Guest Post: Is Obama Through?

Tyler Durden's picture

Originally posted at Monty Pelerin's World blog,

Is Obama through? That is, have his lies and incompetence finally caught up with him and emasculated what remains of his effectiveness. Has he taken the concept of “lame duck” to new levels?

Dan Henninger describes Obama’s credibility problem:

Bluntly, Mr. Obama’s partners are concluding that they cannot do business with him. They don’t trust him.

Henninger’s observation does not bode well for US – International relations. Nor is it likely to provide support for new domestic initiatives.

The International ramifications are especially dangerous. It is difficult to think of one ally that supports the US as strongly as it did when Obama took office. More damaging is the spectacle that the US has become for the rest of the world. Obama, supported strongly upon election by most of the world, is now held in lower esteem Internationally than in the US.

Nations that thought of the US as a model of democracy, economic strength and leadership justifiably are questioning these assumptions. Some now see us as just another country moving toward Banana Republic governance.

Domestically, matters may be worse for Obama. Republicans, who distrusted him from the beginning, are even firmer in this belief as a result of the budget shutdown and other false promises. Democrats see the tactics and competence of the man and his Administration. As he is perceived to shift from asset to liability, their loyalty will shift.

Political ideology is not absolute. Democrats love liberalism and progressivism but not nearly as much as they love their office and place in power. If it comes to a choice, ideology and political loyalty will be abandoned in order to retain office.

Mr. Henninger’s quote limited his observation to “partners,” which can be construed as other political leaders or figures. However, Mr. Obama still has most of his voter support. Obama still has the ability to lie and much of  his support base is too disinterested to care. Many are incapable of  understanding politics beyond the cult of personality and “what’s in it for me.” Many would vote for Ted Cruz if he convinced them he would provide more freebies than Obama.

While Obama’s cult status is gone, his popularity among the masses remains. He has lost his ability to work with “partners” but not with the masses. What remains may still be enough for Obama to continue to weaken the US economically and politically.

His popularity always was dependent on his unusual and unconscionable ability to lie and convince people that there was a “free-lunch” if they supported him. His messianic overtones were merely Hollywood enhancements to his mendacity.

How much remains of Obama’s ability to remain effective depends on what the “uninformed” followers believe. Some of these will never question him. Others may be influenced by the shallowness that passes for today’s media. The media have been Obama’s most loyal ally. Whether that continues in the light of the ObamaCare fiasco is moot.

It is going to be hard to support ObamaCare for the media when Obama supporters experience the sticker-shock at enrollment (if the enrollment system ever gets fixed). Many believe they are going to get free health care. Most believe they are going to get large savings and better plans. All are in for rude surprises.

The failure of ObamaCare likely means the end of media protection for Obama. Survival for them is just as strong a motivation as survival for politicians.

No worries...everything is under control....

The teleprompter reader in chief was chosen by his handlers to do precisely what he has done and allow the elite (who really run the country) to become richer, more powerful & more corrupt at the expense of the vast majority of americans.

Obama's failure to force the big banks into bankruptcy in 2008 or even extract any concessions from their CEOs and instead allowing them to continue to pay themselves obscene bonuses while Joe Sixpacks were foreclosed, when he first took office set the tone for his failed presidency...and his "blackness' provided excellent cover for his inexperience, incompetence & lack of judgement.  Anyone too critical of the first black president & his policies could be painted as a redneck wanting to send the country back to the mid 1800s by the mainstream media, fully captured by Wall Stree & the Military.

I think the plan all along was to have a weak presidency to set the stage for the "solution" - a strong "military" leader with increasing control of US citizenry of every aspect of their lives...NSA, NDAA, EBTs, etc., The elite most certainly see the major debt, economic and financial issues (i.e., $US reserve status) facing the country & know the road ahead will be much different & dangerous for the US....and rather than level with the American people, they've successfully tranquilized them with mind numbing mainstream media and a rising stock market....

When the $UShit hits the fan, the crises and ensuing chaos will provide the perfect opportunity to justify seizing even greater control over a citizenry that will wonder what hit them....and be all too willing in their fear & panic to let someone "strong" & in "authority" take control....

Never let a crises go to waste...& the next major crisis ($US reserve) will go beyond anything most Americans have ever imagined

Hilary Clinton ain't a strong Military leader. She is an absolute wackjob dictator though.

I could definitely see Stalin or Hitler style concentration camps for libertarians in the near future. If you ever donated to a Tea Party group, you've got a one way ticket to a DHS detention center in Utah.

If you look at the signs, that is what's coming. For Progressives to truly take control you need a night of long knives. Free thinking individuals will be hunted and wiped out. The billion rounds of ammo are for that purpose. The DHS prison camps are for us.

The zombie video games and post apocolyptic TV shows are conditioning to get people used to the imagery so it isn't a shock when it actually happens.

Over the next decade America dies. Those who designed the 2008 collapse already have their land bought somewhere else. The cash grab is just like the 1920s, to steal enough to make it through the coming dark ages.

Killing the USA was planned well before JFK was gunned down.  Pulling all the studs out of the house and sending them off to China was a major part of the plan.  It was Nixon's job (in reality Kissinger's) to do that and turn the currency to fiat on a domestic and international level.  Once done, he was disposible for a more effective war president.

All the signs are there. It's a very toxic environment and the progressive fascist types are committed to their ideology at all costs.

For those who say it can't happen here  there are way too many useful idiots for that not to be the case. How many people do you know that have real depth to their character and personality?

With government schools, government media, government jobs and goverment handouts there are far too many who will run with whatever narrative Hollywood, academia and the powers that be tell them.

the "solution" - a strong "military" leader with increasing control of US citizenry of every aspect of their lives...

@pain_and_soros, I respectfully disagree with that statement and this is why.  When TPTB finally achieve their goal of destroying the economy and buying everything not nailed down for pennies on the dollar, the gap between the rich and the destitute will be a chasm.  The poor will beg from the rich for their very survival; the TPTB won't have to fire one shot because the people will do their bidding to make the hunger pangs go away and make their children stop crying.

Author seems either cluelessly naiive or a shill.

The elephant sock puppets are complicit in not vetting the Kenyan Usurper and most recently handed his administration another blank check, "suspending" the debt ceiling rather than just increasing it again.

The Demonrats ('rats, for short, a/k/a "jackass sock puppets") are only interested in raw power, like all reddo commies.  After chanting, "Bush lied, people died," now all you hear between bombs blasting is crickets chirping, except the NSA now hears everything, of course.

International "partners," if they have a brain, surely know the K.U. is just a muppet following orders from the bankster cartel, same as they are.  Not only did they cheer the K.U.'s appointment, but even gave him a Nobel prize, before he even started droning & obombing.

The masses?  You mean the 12 million on SSI disability and the 49 million who get "free" food every month, "free" medical care, "free" (you name it), paid for by the producers who remain.  (Apologise for using the "F" word 3 times.)

Of course, the K.U.'S "uniformed followers" include the Dept of Fatherland Tyranny, TSA, NSA, etc. with their 2 billion rounds of ammo, 2700 armored vehicles, etc. and soldiers who checked the "follow orders to disarm & shoot 'murkins" box.  You know, poor people eager to rob, kidnap and murder other poor people for a price, like good minions have done for centuries.

Media protection?  You mean like the cheerleading parrots in the corporate media cartel controlled by the same bankster cartel, whose mindless drones reading mindless gubbermint-sanctioned drivel from their teleprompters.  "Sum ting wong."

The United State_ may be able to survive the K.U., but it will not survive the dain bread sheeple who applauded his appointment.

All you need is 1/3rd of the 151 million people on some form of welfare to vote for a candidate who promises MOAR, to win the election.

For a candidate that promises cuts, they need half of the 100 million who have a job to vote for him to win.

Considering 50 million of those people make less than $25k a year, and want MOAR .GOV freebies as well, a candidate promising smaller government needs every single person left to vote for them to win a national election.

It's never going to happen, which is why the only party that runs is the Progressives, whether they claim they are a Republican or Democrat.

Doubt Obama's through until the next election, but thanks for asking. Through describes the Republican Party. They can't say tax cuts create US jobs with benefits. Politically, they've shot themselves in the foot. There's nothing Roger Ailes, who suffers from dementia, can do about it.

GOP members are Congress are collecting salary, bennies, lobbyist money, and they have Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance. They read whatever the lobbyists put in front of them to read. They are just hot air to the middle class.

However much money the Koch Bros and the hedge funds like Jim DeMint, the Heritage whatever, are just wasting their money and paying a form of income tax. Good riddance to them and their money. I don't know what Cruz was on about the FBI about, maybe wearing Sarah Palin's high heels in the GOP. My question is why the FBI, which is tax payer funded. Why didn't Cruz have enough brain to call on the NRA instead and privatize whatever he needed?

The media have been Obama’s most loyal ally. Whether that continues in the light of the ObamaCare fiasco is moot.

The media is Obama's most loyal ally because both are owned by the same puppetmasters and are following the same NWO agenda.  Six banks own all the major MSM media in the USA.  The media's job is to mindfuck the people into a false reality.  Obama job is to put the agenda in concrete while the sheeple are mindfucked in lala land.  They work hand in glove.  What fiasco?  I don't see no stinkin fiasco.

I could lie, be eloquent  with a teleprompter, transfer taxpayer wealth to Wall and Bankster Streets, delete personal liberties, violate my promises and oaths and work to enslave many and eliminate the inconvenient members of society. Yes, cult status is the path for me.

Obama is a CIA manchurian office holder/puppet. He could care less what is happening or will happen. He just takes and implements his orders. He will still get millions off book and speaking gigs and his place in history, as one president of a failed republic, is secure regardless of how negative or positive it is.

What difference does it make what anyone thinks of Obama? He is president until 2016 and can do what he wants till then. After that, he doesn't care because he can't run again anyway.

It's the second term when they do the things they didn't dare do in their first term for fear of alienating the voters so bad they couldn't win a second term. Now that doesn't matter.

We will know what he has up his sleeve in the next year. The last year  he will just coast.

By the way everyone forgets that Obama did not have that much support in the first place. The voters weren't voting for Obama in 2008 they were voting against Bush. The Dems could have put up a stuffed dummy and won. Hardly anyone knew who Obama was back then. His political background was decidedly thin and he had never done anything memorable in his life.

The Media protection of Obama (and Obama's party) is permanent. The Media made their bed and now are stuck in it. They can't abandon Obama. What are they going to do, back the Republicans? No way. The Republicans hate the Media with a burning passion, and only want revenge. They want the Media dead. If the Republicans ever get back into power again, the Media will find out what governmental power really is - and they know it. There is nothing the Media fears more than this. Really. Nothing.

The Democrats can't abandon Obama either. They are chained at the hip to him, and those chains cannot be cut. The attachment is mutual and reciprocal, though. Obama now has no choice. He has to win back the House for his Party at any cost in 2014. It doesn't matter that no President has ever won back the House in a 6th year midterm in all of US history. He has no choice. He has to. And we all know that Obama is at his most dangerous when he has an election he has to win. Winning elections is the only thing he is good at. This one is just as important to him as his re-election last year, and he knows it. In fact, it may even be more important than his own re-election. This one is for his vindication. His legacy.

Get it through your heads. There is no law, no "constitution" , and no "United States". It was Usurped by the installation of an illegal NON natural born Citizen as POTUS, the puppet of the NWO and domestic enemy of the former "United States" Barack Hussein Obama, born a British subject of a British subject father. The media are merely the NWO propaganda arm;Congress totally blackmailed by their treason in allowing the Usurpation, can only rubber stamp every piece of legislation designed to capitalize on US Citizens' lost sovereignty, but only after a show is made of some sort of defiance to make it seem like there is opposition. The reality is that THERE IS NO LAW-and the law is only what evil men say it is--- because when the executor of the laws is an illegal entity, then there is no law. Thus there is no budget, no constraint on debt, criminal NWO bankers are paid trillions of US Currency, NDAA is enacted, ACA is enacted, Spanish companies "count" the votes in American elections, mortgage fraud of the criminal banks is covered up, the fallacy of "birthright citizenship" creates a surge of parasites birthing more parasites, etc., etc.

When will the 5% or 10% critical mass occur to water the tree of liberty with the blood of these cretins? It better be soon. The start of the way back to the Republic will be yanking the Muslim criminal domestic enemy out of the Oval Office, hanging the traitors in Congress, burning the mass media offices to the ground, seizing the banks and deporting all illegals. May you live in interesting times.

"Is Obama Through?"

That's a leading and deliberately tricky question.

If I say 'no', then the onus is immediately on me to substantiate this with reasoned arguments and evidence.

Which is deeply unfair, because it leaves commentators no option but to say 'yes'.

Thus the author of this article is most probably a raysis.

Of course he's trustworthy, he's as predictable as sewage flowing downhill and you can depend on it.  He's also dumb as a rock when it comes to stuff like math, science, and economics, he believes in all sorts of voodoo.  He is insulting to his opponents even when it is not in his own best interest, just like Bubba Clinton would lie to you about the time of day and the color of the sky, because it was just his policy to lie 1001% of the time.  So, there is no hope of Obama running a competent government domestically or internationally, at best he paralyzes everything he touches.

And yet some of the anger at him is his redeeming virtue, as when Imelt walks away in disgust maybe that's a good thing.  When Washington does nothing either domestically or internationally, at least as often as not that's a good thing.  Obama's sloth has kept us *out* of the Syria mess, finally.  Of course he's probably doing it (nothing) now because it favors his Iranian ayatollah buddies courtesy of Valeria Jarrett, and maybe there was a window of about three days when the US could have intervened in Syria and put in a more democratic regime - at least good for a week.  But that window is long gone.  Now, inaction there is a good thing.  The Saudis are upset with us, with Obama?  LOL.

Some few see the seriousness of "9" Generals being relieved. That's a record in our history by triple. In other countries it's referred to as "Coup Protection". The Tea party will be blamed for economic calamity, a State of Emergency will be called. The dissidents most knowledgeable and dangerous will be collected. Then, comes the masses by the millions in each city already paid for by "OFA." They will spring forward to do the bidding of their leader. Have you ever wondered how a sitting president can boldly create a 501C(4) of his own with his Email. Then raise unknown amounts of money from wealthy donors from "All over the world" liking this accomplishment?? Did general Alexander who must know finally say, I created this NFA and now can't keep it from becomming all powerful and evil? Beria would be proud! Did you know his successor will also control large contingencies of the military as well? He is reputed to be a Cryptologist and Spy Master.

I pray I'm wrong and simply an ecentric Constitutionalist who believed Monroe when he wrote that General Warrants issued for any reason violated the spirit and reason for a citizen's democracy. How can the Only Extra Constitutional Agency in our Central Government have the rights and power with sect. 6331 to, without individual warrant, take my money, my house, all my belonging and put me in jail?
