Yes, in order to bring ethnicity into the equation on a story like this one, it is necessary to 1) blame minorities for the plight of the white middle class, and 2) divide up the whites into different subgroups, especially by religion. It gets complicated, but it gets the job done.

This chart doesn't even clearly state what it is measuring. Is it measuring employment participation of white males over twenty exclusively, or as a percentage of overall general employment?
If the latter, which I find more likely, then it is obviously greatly due to shifting demographics. Also not mentioned is whether hispaincs are included as 'white' for the purposes of this chart. (unlikely, although for crime statistics, hispanics are very often counted as being white... in an attempt to skew results to favor a predetermined narrative.)

Dude, it has nothing to do with race here. It says that a bunch of white guys got so used to going to the same job every day. And then when that job was no longer needed, they didn't get their lazy cracker asses off the couch to retrain and get a different job. They didn't bust their hump to take a job at Wal-Mart and work up to management. They instead waited for the jobs to come back. Well, in many cases that isn't happening. A Chinese or Indonesian child is working on the assembly line instead.
If a white guy knows math or physics or engineering or something, I can find him four jobs in the next hour. If he says. "I'm in construction. I've always been in construction," then he is probably out on his ass for sometime. Now if he can repair old houses, he just might be able to eke out a living.
I had neighbors in the old place that just sat on their asses and waited for it to come back. I had good friends who got retrained or tried a contracting business on their own. But the time of the assembly line union job that pays a really good wage...well, that is no longer. And that doesn't matter if you are a white guy, some other race, or even a female. This is more than just about white guys, but this is one stat that can point it out.
Dude, there are a hell of a lot of engineers who understand physics, or computer programming, sitting around getting not the least little bite on their resumes. Those jobs were outsourced too, and yet we were never unionized, organized whiners. We were doers, and like being doers. We need it. We were hard working, coffee drinking fact and science driven designers who made all the stuff and amenities in the vast movie set everyone else acts their lives out in, selling each other financial services, filling out forms and filing papers to each other, and suing each other, as near as I can gather, the whole thing being propped up by hope and pretending and wylie-coyote-over-the-canyon-floor suspension of reality.

Over 20 includes retired people, so what this chart shows in large part is:
1) Life expectancy is a lot longer now, so the number of retired white men is much larger relative to working white men. In the good old days, men had not much left in them after a lifetime working in the mine or factory.
2) The baby boom is retiring now too.
3) Labor force participation has declined in all demographics for lots of reasons.
Maybe ZH is angling for a buyout by HuffPost.

Rather than claiming this is disengenuous (sic) you could either look up what "Labor Force Participation Rate" means or take it further and fact check it yourself.
It's great that you want to skew it with talk of crime rates and Hispanics being misidentified as white, but nonsense and conjecture will only get you so far.

The FRED page you linked does not say whether the data measures the percentage of white males (exlusive of other races) over 20 within the labor force, or whether it shows what percentage of the labor force consists of white males over 20.

Okay... by checking the percentages of other races in similar charts, I can reasonably deduce that this chart represnets the percentage of white males participating within the labor force, exclusively.
Hispanics have a higher participation rate, and I can reasonably deduct that they are not included in the 'white' demographic.
Additionally, the percentages add to more than 100%, therfore they must be exclusive to thier stated racial demographic.
It occurs to me that defining what is being measured would be a simpler way of conveying information.
So... I was wrong there. Perhaps I was wrong regarding the spirit of this post as well.

No jobs for white men. The tech industry, for instance, has been racially cleansed. Its rare to find a white person in IT under the age of 35. Yet the engineering schools were generally chock full of them in the late 1990s/early 2000s, studying for the relatively high paying jobs at the time.
The problem with foreigners is that once you hire them, and once they become managers, they rarely consider white people for the jobs. Even if equally qualified. Always hire within their own ethnic communities, so as to re-create the "caste" system of their home-lands.
I thought it was just me who observed this. It is absolute fact! I observed in first hand in Fortune 500 companies in a number of separate instances. And anyone can observe it at their local convenience store or where they get their nails done.
H-1B "guest" worker visa. Another corporate scam. THey not only destroy your job by exporting jobs. They destroy your job by importing workers to work for less. Oh yeah, FUCK the UNIONS because your corprate/government alliance is taking such good care of the working class. Jesus, stupid has become pandemic!

Everyone is allowed to discriminate against others, except the white guy. He's there for everyone else to discriminate against and will be subject to rabid government action should he do anything that someone could construe as discrimination.
