Top U.S. Hospitals Are Opting Out Of Obamacare
In the off chance you are actually able to access the website and successfully sign up for the epic disaster that is Obamacare, you might be a bit surprised about your options when you actually encounter a medical issue. Every American that is even considering signing up for this nightmare needs to be aware of the disturbing fact that many of the top hospitals in the nation will not be accepting Obamacare related insurance plans. Even worse, in many cases it is virtually impossible to find out which doctors and hospitals are on your plan.
One of the most egregious examples of failure is the following:
Seattle Children’s Hospital ranks No. 11 on the U.S. News & World Report best pediatric hospital list. When Obamacare rolled out, the hospital found itself with just two out of seven insurance companies on Washington’s exchange.
Seattle Children’s is the only pediatric hospital in King County, and offers keys services, such as cancer care, which are not available anywhere else in the region. So if you sign up for Obamacare, good luck surviving. Fortunately, that represents only about six people at the moment.

Americans who sign up for Obamacare will be getting a big surprise if they expect to access premium health care that may have been previously covered under their personal policies. Most of the top hospitals will accept insurance from just one or two companies operating under Obamacare.
Watchdog.org looked at the top 18 hospitals nationwide as ranked by U.S. News and World Report for 2013-2014. We contacted each hospital to determine their contracts and talked to several insurance companies, as well.
The result of our investigation: Many top hospitals are simply opting out of Obamacare.
Chances are the individual plan you purchased outside Obamacare would allow you to go to these facilities. For example, fourth-ranked Cleveland Clinic accepts dozens of insurance plans if you buy one on your own. But go through Obamacare and you have just one choice: Medical Mutual of Ohio.
Consumers, too, will struggle with the new system. Many exchanges don’t even list the insurance companies on their web sites. Some that do, like California, don’t provide names of doctors or hospitals.

My wife is in Vietnam right now getting a ton of dental work done. Root canal was 75 bucks. Removing wisdom teeth was 50 bucks.
Given she needed to have four teeth removed and a crown, we saved a boat load even at 1.5k for airfare.
Oh, and we can submit claims to our insurance for our costs. I am going to call them on Monday and get a walk through on the paperwork so we get it right the first time. :-)

But then when I need insurance for a good doctor I would quickly sign up for ACA on their website, of course preexisting is covered. Go through the medical treatments, whatever. Then stop paying again and go back to the Rush alternative.

I also hope they enjoy paying higher premiums for smoking and being obese, because the progessive, utopian healthcare program will include these items very soon, of coarse for the compasionate cause of limiting evil healthcare expenditures.
Obamacare uses the "open enrollment" system (just like nearly every company-sponsored insurance with options). You can't just sign up any time. There is a six week window per year (or something like that). So if you get cancer at the right time, bingo, you win. But if you get it six months before the next open enrollment window, no such luck.
On the plus side, if you listen to Rushbaugh for information about the world, you are safe from brain cancer.

I would not presume to debate you about the Keystone pipeline, western access to Canadian oil or anthing remotely attached to that whole subject. We screwed it all up, thanks to our man-child president who has no idea what he's doing on the international stage. For at least the next 3 years, we will continue to screw it up. When real Americans fuck something up, they just admit they fucked it up and try to fix it from there forward. It's how we mess with people's heads outside the US. A majority Did Not vote for Obama. Only a majority of those who voted, voted for Obama. Approximately 65 million people out of approximately 320 million Americans voted for Obama.
What we are actually experiencing is apathy by a majority that allows tyranny by the minority. We outnumber them. Besides, America was not constituted as a democracy, we were constituted as a representative republic but the controls but in place to control true democracy (mob rule) and tyranny have been usurped.
Arius, I have a great deal of respect for the opinion of the majority. And if you trust in that you need to recognize that there was NEVER a majority of Americans that supported Obamacare. Not 4 years ago, not 2 years ago and certainly not now. It was passed against the will of the majority, despite the popularity of our current president both then and now.
One of the little pitfalls of living in a representative republic, not a pure democracy. Allegedly, a Constitutional Republic, but that's been circumvented, too, as all systems can be circumvented by corruption and stupidity.

Had the republicans put up a better candidate in 2012, Obama could have lost, considering the economy. Romney even seemed to be slightly ahead, when Superstorm Sandy seemed to change the ballgame, shifting the momentum back to Obama for good.
How do you know how many people voted for Obama? There are very few polling places left where the reported results have any auditable trail. Electronic voting means you go in, touch the screen a bunch of times, and later are told how you and your neighbors voted. If you think the results are BS it is NOT POSSIBLE for anyone to audit them and prove that yes, there were 1000 votes cast and 501 were for Obama and 499 were for the douche.

Okay, reading more into this Affordable care act, i think i finally understand it, i wanna hear your thoughts on this plausibility . a large part of this bill was written by the ultra-right wing heritage foundation funded by the Koch brothers. They are playing the liberals and conservative public both like fools. They lobbied Ted Cruz via oil money to make a lampooning spectacle of himself calling it "socialism", which it is not, rallying the democrats to support the Koch bros funded ACA unwittingly (it's not like they read a 13,000 page bill anyway, they are merely baffling with bullshit because the lobbyists have paid them to). It is fascism. And many have unwittingly been duped into supporting it as something it is not. Here is the thing. Everyone who has worked on the business side of healthcare in the U.S. at hospitals, insurance companies, or any other healthcare provider knows that getting paid from an insurance company is often very difficult. Insurance companies find any excuse not to pay: including deliberately losing referral information-confirmation numbers, billing statements etc... . In fact, claims representatives have quotas as to how many claims must be rejected each month in many of the insurers. Healthcare providers spend large sums of money and have numerous people who do nothing but try to get the provider paid. Medicare and Medicaid do not have these problems... you bill for a service provided... you get paid... no authorization needed. Does Medicaid pay well? No... but they pay. Whereas some insurance companies, such as Humana and Advantra, are nearly impossible to work with and have reimbursement schedules not much better than medicaid.
When I first saw Obamacare, a law drafted by and for insurance companies, I knew the result would be horrible policies and companies for the large majority of Americans, which most of the best hospitals and doctors would never accept, and premium policies for the handful of the elites and the elderly. Luckily, I don´t live in the United States anymore and hope I do not have to return. My condolensces to all the Americans who will have to live with this legislation until the dollar falls as world reserve currency. I truly am sorry that this has been inflicted on you, but I am sure that 52% of the population still believe the Democratic party is something other than a paid shill for the insurance companies, attorneys unions, big finance, who profits from the increase in foodstamps, welfare, and social security, and a handful of other industries. I am also sure that most hospitals and healthcare providers will continue to take Medicare and will continue to perform large numbers of unnecessary and actually rather cruel operations and medical procedures on people who are very old and unlikely to live long enough to see many benefits from the procedures... while these services will not be available to young, productive people, since this is what the system rewards. When I can see a 40yo woman with chest pain that doesn't sound cardiac and send her home without risking my ability to afford malpractice insurance (every now and then they will have that MI and you can't practice in most any hospital without insurance), until then, costs will not be contained. Most legislaters are lawyers though, so that holy shit can't be touched. Besides, what difference does it make?
In several other countries decisions on patient malpractice are made by panels of medical experts, thus cutting the lawyers out of the traditional third they make. Bankruptcy courts have specially trained judges and malpractice cases are surely at least as complicated as bankruptcy.

I've had this cheap jack policy from Blue Shield of California for some years, they've been feuding constantly with the major hospitals near me and in a given month I have no idea which they approve - they never inform the policy holders! I suppose I could query the web site, but their web site is pretty awful and buggy. Etc.
On top of the excellent post by AurorusBorealus, it is nearly impossible to read insurance policy coverage and compare them, you might trust some web site to do it for you, or not. I figure if I get sick I go to the nearest hospital, get treated, and knowing Blue Shield won't pay even if the hospital *is* currently approved, I get a lawyer and dispute the whole thing for the next eleven years LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES.
I'll bet the Obamacare policies have all kinds of language that attempts to prevent such disputes, and backs that with IRS enforcement, right? Enough to make you sick, ain't it?
There are claims-dispute resolution procedures set out by most insurance policies... an appeal. The provider is required to submit all available information (diagnostic, treatment, etc..) and an MD, paid by the insurance company, will decide if the procedure is a valid claim or no. A good health-care provider, when submitting this information, will prepare it as a legal case, because 1 of 2 things will happen... 1) the insurance company will repeatedly claim it did not receive the appeal (even if you have a signed certified mail receipt that the company received the claim 2) the claim will be rejected for insufficient diagnostic evidence that the procedure was warranted. The next step is a law suit, which is only really worth the trouble is the claim is larger than... say $25,000. So a best practice for many hospitals and doctors is to not provide low-end care, often preventative care, and only go for the large claims (major surgeries, etc...), in case they must begin suing insurance companies and patients to get paid.

Expensive research hospitals priced themselves out of the market before Obamacare took effect. This is well known to anyone that reads the news or has Blue Cross Blue Shield, as they were the first to give them the finger, and that was before Romneycare was changed to Obamacare. Obamacare controls prices unlike socialized countries such as Canada. They don't touch the price of doctors or hopsitals at all, but rather they have price controls on insurance companies, and since everyone will be insured, the hospitals will have to stop using the uninsured as an excuse to trump up charges. The idea is the insurance companies will control the price. That has always worked but it will now be able to work on a larger scale. Albeit everyone won't be happy. The next phase of Obamacare should be to tell the research hospitals: if they cash NIH Grant checks, they will offer fair and reasonable rates on at least certain tests and procedures. It will be interesting at least to see how they respond.
