Berlus-Gone-i

Tyler Durden's picture

As many expected (due to his tax fraud conviction):

  • *ITALY SENATE REJECTS MOTIONS TO ALLOW BERLUSCONI TO KEEP SEAT
  • *FORMER ITALIAN PREMIER BERLUSCONI OUSTED FROM SENATE

Of course, Sylvio is not happy:

  • *BERLUSCONI SAYS HIS OUSTING WON'T LEAD HIM TO RETIRE TO CONVENT
  • *BERLUSCONI SAYS TODAY IS 'BITTER DAY' FOR DEMOCRACY

Indeed!

Perhaps our favorite...

  • *BERLUSCONI SAYS HE WAS ACQUITTED IN 57 TRIALS

Which reminds us of the old story that ends... "... and I shag one sheep..."

Why Kenya you ask?

Not much reason for him to keep holding on to any dirt he's got on his opponents.

Nearly all the guys he had dirt on are either retired or in jail. Last major scandal was the gay-priest thing, but the Vatican is in the last bits of cleaning that up and/or disclosing it.

If I was Silvio, my greatest fear is now being pushed to roll over on my Scilian contacts. Specifically the grey zone around how he managed to acquire his media holdings in the 1980's. , I could see him being rubbed out in jail for who and when he knew. The tax deals are just tag charges similar to how the FBI tried to drag Capone in.

Maybe Valad will give his old swinger buddy asylum in Russia. That would be cool, in fact it would make for a pretty nifty reality TV show. Think of it as keeping up with the Kardashians and the FSU.

Actually good part of that money came from his building empire - but where he got the money to build THAT, that is the question, having previously only worked as a singer in small bars and on cruise ships.

Once in the media business, his Mafia connections were evident and out in the open - for many decades the main sponsor of his main channel, Canale 5, with regular live "suggestions from our sponsor" during the main shows was Eminflex, owned by the brother of Toto Riina, the Capo di tutti i Capi back then (80s and 90s).

In other words, he was/is a cover for the Mafia, and all the time the struggle over the turf "Big Italy" was between them and the international oligarchy who just *hated* not having their greedy hands in the pot of what was for a long time the nation with the 6th or 7th biggest GDP globally.

Once you understand that, you will also understand his lifestyle as well as his friendship with Putin.

The Italian system has corruption that matches the bank corruption in the U.S. And Berlusconi, a corrupt politician, did offer an important balance against rival corrupters. At least he kept the corruption on the front pages.

Let's put it this way, if the banks favored Berlusconi, he wouldn't be gone.

well said, yet I disagree in some details: Italy is uniformly corrupt, to a certain degree. Corruption in the US seems more a top-sided affair, similar to the UK, yet not in degree. After all, is lobbying and secret political campaign money not a form of institutional corruption? Imho yes

As such, B was never corrupt. Corrupting, yes. It's a matter of who pays whom... and for what

was it really necessary to kick him out? imho not. his point on how many times he was aquitted is not lost on many Italians

Sic transit gloria mundi

Nothing the West has experienced over 2,000 years in terms of corruption and fraud can match the 5,000 years of fraud in China. The Chinese also didn't go through a formal "cleansing" of corruption with a religion which made fraud legal as long as it was in the name of you know who. Not to my degree of understanding anyway. The Chinese opened the doors to the West and the West stepped right into what they thought was the honeypot but it will turn out to be a trap. Nothing the Chinese are putting forward in terms of accounting or balance sheets can be trusted. There is no standard as opposed to the double standard the Church, DC and Wall Street enjoy.

The fact that the Chinese pumped 15 trillion into their system should be the dead giveaway. The fact that Chinese are buying real estate all across the world with money from unqualified origins another. Chinese buying luxury cars and luxury items faster than those can be produced can only mean one thing. Their money supply is virtually endless and is not in the hands of a very small elite group as is the case in Europe or North America. The Chinese ponzi paper has been trickling massively throughout their system and lifted a huge middle class from virtually nothing into a class of millionaires and billionaires.

It went unnoticed or it was endorsed by TPTB thinking they could keep the Chinese in check. I think the Chinese are a few steps ahead of TPTB and will give the Rothschilds a run for their money - literally.
