Guest Post: The Rise Of The Sheeple

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Jeff Thomas via Doug Casey's International Man blog,

Currently, a clever young man, Mark Dice is producing a series of videos in which he approaches strangers in public places in the US and asks them to sign a prepared petition that he is holding. Invariably, Mark behaves in a polite, congenial manner and makes a clear effort to appear as harmless as possible. However, the subjects of his petitions are the antithesis of his demeanour.

The subject of a Dice petition may be the repeal of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, a move to assure that old people are exterminated under Obamacare, or, as in the attached video, to ask potential petition signers to support Karl Marx as the next president of the US.

In each video, Mark's approach is the same. He chooses a large, open public space, dresses casually and hands his clipboard to someone who is passing and politely asks for his signature in support of a concept that is ludicrous. He does this with a straight face and always behaves pleasantly. Once the passer-by has taken the clipboard and is looking for the place to sign, Mark describes details (again, in a pleasant manner) of what is being proposed, such as,

"We're just gathering signatures to show support for Obama and his communist agenda, so we're gonna get Karl Marx on the 2016 ballot and continue the Marxist takeover."

Invariably, the prospective signers seem not to take in the significance of what Mark is saying. They seem to be focused more on where they are supposed to sign. No matter how many horrific details Mark offers the signers to provoke them to think about what they are signing, nothing seems to sink in.

Of course, we recognise that the video may contain only those people who were actually empty-headed enough to sign, and, surely, there were others who refused. However, this does not alter the fact that so many people simply "go along," seemingly oblivious to what they are signing.

Surely, for any reader of this publication, these videos will be both entertaining and exasperating, as they demonstrate the stupidity and complacency of so many people.

However, if we look a little deeper, what we see in the videos is even more revealing—to the point that we might consider that the "sheeple" we are observing are not simply buffoons; they pose a threat to our personal future.

Looking back into history, we see a parallel in Germany. In the late 1940s, many Germans were interviewed as to how it had been possible for Hitler to effect his extreme policies. They were asked how they could have sat by whilst the atrocities occurred. The Germans interviewed stated vaguely that they were not aware of the atrocities. When they were pointedly asked about seeing the Jews being dragged off and thrown on trains, or asked about the smell from the smokestacks at the concentration camps, the interviewees would shrug their shoulders and say that they had not realised the significance of what was happening.

At that time, Americans were rightfully outraged that the German people could have been so callous, so unobservant, or so dim-witted as to have been unaware of what was happening around them. Surely, at some point, the German people should have said, "That's enough. This is wrong and must stop."

And the Americans were correct, although it is also true that, having won the war, it was easy for them to criticise, as they had not been the people who had been under the thumb of an over-reaching fascist government.

Today, of course, the shoe is on the other foot. The US is tragically, but assuredly, the home of a fascist over-reaching government. On a very regular basis, Americans are subjected to new measures of control that they should feel are beyond the pale and are to be rejected. However, just as in Nazi Germany in the 1930s, the threat from the government towards those who do not comply is developing in lockstep with the increasing controls.

If we were to imagine a Mark Dice in Germany in late 1930s Berlin, stopping people in a friendly way to ask for their signatures on a petition that, say, called for the extermination of Jews, they might well have signed, finding it easier to "go along" than to question the validity of the idea being proposed.

The reason? Well, at some point in the destruction of a democracy, a mild fear sets in the minds of a people that all will not turn out well. At that point, many begin to shut down. Their ability to react to outrageous developments fades into a state of numbness. It no longer matters how irrational the proposal may be, it is simply accepted on the face of it, as it is easier to "go along" than to question. It is also less distressing.

If we watch the video that is attached, we may shake our heads that the petition signers do not react to the idea that a dead man (Karl Marx) is running for president. Neither do they react to the suggestion that they show support for Obama's "communist agenda." Neither do they react to the suggestion of a full communist takeover.

This does not necessarily mean that the petition signers are incredibly stupid. What it means is that they have chosen to tune out. It is best not to think. The petitioner is pleasant, and it does not pay to contest the issues in question. It is easier to simply sign.

At some point in the future, interviewers may ask Americans, "How could you just sit by whilst the atrocities occurred?" Americans may shrug their shoulders and say that they were not really aware of what was happening. If and when this comes to pass, will they be lying? Possibly not. It may be that those who had simply "tuned out" were no longer cognizant of the meaning of events around them and were functioning as automatons—servants of the American Reich.

It is sadly true that the signing of a Mark Dice petition is a mere symptom of a greater concern—the conversion of the American people from a once-proud culture of self-determination, to a lesser species of cooperative sheeple.

For the observer, it suggests that the US has passed the point of no return; that this may end as it has historically—in a period of warfare abroad and subjugation at home.

The warning signs are becoming more numerous with each passing day.

The choice for Americans today is whether to wait and see whether history repeats or whether to plan to be elsewhere before the deterioration advances further.

And exactly where are we supposed to escape to?

What's the point?

Aren't most people around the world starting to hate what America stands for?

If Nazi Germany is any indication, as the US Empire starts endless wars of aggression, will the world have to take up arms to stop us. Will they eventually have to invade us like the allies invaded Germany and destroyed the Nazis in WW2?

If so, then there is no place to escape to except Greenland or Antarctica.

Re;  Is Australia or New Zealand a plausible back water escape?

Most on here would hate New Zealand.   Too much socialism and they've got "those people" there too.   But, sometimes, when you leave you find you really just don't care about the new place.

Overall,  NZ would be good, but the south Island is best ("those people" aren't really welcome on the South Island - so if you happen to be Asian you can't really go - the New Zealanders have a much wider definition of "those people" than we do, so be careful).

Good on you! I've been considering the So. Island of NZ. And would consider it when the collapse comes. A bit of land with a batch if priced lower than today in real money. Lately though I've been concerned about some government actions and then there is the current PM who is a former Vampire Squid exec. and NZ is part of the British Crown. Remember what happened to Kim Dotcom?? at the behest of the US gov.?

Speaking out and running against the current is definately not a national pastime. NZ does have a very large middle class which makes for less envy and resentment. The country has a climate to suit every one except polar bears.

I have major reservations about Austrailia as they are firmly in the US militaristic camp.

Just had the great good fortune of having a very well respected scientist from NZ come here for a week to visit before flying off to another conference.  We had a lot of fun, and traded culture insofar as we could - and damn can kiwi's put down the beer.  Yes, it's not quite as good in some ways as here - he really enjoyed going out on my personal firing range and shooting full-auto weapons (legal, I got the papers) and blowing up dynamite, things that are a bit hard to get away with there - but otherwise, hey, no big difference between a good ol' boy there and here, other than our equally odd accents compared to y'all.

But the word is, apply early and have a job there lined up - or a ton of dough.  Else, they're not really looking for immigrants at all.  You can have a gun, but not at home, and so on, but in general, there's no need either, since crime is about zero where my pal lives anyway - and he's got a nice spread, near where he works at their sole nuclear research facility, with hills, gardens, a bay, a yacht...and he got that without having to have "hamptons kind of money" as things tend cheap there.  Not a bad choice at all, in my eyes, and I've been looking.  It's just that I already live in what might as well be the garden of eden, and no, I don't want to advertise where it is - we have enough people in this lifeboat already.  Cog Dis and Dagny know...and a few others here.

Australia has a lot more going for it than N.Z. (no offense to Kiwis, but Australia literally has a whole lot more resources) but I think both ocuntries would be more attractive than the US. The majority of Australians also rejected marxism in this year's federal election. I'm noticing a significant effort to realign public money with projects that will have long-term benefits. If Asia continues to demand Australia's raw resources then the future for this country is very bright. We have less than 30 million people in this country. There is room for many, many more freedom loving and industrious folk. But make sure you have plenty of savings (at least $1million for resettlement costs) and/or a decent job lined up. The cost of living here is relatively high.

Hope to see you over here!

Wow, that was a very profound and true statement.

Sure, we have a bigger arsenol than the rest of the world combined but, we are also the most at risk for almost anything that could turn us on each other.

Massive sell off of govt. debt.... our banks are teetering on the edge... our power system could be taken down by one nuke... etc. etc.

We do absolutely have serious issues though..... When the one political movement that is ONLY advocating fiscal restraint is painted as "anarchists", "terrorists" and those with bombs strapped to their chests by BOTH political partys.... we have problems internally just as bad as the ones I just described as external threats.

I wouldn't say most evil but, killing is killing.  I do see your point.   When we look at what we're moving to, I'd say that's much more evil than where we stand today.

How many millions last centry did the communists kill of their own?  There are only really estimates because, we can't know exactly.... 80-100 million between Russia and China?... and don't forget the killing fields.

I will say this though... We're not done yet so, history isn't done with us yet.  We surely have the potential to hold that dubious title.

One thing is for sure... we haven't had a war since WWII... that was a real war for survival... not some political war where we decide we can only bomb this or that because, there is not fear of war on the homeland.... it's all for political outcome... bomb this way across the bridge and not that way.... don't bomb across the border... even though we know the enemy is there... etc. etc.

We've forgotten what that is like and, there is almost no one living that remembers that kind of war in the U.S.

I don't think history will be kind to the U.S.... at this point though, I'm not sure if it will be written in doublespeak or not.

"We invented semiconductors . . ."

We? You mean Americans? Then why do you suppose germanium was named after Germany? (Germanium was discovered by Clemens A. Winkler in 1886, in Germany, in a mineral sample from a silver mine.)

And semiconductors were invented by Brattain and Schokley, here, at least the ones made of Germanium.  Finding the element is one thing - it's quite another to make use of it in that way.  Lead and iron and gunpowder were around a  long time before guns were, for example.

Here in Seattle I'll bet I could get enough signatures to get on the ballot an Iniatitive to mandate that 'for the good of the enviorment, recycling and the children' that it be mandated that residents consume 'canis stercore' (dog shit).

The current iniatitive 522 will mandate the all foods be labelled as having any GMO content. That no other state in the Union requires this and I seriously doubt General Mills, Nestle, et al are going to have special packaging for WA state the clear result of this will be massive food price increases across the board.

Put aside the fact that there are now GMO trace elements in virtually the entire food chain and this will be a boon for the trail lawyers to go after our state food providers (the real reason this was floated), but the tie dye sheep crowd it's a chance to 'stick it to Monsanto' by way of screwing yourself.

Make Mine: You probably know that some similar initiative was recently put on the ballot (and defeated) in California. As best I tell, it was because "food prices would thus soar" and "inexpensive, nutritious foods would no longer be available in California."

Give me a break. Like redesigning a label to include "GMO" somewhere on it is a big deal? Like the costs to print that (or not print it, maybe, as the case may be) would be significant?

If it cost even a hundredth of a penny per package, I'd be astounded. Knock me over with a feather astonished and flabbergasted.

Hey buddy.  This is a "Conservative" and Libertarian site.

So all the crony-socialism the "Conservatives" live off is good and is not socialism,  it's an investment in our children's future.

And new socialism is bad, especially if it makes people lazy (unlike Big-MIC and Big-AG which makes people patriotic and love free-enterprise even more).   The Libertarians don't like socialism either but some - against their will - are FORCED to take it.   But, believe me, they are NOT happy taking it and feel really bad.

Either you are really bad at sarcasm (possible), or plain stupid.

Corporate welfare and shameful labor practices have ruined this country's prospects. Social welfare has merely attempted to keep those too poor to fend for themselves from rioting.

People anywhere are only going to faithfully get up and go to work 6 days a week, for 10 hours if thy can earn a decent living. Whether you want to blame corporate scum or beltway hacks is largely irrelevant to me, but blaming poor americans for not wanting to work for peanuts in your trickle down economy is just ludicrous. And unless you want to go organize the 50-60 million destitute Americans, I think you better keep that spigot open a little longer until we figure out how to feed the next generation and provide decent care to the nation's aging boomers. Cause the worst kind of uneducated person is one who is angry and hungry.

And before you go calling this a ''Conservative'' site, ask yourself what type of Conservatism do you support? The Cheney, Thurmond, Nixon, Palin, Hitler kind? Or the Hoover, Friedman, Rothschild, Squid Bank, Bush Sr. Carlyle group kind?

I give you a pass if you followed Mr. Milt Friedman back to Ed Mises and the Austrian school.

There are so many now calling for some kind of conflict with "the state" that makes it clear that is exactly what those proviking want people to do. In a direct conflict with "the state" the sheeple always lose. The sheeple have numbers, but they are disorganized, underfunded, poorly armed, at a lower level of technology, have poor intelligence gathering capabilities, do not have propagandist media on their side, etc.

The ONLY rational course of action that I can see that will have any effect, is to withhold consent as best people can ... and wait it out as those trying to provoke a direct conflict contiunually ratchet up the pressure. Good cannot come from violence (evil) even when oppressed through violence.

SHEEPLE ... and proud of it. It is something to not be afraid to fight and die, but still to choose not to because violence is wrong.

That's exactly what the Masters want, the people fighting with the government, with neither the people nor the government ever attacking the real problem, the scum of the earth Bankers that are running the entire show. Why do you think any real Republican or Democratic supporter is always frustrated with the candidate from their party that they get to vote for? It's because the Banking cartel, with ownership of all of the media of course, help "select" the nominee for each party.

So, government policies fail, the fail under Bush, they fail under Obumma, party doesn't matter. Follow the money, who profits from the failed govt policies ? Bankers and career politicians, the working men and women as well as their families certainly do not prosper regardless of the party in charge.

You want a simple solution? Start treating bankers and career politicians like the plague to mankind they are by stringing them from traffic lights with their little cut off dicks crammed in their mouths. You will start to see real change in America, and across the globe as well when those really responsible for the evil in the world are held accountable.. Name me one country where the bankers have helped the citizens and their country grow strong and prosperous?

Come to think of it, instead of "Earth Day" we need to have a "Human Day" across the world where in every country we celebrate the prosperity of the human race by having some good old fashioned hangings. See any local banker and politician as food the hangman's noose.

Direct conflict isn't required.

Look around you and think about it.  "THE STATE" isn't some faceless, ephemeral behemoth.  It isn't some vaporous apparition that can't be touched.  It's people - It's human beings.  They're all around you.  Some of them you don't know, but some of them you do.  They're your neighbors, your acquaintances, some might even be your friends.

They're the Bankers - financing the efforts and creating the Monopoly money they use to steal our productivity.  They're the NSA agent listening to your phone calls or reading your e-mails deciding what to turn over to the ones who are FBI agents desperately looking for another bust to make the news.  They're the cop looking for anything they can find to drop a ticket (or worse) in your lap to pad their stats.  They are the TSA agents groping you at the airport - laughing as they fondle your balls while your ten-year-old daughter watches.  They are the IRS agents looking over your financials and tax returns and deciding whether or not you've paid the piper in sufficient amounts.  They're the Building or Health Inspector shaking you down for a bribe so he doesn't have to pay you another visit for which you'll pay even more to the state.  They're celebrities and members of the press who fail to do their jobs and in some cases go so far as to be a propaganda arm of the state.  They're the politicians who refuse to actually do anything about the real problems that you and everyone else knows exists in this country.  And they're also the low-level paper-pushers that grease the wheels every single day they report for work...

THEY ARE THE STATE.  THEY ARE THE REASON IT EXISTS.

All we need to do is make it painful for them - and I don't mean through physical force.

Own a business?  Refuse to take their money for anything.  Exercise your right NOT to serve their needs.  Pull your money out of the banks and tell anyone who works for one that they can get fucked.  Refuse to perform services or fulfil contracts for government entities of any kind.  Stop managing their money.  Stop selling them anything - especially food, fuel, ammo, or weapons.  Stop letting cops eat free in restaurants.  Stop giving them free coffee and doughnuts.  Tell your local inspectors to find somewhere else to spend their bribes.  Tell the celebrities and reporters you no longer want their money or their presence in your establishment.  Bounce the TSA agents out of your cab, out of your restaurants, and out of your hotels.  Send the FBI, the NSA, and any other three-digit agency members packing.  And if necessary, tell your friends and family that they're persona non grata until such time as they stop being an arm of the beast that's feeding on our dying bodies.

And yes, even the low-level paper-pushers...  "No soup for you!"

Shun them.  Force them to the edges of the herd.  And make sure they understand why.  If they can't spend what they're taking, they'll quit.  And if they quit holding the center together, the entire paper tiger burns and crashes to the ground.

Without a single act of violence.

The sheeple* often lose, the government is often brought down.

In the case of the US, there is an unbelievably large pool of experience in bringing down governments that is sent out to do its work in units that often measure in the dozens. "Phoning a friend" in the iPhone/gadget era and having the resources of the mighty MIC at your disposal might make the job "easier", particularly for the young ones who came of age after 9/11 but it's hardly the only way, and in fact it is the exceptional method when looking at the totally of instances where the major players and their proxies have brought down governments over the last half century. But the State's adversaries from Robespierre to Lenin to Tyler Durden were correct - it does involve breaking some eggs, which is why it is not a decision made or undertaken lightly, despite the often heated rhetoric that surrounds even lesser debates.

"War is mankind's most tragic and stupid folly; to seek or advise its deliberate provocation is a black crime against all men. Though you follow the trade of the warrior, you do so in the spirit of Washington -- not of Genghis Khan. For Americans, only threat to our way of life justifies resort to conflict." - Eisenhower

re: "The Ministry of Truth was working hard in the government schools. They trained the sheeple to emote at certain words or images, and to avoid all thinking."

Case in point from the OP above:

What if that's all been part of a(nother) false narrative that an earlier set of sheeple fell for, and has been passed down as gospel written in stone for the current set. Hitler was that era's Emmanuel Goldstein*. Now whenever the State needs a new Goldstein, there are the inevitable comparisons with Hitler(Saddam, Gadafi, Assad, etc., etc.).

Think people, there are many discrepancies in the whole Holocaust narrative. Of course anyone bringing those discrepancies up is immedately crucified, and pronounced a "denier." Me, I just no longer give a fuck when slaughtering sacred cows. Maybe the Germans didn't notice because a lot of what we're told today simply never happened. The Holocaust has been very profitable for a certain set, as Norman Finklestein has pointed out. **

From what I've personally been able to determine from reading alternative sources, most of the deaths in that whole debacle were caused by disease and starvation...amongst Jew and non-Jew alike.

* The fact that Orwell(Eric Arthur Blair) gave his bad guy character a Jewish name is something else to ponder on when you think about it...

**It was not until the Arab-Israeli War of 1967, when Israel’s evident strength brought it into line with US foreign policy, that memory of the Holocaust began to acquire the exceptional prominence it enjoys today. Leaders of America’s Jewish community were delighted that Israel was now deemed a major strategic asset and, Finkelstein contends, exploited the Holocaust to enhance this new-found status. Their subsequent interpretations of the tragedy are often at variance with actual historical events and are employed to deflect any criticism of Israel and its supporters. - from a review of Finklestein's book

Imagine that...

I would argue that Hitler eventually lost because the German people did what they could to withhold consent. Sure Hitler over-reached in his attempt to break the zionist banking cartell control over Europe (and was himself funded by the same cartell) ... but in the end the reason he gave up was, as he stated," the German people do not deserve what he had offered them" ... which is true, but not in the same way he meant it.

The cops would not write the guy a ticket and threatened to write my sister a ticket. Honked her horn, he backs into her rear quarter panel, totals her car. Says he did see her or hear her honking her horn because he had his A/C on and it was a deisel truck (not in the police report). Bullshit professional courtesy. After a day of work Baltimore County cops pulled me out of my car, threw me against a fence and illegally searched my vehicle.  They harassed me for 45 minutes while I sat on the ground and decided that without a criminal record I might not be worth the hassle.

About a dozen people watching, which was embarassing in a way, but they all said afterwards that they went way over the top.  I was scared as all hell that they'd try to plant something, and if I had had any priors they probably would have.

Funny how I spent the majority of my life trusting cops.  Now....? How can I?.  Really, how the fuck can I?  Even those who might good ones are suspect, it only takes one to draw his side arm too fast and shoot me.  Hell, they openly shoot people at weddings now.

And you can't fight back.  There's three of them, one of me, two bigger than me and made heavier by gear.  Can't run.  Can't call for help.  The full weight of "the law" is on the side of them and the corrupt judges with whom they're in cahoots.

Witnesses and video is the key.  You get officer psycho, and he really, really hates having his authority questioned.  You know what he hates even more?  Having his authority questioned when he cannot do a damned thing about it. The thing that you have to worry about with video is that they'll erase it upon arrest.  One of the PDs near me tried to do that to one fellow a couple of years ago, but he managed to recover the video and is now shoving it up their asses in court for a second time.  While you need to pick your battles wisely, cops need to be told NO a whole lot more, and it needs to happen in a way that they'll know that they'll get their pee-pees slapped if they don't comply.

I dealt with the thin blue line about a decade ago over whether pepper spray being pointed in my face with no actual justification counted as assault.  The fucker had already sprayed other people, but I was the only one that threatened to go after his job, then sue his ass.  The cop's lieutenant claimed that it wasn't because you can buy pepper spray at Wal-Mart.  Well, first, I've never seen jumbo-sized quarts and half gallons of the shit at Wal-Mart, and second, they sell fucking Remington 870s there too.   Problem is, the only people who can police the police is us, and that shit is long and drawn out to do legally, and the effectiveness varies greatly from state to state.  If you've got a pro-cop judge, you're pretty much fucked, and it helps even less that all too many people don't know their rights and aren't willing to stand up for them.

The police may act like it is there, and may try to jam you up (lies included), but it is legal to film a police officer in a public area, even in Maryland.  Shit, here, the PD that I was dealing with with the pepper spray got so bad a few years later that they now have to wear lapel cameras, and if they don't have the things on for normal stops (i.e. dui, and the likes,) you can get the charges thrown out.  They got bad enough that a couple of judges here come as close to openly hating the PD that a judge can, but that's what happens when you have a DA that is an idiot, buddy buddy with the department, and refuses to press charges against police for clear cut cases of homicide.  I'm lucky to live in a place where the corruption surrounding judges involves bribes to get on the bench and extorting prostitutes, but still allows for most people to get a fair shake, even if they have to appeal above the metro/magistrate/muni level.

The problem with the above is that it comes from the same place as the supposed ignorance displayed in the youtube video.

It's all confirmation bias presented as objective truth, or in the words of your cynosure Rand, objectivism, but of course is nothing but a miniscule sample edited to present what the interviewer wanted to present as truth.

How many of the normal people told him to fuck off? We'll never know because the interviewer will never tell you.

Why turn on your own people America? Aufheben! Embrace your kin in order to lift all. The power is in the masses and such self-loathing as the above drives you into mere atoms that your common enemy can destroy with even more ease.

You make a fair point - the power of editing and all.  But the fact that so many (OR ANY) are so quick to sign a petition to nominate Karl FUCKING Marx as the next Democratic presidential candidate - I really have a pretty hard time defending that level of ignorance on the part of anybody who hasn't literally been denied all access to education because they've been working 16x7 in a sweatshop since they were 3.

I mean, what that HAS to mean is that NONE OF THOSE PEOPLE KNOW WHO KARL MARX WAS!  Karl Marx!?  How the fuck do you get through even the most remedial education without at least recognizing the name and realizing HE'S FUCKING DEAD?

So when will Mark Dice be doing a petition for the U.S. leading the rest of the World on the clean up effort at Fukushima?

You know those slant-eyed devils that "ol' round eyes" never said That's enough! after we fire bombed them into submission and then gave them two nuclear bombs for good measure.   This of course followed after an unconditional surrender with a generous dollop of arm twisting for permanent military bases and commercial nuclear reactors (made in the U.S.A.) of course, all the while telling them it's the same thing that killed you the first two times -but trust us you're safe -cause we said so and you have, well no other choice!

I'm all for pitching fun at some of the stupidest members of the brain deads the human race has to offer, but why not make it constructive on a disaster that looks as if it will be 100000000 x Buchenwald Auschwitz,Bergen-Belsen and Treblinka combined?

Maybe if we're really sincere we can get Mark to follow up with the AE/911 Truth Petition so that it can finally clear a million signatures seeing that they will sign away their lives to just about anything if they are asked to do so?

On these two it will be the smartest investment towards humanity they will ever make, even if they don't know or don't care!

Under central bank rule and globalisation, everywhere will come under the jackboot. Some places worse off than others, but none escape the diktat of Big Brother, the Trilateral Commission and its BIS.

Stampeding the herd into other directions merely makes them easier to manipulate. Americans should stay put, and rely on the natural resources of the country and their ancestors.

Everywhere else will be much worse off, and being an American abroad in such circumstances is a short route to a quick death, financial or physical.

I was an ex-pat for decades (personal and business reasons),  and I'm relieved to be back home in the USA.

When people think they have no binding tie to their kith and kin, then the globalists make debt slaves of all.

See China choking on killer smog as the latest example; the Middle East wrecked by internecine warfare; Europe, a socialist dystopia as per usual, and Britain - home of the original robber barons,  a bankrupt country with a smug ugly monarchy.

(Liberated from www.survivalblog.com. Author = John Wesley, Rawles)

The recent political crisis over the delayed raising of the U.S. debt ceiling was just a precursor of a much larger crisis that will occur when interest rates inevitably rise. Once they do rise, it will become impossible for the Federal government to service its debt without massive monetization and concomitant mass inflation. There may also be some draconian stopgap measures such as levies on bank accounts (a.k.a. "bail ins"), nationalization of private pension funds, nationalization or forced common stock purchases for IRA and 401(k) plans, currency controls, bank holidays, bank withdrawal limits, currency recalls, limited access to safe deposit boxes, IRA and 401(k) withdrawals limits, and perhaps even another ban on privately held gold bullion.

For the past seven years I have urged my readers to diversify their investments out of U.S. Dollars and into tangibles. I am now repeating that with an even greater sense of urgency. It is high time to deliberately draw down you bank accounts and stop rolling over your CDs. I now urge my readers to gradually withdraw as much cash as you can, leaving only as much in your checking accounts as you need to pay your monthly expenses and to make your tax payments.

Beware of CTRs

If you have more than $10,000 in your account and you attempt withdraw it all at once, then by law your bank teller will fill out a Currency Transaction Report (CTR). These reports are available to the IRS and other government agencies. To avoid this, you need to gradually withdraw your cash, in unequal amounts, over a period of weeks or months. If you have a lot of cash to move, then one viable approach is to write checks to open bank accounts in other banking institutions, and then deliberately draw down those new accounts with numerous small cash withdrawals.(Less than $7,000 each.) According to Wikipedia, CTRs include "an optional checkbox at the top if the bank employee believes the transaction to be suspicious or fraudulent, commonly called a SAR, or Suspicious Activity Report." If your bankers suspects that you are "structuring" withdrawals, then they will feel obliged to file a SAR.

What to do with the cash you withdraw:

1.) Get your beans, bullets and Band-Aids squared away. This should be your highest priority. Don't consider "investing" in anything else until you get your key preparations established.

2.) Keep some greenback cash "mattress money" in small bills. If possible, keep enough cash for a couple of months worth of expenses. Again, keep it very well hidden at home, or bury it in waterproof containers.

3.) Only after accomplishing Steps 1 and 2, buy some physical silver. In the U.S., pre-1965 dimes, and quarters are the best choice. Keep your silver very well hidden at home, or bury it in waterproof containers. Make sure that you let a couple of trusted relatives know exactly where it is hidden, in case you might come to harm.

4.) Invest in some common caliber ammunition. Here is your shopping list, in a nutshell: Rifle: .30-06, .308 Win., 5.56 NATO, 5.45x39, 7.62x39, .30-30, and .22 LR. Pistol: .45 ACP, 9mm, .40 S&W., .357. 38 Special. Shotgun: 12 Gauge, 2-3/4" length. (Buy a good mix of buckshot, slug and birdshot shotshells, with an emphasis on buckshot.)

5.) Invest in some good quality battle rifles, handguns, and full capacity magazines.

6.) Buy productive farm or ranch land (with good pasture and hay ground) that is in a viable retreat region.

7.) Invest in your education. That is the ultimate form of portable wealth. A second stream of income may become important in the coming years, so getting an education in a practical trade would be wise.

8.) If you have substantial liquid wealth (more than $500,000), then start shuttling some of it offshore. But because of the coming currency fluctuations, I recommend that the majority of that be stored offshore in physical precious metals. If you don't already have a deeply trusted relationship with a family in your offshore host country (you should!), then you will have to trust a bank deposit box in your offshore host country.

9.) Buy a few books of "Forever" postage stamps. These may become useful for barter, as they will hold their value against inflation better than cash.

10.) Invest in a depression-proof business that is portable. (See the blog article links in my reply to these letters.)

11.) Build your personal reference library.

12.) If you are elderly, then invest in preparedness for your children and grandchildren. In the depths of the Second Great Depression, you won't be able to count on the government to help you. But you can count on your close relatives.

What NOT to do with the cash you withdraw:

1.) Unless you are a multimillionaire, don't buy large quantities of gold or gemstones. Not only is gold too compact a form of wealth for practical barter, but it is also far more likely to be confiscated than silver.

2.) Don't build up your Bitcoin wallet balance above 15 BTC. Because Bitcoins are a synthetic currency and Internet-based, they are subject the whims of larcenous politicians. Bitcoin transactions can be tracked, because nearly every Bitcoin transaction has a corresponding e-mail trail. (And anyone who thinks that their e-mails are all "safely encrypted" is fooling themselves.)

3.) Don't buy urban or suburban real estate.

4.) Don't buy a second home in a "resort" area. As I've mentioned before in SurvivalBlog, resort areas will be targeted by looters in times of social chaos.

5.) Don't invest in fine art, vintage wines, rare postage stamps, classic cars, or collectibles. Those will sell for just pennies on the dollar in the Depression. (If you want any of those, then wait for the opportunity to "buy low.")

6.) Other than some home security webcams, commo gear, a starlight scope, and a Dakota Alert passive IR intrusion detection system, don't waste your money on electronic gadgets.

7.) Don't invest in foreign currencies. There are no more "safe" currencies!

8.) Don't invest in foreign stocks. Tangibles will trump, worldwide.

9.) Don't over-prepare or over-invest in one area, at the expense of others. (For example, buying all guns and no storage food, or vice versa.) Balanced preparedness is the key!

Bottom line: The time for hesitation has passed. If you leave your liquid assets in a bank or in a savings and loan, then you are now a sitting duck.

Here's the problem I have with this shit: I'm 65 years old and I held the same ideas, almost verbatum, back in the early '70's. I was an original Prepper. Really worked out, right? Thank god I got married and had kids and had to re-enter the 'real' world because being successful at all that required a certain level of participation, you know, paying taxes and insurance etc. I read this crap and have tingly flashbacks, kinda the same as when a Morrison song comes on out of the blue; feels great for 2 mins then assumes it's proper place. Doug Casey, et al never talk about the real perpetrators of 9/11. The amazing thing about all this is that over 90% of the American people supported the initial invasion of Afghanistan in retaliation for what they thought were 19 guys with box cutters (all of whom had been identified as Saudi nationals!!).

So it just takes the media's collusion with the Zionist Bush Regime to convince Americans to invade a nation based on the most illogical scenario. Most Americans should have questioned the ridiculous Bush conspiracy theory of 19 hijackers within a week....a month at the latest.

So when a Doug Casey representative writes up a little bitch note on American people, it's rather hypocritical...Because Casey, et al have their heads up their asses too. Even people like Richard Gage who runs AE911truth.org admits he didn't start questioning 9/11 until 2006!

George Bush and Dickless wonder Cheeney are STILL ALIVE and WELL (no trials or convictions for them)....and they massacred their own people. Cheney, who is shaking in fear every day that someone is going to hack his heart...The fucker NEVER deserved that heart....Some young man died so Cheney could live another 20 years (and continue to torment humanity), while another young man that should have got the heart died.

Where is THE FUCKING OUTRAGE! George Bush and Dick Cheney and their Zionist Crew of Crony-ass Fucks SLAUGHTERED 3000 AMERICANS so they could get the Tyrrany rolling and open the nation up for LOOTING.

WHERE'S THE FUCKING OUTRAGE PEOPLE???? YOUR FUCKING PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH killing all those people....WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE??? huh?? IF IT DOESN'T BOTHER YOU ABOUT Afghans or Iraqis....AT LEAST THINK!!!! 3000 people dead on 9/11....Some of them jumping to their deaths.

New Study Finds Human Beings Were Never Meant To Wake Up From Sleep

BOSTON—According to a new study published in The New England Journal Of Medicine this week, human beings were never meant to wake up after falling asleep, but were rather supposed to remain in a deep, peaceful slumber until eventually expiring. “Our research team of evolutionary biologists conducted an extensive and thorough examination of human physiology, past and present, and determined that human beings were, in their ideal state, supposed to be born, spend a solid 12 hours awake as an infant, and then lie down for a tranquil, dream-filled sleep from which they would then not awaken

Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities. - Voltaire

Go ahead and put Mr. Casey in with the Sheeple.  Miss direction or ignorance who knows, but the fact that the people do not understand their form of government and the Patriots place within it is the genisis of the problem.

“It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government.” – Thomas Paine

"The Democratic MEME is a construct of the power elite to promote the idea of free choice when there is none.  Via their control of MSM the talking heads promote the spread of democracy.  And, Americans being subjected to this over and over see it as a good thing.  But, here's the rub.  The U.S is not a Democracy.  It is a Constitutional Republic.  Our founders understood the problems with democracy - mob rule or capture by powerful special interest - so they gave us a Republic of checks and balances where the law is King.

American's are shocked to learn the word Democracy is found neither in the US Constitution or the Declaration Of Independence.  Because The People don't understand their form of government or their Patriotic Duty within it, state sponsored deception is made easy.

WE ARE A REPUBLIC!  AND THE RULE OF LAW GOVERNS ALL IN THE REALM.

"The very fact that supposedly intelligent people don’t understand the difference between a democracy and a republic is a strong indication of the dire condition of our republic. It is in its death knell!" -  John Vettel

Strong indication indeed!  Only If "We the People" understood the difference, we would immediately see how we have neglected Our Patriotic Duty to protect Our Republic from Our Government.

It is not a majority that rules (the mob), nor is it a small group who attempt to put themselves above the law.  The Constitution is a social contract that establishes the rules by which we and "Our Representatives" are bound to abide.   Upon taking office "Our Representatives" swear to preserve and defend the constitution; understanding no man stands above the law.  And where the government has broken the rules and failed to prosecute those who do us harm, under this contract it is the peoples right to hold them to account.  As Patriots our duty demands it..

Once you understand "Our Republic" you will see how we have allowed a few sociopaths to use the people for their own ends and how they are spreading their NEW WORLD ORDER OF WAR & DEBT SLAVERY ECONOMICS.

The pheomenon at play is the banality of evil.

"As sick as our "our representatives" are, societal insanity and self destruction takes place when good people say nothing, or worse serve a system that any thoughtful soul would reject.  To claim, there is nothing I can do is to deny your very humanity...

The bane of humanity is, we learn nothing from the horrors of past atrocities, and history repeats itself.  Our/Your passive acceptance of one transgression always makes way for another.  This and the belief that injustice, visited on our neighbor, will not one day come knocking at our door is the banality of evil and its final reward is death." - RAPE OF THE REPUBLIC
