Santelli Slams The Jobs Manipulation Scandal: "American Media, You Can Do Better"
Along with Zero Hedge and Jack Welch, CNBC's Rick Santelli was among the most vocal "jobs truther" in the run-up to last year's election - and suffered the same snark from the mainstream media at such conspiracy theories as to suggest the most important number in the world could be (or would be) manipulated. One year on, we now know the truth and as Santelli rages "if we knew then, what we know now," the world could be a very different place, as "all outcomes could have changed." Santelli raged at the time, "things just didn't feel right," and he was right, perhaps, as he concludes in the brief clip below, the American media "must do better."

So, in the 64 years from 1947 to 2012, the biggest drop in unemployment at the end of the Summer was 3/10ths of one percent and that happened only three times: once in Sep '58; once in Sep '83, and once in Sep. '12.
But it really gets scary when you recognize that in both 1958 and in 1983, Third Quarter GDP growth was running near 9% and average GDP growth was strong, too. But in 2012, Third Quarter GDP growth was below 3%!!!
In other words BLS expects us to believe that there is zero correlation between unemployment and GDP growth.

They're not markets, they're price points driven by liquidity coming from what are now left to be only the largest pools of official and semi-official pools of money. They're not markets, they just a price points for the largest hedge funds of all, the central banks and Government treasuries.
I believe we live in a political economy. There are no free markets left. Every market is warped and tortured by government rules, government favors, government subsidies, labor rules and so on. What the Fed or any central banker in the world says is far more important to markets than the next iPhone or Walmart earnings. The data are massaged and faked so it is impossible to reliably make good decisions. On top of that there are no firm property rights meaning anything you own is subject to redistribution.

I will say this and I hope you take it in the right way:
Most people who think they are awakening are finding themselves deeply embedded inside yet another fictional narrative -- another dream.
It is like a set of Russian matryoshka dolls, one inside another. You peel away one layer only to find another very similar right under it. If it took you a long time and a lot of effort to accomplish that, then you can expect a similar investment in the next.
The best analogy I've run across so far is not waking up but going down the rabbit hole. If you are familiar with Alice's adventures in Wonderland, then you get the point. It's not a single journey, with a single destination ending in a single truth at the end of a single story. It is convoluted, labyrinthine, dynamic, self-referencing, and usually insane. You wake up to another nightmare, and you wake from that nightmare into another, and then yet another. Peeling back the layers of all the lies you learned as a child, all the lies you were exposed to as an adult, all the lies of historical analysis, lies that serve the government and media, all the lies of practical convenience, and of course your own complicated and maybe inadvertent lies upon which you depend every single day so you can endure living in a world built from and operating largely upon an infinite series of lies.
It takes nearly infinite patience and courage to unwind the entire snarl. It doesn't hurt to be a Master of Zen.

It's the bluepill/redpill argument, isn't it? The dream, though it is false, at least gives comfort. In fact that is what it is all about; comfort. The waking world seems violent and ugly in comparison if primarily because you realize not only that you have been lied to from childhood on, but because you sense that you have so much further to go digging through layer upon layer of mental filth before you can finally relax. In the end maybe cleansed of that inner toxin injected into your infant brain the very first time you were sat down in front of a TV with a bowl of cheese puffs admonished to just watch this and be quiet.
And to what end all this struggle? Something called the truth. The real world is real of course and we are evolved to it, it is our natural habitat, but in the final analysis it is just another world. You arrive at the real world like a warrior wise and filled with inner grace, but you still have to wake up every day and go to work. Still have to fight for your sanity, still must resist the lies that before you simply accepted in blissful ignorance never knowing any other way but the warming, familiar, confining, smothering weight of all that comfort.
For the truth, you walk alone. And the closer one gets to the absolute truth, the real world far divorced from the human world, the more you walk alone. Except for being with the animals, who I will say for all their supposed simplicity and crudeness make admirable company at the end of the struggle.

I'm always amazed at how I can listen to someone who has detailed knowledge about how corrupt a certain segment of government is, yet in the very next breath state how government has to fix it. They're absolutely incapable of believing that everything else is just as bad as the corruption they see.

It's sort of like reading an article in the newspaper on a subject in which you have some expertise, and you can see how badly they've butchered the facts and missed the point.
