September Retail Sales Come In Line With Expectations As Unclothed Americans Buy iPads
Moments ago hopes that the S&P would hit 1800 on an epic miss in the September retail sales were dashed after both the headline and ex-auto/gas numbers came largely in line. The total Seasonally Adjusted retail sales for September dipped modestly by 0.1%, on expectations of an unchanged print. Excluding autos the number was exactly in line with expectations at 0.4%, while ex autos and gas was also a very modest miss of 0.4% vs Exp. 0.5%. Still, hardly bad enough to send the S&P500 futures into the stratosphere. The biggest outliers by business category were motor vehicles which tumbled -2.2 in September, the biggest decline since October 2012 (did the US government suddenly stop making NINJA loans?), Miscellaneous stores and Clothing stores, down 1.2% and -0.5% respectively, while electronics and appliance stores rose 0.7% in September. In short: Americans may have no clothing as we enter the winter season, but at least they have the new iPad.
So while noted the number was hardly bad enough to send stocks surging, the ES-leading EURJPY pair seems to have found a third-wind bid in an attempt to expand the S&P500 multiple by at least another 0.1-0.2x today: could it be that algos just noticed that unadjusted retail sales tumbled by 9% from August to September.

No clothes? There's an app for that.
I did buy some underwear from Walmart in September. Just 2 pair, with employee discount. That's all I could afford.
Over.
(Hanes not Fruit)
I bought a plate carrier vest. Does that count?
Did you buy it in September?
What's up with all the people running around in underware and motorcycle helmets in GTA V? The game starts you with clothes, and there are ample opportunities to obtain clothes, so these people are choosing to look like that!
Those that can afford iPads, can also afford clothes...it's the other group, those that can afford neither that are not represented.
no one is represented, the numbers are about obfuscation not information. Hence the I-pad theme, they are as relevant to the economic numbers as the economic numbers are to reality.
its Propaganda, the tool of the state to blind its citizens to further terrorize and manipulate the citizens. Its quite useful for empty their pockets and creatiing draconian laws to further destroy their liberty in the name of faceless enemies that don't exist.
Propaganda is copyright by "the TWO PARTY SYSTEM" which also owns, "Liberty, Freedom and Justice" as well as your balls.
This just in....welfare recipient's now get obama phone...obama pads...
Keep in mind most businesses are running Windows XP and Office which is slated to expire April 8th.
MS will not provide security updates or patches for XP or Office 2003 after this date.
Most US businesses will upgrade to Windows 7 or Windows 8 for their company's workstations. In my biz hundreds of thousands of our users, about 54% are still on XP.
This Spring should be watched for the rollover effects for OS sales and security issues...
No Fooling!
Don't fall for it! It's a game of chicken. They can only drop XP if enough people drop XP. STAND YOUR GROUND EVERYONE!!! NO WAY DO YOU WANT TO CONVERT TO WINDOWS 8!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT FOREVER!!! KEEP YOUR WINDOWS XP. YOU WILL PAY FOR WINDOWS 8, MORE THAN YOU WISH. You have been warned.
The smart money would upgrade to Windows 7 before the copies run out.
We did and it was a breeze. Windows 7 is much like XP.
they are not prying Window 7 out of my cold dead hands.(i use it on my Mac, where it runs far smoother than on a PC ffs!)
the mass of america is represeneted, talk to the common man about economic disparity, foreign affairs, the role of spirituality in life...and you will receive a deaf ear, just as with our politicians. it is a representative democracy....and it's populist message resonates with mainstream american, while its agenda is driven by a global elite.
the 'needs' of the top 2% are very well represented...and the views of the bottom 60% are also well represented.
current system....full steam ahead!
I thought I saw CNBS pitching COH and ANF yesterday bc of the P/S ratio. Earnings and growth obviously don't matter if they're not good.
Same old story. Naked. Apple. Now all that's needed is the snake.
I Beleive Obama got the Snake Role, but NSA Chief Alexander was called back 4 times to read for the part. It was a close call, but Obama could bring a lot of investors with a lot of money and all Alexander had was alot of Star Trek figurines and pictures of himself in Nazi outfits.
Funny. We already got the snake, though. He's in the White House.
well you cant eat 'Surfaces' either
let them wear I-pads - also try the new I-moron app, also try I-freezinmyballsoff.
Steve Jobs golden turd smelt round the world.
Does make a great albeit expensive door stop though.
clothes r cheap now
ipads r expensive
guess which i am buying
DAMN! Now there's perhaps less justification to firehose in money to banks so they can buy S&P, because retail was 'in line' somehow....dammit dammit dammit!!
They don't have any clothes and they don't have any insurance. Next up...no food or fuel. Isn't Murika great?
PLUS ONE DOCTOR .............................. But , We do have flouridated water for AMERIKANS and Dancin with the TARDS.
I don't know how anyone figures 'no clothes'....hell for $50 you can practically buy a car load of clothes at China*Mart...big deal.
The government in a desperate move to buoy retail sales like they did with autos, is announcing the cash for old clothes program before the holiday season.
Must....Hit....1,800....I no idea why tho....
Well, it looks like more people are just giving up on even paying attention to this clown show.
At least Americans don't sell there kids to buy Ipads

Dammit, Janet! Cook those books moar! You're making me look bad!
S&P 1950-2000 looking more likely by years end. Guest Post: Every Indicator Is Overbought And No One Gives a Shit
I don't understand why they don't just open up the S&P at 2,500 this morning, who would care? No one gives a shit....let's just have a 'whatever' market and ramp it up 10% daily what's the difference?
Any indication that they might increase QE and you might get your wish. It's starting to feel like '99 - the parabolic phase is coming
Reality:
Clothes last years. The new Ipad comes out every 6 months.
Not mine bro, but I get my gear from work mostly cuz I get a discount. Problem is like when it rains, the sole of my sneaker just peals right off. Then I have to buy another pair. But usually Walmart has a nice selection, they just smell funny for the first couple weeks. They smell like Chinese drywall but then it rains and the smell goes away a little and the sole of the sneaker stars flopping off. And then I'm like, "oh jeeze not again!".
Over.
Priorities bitchez!
I went to Walmart and was appalled by the slovenly appearance of its clientele. Didn't buy anything.
Next month, the new Iwear high end clothing line will appear for Holiday shoppers. Walmart will introduce a lower cost line in similar styles for those with EBT cards.
Yes, but the new Ipad comes with an Obamacare app
one for "Surface" too and the Zune? well maybe not
