Our leaders are constantly selling the idea that they are using "strategy" in foreign relations . After making rather explicit promises of support to Saddam's opposition we left them to dangle in the breeze so once we invaded and expected popular support we couldn't figure out why they would not work with us. Time and again we have sought alliances and then walked away from them when things got tough. We removed Libya's terrorist designation and normalized relations with Ghaddafi only to bomb his country when he tried to stop al queda from invading and watched while he was murdered in the street. Regardless of how evil or not Iran's intentions might be, why would anyone negotiate with America when they know the moment our leaders have a change of heart or see some political expediency, they will be dead. Islam is supposed to embrace the concept of abrogation to advance their goals, but American politics puts them to shame. We have no principles and no honor. American leaders will fuck anyone and as we see that includes their own citizens...maybe especially their own citizens.

Yeah, buzzsaw99, I used to think it was difficult to imagine a President worse than Baby Bush, and then we got Obama, who turned out to be way worse. I shudder to think how much worse the next President after Obama will probably be ... Just how much worse can each President become, before there finally is no more Presidency?

On US ME lies :

About the upcoming rehashed talks in Geneva on Iran and the Kerry-Netanyahu stand-off :

One US Senate voice picked up by the good ole Economist :

At the libertarian end of the 2016 Republican field, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky was careful to praise Israel during a flag-waving speech to military cadets on November 12th, intended to soothe conservatives who think him flaky on national security. “One thing you can know for sure is, you will never see an Israeli burning the American flag,” Mr Paul enthused, bumper-stickerishly. He did not mention Iran or its nuclear ambitions.

Lied? Lied? Lied? Really?

But I thought everybody in the USA "lied".

Isn't lying the Expectation? It certainly appears to be for Congress; for NSA; for the President and White House, as well as the MSM.

As Hillary says, "what difference does it make" - So lying is the US National Paradigm? We all know that! And that is precisely why the USA uses military wars, ie, murder, genocide, torture, incarceration, etc., etc., on all and any Nations, as well as individuals, that dare to even consider the Truth. They even do these things to their own.

Surely the "leadership"(sic) of the USA are chosen for their abilities to lie and kill as well as the highest levels of criminal and intellectual insanity?

So one needs to consider if this sort of behaviour is what is called "freedom", then the USA is despised for its "freedom".

Language is the house of the truth of Being.

Martin Heidegger

Personally, you Americans can keep all your ph$cking lies, as I prefer to  know:

"And, what's needed is for you,

to learn all things:

both the unshaken heart of pervasive Truth,

and

the opinions of mortals,

in which there's nothing that can truthfully be trusted at all.

But even so, this too you will learn -

how beliefs based on appearance

ought to be believable

as they travel all through all there is."

Parmenides

"grammar" not language. Heidegger was a dipshit. Humans babble before they're even born. You want truth "Mr Big"...take a vacation..to Afghanistan. That will help "inform" your "knowledge base" of the world and perhaps "round out your thinking about things." don't worry...I'm sure you'll always be remembered and will have a "singular voice that that will rings through the ages" and all that shit. As that great Mexican dictator "what's his name" said to his biographer "tell them I said something"...which of course was duly repeated by said biographer when everyone asked him "what did he say?" after he perished. (note to self: choose unable to choose one's biographer choose one'e words well.)

Absolutely ... Elections really matter. One may think that Right and Left are forged out of the same mold (or paid for by the same bankers). But at least when we elect a Republican as president the media is all over him, investigating every little thing (as well they should). When a Democrat is elected the media busies itself covering up for him.

If WMD's was a conspiracy of deliberate lies, then it was a really big conspiracy involving most of the world's leaders as it was an opinion held by most of them. It is possible to be wrong because you have a bias in how you view information, but that does not mean you are a liar. If if it did then half the posters on ZH would be liars as well, because viewing the same data results in some pretty wildly divergent opinions. To be a liar, you have to know you are lying. You have to be an Obama. For Obama the only transparency he has brought us is through the judgement of his actions, for his words are opaque to most if not all meaning. I, like most have my own biases (which does not make me necessarily wrong) but I think it is safe to say that almost everyone sees this to be true.

In the documentary on Argentina the bankers did the exact same thing. They bribed the nations politicians (like Jamie Dimon bribing Wen recently) so completely that the citizens expected their politicians to lie to them. The only politicians they could vote for were bribed by the banks to sell their nation out.

Maybe China will stop them since the US can't seem to find a way to restore law.

In some European countries it's very rare to impossible to hold a cemetery plot into perpetuity.  The average is something like fifty years or until taxes/leases go unpaid, or no one visits, and the plot reverts to the state for eventual reuse.

I guess being from the US that just seems creepy.  It's like they want to bury you with an arm sticking out of the ground holding some $$$.

I have a cemetery a mile or so from here with graves from the 1900's.  Volunteers keep it cleaned up and long time local family plots are always kept up.  The land is 'leased' from the county in perpetuity but I guess that's until they go bankrupt and sell off the place.

Guess I'm gonna burn and get scattered, like to see them tax/invoice that...

It isn't the lies that are news, really. They all lie. It is the revelation of the nature of those lies that astonish me over and over again despite my expectation of it happening.

Not much more than a decade ago, Congress moved to impeach Bill Clinton for what, in my opinion, was a rather innocuous and completely expected lie. Today...such a short time later - the blink of an eye, really -  the government tracks our every move, listens to our every conversation, compiles a record of every purchase we make, ignores the rule of law, commits fraud and deceipt at every turn and has become eerily reminicent of some seriously dark and dangerous times in history and we get from our Congress AND the American people...crickets. Dead silence.

It's like watching a scary movie and knowing I'm going to jump out of my skin...expecting it, but it gets me every time. Surreal doesn't begin to describe what I'm feeling here.

Clinton was impeached for lying to a grand jury about a sexual assault case (something that none of us has a difficult time imagining). If you think that was "innocuous", what hope do we have of stopping a lying fucker like Obama? They put Scooter Libby in prison for supposedly misleading the AG in an investigation of leaks where they already knew who had done it. A banana republic is defined to me as a system of laws, not lacking in volume but in consistency in application and enforcement. Do you have any bananas today?

I had a realization today that is so simple that it s easy to overlook. Most Americans do not read.

This means they get all of their information form the TV and radio. The TV is owned by a few corps in bed with the federal government. Radio is mostly right of center but it is not informative.

This means we are likely the only group, and probably the largest group, who have some idea of how bad the economy really is...and a good ZH article gets less than 100,000 hits.

Now Youtube has a fair bit of doomer porn but I'm not seeing many numbers much bigger than ZH.

Lets just be generous and say that lots more than a few hundred people understand that the GNP is BS and we could be days away from collapse. Even by a factor of 10x there still is only a small core who have more than just an uneasy feeling that somethng ain't right.

When the dollar blows there will be a lot of confused angry folks...a lot more than I thought before I had my little realization.

Well said.

Apparently there are more people like are seen on Leno's "Jaywalking" than there are people like us.

Time and again there are videos of people being interviewed concerning just about any topic and the people have no clue. It seems there are a lot of them out there.

How many people understand what the massive QE's are having on their lives? How many understand the massive wealth transfer that is going on due to the existence of the Federal Reserve?

Ten times as many could tell us about the lives of the Kardashians.

Why do we keep watching politicians give speeches. Do we expect them to tell the truth?

I consider the speeches as a warning of what the next unlubed reaming gonna be.

I don't see what the big deal with Benghazi is. What's surprising about American diplomats being targeted by terrorists in Libya? You movie-addled Americans think the military can always come to the rescue at the last minute, but real life ain't Hollywood. Stop mindelssly repeating what Fox tells you and wake the fuck up.

Well they sure as hell can't if they get dragged off the plane....which is exactly what happened. They could have made it. But when you're trying to get your ambassador kidnapped to trade for the blind sheik...would you really want too?

Yes, I know it's not reported.....we couldn't have that now could we?

There were reportedly US forces close enough to help but they were told to stand down.

But, what the hell are we doing messing around over there?  Government is one big lie.

The "Big Deal" is that they put those people deliberately in a very dangerous situation with virtually NO protection and then explicitly denied them any assistance when attacked. They then deliberately lied about what had happened and stayed on message for weeks while the whole world knew better. And since, they have prohibited any real investigation, no testimony by those on the ground and a virtual blackout of any info coming forth. Further we now know that the whole operation was a front for illegally arming militants who represented themselves as revolutionaries for Syria, which we now know are murderous Muslim radicals, the same ones that initially attacked Ghaddafi, whom we facilitated his overthrow and murder. Other than that there is nothing to see here.

Guess we'll never know if we would get a "Hollywood ending' to Bengazi because the military got orders to STAND DOWN from a rescue attempt.

But, of course you knew that already, since you seem so well informed.

Hot tip: Even the mouth-breathers gave up on the 'Fox News' schtick a while back. Didn't get the memo?

Let me take a wild guess...you don't have many satisfying personal relationships either, because you don't relate to other people very well, lacking sympathy or empathy for others.

So if the government workers get murdered by terrorists and the WH refuses tosend help and falsely blames it on a video, then it doesn't mean much, eh. Maybe you could make friends with Helvetico.
