website, MoveOn asks its members directly which petitions should be circulated.

MoveOn says it does not “necessarily endorse the contents of petitions” posted on its site.

And some more explanatory thoughts on this farce from Andfrew McCarthy of The National Review,

...

The petitioners claim the GOP’s recent strategy, leading to a government shut down and “threaten[ing] the U.S. economy with default,” constitutes “an attempt to extort the United States government into altering or abolishing the Affordable Care Act.” That, they proclaim, “is self-evidently a seditious conspiracy”

...

I suppose I should break it to these newfangled patriots that seditious conspiracy is, in essence, about the use or planned use of force against the nation. In fact, Congress first codified the crime during the Civil War to address terrorist acts committed by confederate sympathizers. The Supreme Court explained in the 19th century that the law prohibits forcible aggression, and appellate courts have referred to it as the crime of “waging a war of urban terrorism” against our country.

The statute (Section 2384 of the federal penal code), which is very straightforward and easily accessible online, targets those who conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or levy war against them, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States[.]…

Although the statute’s title is “seditious conspiracy,” you’ll notice that the word “sedition” does not appear in the text that defines the offense. That owes to the unsavory legacy of the Alien and Sedition Acts – a fact the Left is quick to remind us about when the statute is used against its obviously intended targets, terrorists.

I agree with you but at the same time it is kind of fascinating to see an economy continue to function simply through the act of printing and borrowing counterfeit money.

The real collapse is not in the economy but in the brain dead thinking of people who can't see this situation for what it is.

For how long can we function through this illusion, delusion and confusion?

Nah, You will treat them like you treat the police, with courteous deference, and they will be polite at first as well, only there to help. But when true enforcement starts to happen their help will become more forcefull and anyone who would resist is mentally imbalanced or a threat is some other way. Its always a slippery slope that starts out with reason and ends in a complete loss of freedoms....or life. Its too late now. They are doing in our face and daring us to resist. Even elected leaders that resist are trashed and now threats of charges of terrorism and traitor. For any resistance that would have actually worked times have passed. Now resistance will be met with force if not outright violence. NSA, IRS, Immigration scandals are all about reinforcing our perceptions of complete control. While they deny these charges they also argue that if they did occur, it would not be outside reasonableness. The same goes with our bank accounts, they would never just take our money, but they could afterall, if it was truly needed (for our own protection of course). Its not over but it is too late to save it. we are but swirling around the drain, and gaining speed.

Jeff Cooper used to say "Owning a gun, don't make you a shooter, anymore than owning a guitar makes you a musician"

Most guys with gun's, are just owners and don't have clue how to play their gun like a fiddle.

1.) The USA is a nation of cowards watching TV.

2.) The USA will watch the death of others on TV

3.) The USA is disarming vets as we talk, and cop's that open their mouth.

4.) The USA has setup DHS with almost 3billion rounds, and 3,000 humvees ready and mobile.

The 44k represent those who control you.

Look at this way, the USA is fucked, the US Dollar is just toilet-paper, the DEBT can't be covered by tax-payments, but most don't get this, best bet would be to reset the debt, but that will not be done, a CULLING is coming, ... the POOR and MIDDLE class must die for the good of the rich.

The gubmint doesn't need to do anything other than protect the judges and cops, ... just sit back and let the RIGHT & LEFT kill each other.

Don't confuse guns with guitars. Jeff Cooper was a great man, but lets not forget he owned a firearms training facility, and to a certain extent was talking his book. You need to practice with a guitar for hundreds and hundreds of hours to become even minimally competent. You can become reasonably competent with a gun within a few dozen hours of focused training time.

The wonderful thing about guns is that they are EQUALIZERS. They don't rely on strength or talent to be effective-- only some training, and the WILL to use them.

It's why tyrants hate them, and cowardly weaklings fear them.

We may get to a point where mass political arrests like this can actually happen.  Checks and balances breakdown when the MSM is so one sided. They actually blamed republicans in 41/41 major broadcast stories during the shut down, despite the fact that all Obama had to do was authorize the Treasury to continue paying interest on the debt.  That little tidbit was universally ignored and unreported in MSM stories. It's been proven time and time again that if you tell any lie big enough, and repeat it often enough, it becomes the truth in the eyes of the ill informed masses.

This is, for Heaven’s sake, MoveOn.org, a website created to keep Clinton from being impeached. And, later, fueled with George Soros’ and Linda Pritzker’s anti-middle-class money in an effort to make lefties rule the world until Soros’ partners at tyranny.com take over.  (That’s Linda Pritzker of the Hyatt hotel family, cousin to Obama’s Pritzker appointment, Penny.)

The real story is, why only 44,000 on an Internet dedicated to helping people who don’t do anything get someone else’s money?  Anything short of a million with this crowd is an embarrassment.

Well I hope the tea-party fights back, and drop's out of the rePUG party and goes SOLO and kicks some ass.

But here is the problem, 60% of the USA gets a check and is a member of the FSA 'free shit army', so they're not going to rock the boat.

The other 40% ( 38%) wants to get a check every month.

So who is the TEA-PARTY? DO they even exist?

***

Maybe 2% exists, that is 2% that opposes this moveon.org position, that this 2% is a threat to the FSA ( free shit army ), and the FSA see's this "TEA" 2%'rs as the problem,... so why not, why not muzzle those asking to 'close down government', .e.g. stop sending out money.

FACT 60% of the US public get's gubmint money, cops, judge, pols, ... and welfare ho's and MIL,... The other 38% are jealous as hell, and then you have 2% who are producers and understand this is non-sustainable, but the 98% don't give a fuck, because the USA is a 'cargo cult'.

Of course the Tea Party exists and they collect social security, medicare and other government benefits in the same percentage as the general population. Half of them also dont pay federal taxes, but then its ok when they don't pay because thats what they believe in.

The difference between a Tea Party member and a Democrat? the dem gets free shit, loves it and admits he loves it, the tea party member gets free shit and pretends to hate it and denounces anyone who takes free shit. In other words, tea partiers are in the closet.

The Tea Party people typically work to pay for said "free shit" or are retired and contributed their entire life for the said "free shit". The democrats either don't work to contribute to the free shit or they are led to believe that the free shit will be paid for by someone other than themselves. For them it about other people's money and for Tea Party people it about "our" money, and for that reason you are correct, democrats do admit they love it. They love steak as long as they believe it came for the steak store and not from a living animal. They exist on delusion and that helps explain how our society and economy have ended up in the same place, and its not a river in Egypt.

I don't think there is any doubt that something along these lines is becoming more and more likely. The transformation the president spoke about will not be complete until Obama sets America aflame and I suspect there will be no prisoners taken on either side as martial law is instituted. Obama is a radical who is of the Saul Alynsky school of thought and doing this to America where in his mind the ends justifies the means would be no big deal to him. Seriously, under martial law if it happens do you not think this bastard would not take out his opposition. You have to be asleep if you can't see that coming.

Thats why not one fat cat has gone to jail over the financial crisis.

I thought the meme around here was that the bankers run the country. How is Obama supposed to put his bosses behind bars?

Its why the tax rate has gone up to the crushing levels they were under Bill Clinton.

Do you somehow equate a radical with a tax cutter? News flash: Radicals think the money you earn belongs to them, not to you. That's one of the things that makes them radical!

Its why the defense industry continues to grow every single year.

According to the numbers I'm seeing, defense spending is going down pretty sharply under Obama. Yes, it's still quite large as a percentage of global defense dollars, still, the defense budget has been cut under this president. The dollars not being spent on defense are going to build up his civilian security Brown Shirt force - another mark of a radical.

Its why his "healthcare reform" allows private insurance companies to reap a windfall.

His "healthcare reform" is a Trojan Horse, meant only to break the insurance industry so that the dumbed-down, no-accountability population will demand a single payer, government-run insurance system. Again, more radical bullshit! What do you think? You think Obama is fucking mainstream or something?

I have difficulty buying the idea that a radical socialist works for the banksters. Seeing you concede he does, its unlikely he is a a radical. As far as the tax rate, let me say there was  a certain amount of sarcasm there, as a radical socialist isnt going to be satisfied with the minimal tax rates of the Clinton era. A radical would certainly want rates to be higher, at least as high as they were under Eisenhower.

Obama is no more radical than either of the bushes or clinton. Reagan was more radical than Obama. Obama is a corporate lackey, just like the rest of them.

The reason George Soros will be using Republicans to help him obtain amnesty in his upcoming “Fly-In” publicity stunt is because the combination of liberal media and establishment Republicans is the best thing Democrats have going for them.

It was the establishment Republicans led by Mitch McConnell who marched in lockstep with Harry Reid to fund Obamacare and they will be there with plate in hand to give citizenship to as many illegals as Obama can find.

This surrender (cooperative action) of establishment Republicans was the target of a powerful Pat Buchanan piece today. Says Buchanan:

A decades-long failure to address mass immigration has brought to our shores scores of millions now being moved wholesale to ballot boxes to vote the Party of Reagan out of power forever.

With GOP collusion, the welfare state has grown so immense — with half the nation paying no income taxes and half now reaping benefits — Republicans who stand for fiscal sanity face increasingly insuperable numbers in many states.

As for the recent Punch and Judy shutdown show presented by establishment Republicans, Buchanan calls it “The ‘We Can’t Win’ Wimps Caucus.” Writes Buchanan:

“We told you you would lose!” wail the Beltway bundlers of the Republican establishment.

“We told you you would lose!” moan neoconservative columnists from their privileged perches on the op-ed pages of the Beltway press. ...

What a basket of wimps... can someone explain what else a moral and principled Republican party could have done in the continuing resolution, other than try to defund Obamacare?

Have we lost sight of what a monstrosity this is?

It is an immense new entitlement program being hoisted upon a nation whose back is now breaking from Great Society entitlements.

Obamacare forces Catholics to provide sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs that trample upon traditional teachings about how they are to live their lives.

Recent days have exposed employers cutting back workers to 29 hours, insurance premiums surging, doctors rebelling. Obamacare moves America inexorably toward a national health care system such as they have in socialist Great Britain….

How could any principled Republican conservative vote to impose this moral, fiscal, social and technological disaster upon our country? …

Whatever one may say of the House Republican majority at least they fought.

Fuck, I'm GLAD the morons managed to get their precious debt-ceiling increase--it keeps the death spiral into the abyss going full speed ahead. Come on, $20 trillion! Come on, $30! Why let these dipshits suffer through a disastrous collapse today when their suffering will be so much worse five or ten years from now? PRINT MOAR! PRINT MOAR! Do it, America--you know you want to...

The big question is - are these petitioners Democrats upset that Boehner and Cantor shutdown the government, or are the petitioners Tea Party voters upset that Boehner and Cantor folded yet again - and brought up another vote that a large majority of Republicans voted against?

This world is wack!

half the world sees that everything is the insane and the Tea Party is to blame for...who knows what they are talking about. The other half hates the first half.

Then there is another group so small that it doesn't even show up on the charts. That group sees the world is so fucked up that it is about to end...as in...soon we will not even recognize the planet...

We will be in a world with no dollar...that will be so confusing for the first 2 halves that they won't even see that there is a tiny sliver of mankind that is doing fine because they were ready.

At that point the slim slice can just disappear into the scenery like the .01% do now. This tiny group of ...lets call them 'the paranoid prepared'...can hide out long enough for the rest of mankind to either right itself in  a new way of living...or die off.

Anyway if any of you are in the tiny sliver, I'll call out ca koo ca koo...if you made it just answer back ber bleep ber bleep...and we will recognize each other and know that we are in the presence of another wacky but ready part of the population. I'll buy you a beer.

Until then keep your head down and remember to pretend to care about whatever is on the news.

Exponential decay - mentally, physically, and spiritually. These bozos and the rest of the FSA deserve the world they have created. This is just the beginning, their indignation, frustration and anger will rise as their lives continue to collapse and blame us for not providing them "opportunity" which is their parasitic "feel good" speak for someone to take care of them without productive work on their part.

The bottom line is that we are dealing with the tyranny of the majority.
Those who produce and create are their sustenance as well as their ideological enemy. You can not reason with animals. The only way they survive is by forcing us to be slaves.

We all see what is happening as well as the eventual outcome.

I understand why so many are choosing to renounce US citizenship. However, I think this disease is going worldwide and will create intense conflicts as resources become constrained.

The only sane course of action is to put our physics, chemistry, engineering and mathematical hats on and figure out how to get out of the reach of the mob as soon as possible.

Seems clear the the destruction of what used to be a republic 200 years ago has been caused by the general population.  Most people want to blame the politicians, but they've simply exploited the stupidity, laziness, selfishness, etc. of the masses.  The politicians are sociopaths.  The people are...I don't know...morons?  The two-party system is destructive, but that's the system the people insist on perpetuating.

Yes, morons is an accurate description of the zombie proles who believe our government would not kill its own people as happened in September 2001 when we had a stealth coup.

When I was doing my own self-motivated campaigning for former 2-term governor Gary Johnson exactly a year ago, sitting at UNM with a Gary For President yardsign, I'd get bored and try out saying different things to the people walking by.

This ain't no Woody Allen Manhattan so the least favorite was me saying "Jesus was a Libertarian."

The one that got the most big smiles, and maybe voters, was "Smart people vote Libertarian."

Gary got 5% of the presidential vote in the university area, and 3% statewide.

It is clear the Tea Partard representatives acted to bring about prohibited consequences of failure of duty by our Government which would result in violent destabilization of US and World Markets,  leaving the value of assets underpinning our Financial System as shit, and thereby bringing about the destruction of the American Economy,

Oh fuck, that's right. We already did that.

OK. Since there is nothing left to lose except bitter austerity and endless years of servitude to debt let's hang some Bankers and bomb Texas and see if we feel any better after that.

"Elections"? LOL! What you seem to be forgetting is that the national debt--and the interest we pay on that debt, and the "money" we must create to service that debt, and the subsequent devaluation of the dollar due to that desperate counterfeiting--are all beginning to grow exponentially. You can blame Republicans, Democrats, or the Man in the Moon for creating this situation, but it doesn't matter--it's out of our hands. It's all physics now. This edifice WILL collapse...

The few thousand are running out of subjects to roll and exploit, that's why the economy is collapsing: it's certainly not because there are no rich people running around the globe looking for a place to stash their loot! Like the fleeing Nazis they're leaving all the collaborators behind to fend for themselves.

Well I hope that like the bayonets of the Soviet soldiers that were not too far behind the murderers, the collaborating useful idiot class which is the 'upper white middle class' gets what it deserves for creating this 'slave globalist empire' fueled by debt made out of nothing: the slaves produce for free men who eventually become indentured slaves themselves.

Now the problem for the ruling class is what to do with all those useless slaves: indebted slaves can't pay back nor can borrow more and the slaves manning the factories have no customers.

The DOJ itself is guilty of treason & conspiracy as is the President of the USA.

These moveon.org fucks obviously aren't paying attention to this NSA business, drone killings of Americans without trial & gun-running for the drug cartels directly given guns by the DOJ & Eric Holder MUCH LESS the refusal to jail anyone at HSBC for SANCTION BUSTING & money-laundering for those same cartels.

What a fucking joke.
