President Obama To Present Ultimatum On Immigration Reform - Live Webcast

Tyler Durden's picture

Having seen his "unconditional surrender or default" strategy work over the debt ceiling, we wonder what 'ultimatum' President Obama has up his sleeve to get the Immigration Bill passed...

Folks who aren't going to give up ... illegal immigrants as a special interest group to change the law ... now that's activism.

From outside of the law, use the law to change the law. Now you're inside. Presto change-o!

It's similar logic to : from outside of the economy, print money to change the economy, and now your printed money is part of the economy ...

Any discussion of new laws of ANY kind should be prefaced with enforcement of existing law. Adding more on the pile of disfunctional shit is only an attempt to create more doubt, more confusion as to what The Law really is and who will enforce it. More and more it seems enforcement today has more to do with protection of the enforcers FROM the citizens than protection OF the citizens. Illegals should be careful what they wish for. Frying pan to fire.

As the Republicans once again fail to have a single unified immigration strategy, Obama just might get what he wants.  Had the Republicans stuck to their 'one year postponement of the individual mandate' strategy, they would have won the debt ceiling battle (especially with the web site and high pricing issues).  Instead, they were all over the place and flooded the Senate with various bills.  Now, as it seems to be unfolding, the White House is reluctantly starting to consider a one year delay....  The Republicans should be sending that delay up to the Senate EVERY DAY!  It's a winning strategy.  Where are you you Stupid Republican Leaders?

Delay? Nope. This law is so messed up I'm telling you the strategy now should be full repeal. The evidence is pretty clear at this point that his law will fail on it's own. However, if the Democrats want to continue to defend this law it's going to cost them their jobs. It's that bad any way you look at it.

This is a one party government. Just like China. They all work for the bank and they are all committing treason.

Dear President Chalky Goebbels,

Just give everybody an 800 number to call to get the "official" propaganda line  on everything. Don't stop with just immigration, give us your views on infanticide, drone killings of innocent people, and of course all those pics of A. Merkel you are keeping from us.

Free shit for bonafide Americans is one thing. Free shit for non-citizens and drunk driving illegal aliens is a whole different level of madness.

As a nation, we've run out of polish for the brass on the U.S.S. Titanic. Does anyone else get that sinking feeling?

Truth is - you are never going to deport the illegals. Drive around LA and look at al the multi-story new skools... all the kids are Hispanic. The $25MM number bandied about is utter bullshit. I know its a political move, but its gonna happen. South Central L.A. is so much better since the latinos pushed alot of the blacks out to San Berdoo.

This is the same govt that sent Mohammed Atta  an extension a few months after 9/11. So deporatation is never gonna happen.

1. A "rascist" has been re-defined to mean a person who opposes leftist policies.

2. It is good to oppose leftist policies.

Ergo, it is now a good thing to be a rascist.

Just want to point out that on Philip Chism's police report (the black kid who "alegedly" raped and stabbed his teacher to death dumping her body in the woods) he is listed as 'White' in the race box.

He is an "Obama" special. White mother, black father from the pictures of his mother that I have seen. Personally, I do not care. If he did what is alleged, he is a nasty piece of work.

9 out of 10 on Texas' most wanted list are labeled as "White" but have obvious hispanic features and hispanic names (Jose, Angel, etc.).  Most have gang and/or cartel affiliations.

That lone 1 out of 10 looks like he could be one of Obama's long lost uncles and is already listed as captured.

Many millions of new Free Stuff Army recruits, expected to vote democratic.

I used to live in a place several blocks away from where 30 or 40 illegal illegal alien day laybors would hang out all day in front of a Shell station--double on weekends.

Does Obama think any of them can even remotely pay their way?

At this point Obama is just making up his own laws by fiat.

I have yet to read a credible analysis from either side of the debate.  I've listened to and read PhD's in econ try to tell me and the audience that,

"Illegal immigrants in State X contributed 2 billion to the state's tax revenues but they only cost the state 1 billion, therefore they added 1 billion to the state's revenues."

I asked one such douchebag whether his model assumes that the aggregate unemployed legal residents - if they were to be employed in the jobs currently held by illegal immigrants - would A) 'bury their increased incomes under the mattress' or B) spend it in the economy?  Crickets.  A simple question.  Crickets.

Many (most?) analyses ignore or gloss over the nexus of: 1) "jobs nobody wants", 2) the added marginal cost of the welfare state per dollar currently NOT earned by the unemployed welfare recipients, and 3) the fact that the newly-employed would pump even more dollars into the economy than do the illegales.  ('More' if you consider that far fewer of them would ship a % of their income to relatives outside of this country).

I'll need to search but I wonder whether any have claimed that a certain amount of welfare is necessary and good.  There has to be at least one; there's no shortage of them claiming that a certain amount of unemployment is a good thing.  Invariably that amount is not defined.  Funny how they very often use the term "certain" yet are unable to offer either a specific figure or a formula that can be used to plug in specific variables to compute the specific figure.  At a party several years ago I asked an econ prof that and got nothing but gibberish as a reply.  Science?  ROFLMAO.
