Lol, peak madness.

Bitcoin may be another innovative invention of the free market, but the truth is that the real innovation is happening in government. Read today's article at the Accredited Times to see how the lean government revolution is transforming the planet and creating a level of prosperity that our ancestors could never have dreamed of:
DISRUPTIVE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMSOh, I absolutely agree with that. But sadly, those would be new and innovative ways of wasteful and irresponsicle ways of accounting, and defrauding public sector funds.
Innovation takes time. Will government make mistakes when trying out new solutions? Sure. But that's all part of the innovative process. As for you casual dismissal of our government'swildly successful innovations as 'fraud', I think you need to look at the evidence which shows the unbelievably positive changes our government making to peoples' lives across this country.
DISRUPTIVE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMSPositive changes? You mean, such as the - totally sustainable - continuous increase in public sector debts for our children to pay off, at the benefit of a few insiders?
Running a country is a capital intensive business. In order to invest in this our future and the middle class, our government has to make large investments. Hopefully, these investments will pay off and as a result our children will be far more prosperous as a result. Tell me someinth - if we make investments that vastly improve the lives of future generations, are we not entitled to ask that they pay their fair share and give something back to the community?
http://accredited-times.com/2013/11/22/disruptive-government-programs/
Ah good old Gordon Brown rhetoric. He could be piling Pound bills on a fire, and still talk about "public sector investments" with a straight face. Well, as straight as he could muster, anyway.
In reality, however, and assuming the money isn't "invested" in media classes for the elderly, or hair extension application classes for the growing chavette - "investment" is an assumptious declaration that money can be better spent through a bureaucratic state, which has to extort the money through taxation, than the overtaxed middle class ever could.
This is a joke right?
I would be the first person to use his Bitcoins for such a trip.
MDB - in the multitude of your words, you actually stated an (unintentional) truth.
You are right: any "positive changes our government is making" is "unbelievable".
MDB, I completely agree with you, governments are not needed in the economy, and just make things worse.
Governments are by far the largest wealth-destroyers on Earth. Their favourite means of destroying wealth is war.
Bitcoin can help put an end to this as it will permanently remove government from the wealth-creation/destruction cycle.
It may destroy the wealth of some, but it increases the wealth of others.
Otherwise it wouldn't be happening...
MDB says "Hopefully, these investments will pay off"
MDB living on Hope..LOL...."hope your not holding your breath wait'n for change"....lol...lol....lol
Stay Hopeful My Winkie Friend....don't forget your helmut, and don't lick the windows.
Ccanuck
I would challenge anyone to give me a single reason why Bitcoin will not continue to generate returns in the thousands of percentile? And cite what fundamentals will change to stop it from continuing to generate such returns?
No, what you really need is a punch to the fucking head.
Please cite what is going to stop Bitcoin from its meteoric rise against the USD?
Your hopes? Your "laws"? Your "congress"? Is the NSA going to shutdown every ISP on Earth?
Please give me one valid reason.
....and btw travelling around the world asking people to exchange their Bitcoin for your fanatasy wild west digression to the 19th century does not in any way constitute "reason" LOL.....
please stop
Hey Bitstar...What can stop bitcoin's rise
Reality....just a gueess....wait...whats gonna stop it?....um....um...ya Ill go with REALITY!
Its can be stopped by the collective Gov anytime...when they start throwing people in jail for accepting it as payment, you know start the "War on Terrerist Currency"....but not until they are done turning out the muppets...make'n out large$$$$$.
Go ahead buy your uncrashable bitcoins.... go see Branson, he'll fly ya up, and you can both buy the top.
..To Tha MoooooooooN!!!(And Beyond)
like when hitler found a use for all those shower heads he ordered that didnt work
Allan Colmes...is that you?
Sir then why is Detroit in bankruptcy and many inner city areas have double digit unemployment? Why are there record high numbers on government assistance? And why is the fed printing 30% of what the government spends creating monstrous deficits. You cant see an agenda to devalue USD and why is this also happening in most other countries as well?
MDB you are obviously giving yourself up-arrows. Stop that. You'll go blind.
Where you been, boy?
I hope your catalogging all the responses you get from your insightful and truly poignant comments. They would make a good study into the current human psyche.
So the total value of all Bitcoins in circulation is 1/10 of the QE from the Fed every month?
http://realtimebitcoin.info/
They've got a long way to go and the short time to get there.
There was a similar period preceeding the French Revolution.
A deflating currency? In this day and age? Madness! BTC needs to wake up and get with the devaluation program.
peak madness.
Don't worry, you haven't missed the opportunity yet. Get in and start using the stuff.
BJF did an excellent video the other night on thebitcoinchannel.com debunking the idea that Bitcoin was being used to launder large amounts of funds. It looks like Bitcoin is still an unknown variable to tax dodgers, organized crime, big money, most hedge funds, etc.
Where it could go once those players do become involved is anyone's guess but it would need to go much, much higher....
Today is the first day where Bitcoin transactional volume surpassed PayPal's

:) Branson exchanging a few minutes in space for a fortune in BTC.
Branson making an edgy statement to gather free publicity? *Unpossible*
Allegedly that attention-seeking twat had retired to his island to contemplate his navel for two decades.
Nothing to do with tax avoidance, eh Dickie boy?
Bitcoin is a great idea without talking to operations managment first.
Next: Baumgartner goes Bitcoin. Wanna jump ?
I present you running on bing vs fonestar.
everyone else take 5 and wait for the next article.
Even in space, you can hear fonestar scream....
Especially when he can't find a wi-fi connection....
you can hear fonestar scream....
The one guy who has gone far out of his way to educate you, and you ridicule him.
We judge ourselves.
Funny, they said the same thing about Hitler.....
Did they? I thought they called him an asshole.
Maybe its just me.
Cast not thy bitcoin before swine.
I agree...
I find this site most interesting when the views are challenged with tact and civility:
Occident Mortal - Single-payer Health Care
Flakmeister - Global Warming
Fonestar - BTC
LTER - Philosophical positions attributed to Ayn Rand.
Hedgeless Horseman - Self-sufficiency
If I've left anyone else out, please forgive me.
I bet the aforementioned have more down votes than all other posters combined.
You should add VD as resident douche
It is no big stretch to say that by and large the most civil discussions take place in the Energy related threads...
But it was not always like that...
Those that don't grasp Bitcoin were the same kind of folks that couldn't grasp the web in its infancy. And here I am 20 years later listening to people bitch about technology on the web.
... just the other day, I had an Amiga vs PC discussion with an old Amiga old timer. It just suddenly dawned upon me that, 20 years on, I still have the *same* discussions.
I gave up using computers running windows a decade ago. Last month I had to do a job in an office using the latest windows os. Damn if I didn't run into the same problems that were present a decade ago...

TPTB don't like it. Transactions without oversight? Without THEIR $? I applaud the idea and perhaps it might succeed. Bitcoins overall success and it's success against TPTB is dependant on the same source. People.
Bitcoin will easily trounce the really bad paradigms we've had to put up with for our entire lives. It will take a few years but it'll be worth it.
There are risks, All Out, but they are worth taking.
Bitcoin is the Fed killer, and the BTC haters are defending the Fed.
2014 is going to be a sad year for anyone that reckons in USD.
You mean that technological marvel that destroyed millions of jobs and made a select group of people billions of dollars being on the inside of trades selling shares of worthless corporations that had no business plans, that internet?
A very good tool warped into a mechanism to value a website at $100 billion that really doesn't sell anything but people's personal information to the highest bidder.
I was in college at Carnegie Mellon during the birth of the modern WWW. Many of the people in my classes helped develop the internet over the past twenty years. I've worked on many communications products and interfaces during that time. I've seen my work to make a better tool twisted into a scheme to scam money.
The internet created an entire generation that can't speak to people face to face, completely lacking social skills. Texting a conversation while sitting right next to each other. L OMG DYSH IWL WTF, ROFL. Brilliant. Young Japanese boys can't even look people in the face, they require a cell phone to speak to a person.
At this point I'd almost prefer the internet to be shut down. In the grand scheme of things it actually hasn't done society any good. It delocalizes our society even further and hands an even greater tool of control to our governments. Amazon has completely destroyed our system of commerce, more than Walmart, and has done so without turning a profit with no intention of ever turning a profit.
I don't buy anything online. I even still go to my local family owned video store. Sure Netflix may be more convenient, but at least when I buy something or rent a movie I give a person the chance to have a job selling it to me.
> At this point I'd almost prefer the internet to be shut down.
Oddly, the Bernank and others share your opinion. You might want to take a look at what side you're one.
Some people wanted the Civil War because they thought they could make money off it. Some people had enough with an overbearing government telling them what to do.
Bernanke and the like want the ability to shut down the internet if they lose the ability to control people with it. I would like to shut down the internet because of their ability to use it to control.
There is a big difference there.
I can make a living without the internet. Can you?
If our interconnected society fails, I can survive. I know how to build things, hunt, fish, amd find sources of clean water. Thanks to my grandfather I know how to build a generator and at the least repair old generators. The skills of the old society before mass automation will always be more valuable than a virtual currency.
I taught myself how to build analog electronics using tubes so that I can fashion radios or amps or whatever I may need. I know how to wrap my own coils and built my own coil winder. All that sort of knowledge is extremely valuable. The tubes sound better and will survive the EMP's. Well that's what they say anyways. I have no pratical experience with that. I guess I will build an EMP gun next. Yeah!!!
The internet has become a double edged sword. It has become a powerful tool of our owners to dumb down and control the sheople, particularly the lambs. And for a minority, it has become a powerful tool to awaken to the NWO global tyranny and help to awaken others. There is no way I could have awakened to the truth of what is going down on this planet without the internet. Whether my awakening will, along with hundreds of millions of others around the planet, be a wooden shoe in the machinery of David Rockefeller and the Rothschild clan, I have no idea. In my opinion, the fate of the electric death meter program currently taking place around the globe, including countries like Mexico where I live, is a bellweather. If they can be stopped, then there is hope.
Wish I could give you more than one up arrow, adr. I would add that the Internet is also having an adverse effect on manners and common courtesy. I see this all the time - two people in a restaurant oftentimes clearly on a date where one or both people are on their phone bascially telling the other person "You are less important to me than my tiny screen".
I don't believe that at all. When I find a (rare) intelligent person online I switch to fullscreeen mode.
L OMG DYSH IWL WTF, ROFL
Please translate. I don't know New Speak.
Putting my winter tires on yesterday and the garage man says whoooooa there, those are too bald to use again. You have to get new ones. They cost $744 not including fitting from him. Yeah right I said.
10 mins later I had ordered better ones on the internet for $404.00 delivered. They arrived 48hrs hours later (from Germany to Switzerland).
Get with it gramps you are getting ripped off.
"Sure Netflix may be more convenient, but at least when I buy something or rent a movie I give a person the chance to have a job selling it to me."
While I understand your dissatisfaction with some of the current consequences of the Net, surely you're aware that you're throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Growing pains my friend.
The metaphorical "Amazon" increases efficiencies in several aspects of the model (at the expense of others that are not fit enough to survive). I'll argue for the net good. These things act to commoditize aspects of the chain. Decades ago I worked on projects involving what was then intellectual property. I left before the monopoly disappeared but I watched events unfold. Other players emerged and forced them to compete to create and deliver the same thing at lower cost. Their team lost, but Joe Consumer now benefits as a whole.
I doubt that you have empathy for the ice man, the coal man, or the whaler. And to borrow from Friedman with regard to your jobs program, I doubt that when you wanted to dig a pool in your backyard you hired 100 people equipped with spoons.
Remember to throw your sabots into the machinery before you go home from work today.
I understand but do not agree.
maybe no one wants to look at you?
Now these idiots here want us to shut down the web because they don't understand it or it may be hindering youth's social skills? Hahahaha.... TPTB please take note... the next president should be a folksy Republicrat and a luddite!
Go to space with Commander Bubbles, get good space weed! ? Trailer Park Boys - Commander Bubbles - YouTube
ok it started when everone complain about fiat monetary sistem...
It was 50 years ago today,
Lee Harvery blew the man away...
Conspiarices in and out of style,
Its guarenteed to make you wild...
So let me then refute for you,
The crap you have thought for all these years...
Lee Harvey's lonely hearts gun club....
Lee Harvey did not blow anybody away, he was a Patsy.
Long BTC!
and those that did were paid in a gold backed currency
Oh, we got a live one....
I should create a version of Clue with all the relevant characters...
For example: Was it the CIA from the grassy knoll with a bazooka?
LHO was an innocent man and it pisses me off when they frame it as a single shooting. They took out a lot more than one man during that coup.
It has been said that the Kennedy Assasination is a perfect Rohrschach test...
People see what they want to see...
Sell all your bitcoins to Richard Branson for cash outright.
Save the trouble building spaceship and flying into space.
My satoshi are my cash.
Yes blow some more air in this bubble so I can dump these digits and buy some miners :D
Well, if everything in the world becomes a scam, then I guess nothing is a scam anymore.
I think that is the meaning of life now. To live to see life itself turn into a scam.
you are too close to the truth and this makes you a dangerous person.
btw, i noticed that my starbucks grande moca is 4.95 today.
what were you saying about a scam?

Paying for space flight with bitcoin while robots trade stocks. Made this comment on my phone which has no wires so people anywhere in the world can read it instantly. Dafuq.
Really sounds like progress right?
Programs making money out of thin air for people that don't make anything.
What do we even need people for anymore?
They don't. Thus the ideal world population of 500 million on the Georgia Guidestones. GMO foods inducing cancer (and sterility in subsequent generations), corporate farms, Fukushima particle radiation, "smart" death meter microwave radiation, killer vaccines, chemtrails, HAARP, UN Agenda 21, depleted uranium, austerity, bullshit climate change with carbon based life form taxes, huge secret underground cities for the elites and their top minions, the Norwegian seed vault ......... the current (not-so-) soft kill program. With cybernetics the owners no longer need the labor force. So bend over and prepare to be culled.
Dear Lemmings:
Give me your bitcoins and I will give you some stuff.
Then I can take these bitcoins and buy up a pile of USD - the real currency.
Do this quickly, because when bitcoin crashes, the USD exchange for my benefit won't be worth the effort of talking to you.
Love, Richard (I need MOAR BILLIONS) Branson
I was thinking the other day about how our owners control the price of precious metals so their fiat isn't threatened as they inflate it like a party balloon - I imagine it as a weiner dog balloon. Quite simple. They create a system of futures which work on a fractional reserve system of maybe 50 to one against physical metals, run a mind control psy-ops that programs the sheeple into equating the value of physical metal with these future "markets," and then naked short the shit out of them whenever they begin to reflect the reality of PM's versus fiat. I then started to think, how would our owners, working through the BIS or Fed, control Bitcoin in a similar way. And the following occurred to me, and I would like critical comment feedback. I am too lazy to try to look it up, but I read that the total value of all Bitcoins in existence at USD700 per coin is a couple of billion dollars, or maybe a day or two of Bernanke POMO. So what would prevent the Fed from clandestinely buying up all the Bitcoins in existence? Then they can delegate a bank of the quantum computers in Bluffdale Utah to create all the allowable new coins so that they do not escape into the wild. The owners would have total control like they do the other markets. They could trade them through the exchanges at $5 or $5000 through different front operations of the octopus. If they regard Bitcoins as such a danger to their world domination, why haven't they done this already?
Yeah, Branson is an idiot for just taking digits for his business.
He probably loaded up last week, and he's looking to generate publicity to pay for his rocket shit.
How can anyone trust bitcoin? It has got to be a scam. You can't make this stuff up.
You are better off panning for gold, any gold bits would be much more profitable after finding them and are in your possession, plus, you'll get a workout by working. Where the rivers are winding, big nuggets they're finding... North to Alaska.
It is better to have a warehouse full of frns than to have a trillion terabytes of 1's and 0's containing bitcoins.
After you have your gold, you then can take the newly mined gold for safe keeping to the warehouse and remove the paper frns for spending.
Keep the gold, spend the paper.
Ahhh....what do you think a lot of us are doing with our Bitcoin day trades?
Silly rabbit....
The Old Maid trade without the need for stock symbols. Three-card monte without the cards to get in the Way of the Belief.
Bitcoin believers seriously need to wake up. You've all been fooled.
Bernanke (Mr Fiat himself) said bitcoin has potential.
The MSM financial channels are promoting/pumping bitcoin every chance they get.
The signs are all there....
Bitcoin was created by TPTB to get as many of you into a 100% traceable/controllable digital fiat currency as possible. Fiat paper has anonymity, digital fiat does not.
TPTB do not want you to believe in/own/obtain real wealth and real money... it's all a massive diversion/distraction.
WAKE THE FUCK UP!
Stayed away from BTC conversations because even though I have a few rolling around on my hd somewhere, I don't trust it to make it a major part of my portfolio (yes, I must be stoooopid). As I've repeated ad infinitum, I like the concept, not the execution. I've no desire to help make the major hoarders of the currency, the self-appointed founders and speculative investors of BTC, wealthy beyond avarice. We don't even know who they are, yet I've seen them manipulate the blockchain code at least 3 times in the past year alone. All for our benefit, of course.
There's a lot of interest from developing countries desperate for an alternative to the depreciating reserve currency, and the recent movements in China have made it soar. Well done to all who saw that coming, but bear in mind the exchange shut downs, government seizures, and fraud cases that have pock marked the news in this year alone. No doubt there's more to come.
Passion is good. Blind passion isn't. And I see that in the dialogue of Bitcoin proponents, the stink of desperation, the get-rich-quick anger of sales patter, all tell me that this is not for me as a nest egg. I hope crypto currencies will one day be mature and stable enough to be ubiquitous without interference from governments or multinationals, but in the meantime, I'll keep my PMs and sleep soundly at night.
another do nothing critic helplessly hoping the world becomes their version of utopia without having to put any effort forward
you keep your PMs and stay in your coma
I have the same problem with US dollars?
Currency is just for goverment to rip us off it seems.
Bit coin could get stable?
Peace...
cheapair.com now also accpeting bitcoin
There seems to be a cultural and psychological phenom created the last twenty years; the creation of marketing universes. By this I mean, there is an apple universe where like minded people buy, sell, and interact socially. I can certainly see a 'bitcoin' universe where like minded people buy, sell, and inteact socially. You won't need to be a member to access it but there will be a core - chohesive group - internationally so...
I don't need to use apple products to survive and I won't need bitcoin to survive either. I don't need to order online to survive. But when I do buy online it is usually within the same universe of stores. I only go to a small number of blogs (my universe) and only a few news sites (my news universe). Maybe one day I will belong to the electronic bitcoin universe... but then again, maybe not.

MDB
who the hell do you think you are to tell people who haven't even been born yet to pay their "fair share". you are the WORST kind of person in the world. may your armpits be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels you POS
Fuck you, Sir Branson. You self-important narcissist.
Ahh BitCoin...
So lets imagine I have One bitcoin. Someone is selling products in dollars, but is willing to accept X bitcoin's at the exchange rate value. I know that the value of BitCoin is going up and if I wait a week, I can get the product for less. i.e. I could pay 1bc now, or wait a week and pay 0.5bc. Of course this could go on indefinatly, to the point where the value of bitcoins continues to rise because everyone is too scared they'll miss out by spending them "now".
I've been waiting for BitCoin to hit 1000 to officially retire but I better write my personal statement admissions letter to UCLA or give up on life and content myself with going to ZH University.
Sweet. Branson rocks!
The irony... a trip to infinite nothingness in exchange for infinite nothingness.
That's Life.
Bitcoin is already guilty of being opaque. They let you play only if they can watch.
