You think Obummer has gray hair now, just wait till he has to face his fellow Dems in 2014 election cycle.

The fallout from this is going to dwarf the other scandals.

The FSA has no sense of humor, neither does the lower middle class losing their healthcare or seeing their premiums rise 10x their current premiums.

Oh well, give a dance, you gotta pay the band.

"The fallout from this is going to dwarf the other scandals."

Absolutely and that NBC report isn't even a tiny fraction of it.  This is going to screw so many people who never saw it coming so severely that the Dems are going to lose both houses in 2014 and the Presidency in 2016.

2014 and 2016 will be the best opportunity for a serious 3rd party contender because even though the Reps cleverly voted for this fiasco but then fought it vehemently ever since (that contradictory behavior as a political move makes sense now, doesn't it; vote for what you knew or strongly suspected would be a catastrophe, then fight it and be able to say "See, we told you so!" at the next election), they still voted for it and are just as responsible for it as the Dems.

Read all about this fiasco in far more detail than anywhere else at:

As far as I can tell the Libertarians offer no alternatives, they continually advocate mass immigration (with no change in the welfare state) and generally make fun of Christians, the purpose of the Litertarian party at this point is to offer no alternatives to the Demoblicans and be totally irrelevant-and they're a wild success at it too. (being a non-political entity).

Agreed.

I find myself more in inle with the Libertarian Party's platform (excpet the open-borders nonsense) but the reality is they're the equivalent of a write in a vote for "Seymour Butts".  The candidates are usually vanity campaigns from bored attention whores.  It's not a real movement to make a difference.

I'd much rather small government-loving people lin the mold of Ron Paul take over the GOP.

There's no reason the state, which gets everything wrong, should be in charge of where people are allowed to work & live. Employers, home sellers & property rentiers can decide without government intervention who should be allowed to work & live in a community.

Picking on Palin is uncool.  Since when has our glorious country ever elected a rocket surgeon?  Please don't say Woodrow Wilson, because he was caught having an affair and from that we got the Federal Reserve.  To be a politician one has to appeal to the masses and try not to make too many enemies.  Palin helped out Alaskans and made enemies of the oil and gas companies.  She was just a regular mom who picked a real bad enemy...

Had to re-post this on this thread since it's more applicable...

Did you see this?  Just disgusting the level of corruption we have reached...and to not consider any other bids, what a joke!

Revealed: Michelle Obama's Princeton classmate is top executive at firm that that built disastrous Obamacare website after being awarded no-bid $93m contract

  • Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is an executive at the company that built Obamacare website
  • Toni Townes-Whitley is senior vice president at CGI Federal which earned contract to build the site. She joined in May 2010
  • The women are both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni
  • The Department of Health and Human Services reviewed only CGI’s bid for the Obamacare account even though four companies submitted bids
  • CGI became an approved government vendor in 2007

The Obama administration has been accused of cronyism after it was revealed Michelle Obama's Princeton classmate is an executive at the company contracted to build the beleaguered Obamacare website.

Toni Townes-Whitley is senior vice president at CGI Federal, the U.S. arm of a Canadian company which won the no-bid contract for the problem-plagued website.

Townes-Whitley, from the Princeton class of ’85, and Michelle Obama are members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni, according to The Daily Caller.

Earlier this month, Washington Examiner reported the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid handed CGI Obamacare account without putting the contract out to competitive tender.

It has since been revealed four companies submitted bids, but only CGI was considered for the $93 million Healthcare.gov contract.

The GOP is nothing more than a diversion to keep libertarian-minded Americans preoccupied with bullshit like gay marriage, marijuana, and how awful it is that Obama's website won't load.

They never actually propose shrinking the government, eliminating departments, reducing taxes, cutting spending, or putting the country back on a gold standard.  That's just too fringe for them.  No, it's all about laughing at Obama's website.

Nothing like continuing the false left/right debate to keep the sheeple bleating.

Did the Republicans pass tort reform and across state line healthcare competition?  Nope.

Notice that the ACA premiums are set by County because they know where the money is.  Rich county = high premiums, Poor county = lower premiums.

Does anyone belive that the Republicans are going to increase the affordability of healthcare and stop the parasitic middlemen of the Insurance and American Bar Association industries?

It is apparent to anyone who has bothered to look that there is nothing Affordable or more Caring about the ACA; just another legislative shitstorm written by the corporatocracy to bleed us serfs some more.

They'll keep this see-saw of hollow vociferous debate going for YEARS while they slowly break the back and spirit of every family in the land.

"Did the Republicans pass tort reform and across state line healthcare competition?  Nope."

Granted the GOP has been spineles, reatively speaking, but I think there has been plenty of attempts to open the state boarders and to attack tort reform, and each time defended very heartedly by the Dems.  Remember back before ACA was passed the GOP had an alternative plan, that they submitted to the WH (and it was posted on the WH web for some time), that had at its core these 2 items, in addition to funding state reinsurance pools.  I can't remember all the details, but the whimpy GOP did virtually nothing (or could not do anything) to get press time for it.

Wow, you were right.  A simple Google search found  the source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act

The House passed the Senate bill with a 219–212 vote on March 21, 2010, with 34 Democrats and all 178 Republicans voting against it.[117] The following day, Republicans introduced legislation to repeal the bill.[118]

Nice work, Mr Coltrane!

Now have a go with the Civil Rights Act, and see which party was its strongest supporter, and which party was (and is still) riddled with racism.

A lot of people, most democrats included, would be shocked. But this is how the long march through our institutions has worked out. The blacks vote over 90% for the party of segregation, jim crow, eugenics, slavery, and drum roll, racial division forever.

yessir... the voting record on this is there for all to see... step up to the table and eat, Democrats... your shit sandwich is getting cold...

say what you will about the GOP, but on this one they made the right call...

I know insurance companies are evil blood sucking parasites, but think about what PP/ACA forced them to do by law... it was basically the government saying, "screw you and your actuarial tables... this is the new fuzzy bunny pink unicorn plan, you must cover all applicants against a minimum standard regardless of sex or pre-existing condition, because socialism mutha fukkas". The insurance industry took one look at that, realized that cost & risk management was being thrown out the door, and said "fuck it, everyone is treated the same? then everyone is going to *pay through the fucking nose all the same* no matter how healthy they are".

so... here we are... others have said it already but I'll say it again... why am I not surprised

No guts, no glory. Doomsday machine not a vote getter. Better to let Obozocare take its bites out of the voters who will awake only when you grab their wallets. I'm ready for a three party system. Anything.

I'd be ready for an actual two-party system if we had one.

The GOP and each and every one of their leaders is as responsible for Obamacare as Obama, Axlrod and the whole democratic combine itself.

Fuck the GOP.

You will never get my vote ever again.

Yes, the GOP majority in the house had one mandate.  Repeal Obamacare - they failed.

I guess if you're a petty tyrant who is technically in charge of a group of people that are diametrically opposed to your philosophy, which also have a long history of killing people that need killing, you'd want to humiliate them so that you can demonize them when they react? This regime can't end fast enough.

If people can wait in line for 7 hours to vote, then I guess they can wait online to buy health insurance.  Anyone else notice the states that are not actively working to restrict voting are also successfully running their own healthcare exchange websites?
