Wal-Mart has terrible ammo prices. They finally got in a few boxes of .380, but a 20/box was more than a 50/box cost a year ago.

I'm done buying anything from Wal-Mart. A worthless store and a destructive corporation.  Did I say "destructive corporation"?  That's a redundancy.

Their ammo prices suck. You have to fnd a clerk to open the case and no one is ever around anywhere.

I avoid the place because it is like EBT illegal alien hell. It is like attending an Obama rally with SEIU, ACORN and La Raza.

They are gonna get squeezed in grocery business by Aldi and Aldi's upscale Trader Joes.  WMT threw in the towel in Germany because Aldi kicked their ass.  Trader Joes will give Whole Foods and others fits as well.

Aldi is much cheaper than WMT.  A gallon of milk at WMT is about $3.29 or so for their brand.  Aldi is $1.99 and it is hormone free.   The Germans are pretty good on food quality as well.  Aldi is spreading out all over.  Aldi produce is much cheaper than WMT.  I think bananas are .59 cents a pound at WMT and Aldi may be .39 cents.  It is crazy.

Someone on ZH did a great analysis on WMT's distribution system or chain and talked about China and how WMT is in for major trouble.  I think their point was Chinese exports will get more expensive and their was a few other points. I wish I could find the post.

They didn't succeed because they didn't want to learn anything about the market they were going to enter. Gemans generally dislike about everything remotely connected to "American shopping culture" be it that stupid greeter at the door or the guy trying to put their goods into bags. They dislike beig aproached by sales droids doing their shopping (unless THEY ask for help themselves).

Face it: Walmart is a nightmare for people who don't need golf carts to move their dysfunctionlal carcasses between rows of useless goods.

Yup, said this yesterday.

People are well into rack clearing at Dollar General. Costco is even beyond them. The only thing saving WMT is that you can buy their crap using EBT. The moment EBT is enabled at Olive Garden and wholesale retail experiences, this thing is going to drop further. Dry goods is going negative, the only thing saving them is their canabalization of Safeway and wholesale food vendors and flipping their margin crushing engine on the agrico sector.

WMT relied upon the same gimmick as Blockbuster did. Use the footprint to crush the small guy, and hope that somewhere in the future by crushing ALL the competition, you can bump the prices and profits back up. Sam Walton never figured circa 1970 that there would be a day when everyone would expect Everyday low prices to be the New Normal. Or that a depot + fedex called AMZN would undercut him further.

SO best they can pray for is a slow squeeze death, or that somehow magically owning ALL the retail spaces will give them the ability to not become the Global Sears-Robuck.

This being said, if someone does magically restart the system by discovering the "next semiconductor revolution" this will be the first thing that bounces back. Ha, goodluck that happening this generation.

Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Big Lots all take EBT as well. DG and FD continue to take share from Walmart because people don't have to walk a huge box store and can buy their EBT shit faster at DG and FD than Walmart.

Since The dollar stores typically target in just a 5 mile radius from each store, they also gain an advantage because they pull more "foot traffic" from people that don't have an automobile for transportation.

The only thing saving WM @ss right now is the new store growth via Neighborhood Markets, WM's comp store sales are struggling to show any growth, and only new stores are saving their otherwise dismal earnings outlooks.

The boom in Dollar General, Family Dollar and the next level down of food stores that only sell out of date food is a sure sign of how fucked up the economy is. The "food" that these places sell is more dangerous to the human body than starvation.

proves you're an idiot believing just anything (probably even in God). Ever heard the term "best before"?

Just as an exercise: Why again is the EU refusing the import of US beef? (Why is raw ground meat - even pork - healthier than a fried piece than a heat-sterilized US steak?)

+100

This is true.  I went into a new WMT.  It is like a big grocery store with a much smaller dept store.  I think it is their new format due to EXACTLY what you said.  It is an EBT grocery store now and they had a much smaller area for clothes and stuff.  No one has money for stuff but they have EBT cards for packaged GMO snack food and a smaller amount of real food.

No .223 in stock either.  I look even though I lost my gun in a boating accident.

What was even more sickening is most of the customers and many employees did not speak English or barely spoke English.   The store part had a few people looking at stuff while the food part was crowded.

WMT is now almost ALL EBT cards.  This IS their main business.

I am not hurting, thank goodness, but I don't spend moeny on anything now.   I would only spend money on ammo and PM but I lost my gold (probably really Ft Knox tungsten) in another boating accident.

The Federal Government, by making less income.

The TBTF Wall St banks, by not doing business with them, incl. withdrawing all deposits.

Wal Mart, by not shopping there, and ideally, if you are a supplier, not supplying them.  Or as an employee, by quitting.

I did a ton of reseach before I bought my setup(Dillon Precision 650xl). All told I probably spent about $1200 on equipment(reloader, case feeder, dies for 9mm & 45acp, scale, calipers, gages) but it paid for itself very quickly. If you go in on it with a friend like I did it pays back even faster. If you call Brian Enos he is super cool and will get you set up

I buy bullets, powder, and primers in bulk. Save your brass!  Cost breakdown for 45acp is below:

bullets 185gr LSWC $82/1k (I buy 2k at a time)http://www.snscasting.com/45-acp-185-gr-swc-45_185swc/

Bullseye powder $24/lb (good for about 1400 rds @4gr/bullet)

cci300 primers $220/5k

Here is a handy reloading calculator http://ultimatereloader.com/tools/reloading-costs-calculator/

Prices have gone up a bit over the last year(primers especially). When my current supplies run out it will probably cost me about $7.34/50rds($147/1k)

I can crank out about 600rds/hr if I really go at it.

I no longer feel like I am taking food out of my kids mouth if I go out and blast off 3-400rds in a session :)

If the shit made in China was actually good, who could argue?  Other than the lost jerbs thing....

But most of the stuff made in China is absolute garbage.  There is no quality control, because there is no quality.  All we are doing is creating Asian jerbs and stuffing our landfills with their toxic shit.

I'm tired of buying something that is "cheaper", but lasts 1/50th the time compared to the USA made stuff of 20 years ago.

One consequence of which is nobody knows how to fix anything any longer. Hit the auctions and estate sales for some old school made in America tools, from a time when there were standards and people took pride (I know, what's that?) in their work. We have become a throw away society; everything from toasters to people.........

Don't forget flea markets. People go absolutely insane at auctions, paying retail ++ for items, and I tend to avoid them.

Estate sales are usually good, for the people selling the items want cash now, and usually will cut you some great deals.

And Craigslist can be good if the items are local. Results may vary, of course.

Youtube often has some great how to videos, and that saved me a few dollars working on my vehicle for the owners manual more or less is telling you take the vehicle in for service no matter how minor the problem is.

Hell, I'll just bought a 1960 Snap-On boxed in wrench set vs a brand new set at virtually the same price.

Southern Europe blames Germany but it was really the EU-SSR, "free trade" with China and the expensive euro that hurt countries like Italy.  The gangsters in the EU-SSR launched the euro about the same time they sold out to China.

Italy was doing well in nicer textiles, furniture and other products.  The cheap Chinese crap flooded in and the Italians were stuck with the teuer-o.  If they had the lira, they could have adjusted a little.  Greece also did textiles and tourism but the expensive currency killed that along with EU-SSR regulations.

My thoughts exactly. Wal mart gets every break from government and huge EBT business and they're still going down.

Walmart falls a couple of percent and that is a $5 billion loss in market cap.  Not to worry, here is Twitter worth $31 billion and Snapchat worth $4 billlion.   And Facebook's valuation has gone up by $6 billion in the last two days.  And another tweet from Carl Icahn will add $20 billion to Apple's market cap.  And to top it all, Europe will soon be engaged in QE and Janet Yellen will probably increase QE to $110 billion a month.  Bitcoin is at $434 after hitting $447.5 today.  All is well in the virtual world.  Why do you want to bring in real-world problems into our virtual utopia?

It's not that WMT attracts a disproportionate number of losers.  It's that WMT shoppers are a random cross-sample of a deteriorating citizenry.  America is turning into a nation of clueless, poorly-educated, apathetic consumption addicts.  Just stop the first person you see on the street and ask them what they know about Edward Snowden.  If you get more than a blank stare, go buy a lottery ticket. Aw heck, them there mc-corporate babylonians do not care about a few ca-jillion paper dollars here, or there.

Heck, they do not want to profit at all since throwing in the towel with the evil darkness that is only created to take them the way it is ALL going faster and faster...down. No profits for fools that invest in WAR year after year? Awwww. Maybe it is because all Americans would rather WORK at seeing more and more "Made in America" products and services, than those of foreign bankster/big oil butt-ugly oligarchs.

As goes wally-world...so goes the economy. There is nothing but govt subsidized poverty, and govt jobs of those slaving for the slaves of the falling empire of dust that seems to be able to keep it all afloat defying normal laws of any universe, on a one legged stool of the fool. Truly, black has become white and the average soul on board is pretty OK with that for now. It is sure easier and lazier to embrace the pacifier of ignorance, than it is to wield the true double-edged Sword of Truth, and Justice for ALL.

This year in America no one is spending anything on anything for any one for Christmas. Rather, most are creating things from the heart that are hand made. As it was spoke about here some time ago by some fine contributors of the present forum, many people are canning and dehydrating last years crops for gifts, and hand made arts to send for Christmas this year. Old fashioned is really going to come into play and this is good in the sense that it will ONLY bring people closer together. Can you say, brotherly love?

The costs to send a simple box to the family are getting beyond ridiculous also. Just another nail in the depression coffin. Soon, no one will be shopping or sending anything anywhere. It will be the prison country it is becoming and no money will be spent, because the babylonian machines have sucked every one dry of that green energy it takes to merely survive in the corporate babylon.

Lets hope there is an election. Watching every single incumbent demopublican and republicrat get thrown OUT of office will be funny to watch. This is the year of first overcoming the voting machines with real honest paper ballots, and then the elections of many many real constitutional non-blackmailable well vetted and deemed worthy by the past backgrounds of past life performance new generation of statesmen, and women to work for the united States!

And do ya wanna know exactly WHY this is happening? All fall down??

Because stupid is as stupid does, and here is real proof of just how stupid the al-cia-duh are. Or, where all the trillions of American tax dollars are going to. The phoney-baloney farce war on terror. Notice those really Syrian looking faces in the photo below.:

I totally control the finances around here now.  For many years I left grocery shopping to Mrs. M but then she left for Russia with a the kids for six weeks.  I had to take stock of what I had on hand.  Everything immediately became "How cheap can I be?".  I started with everything that was in the fridge figuring that would go to hell first.  What can I make from this and is it still good yet?  Of course it is still good yet you just have to boil it moar.

Alright the fridge is cleaned out, so now what.  What's in the freezer?  Oh yeah, that is plenty good yet.  I can make soup from whatever that is.  It was a huge salvage operation to extract whatever calories I could.  Yes, I even hit my 2007 "end of the world" pasta stockpile but I eventually got tired of that.  Now what to do?  So off to Wal-mart I went.

Wal-mart is not bad on all things pricewise but they are not the cheapest on everything.  Wal-mart's meat department is a disaster.  Even I can't eat that shit.(unless I had to)

Furtunately for me, I have always been a good grocery shopper and I stop in to some of the local grocery franchises, the ones wth 20 or less stores.  A lot of the times the prices are higher but they actually do have a butcher on staff and the meat is decent.  The smaller grocery chains around here also run specials and offer coupons.  Lot's of times it is a buy one get one free type of deal on things you actually need.(protein)  Mrs. M and the feedlings returned in early October.  Why they came back I do not know.  Love costs money but that is a different story.

In six weeks, I had figured out the rhythm of the coupons that the smaller grocers use and have taken advantage of it.  Wal-mart does not do this.  My total grocery bill for the whole six weeks was $49 and some change.  I check the ads when they come out on Sunday and then I roll in my 2001 Hyundai Accent 1.5 liter SOHC hot rod to score the deals.  My best savings so far was 42% off the total bill.  I had 38% off the other day.

So I bought another WB7 print.  You can too.

Aldi is better and cheaper than WMT.  WMT threw in the towel on Germany because they could not compete with Aldi.  If you want more gourmet then go with Aldi's Trader Joe's chain.  Aldi also sells hormone free milk.  I think Trader Joe's also has all non-GMO.

Wal-Mart has good stuff at low prices.

Their store-brand ("Good Value") brown mustard is very good, as are their salty snacks (potato chips & corn chips).

They have an off brand of white gas ("Coleman Fuel") that's cheap and works fine.  Buy a case of 6 one-gallon cans and you're good for a while.  The stuff stores forever - it doesn't degrade like gasoline.

They also sell an off brand of cherry-flavored antacid that's very reasonably priced and works well for acid reflux heartburn in the middle of the night.

That's about it.  The rest of the four acre store is full of stuff too, but nothing I'm interested in buying.  They have two dollar waffle irons on sale for $1.98, but Mrs. Tippy's old West Bend still works just fine.

90% of walmarts revenue comes from welfare checks and ebt.

Walmart could not have gotten as big as it is without government aid / corporate welfare.

Off topic but to manipuflation,   I took a fine 8 point buck a week ago today.  I was ten minutes in the tree stand and he came by.  I had to call my son-in-law to help me get him out of the woods.  I think he probably went 180 dressed out.  I skinned and cut him up over the next two days and now set in the freezer for venison.  I still need to take a doe for the farmer but I enjoy sitting in the woods.  Did all the processing myself exept I had a shop grind the ground meat and add some beef fat for me.  I no longer own a grinder.  Good luck if you are hunting this next few weeks.

A retailer is defined by its shoppers.   Google "people of walmart" for some pictures of the low life degenerates who shop at Walmart today.   Walmart is becoming known as the SNAP welfare market.   Why they shop there no one knows.   The food section is overpriced.   I guess SNAP card are like free money, the people who use them just aren't price sensative.  Walmsrt has a policy of allowing people to camp in its parking lots.    It won't be long before most people, especially women, will be ashamed or frightened to go there.

Growth can hide a lot of problems.   Once Walmart runs out of locations to expand to it will implode like a house of card.   Same as Kmart did years ago.

They need to expand into "Financial Services" and everything will be fine.. become Bank of Walmart and get you money for free and don't worry about being China's outlet chain.

WMT has been trying to bribe their way to a banking license for years, but the bankocracy won't allow it.  They don't want the competition, seeing what Wal-Mart did to the local pharmacies and grocery stores.  Some went out of business, the rest saw profits plummet.  WMT does offer banking services in Mexico, as well as financing of purchases.  They charge about 80% annual interest.  They'd do the same here if they could buy enough Congressmen and bank regulators.

walmart has bank services in some Illinois locations.  Of course there are no usuary laws in the state so payday loan stores can charge 400% a year legally.  go figure

You should deal with a muslin bank.  They can't charge usuary intrest.
