Responding to his administration’s ongoing struggles with the launch of Obamacare, President Barack Obama announced a proposal today that would enable insurance companies to grant one-year extensions to the health plans of Americans who would otherwise face cancellation. Here are some of Obama’s other plans to fix the troubled rollout of his signature health care law:
1. Replacing glitchy healthcare.gov website with a convenient in-person enrollment kiosk located in Washington, D.C.
2. Enrollees allowed to keep preexisting medical conditions
3. Customers will no longer be automatically opted in to the weekly newsletter “Talkin’ Premiums” when they purchase insurance on the exchange
4. Allowing enrollees choice of whether to stay with their current doctor or go with well-regarded Minneapolis-area general practitioner Dr. Joel Glochowsky
5. Losing the semicolon in Chapter V, section 5, clause B
6. As a preventive measure, each American receives free raw steak to reduce swelling on shiners
7. Meeting insurance companies halfway by letting them cancel health care plans for only the sickest patients
8. Obama agrees to preface all future health care updates with statement, “This thing is a hell of a mess”
9. Eliminates requirement for every enrollee to contract terminal disease
10. Offering easy-to-follow instructions on how to snap your own neck in the event that you are diagnosed with cancer and lost your insurance
11. Changing website background to blue

Didn't read it as we know its fiction anyway, so no point wasting time on it

Are the bloomberg hack reporters really that dumb to publish such idiotic attempt to fool us?

LoLoLoLoL there are so many shit turds in these 2 paras, i cant bear to read the rest of it. Has anyone missed the point of the whole scandal? - > "It doesnt matter if you have the best lock in the world on your home, if you leave the key under the doormat"
Bitcoin hits $450.... nobody likes government clown bucks any more.
I've been looking at localbitcoin.com (as people here said stay away from the big exchanges like Mt Gox) and any of the top sellers all use big banks to do their transactions, TD, Scotia, RBC, BMO, etc...and their selling price is often times well above the spot. $20, $30 even $50 bucks higher. Buying offers are the same, well below spot at $375 to $400.
Is this normal in the Bitcoin world? Are the spreads always this wide and extreme?
BOP I am not a bitcoin advocate but I am interested, although without being able to have any concept of whether it is overvalued. But $20-$30 above spot seems in line with gold, maybe off by a percent. The offers do make it sem a bit wide. It does not scare me completey away though.
You should only pay a premium for physical bitcoin. Any attempt to get you to pay premiums for paper bitcoin is a scam.
That's funny. There's no such thing as physical bitcoin. It's all virtual, does not even have paper you can burn for warmth. It does however leave a trail of who bought what with who.
Not sure I'm on board with it just yet. Still reading up on it.
Physical BitCoin = CounterfeitCoinTM
Yeah there is... https://www.casascius.com/
Actually there are physical representations of bitcoins, some even minted out of gold and silver:

I don't know much about these or bitcoin itself for that matter, just encouraging people to do a little research before making blanket statements.
This is a sarcasm piece, right? <sarc off
Sure there is. You can print them out or copy to a thumb drive and keep them in a safe. It's just data. In fact, maybe the safest way to avoid having your "wallet" stolen is to keep it offline.
The spreads on BTC are bullshit. Pure manipulation and only possible because the market is virginal. There isn't any reason for BTC to have a spread larger than any other currency, because that's what it is -- a currency, not a commodity. It is clearly NOT a commodity, because it has no use except as a medium of exchange -- unlike gold. The "risk" of holding bitcoin does not justify the spread -- that "risk" is built into the exchange rate. Normal currencies on FX have spreads measured in 1/100th of a percent, which is a reasonable fee for the market markers given that there's no risk. I can't even see how the relative illiquidity of bitcoin (compared to e.g. the dollar) justifies these kinds of spreads.
Get your bitcoins in trade. Sell something for bitcoin on craigslist. (They can be divided infinitely - a "satoshi" is 0.00000001, or one hundred millionth of a bitcoin. Try *that* with your dollar -- positive-growth deflationary economy, anyone?) Or else just download the code and start mining, join a mining community that shares payouts. Do NOT pay these scamming market makers, that is pure bullshit.
It has been disappointing to watch these giant exchanges rise up. The whole point of bitcoin is that you don't even need an exchange, a clearinghouse, or any trusted third party. (Do you use an "exchange" to pay cash for something?) The bitcoin implementations are P2P. You don't even need a server. All you need is a to: address. The only thing these exchanges are for is speculation or, I suppose, money laundering.
If you want to understand bitcoin and how it works, the original paper is here and it's not difficult reading.
Silicon Valley nerds do as they are told.
Yet you chose to waste your time posting drivel. Since the article is fiction it has a lot in common with the "affordable" care act.

I'm sorry, but am I the only person who has a problem with trusting this guy to not prosecute me for failing to follow the law? I mean after all, he is now proven to be a notorious liar. How can you trust him to not rat-fuck you regardless of what he says?
That's it I'm in.
I, for one, am glad to be losing my doctor due to Obamacare. Seriously, he gives me NO RESPECT, NO RESPECT at all! He gave all his patients pictures of me...to use as birth control!!!

I think Pelosi has gone completely fucking insane:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who shepherded Obamacare through the House as speaker, said Obama was “very gracious” in making that apology but that the president’s words – in the context of the law – were “absolutely” precise.
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/11/house-democrats-obamacare-promise-...
She was fucking insane to begin with. Who stands up before the world and announces that its an honor to vote on a bill that no one has read because what's in it is just so damned jiucy?
Good point. What's beyond insanity then? Whatever it is Pelosi qualifies.
Q: What's beyond insanity then?
A: all the dumfucktard Californians who keep putting her in office - I hope ALL Californian fucktards get their insurance canceled
Beyond insanity is just plain wickedness.
Because that means they know what they're doing and doing with a conscience that is seared by years of such actions against any moral standards of right and wrong.
which is how you end up with United States of America Federal Govt adverstisements for obamacare the promotes promiscuity - obamacare for sluts - how embarassing - the whole world must be laughing at how low we have sunk - what a bunch of debauched idiots we have become - sodom & gomorrah - reckoning day is coming
Speaking of Sunk, where is Lex Luthor and a beach front real estate scam when you need him. I often wonder if California setting sail for Hawaii would be in Amercias best interest at times.
Not fair. This f%^#tard Californian (at least for a few more months) has been raging against our idiotic politicians for years. We are just outnumbered. At least I don't have a policy to be cancelled.
move - that's what I did - I was a dumfucktard Californian for years until I wised up and got the hell out - I didn't land in perfectville but at least its better than Califmarxville
"move - that's what I did"
I'm working on it actively. If all goes according to plan, I'll be living in Grand Cayman by June. Already moving the corporation to NV on Jan. 1.
Transplanted street-walking whore from Baltimore...what's near Baltimore? DC? Bitch is back in the swamp whence she oozed! I'd like to have her and all this ilk cancelled!
You can't just walk away from California, their tax man will follow you and demand payment of some obscure tax you forgot to pay at one time, or they will just make it up cause they can. Don't leave a forwarding address, just disapear into the ether.
We are just outnumbered...
More like gerrymandered into obscurity. A lot of time, energy, and money was spent to impliment the wickedly deceptive practice of developing the sacro-sanct districts old time, deeply entrenched, multi-term politicos are allowed to call "home".

Forgot about Harry Reid, didya?
I always thought Pelosi was Harry Reid in drag...
Pelosi sounds like she's been hanging with Maxine...
12. Light a match to the Constitution.
no need - almost all the brainwashed dumfucktard people in this country don't give a rats ass about it
Actually, some of the dumbestfucktarded people are those that think that no improvement in politics or government can have been made in 300 years. These same dumbfucktards also conveniently ignore the "founders" advice that the country and its Constitution will need a complete rewrite every generation, or every 20 years, because of this needling force called "change."
And of course, those same dumbfucktards think that an insurance-based market for healthcare actually makes sense. It doesn't. For tolerably obvious reasons. Healthcare is a service. People need services, not insurance against risk -- especially in a society where there are a whole lot of fucktards that, despite having no net worth, continue to worship an economic model that has produced the most severly unequal wealth destribution in the civilized world, right here in the USA, where 90% of the financial wealth is held by the top 5%, far out of proportion to their social utility. Those 5%, by the way, pay cash for their health care.
No need when the iSheeple are too damn stupid to know WTF the constitution is.
It truly saddens me to agree with your comment.
"The constitution?
Is that a new app for monitoring my bowel movements?"
Yes. Drop iPhone into uAss and watch it closely...
In case you were wondering how Obama could wave his magic dictator's wand and "allow" insurance companies to offer non-compliant (illegal) policies. He can't. Not really. He can't make the policies legal, but what he can do is tell the insurance companies he won't prosecute them for offering illegal policies. So Obama is telling the insurance companies: "Don't worry, it's OK to issue illegal policies because I promise my administration won't prosecute you." In other words, Obama can't make the policies legal, so he's encouraging the insurance companies to break the law.
So encouraging the insurance companies to break the law is Obama's big "fix"! So how's that for great health insurance reform? Oh, yeah, and what a wonderful way to govern the country: encourage law-breaking. Given the example this President sets, why should anyone else feel compelled to follow the law about anything?
And if you do ever get caught, claim you're an illegal alien.

Absolutely correctomundo! While the very definition of "discretion" or "discretionary" has its roots in the discretion of a prosecutor to bring criminal charges, and that such discretion on referring charges is absolute, the crime(s) which that prosecutor might deem unworthy of prosecution have already transpired. It boggles the mind if Obama, WH Counsel, and AG don't understand what would be the difference between a prosecutor failing to bring charges against a particular person for a particular crime of murder on the one hand, versus on the other hand, announcing that people are free to commit murder in their jursidiction because the prosecutor won't be prosecuting murderers, but only for the next 12 months. As long as we're being technical, the president also has the absolute discretion to grant pardons, but pardons can only be granted AFTER the crime, not before it, and Nixon couldn't pardon himself, so it was done by Pres. Gerald Ford.
This is arguably treasonous, in that the chief LEO is UNCONSTITUTIONALLY promising to overlook law-breaking. If that is not a violation of his oath the uphold the Constitution, what is? The Founding Fathers probably never imagined that we'd have POTUS who was a criminal who was proud of his crimes, such as trying to rival Josef Stalin in suppressing dissent with targeted murders and indiscrimnate genocidal killings, both at home and abroad. But if you can get away with murder, and brag about being a good at murdering, the sky is the limit, and here we are.
LEOs, judges, military soldiers, elected representatives, and all other federal officers on taking office swear an oath to uphold the law, and defend the country against all enemies, foreign and domestic ... but the president does not take such an oath, instead saying, per Article 2, Section 1: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of the President of the United States, and will, to the best, of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." No person is above the law, because we no longer are ruled by Kings and Queens.
The Constitution makes the president the chief prosecutor of crimes since the Attorney General serves at his pleasure, per Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre -> Robert Bork. But enforcing law is very opposite of breaking the law. For him to DEMAND that insurers violate the law would make it criminal racketeering and conspiracy if they did as they were instructed, which it seems they won't. Isn't there already, even without seeing those meeting records, of circumstantial evidence of a CONSPIRACY at the highest level of government to violate the law, coming as it did after Obama and Sebellius met with CEOs of insurance companies? Let's say that Obama is properly impeached and the insurance companies are charged by a later law-enforcing president with violating the laws they were told to violate ... their defense is even shakier than dog ate my homework. Illegal contracts are null and ACA-related health-insurance contracts or cancellations thereof could alll be properly declared null and void leaving the country's entire healthcare system at a total standstill where only the lawyers would have anything to do, and do they would. Talk about the smelly can of worms and Pandora's box it opens.
Think of the hornet's nest of Due Process and Equal Protection civil rights violations (not to mention ordinary tort damages) for each policyholder if some insurance companies (as is their wont) might choose to selectively comport with this nonsense (if they had stupid lawyers or wanted to bring down the house of cards pronto) ... but only after a selective review of their cancelled policies where they would reinstate only the ones where they believe it is to their advantage to do so. They could be charged with massively numerous violations of STATE insurance law (for each individual account) in each of the individual states in which they have issued those "deformed" policies. Yes, per prosecutorial discretion, the president could surely instruct the Attorney General to not enforce laws which he properly seems to be unconstitutional, or which he deems to be contravened by other federal laws more in line with current intent of Congress, but those would be the two biggies, and this is clearly neither. Yes, many old laws are never enforced yet remain on the books. The Attorney General has no jurisdiction to contravene both federal law, and/or any state laws, for that matter. They're supposed to be enforcing the laws, not encouraging their violation, fer chrissakes!
Obama keeps lurching from one stupidity to another. One explanation could be that it's all intentional and he's a Manchurian Candidate implanted with control devices programmed to destroy the entire country's rule of law and economic system. It would be a massive hornet's nest if the state-regulated insurance companies arbitrarily reinstate cancelled policies for some and not for others. That would be a tort-lawyer's WET DREAM for class-actions! It''s a sad state of affairs that the large insurance companies saying NO today have more common sense than the author of Obamacare.
Today's invitation (rejected out of hand as unfeasible by all the large insurers in my state) very explicit shows that rule of law no longer applies and that we're ruled by an oligarchical fascist dictatorship of government in collusion with profit-making corporations.
All the dumfucktards that voted for this marxist asshole thought they were going to get 'free gummit healthcare'.
Well, get it right Mr. Prez - give the people what they want - free gummit healthcare
All problems solved.
unplugged The people that matter to Mr. Prez ARE GETTING FREE HEALTHCARE......... that would be the Free Shit Army who always get free healthcare and free everything else ! That would include the non-citizen FSA from south of the border and the import muslims. As long as the parasites are cheering for him, nothing will change.
agreed - perhaps its high time we join the FSA, go galt, crash the system
unplugged The ACA system did crash because the PFSA (paying for the free shit army) said "we ain't playing" . If you don't volunteer to get fucked sometimes you don't.
If you live in a red state, please don't drive on the Interstate. The amount of tax money collected from your state (and from you) could not begin to pay for the costs of those beautiful roads (or even your fractional use of them.) So if you drive on them, that constitutes "free shit."
'Red' and 'blue' are MSM slogans that keep the Depublicrat Party in power.
Eff 'em all.

You've posted this out and out lie a bunch of times; I'm calling you on it. Federal excise tax on gas: 14 cents/gal. Average state tax: 28 cents/gal. # of gallons of gas used in the year (2011) in the US: 132 billion. That's $52 billion dollars NOT including tolls, NOT including diesel taxes. Forget the state contribution; just focus on the federal - $17 billion a year. 48,000 miles of interstate ~$350,000 per mile. The highest price I could find for maintaining one mile of interstate was less than $50,000 per mile, and that was I-75 in Detroit, perhaps the most abused freeway in the country (in terms of total traffic, truck traffic as % of total, and weather). Let's go nuts, and say it costs $3 million to build a mile of interstate (it doesn't), and that it only last twenty years before needing total replacement (it lasts longer), and you are still collecting $3 million per mile over and above construction and maintenance costs.
You are as full of shit as Bambam, just a different flavour. People pay for the roads they use, and the ones that use them the most, pay the most. No FSA on the highway.
Please do. That would rid us quickly of the egoists (who use the misnomer "individualist") as they will certainly be the first to starve.
In a collapse, the true state of nature returns, and only cooperative groups have any chance at survival. There may or may not be atheists in foxholes, but there are no individualists in an apocalypse -- not for long, anyway.
Well, actually the 55% of people who either collect gov benefits or work in some way for dot gov DO GET FREE HEALTH CARE. So no way to vote the parasites out. They have the majority.
12. Free mandatory euthanasia for all former Presidential boyfriends.
Excerpt from Article 2, Section 3:
"He shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed"
If the law was implemented, even though it is unconstiutional, (thanks John Roberts you fraud) and the insurance comapanies had to abide by the law, the President has NO AUTHORITY to NOT ENFORCE a part of the law which he created. There can be no arbitrary enforcing or not enforcing a law because of any political recourse. This, among many examples of this President, is Impeachable.
Not that I'm expecting this to happen, but just a thought. I guess I should post this on CNN for the sheeple to see, but you are not allowed to disagree with the Messiah.
At the risk of outing myself.
I live in Minneapolis and my name is Dr Joel Glochowsky.
I do not accept medicade nor medicare.
I do not support the ACA, and deeply resent my name being connected to this travesty.
Hey, deal with it. What, you think you're the only Dr. Joel Glochowsky in the phone book? LOTSA GUYS are named Dr. Joel Glochowski, so get over yourself. You don't hear John Q. Public getting upset every time someone takes his name in vain. My name, oddly enough, is DDS Gloel Jochowsky, so you can see just how frequently these things can occur.
Thank you kind Sir for putting things in perspective.
I humbly retract My indignation.
Reinstate your indignation. He spelled the Dr.'s name wrong on the second fucking try.
Joel, we love you. Can I borrow your prescription pad?
Oddly you're a doctor that doesn't know how to spell medicaid.
maybe we can get these people and beat their record $20 billion dollars for a failed healthcare system!

the mental midgetry around here is way out of control lately:
(reposted)
abguy4 comment from another blog: Since this is a somewhat enlightened, truth seeking community, could we please stop calling this fiasco, "ObamaCare"?
It just plain grates on me. Why? Well, I previously posted a long version of this personal anecdote which I will condense here once more. I am personal friend with a prior Pfizer V.P. On one occasion a few years ago, I used the term 'ObamaCare' in his presence, in his home. He held up his hand, palm to me, and said; "Don't use that term in my presence. It makes you sound stupid. Firstly, Obama never read a single page of that 1000 page Bill, and Secondly, it's certainly NOT about Care. OK? We (the Pharmaceutical Industry), employed a team of 100 or more lawyers, over roughly a ten year period, to draft that Bill. How do you think that appeared at 1000 pages and cross-linked to other Bills , etc?. That Bill was designed specifically to funnel a minimum of an additional $100 Billion per year - at the outset (!) - to the Pharmaceutical industry, by way of the Medical Insurance Companies Industry, with whom we are in intimate partnership. The $500 Million we dumped on Congress to get that pig through, was one hell of a cheap investment, don't you think?. We saw the Banksters get their 'bail-out' -and we spend damn near as much in Lobbyists as they do - so we pulled-out all the stoppers and went in for our "bail-Out". See?" He said a lot more but let's stick with my condensed version.
Sometimes we forget how deep the rabbit hole is, and we shudder to think how deep it actually goes. Obombster is nothing but a puppet placed in front of us to take the blame or credit as you choose. He's a god damn bag man at best. He does the bidding of the highest bidder and so does 98% of everyone else in Gov. Right now their employee reviews are looking stellar. Look at who writes their reviews and their real paychecks and you will see that the Puppet Masters are damn well-pleased with their employees.
So....maybe we refer to Ob-Care as "Medical Industry Bail-Out". I dunno.........but, this sticks in my head;
"It ain't about Obama, and it certainly is not about care!"
The thought that you believe that most of us are unaware of the facts behind zerocare is astounding. Yes we call it Obamacare, or Zerocare, or whatever the fuck care. That doesn't mean we are unaware of who the real beneficiaries are. Nor does it mean we don't know that Obama, and Bush before him, are mere lightning rods to divide the populus and provide us with the illusion of choice. The fact is he willingly participates in the deception, and therfore deserves our derision.
'most of us'?
his post epitomized the ignorance of so many shoot-from-the-hip idiots have been posting on this subject.
i'm confident you can discern the difference, but not so sure about 'most of us'.
many posts on this topic lately depict the posters as a bunch of frothing-at-the-mouth lunactics ready to pin all the blame on a figurehead that makes little to no decision about anything except maybe what's for dinner. probably not even that.
Spot on. It's about the rich and their proxies, the corporations, as usual.
The little man always gets screwed.
An insurance-based market for healthcare cannot be made to work. Oh, it can make plenty of money all right, but it won't "work."
FUCK YOU JOHN ROBERTS.
We can't ... Barry's drilling him in gratitude as we speak (John's a 'bottom').
Oh, please. Roberts is merely the latest in a long chain of helpless fools.
As usual, not one man in a thousand is striking at the root.
Money owns politics. We do not have democracy in this country. We have elections, but that is not the same thing.
And if you shout the word "republic" at me, I slap you upside the head. A republic is good for the preservation of capital and status quo, perhaps. This is why that arch-conservative Plato championed it. No one was more afraid of social change than he.
'Black man elected to America's worst job' were words I read on the onion back in 2008 after the nitwit was elected.
Maybe if everybody would just pray for the healthcare.gov web site to be fixed, it would be. It would be a miracle.
All 535 members of Congress are insane right now. It is beyond the pale.
muleskinner I hope that was sarc, cause the LAST thing we need is for ACA to be fixed. FU Obonzo and your healthcare.
Some are waking up:
House Republicans introduce resolution to impeach Attorney General Holder
Obamacare is and will forever be a disaster because the govvies are spending our money.
1) FACT - In 2006 Medicare announced that only 7 percent of its payments were a result of fraud. Two years later, The New York Times reported that it was actually 31.5 percent -- and that Medicare had aggressively hidden the fraud from outside auditors.
2) FACT - In federal programs, there's a powerful incentive not to look for fraud. That would merely vindicate critics of big government!
3) FACT - In 2012, Medicare's crack investigators noticed that more than a billion dollars in home health care payments for 2008 had gone to one single county in Florida -- more than all such payments made to the rest of the entire country.
4) FACT - Do you think it would take five years for a private insurer to figure out it had been scammed out of $1 billion by a few health care professionals in one county? Anyone else would notice being stolen from, but not the government. It's not their money.
From Ann Coulter
FACT: #2 is a complete farce. How could fraud possibly "vindicate critics of big government?"
We would first have to accept that the fraud takes place *because* of big government. Not just that fraud takes advantage of big government. If someone is looking to commit fraud, they're naturally going to go where the money is, whether it's private or public. Incidentally, there is no dearth of fraud in the private sector.
#4 - well let's see. How long did it take "private" individuals to find out about Madoff? About Ponzi? About Enron, Global Crossings, Behr Stearns, or Lehman Brothers? Is there any reason, aside from propaganda and ideology, to think that "private" persons are any different than "public" persons, either in ability or behavior? If you think it's easier to dupe government than a "private" company, try cheating on your taxes.
#5 FACT: Any fraud you know about, is fraud you can prosecute. If we know that 30% of the payments are fraudulent, presumably we're prosecuting those people. Is there any reason to think we aren't?
#6 FACT: If I make 2 payments, one for $1 and one for $100, and the $1 payment is fraudulent, then 50% of my "payments" are fraudulent. But only 1% of the funds used to make payments were used to pay fraudulent claims. Since we can be certain that someone like Ann Coulter would word her criticism in the strongest possible terms, it's likely that it's the number of payments, not the % of funds, that are paid fraudulently... not that you would expect a propagandist like Coulter to point this out; and not that you would expect her willingly-duped readers to ask the question.
#7 FACT: Healthcare is a service, not a risk. An insurance-based market for healthcare makes sense for profits, but not for people. Once again capital is valued more highly than people. That is the true meaning of "capitalism." ("Socialism" reverses these values.) Any true reform would be disastrous for the insurance industry, as it should be. Making a profit by insuring "risk" related to something like a person's health is an abomination, and we should do away with such practices as other, more civilized countries have done. Obamacare does not do that, and so it is a failure on its face, but not for the reasons that froth-mouthed demagogues like Coulter insist.
So whats O'Barry pretending to be today? Legislator, judge, regulator, general, surgeon, statesman, scientist, border patrol agent, economist, psychiatrist?
We are sooo blessed ;-)
...blessed in a cursed way...
It's too strange to be fiction.
The real issue is yet to be realized by many, but it can easily been anticipated. We often wondered when this was passed how they would add 30 million (give or take) to the medical insurance system and still "reduce costs by $2,500" and allow you to "keep your plan" or "keep your doctor".
They changed the insurance pool mix to include all these uninsured folks and jacked up the rates/deductables to cover the additional costs and subsidies and new rules such as pre-existing conditions.
Just wait, if your company offers insurance now, you will get the same treatment next year at this time. Bam is simply trying to get through the next election with his declarations and promises to not enforce the law. If we do not take a stand now and demand significant changes, it just might be too late.
We have not yet begun to see the carnage.

The US is like a baby Thomson's gazelle flopping around on the ground with a cheetah around it's throat.
Eventually we will settle down and relax.

Fascism gone wild on steroids+crack.
Hey, no problem though I'm sure we can once again rely on the next round of elections to get us out of this central bankster controlled nightmare....sorry <sarc off>
I have a one point plan. Get rid of Obama.
ok, and replace him with another puppet...?
Boooooooooooooooring.
indeed, wild goose hunts are much more fun!
So close to the reality behind the true intentions of the kleptoligarchy that it is hilarious in a Kafka-esque way.
I see it's a slow Friday.
The $50 Lesson
I recently asked my friends little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President of the United States. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there. So I asked her, "if you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?" She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people." Her parents beamed.
"Wow...what a worthy goal," I told her. "But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds and sweep my driveway and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out and you can give him the $50 to use towards food and a new house."
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?" I said, "Welcome to Libertarianism."
Her parents still aren't speaking to me.
Great story MH. Lead by example.
Would MH WANT the "Homeless Guy" to be on his property? Potentially casing the joint with a view to a later visit (or maybe passing on intelligence to "friends" whose intentions were less than honourable?) Why is the "Homeless Guy" destitute in the fist place? Disability (physical and / or mental?), so maybe not the ideal candidate for a "casual gardener"?? With the forced closure of many State-run Institutions, many mentally disabled were in effect condemned to a life on the streets - and many of those former inmates will still be there - with their disability having progressed at least partially as a direct result of loss of any formal management programme.
There are many, many causes of destitution, and unwillingness to work is not the only one.
Totally agree Parrotile & have stated as much when RayGun cut the funding. Boatloads were dumped on the streets, thereby putting the entire burden on the state. What's even more sad is the revolving door through the alleged legal system. Have know several VN vets many now dead in this revolving door also. I do think there are many angles to the societal problems in this country, with no quick fix one size fits all. I've known homeless by choice. I also know people that gave up good jobs, joined the FSA and are now wards of the system that is literally killing them fianancially and chemically through prescribed pharma. Yet somehow they don't see it & wail at every chance for their circumstances. I also know of one that NEVER paid witholding by claiming 10 dependents & also got all the advantages of the FSA, plus SSDI, plus their pic in the paper for having joined X real estate brokerage.
I see both extremes. No easy fix.

What I like to know is why are health care stock prices still going up? What kind of a business model do they employ that allows them to dump 4 million of their customers and see their stock prices appreciate with not a single analyst questioning 'what's going on?"
The people are going to have to buy an even more profitable policy.

Are you kidding? The government just MANDATED that all Americans buy their product. How could their stock possibly NOT go up?
Obamacare offers nothing in the way of health care. Check the website and try and sign up for anything. It amounts to a tax for not having health insurance or else a giveaway for some worthless health insurance plan. I dropped Aetna because it was worthless so now I will just pay for the cheapest useless health insurance plan that is chaper than the penalty for no Obamacare.
Sure it does! Aren't you TIRED of making decisions for yourself?
Now Obama, et al, will help you decide what foods to eat, where you can work, what books are appropriate to read, whether or not you have children..this'll be great!!!
don't nigga rig mah healf assurance brah
Here's a website for ya: White Trash Repair.com
Afro-engineering knows no flesh color boundaries!
Fiction wins.
A one year extension is NOT if you like it you can keep it. The person who wants to keep their plan is still in the same exact place they were a week ago.
They will lose ther plan.
keep blaming the puppet. if you only knew how utterly stupid you sound...
you are correct, blame the dumb fuck that didn't read the label on Zero prior to pulling the lever.
Plan numbers 1 through 11 should begin with a resignation!
Yeah, that'll work.
TOTUS Just fucked 1/6th of the economy. The insurance companies aren't going to reprice risk for (1) year then have to reprice everything again because of the clusterfuck he's made of the ACA. TOTUS has his head up the White House unicorns ass.
I was listening to someone the other day, and they were talking about how many people/derelicts don't have a bank or checking accounts to pay their portions of the monthly premiums. They would have trouble collecting from them, and it would be a major hassle for them to remit monthly payments.
It's things like that that those dipshit bean counters in D.C. always overlook... Fucking Timmahh on Southpark looks like a genius compared to those worthless nimblerods...
S'all part of the plan, my friend. Just sit back & watch.
I'm enrolled in the socialized medical system in Bolivia. Does that qualify?
Of course. Anyone who votes for democrats gets a lifetime membership. Only problem is, they're going to kill you in 2014.
Is bitecoin.com taken?
Lemme go look
News Just Out
...George Clooney, Barbara Streisand and Jason Mraz have each pledged to pay for for all the California Aids Patients who have lost their Medical Coverage because of Obamacare.
As official supporters of Obama and Obamacare, they said they will donate all their Assets and go broke if necessary.
Thank heavens I haven't had to have my semicolon removed! :>D
Get it done right - and come to visit Australia - World leader in colorectal carcinoma, and plenty of (expensive) private Healthcare facilities to fleece you of your hard-earned!
(If there is a serious problem, you'll not be surprised to wake up in a NHS Hospital. The "Private Sector" neither wants nor needs expesive ICU capability - why bother when you can decant your problems onto the State system! The great thing is the State Hospital will then charge the Private institution for the added costs. The Private institution adds on their "fair share" to this bill, then passes it on to the Insurer! The best of the Privatised Health Swindle - we severely damage you (after all you NEED an ICU bed), then charge you extra to fix the problems we caused!)
