Santelli Slams The Jobs Manipulation Scandal: "American Media, You Can Do Better"

Tyler Durden's picture

Along with Zero Hedge and Jack Welch, CNBC's Rick Santelli was among the most vocal "jobs truther" in the run-up to last year's election - and suffered the same snark from the mainstream media at such conspiracy theories as to suggest the most important number in the world could be (or would be) manipulated. One year on, we now know the truth and as Santelli rages "if we knew then, what we know now," the world could be a very different place, as "all outcomes could have changed." Santelli raged at the time, "things just didn't feel right," and he was right, perhaps, as he concludes in the brief clip below, the American media "must do better."

OT -- fan falls at football game

http://www.wgrz.com/news/article/232715/116/Bills-Fan-Falls-from-Upper-D...

we need a homeland entertainment security initiative

monitors stationed on every row of athletic events

alcohol detection at every seat

seat belts in every seat

if a fan wishes to rise (or cheer), the fan raises their hand to signal the monitor, who can approve the fan's request to stand, cheer, or exit the row for a stated purpose

it is envisioned that the entertainment security initiative will improve the safety of fans at all athletic events, going forward

It's time to quit lying to ourselves and admit we have a mentally ill president.

He suffers from delusions of grandeur - believing that all he has to do is wave his hand and it is now reality. King Canute is his role model.

This is the result of his pathological lying - he lies about anything and everything - telling the world whatever he wants it to believe regardless of the reality surrounding his pronouncements. He is disconnected from reality.

He is kept afloat by a tight circle of enablers who cover for him and spin his lies.

I am making this statement because it is time to seriously consider that Barack Obama is not mentally healthy. I am saying this because he is continuing to stretch farther and farther away from reality in his actions, and believes that whatever he says - is the made-over reality he has created in his mind.

His latest is stating that 100-million people have signed for ObamaCare. That's bad - but what makes it really significant is that NO ONE in the WH corrects him. The mad king's wrath has them all terrified to break the bad news to him.

That is mental disconnect. In fact, this is insane.

Don't apologize for thinking him ill; he is ill.

And this latest exercise in waving his hand with ObamaCare, and thinking that reality magically changes when he does, shows Barack Obama is disconnected from reality, and must be removed from office before his mental illness drives him to even more desperate, irrational thinking.

I think he is just a basic sociopath is ideologue mixed with narcissism. He knows what he is doing in the sense of breaking America and remodeling it into a fully redistributionist state. It is why he really doesn't care if theACA works or not. It is LAN inconvience, at worst. The important thing is that he and his loyal minions took over 1/6th of the economy and now they own it.

I do not think he fancies himself a king or comrade as much as plainly superior and all opposition comes from inferiors. He should not have to deal with that

The Left has a powerful attraction in particular to these sorts. Look at history. In Obama's case his whole fake life has been comp'ed to him and he has never had to actually accomplish anything more than a goog speech wardrobe. He has no empathy for anyone else.

We are paying the price for electing this arrogant empty leftist suit.

Snopes needs to snope themselves.  They are truly propagandest of the highest order (come to us for the truth).  While the tests speak for themselves, snopes deems it necessary to explain away the logical conclusions to be derived, thereof.  Snopes shoud have vetted the tests and said whether or not these were true examples of the tests in question.  I guess what snopes is trying to convey is... "hey, back in 1896 if you asked all the 8th graders how big Kim Kardashian's butt was they'd all fail too".

Indeed, data does not matter. At all.

If it did, Congress, the Media and every Econ 101 student in the country would have challenged the October 2012 pre-election jobs data.

Check this out from @stuysquare on Twitter:

"From 1947 until October, 2012, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Sep to Aug dropped 3/10th of 1% only three times. One was just before the 2012 election."

So, in the 64 years from 1947 to 2012, the biggest drop in unemployment at the end of the Summer was 3/10ths of one percent and that happened only three times: once in Sep '58; once in Sep '83, and once in Sep. '12.

But it really gets scary when you recognize that in both 1958 and in 1983, Third Quarter GDP growth was running near 9% and average GDP growth was strong, too.  But in 2012, Third Quarter GDP growth was below 3%!!!

In other words BLS expects us to believe that there is zero correlation between unemployment and GDP growth.

This chart twittered by @stuysquare deserves a very wide reading...especially by Congress.

You will remove them from Public Schooling today. You may have to sacrifice some income by educating them at home. You may not be able to afford the lifestyle to which you have become accustomed. But you will get them out of those Indoctrination Prisons and teach them that which is important.

But most Americans do not love their children. They will CLAIM that they do, but, actually do not.

If they did then they would be aghast at the debt which they are leaving to them as an inheritance. Saddling your children with the bondage of debt, enslavement, is not love but an utter HATRED.

It is evidential that most Americans do not love their children. Just look at the numbers. They do not lie.

I believe we live in a political economy. There are no free markets left. Every market is warped and tortured by government rules, government favors, government subsidies, labor rules and so on. What the Fed or any central banker in the world says is far more important to markets than the next iPhone or Walmart earnings. The data are massaged and faked so it is impossible to reliably make good decisions. On top of that there are no firm property rights meaning anything you own is subject to redistribution.

Welcome to your centrally planned life.

I will say this and I hope you take it in the right way:

Most people who think they are awakening are finding themselves deeply embedded inside yet another fictional narrative -- another dream.

It is like a set of Russian matryoshka dolls, one inside another. You peel away one layer only to find another very similar right under it. If it took you a long time and a lot of effort to accomplish that, then you can expect a similar investment in the next.

The best analogy I've run across so far is not waking up but going down the rabbit hole. If you are familiar with Alice's adventures in Wonderland, then you get the point. It's not a single journey, with a single destination ending in a single truth at the end of a single story. It is convoluted, labyrinthine, dynamic, self-referencing, and usually insane. You wake up to another nightmare, and you wake from that nightmare into another, and then yet another. Peeling back the layers of all the lies you learned as a child, all the lies you were exposed to as an adult, all the lies of historical analysis, lies that serve the government and media, all the lies of practical convenience, and of course your own complicated and maybe inadvertent lies upon which you depend every single day so you can endure living in a world built from and operating largely upon an infinite series of lies.

It takes nearly infinite patience and courage to unwind the entire snarl. It doesn't hurt to be a Master of Zen.

Many who fail, lose their minds.

In the end I'm not even certain it was worth it.

"In the end I'm not even certain it was worth it."

I agree with all that you have said my friend.....except for your last statement. The "end" that we arrive at when we reach the bottom of the rabbit hole is inner peace. It all begins (and ends) within.

<I have not come close to this ideal. Then again I'm learning that it's the journey and not the destination that's truly important.>

Tue, 11/19/2013 - 16:05 | Link to Comment cougar_w
cougar_w's picture

It's the bluepill/redpill argument, isn't it? The dream, though it is false, at least gives comfort. In fact that is what it is all about; comfort. The waking world seems violent and ugly in comparison if primarily because you realize not only that you have been lied to from childhood on, but because you sense that you have so much further to go digging through layer upon layer of mental filth before you can finally relax. In the end maybe cleansed of that inner toxin injected into your infant brain the very first time you were sat down in front of a TV with a bowl of cheese puffs admonished to just watch this and be quiet.

And to what end all this struggle? Something called the truth. The real world is real of course and we are evolved to it, it is our natural habitat, but in the final analysis it is just another world. You arrive at the real world like a warrior wise and filled with inner grace, but you still have to wake up every day and go to work. Still have to fight for your sanity, still must resist the lies that before you simply accepted in blissful ignorance never knowing any other way but the warming, familiar, confining, smothering weight of all that comfort.

For the truth, you walk alone. And the closer one gets to the absolute truth, the real world far divorced from the human world, the more you walk alone. Except for being with the animals, who I will say for all their supposed simplicity and crudeness make admirable company at the end of the struggle.

There is so much bullshit right now you can't even see it as bullshit anymore. The bullshit is a towering mountain before you, a vast sea, an endless horizon that so overpowers the human intellect that we see it as mountain, sea and horizon and not as bullshit. You can think "oh I got over that mountain" but you were climbing bullshit and are covered in bullshit as a result. You cross that seeming endless sea, but that too was bullshit and you have landed on Bullshit Island thinking you got somewhere.

Well. No. You didn't. But nice try there.

Nothing is real. This is not real. I am not real. We are not awake. We are fighting, but we are not awake.

He would have been very helpful to gut the remaining assets of the USA and allow the remaining shell to collapse in a heap.

But Obama was better qualified to destroy America. That is why he was installed. Your vote, or mine, does not count.

Both Parties are Socialist, The Corporatists (sorry Radical Marijuna but Corporatism, Fascism IS SOCIALISM. The NAZI were the National SOCIALIST Party.) are Hell Bent on the destruction of America.

They have succeeded.

The Red Team/Blue Team paradigm just serves to give the Masses an illusion to divert attention away from the reality. Fundamentally there is no difference.

There is NO HOPE. There is NO POLITICAL SOLUTION.

What we pen on Zerohedge is just a REQUIEM to the Death of the American Republic. It was a nice experiment that failed. Men are doomed to enslavement and abuse.

Personally I resent that. But that does not change the reality, does it?

inasmuch as I agree with this sentiment, one cannot cherry pick by political preference or any other when we would like our media to begin doing its job.

we've been manipulated and lied to in varying degrees ever since the media existed.  anyone remember Hearst? anyone remember the maine?

so now it's in our face, and we can't even count on 60 minutes to upset anyone, and in hindsight nixon seems like a boy scout.

it's a slippery slope, my friend, when a society's morals crumble.  and we are all to blame, not just the media.

It was a CIA hit. They were pissed at Kennedy for the Bay of Pigs. The US Treasury wanted him out of the way as he issued a competing currency. The Secret Service works for the US Treasury. The Mafia was also pissed as the Havana Casino revenues were quashed by Fidel Castro.

Howard Hunt, one of the Watergate Burglars admitted to being one of the shooters. Bush claims that he does not remember where he was at on that fateful day. It is funny because anyone who was cognitive remember vivdly what they were doing when they had heard the news.

Well there are photos of Bush in Dallas. Diectly after the murder he flew to Washington DC. He march into J Edgar Hoover's FBI Office. That shook up the FBI Director so much that he left a memorandum to the fact of that meeting on the following day.

The MIC wanted an expansion into Vietnam and Kennedy was going to withdraw. They made the deal with LBJ.

But does it really matter at this point?  No. There is not one damned thing that we can do about it.

I have hope that there will be justice served out on the Other Side....as long as justice is not served out to me? I will be begging for mercy.
