White House Previews Today's "Lower Than Anticipated" Obamacare Enrollment Announcement - Live Webcast
Press Secretary Jay Carney is desperate to manage expectations ahead of Secretary Sebelius' announcement of the Obamacare enrollment data in an hour:
- CARNEY SAYS ENROLLMENT FIGURES WILL BE LOWER THAN ANTICIPATED
To watch him squirm under a press corps unwilling to take their foot off his throat (for now)... Maybe we can read into this...
- REID SAYS HAVING FULL CAUCUS TOMORROW ON HEALTH CARE
- REID SAYS WHITE HOUSE INVITED TO HEALTH-CARE CAUCUS
...just how bad it is!
And as a reminder:
CMS to announce October #Obamacare enrollment numbers at 3:30 pm EST. #HHS Secretary Sebelius will brief via conf. call.

you got insurance ?
did he just blame the shut down?
answer:yes he did
Calling mr oswald with the swastika tattoo
Problem is that ObamaNationCare is a shitdown.
It's going to be funny to look back and see the one shining example of Obama's healthcare reform was to result in fewer people covered by insurance than when he started.
Once things get bad enough, by design, they can push for single-payer saying they tried to reform the system but it simply cannot be saved!
it is INTENDED to fail.
and they'll push for single payer and claim because of them, it's cheaper....and that's only because they're going to subsidize it
bingo was his name-o
And.. Force deduct from your paycheck
...and lower life expectancy along with skyrocketing personal BK's.
Going to be a field day when DNC mouthpiece 'journalists' are citing the shopping cart number to defend the Obamacare rollout numbers in December. This is going to be followed by a buch of pundit reports defending Obama's vision and success in January. "whisper" is 90,000.
The increase in salaried jobs due to the roll out will likely attempt to drone out the new debt limit Story Arc in Feb/March. Republicans will pull out some 'real enrollment numbers' in March to prove the glut in Washington is growing worse.Tapering will be facilitated by the net increase in gov. workers + hires to facilitate Obamacare & restart in MI projects.
Media will faux shock at size of government. Will focus on it was necessary for the poverty line. Media will cite how hard it would have been on Black Friday without the sweeping changes to Obamacare and how Silicon Valley helped Obama 'clean up' the website. Tech contractors rally for 1H14.
Markets will rally another 8% until Yellen hits the 30% ownership of the bond market and stalls out. Yields start to rise, Hillary announces her run as the Dec numbers are revised upwards on Obama care, aka. Hillary care.
2014 GDP estimates return to 2%/y.
Cycle resets.
EDIT: 3.32 PM: FOX reports 50,000 'enrolled', WASH reports 103,000. according to the shopping cart number. Not bad for an annon on the internet.
Eat your peas
Eat your peas or we will charge you more for our free health care

Squirming? This asshole is the definition of SQUIRMING..
hilarious...
Carney = squirming constipated asshole.
This moron Carney reminds me of a so-called 'Genius' from an Apple store that lied to me recently about a defective apple product, same glasses and all...
The US has lying down to an art form
The US has lying incorrect promises down to an art form
FTFY.
"Beltway-Jay Blarney" makes "Baghdad Bob" look like a candidate for a Nobel Prize in literature. Now If Jay could only pick up a spiffy uniform to wear...
Carney counts on his fingers!
Don't allow Postal Service to deliver cancellation notices. Problem solved...
Executive Order outlawing any communication across state lines. These terrible Insurance speculators need to be isolated and dealt with by Homeland Security!
This guy just blabs empty junk, put there to keep the people and media busy. What a farce.

Barack Mulligan Obama
I upvoted you just for the Mulligan.
Just to make sure that all suggestions are considered, Reid and Obama will only speak with the Democrats in the Senate.
He just said Obamacare was designed to fix a real problem....NOT...it was designed for a power grab....a government power grab..this really has nothing to do about healthcare...
CARNEY SAYS ENROLLMENT FIGURES WILL BE LOWER THAN ANTICIPATED
translation: "There's only one enrollee and that was the website's quality control employee."
translation: "Free hookers and blow at Reid's place. Gambling tables will also be provided. FYI, Michelle said she won't be able to attend."
There is a sequence to things:
1) Event occurs (failed website)
2) The media talks about it
3) The Democrats quietly measure polling on the item and particularly the impact on close races (which Virginia was not supposed to be).
4) The polling results say big trouble
5) Face saving measures are defined and agreed on and will be passed to undo the polling problem.
It's pretty simple, really.
6) Blame Bush or the Tea Party.
And Fineswine chimes in.

DEVELOPING STORY: In yet another blow to the Affordable Care Act, Sen. Diane Feinstein has spearheaded an organized effort to place a 72 hour deadline on the Obama Administration to come up with a magic pill for the millions of policy cancellations smothering political life among Democratic districts nationwide. Today started with WIFree reporting fmr. President Bill Clinton calling the President out, asking him to "change the law" in order to fulfill his "you can keep it" promise, and today Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) garnered support among Senate Democrats to support her bill that changes the law immediately, in regard to "grandfathered plans."
The ultimatum is based upon Senate Dems backing one of two plans in play, one of which is a GOP-sponsored plan.
...
What does she think she is Obama and can rule by dictorial decree.
This gets better.

“I have decided to cosponsor Senator Mary Landrieu’s (D-La.) legislation: Keeping the Affordable Care Act Promise Act. This bill provides a simple fix to a complex problem. This bill will extend the grandfather date for individual insurance plans so that individuals who have insurance policies they like can keep them indefinitely, unless the individual chooses another plan or the insurer stops providing health insurance in the individual market.
“Specifically, the bill requires the following:
...
If you already been cancelled you are still fucked and it doesn't stop the companies from dropping plans between now and December 31st.
What a bunch of fucking weasely cunts both of them are trying to talk out of both sides of their mouths while still not fixing the problem.
So... looking at this, I see that companies must contiue to offer insurance that is illegal under federal law, or else they will violate this new federal law.
I guess pushing back the standards just wasn't doable, huh?
In other news, Congress declares all insurance companies to be criminal enterprises, thus they will be nationalized for our benefit.
Get outta here with your logic.
Unfortunately, can only + once.
"I see that companies must contiue to offer insurance that is illegal under federal law, or else they will violate this new federal law."
Ahhh, you seem confused. Why? Don't you see the hidden trap here? Yes, you can keep your plan - but you will pay a penalty if it doesn't meet the standards! How clever and deceptive, huh?
Are you sure they are talkin' out of their mouths?
By December 31, the insurance companies can and will have canceled folks en mas.
Any law that does not undo the cancelations that have already taken place (and will continue until 12/31) is BS, and NOT 'Keeping the Promise' - but all the ZHers know that.
The BS is already so deep on this one a shovel is not near enough. I'm thinkin' maybe a 7495 110 tons/dip rope shovel:

Might be able to keep up.
Why is it this administration is VERY concerned about spewing the PR, but not at all concerned with ensuring the follow-up with programs that actually work? Obamacare is the headline right now, but remember "HAMP"? The program designed to somewhat protect homeowners from the predatory banksters? Geithner actually told Barofsky the program was actually designed to "foam the runway" for the banks; not to help homeowners. So then, is Obamacare actually designed as payback for the health insurance companies for their political support?
Carney standing on the bottom of the ocean, pretending he's not drowning.
And off topic but bless wikileaks for putting this out.
http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/13/5099236/wikileaks-publishes-leaked-dr...
WikiLeaks has published a leaked draft of a secret international trade agreement that could create stricter laws governing digital copyright and freedom of speech. The leaked chapter focuses on intellectual property rights, and is part of a broader agreement called the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) that has been in the works for several years now between the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and several other countries. Though the draft is being written in secret, it's rumored to be moving toward a fast track through Congress. Some details of the agreement have been leaked in the past, but today's come from a quite recent draft, dated August 30th, 2013 — it's also the only one to detail which countries are in support of which proposals.
The Sydney Morning Herald received an early look at the leaked draft, and notes that it focuses on the United States' federal and corporate interests, while largely ignoring the rights and interests of consumers. "One could see the TPP as a Christmas wish-list for major corporations, and the copyright parts of the text support such a view," Matthew Rimmer, an expert in intellectual property law, tells the Herald. "Hollywood, the music industry, big IT companies such as Microsoft and the pharmaceutical sector would all be very happy with this."
...
TPP is nothing more than a hot trade war with China. If the US thinks they can control hegemony in the east Pacific, well, they would believe the Fed contols the market (whats left of it anyway).
And also off topic, but scary as hell and not on ZH yet, good ole Inforwars:

Aruba – the company that provided the boxes to the Seattle Police Department – brags in its technical literature about how the boxes can keep track of “rogue” or “unassociated” devices, in other words your cellphone even if you have refused to let the system access your device’s wi-fi component.

But these devices also contain work with software from a company called Euclid Analytics that allows stores to collect data on actual and potential customers. (Fortinet is hardly alone in this; Aerohive, Aruba, and Xirrus also build routers that can take advantage of Euclid Analytics software.)

That is how they track the mac addresses on that network there probably a custom built dashboard for the DHS is being used. it is completely legal to ping and accept anonymous pings your phone automatically does looking for local wifi networks to connect to when wifi is enabled. When it isn't enabled well...
And to follow the flow.
http://euclidanalytics.com/product/technology/
Euclid senses smartphones and lets you see how shoppers flow through your store, their visit duration, and return shopping patterns.
Smartphones send out short "pings" as they search for Wi-Fi networks nearby. These pings include the phone's MAC address (a unique string of letters and numbers), signal strength and other non-personally identifiable information.
Using your existing Wi-Fi infrastructure or our compact plug-and-play sensor, we record pings and send them to the cloud. For privacy, we scramble each MAC address using a one-way hashing algorithm.

Could be Brianna Keilar, CNN.
Is this the same Reid who told Forbes "Yes...we needed to get to a healthcare system that abandons insurance as a means of accessing it? "
Yea, he's a credible guy to get these people their old insurance coverage back. Bizarro World continues.
Moral question: If Carney was alone in the woods giving his press conference to an empty chair and a piano fell out of the sky crushing him into the dirt, would anyone give a sh*t? Sound and fury signifying nothing.
Reporter: "The whole damn thing is falling apart."
Carney: "Let us consider the lilies...or the birds."
<----ObamaCare is a greater colossal fuck up
<---- Iraqi War is a greater colossal fuck up
Carney is gullotine bait. Maybe a good first course. Long live the King.
Sorry, but neither one of those is a fuck up (on any scale).
I don't think you understand how the mafia operates and why.
The plan is horrifying. My point was to remind how both sides have gladly taken their marching orders from the elites and that choice is ultimately an illusion. Nuclear Threat, Terrorists, astroids, ______. Its going perfectly to plan...
This cannot be fixed!!

Obama on ObamaCare - "We didn't build that"!
Gotta keep talkin for another 30+ minutes so the press will ignore K. Sebelius CC.
This is a first to my knowledge: a former Secret Service agent going public with his opinions on an adminstration:
"Dan Bongino, the Secret Service agent who turned on President Obama and is running for Congress, says he believes the “toxic” administration is “using government as a weapon exclusively to intimidate enemies.”

So any hits on the webpage are going to be counted as people who signed up (and paid); business as usual.
