China Re-Escalates, Deploys Warplanes To Air Defense Zone
A few days ago, in the latest escalation over the its territorial dispute with Japan regarding several islands in the East China Sea, China unveiled a so-called "Air Defense Identification" zone, shown on the map below, which includes not only the Diaoyu/Senkaku islands in question, but stretches from South Korea all the way to Taiwan, and which requires that any overflights submit their plans to Beijing in advance.
The response by Japan and the US was immediate, with Japan blasting China's retaliation to its own annexation of the Senkakus a year earlier and demonstratively neither Japan Airlines nor ANA complying with China's demands, while the US, demonstrating its allegiance to Japan, flew B-52 bombers above the Air Defense Zone.
China promptly responded to what it perceived was Western hypocrisy:
China's announcement to establish an Air Defense Identification Zone in East China Sea has drawn criticism from the United States and Japan, yet their blame is wrong.
Their logic is simple: they can do it while China can not, which could be described with a Chinese saying, "the magistrates are free to burn down houses while the common people are forbidden even to light lamps."
It is known to all that the United States is among the first to set up an air defense zone in 1950, and later more than 20 countries have followed suit, which Washington has taken for granted.
However, as soon as China started to do it, Washington immediately voiced various "concerns." U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Saturday voiced concerns over the zone, fearing it might "constitute an attempt to change the status quo in the East China Sea," and a White House spokesman on Monday called the Chinese announcement over the weekend "unnecessarily inflammatory."
...
Japan set up such a zone in the 1960s and it even one-sidedly allowed the zone to cover China's Diaoyu Islands. But when China set up the zone covering the Diaoyu Islands, Tokyo immediately announced it "unacceptable" and Abe even called China's move "dangerous." It is totally absurd and unreasonable.
In one word, both Washington and Tokyo are pursuing double standards.
The latter should not come as a surprise to China, and the reason why such double standards are allowed to exist in a US superpower legacy world is because neither Japan nor the US believe China would actually dare to re-escalate further. However, in a world in which the US is no longer an undisputed superpower (especially in the aftermath of the Syrian debacle in which Putin schooled the Obama administration) that is changing.
The first clear indication that China would not just sit there and do nothing, came overnight when China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, passed through the Taiwan Strait on Thursday morning on its way to a training mission in the South China Sea.
Naturally, the training mission is just the pretext. China's long-running if dormant feud with Taiwan, officially the Republic of China, is perhaps the best proxy of US interests in the region, where thanks to the Taiwan Relations Act of 1979, the US sells arms and provides military training to the Taiwanese armed forces. China considers US involvement disruptive to the stability of the region, and made that quite clear in 2010 when Obama announced the decision to sell $6.4 billion in military hardware to the island leading to threats of economic sanctions from the mainland.
Which is why China crossing the Straits of Taiwan for the first time with its brand new aircraft carrier is nothing short of a message to Obama. From Xinhua:
It took about 10 hours for the carrier and its four escort ships to get through the strait separating the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
The Liaoning entered the Taiwan Strait on Wednesday afternoon after it left its home port in Qingdao of east China's Shandong Province on Tuesday for the South China Sea on a scientific and training mission.
It was escorted by two missile destroyers, the Shenyang and Shijiazhuang, and two missile frigates, the Yantai and Weifang.
The narrative gets scarier:
"During the voyage, the carrier has kept a high degree of vigilance against approaches from foreign warships and aircraft, according to Liaoning Captain Zhang Zheng. This is the first time the carrier has conducted a cross-sea training voyage and passed through the Taiwan Strait since it was commissioned into the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy in September last year, according to Zhang."
But where it gets worst is that as BBC reported minutes ago, China has not only sent a symbolic message to the US, but a very literal one to Japan and everyone else who thought China would just sit there and do nothing, when it dispatched its own warplanes over the air defense zone.
China has sent warplanes to its newly declared air defence zone in the East China Sea, state media reports.
The vast zone, announced last week, covers territory claimed by China, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.
China has said all planes transiting the zone must file flight plans and identify themselves, or face "defensive emergency measures". But Japan, South Korea and the US have all since flown military aircraft through the area.
China's state news agency Xinhua quoted an air force colonel as saying the the warplanes had carried out routine patrols. The zone includes islands known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, which are claimed by Japan, China and Taiwan.
...
China's state news agency Xinhua quoted air force spokesman Col Shen Jinke as saying several fighter jets and an early warning aircraft had been deployed to carry out routine patrols as "a defensive measure and in line with international common practices".
He said the country's air force would remain on high alert and would take measures to deal with all air threats to protect national security.
In Xinhua's Chinese language version of the article, the colonel said the aircraft would "strengthen the monitoring of targets in the air defence zone and do their duty".
Concurrently, perhaps to diffuse the edge, China's propaganda machine made this latest development seem like it was all perfectly normal:
China on Thursday confirmed the smooth operation of flights over the country's newly established Air Defense Identification Zone in the East China Sea. Everybody can see that flights over the zone have been normal and safe, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told a daily press briefing, adding that in particular, civil flights have not been impacted at all.
"We expect all sides, including aviation companies, to actively coordinate with us and jointly safeguard flight safety," Qin said, adding that aviation companies from many countries have submitted flight applications to the Chinese aviation authority.
So what happens if aviation companies do not coordinate: just how unsafeguarded will flight safety be?
What happens next: will Japan once again prod the not so sleeping dragon, and continue flying commercial (and military) airplanes over China's expanded zone of control, without preclearance with Beijing, and will the US send some more strategic bombers just to prove that Obama didn't win the Nobel peace prize for nothing?
And will then China once again re-escalate, perhaps through an "accidental" engagement with what it "vigilantly" thought was an offensive act by "foreign warships and aircraft?" resulting in a major diplomatic scandal or worse. Or will it simply, and more effectively, launch a salvo of a few hundred billion US Treasurys into the electronic ether, sending the 10 Year yield over 3% and the Fed scrambling to preserve its centrally-planned house of cards?
So, the ball is now in the court of Japan, which lately has been engaging in increasingly more desperate and irrational actions to preserve a sense of control over its imploding economy and the whole "Fukushima thing", and which means that much more entertainment is imminent.

It's figurative. Russia has most of Europe by the balls pertaining to energy: if you don't thing that this hasn't been thought well in advance then you might consider what Brzezinski wrote in The Grand Chessboard. One need only look at all the pipeline battles* to see why all the wars (Afghanistan)- it's about not allowing Russia to control Europe's energy flows.
* A great resource is Pepe Escobar, who refers to these big battles as Pipelineistan (here's an easy read: http://www.gasandoil.com/news/features/ff0b727ac2748dbab4fe58f0c22fca3e)
The U.S. has interests in keeping energy costs low for Europe so that there is more disposable income for trade: more energy $$ going to Russia means less $$ going to the U.S. for U.S. goods.
Jack, I see that you know about Russia and it's capabilities. There is one thing you may have missed though and that is Russa's expat women. They breed with American men and spawn children that destroy things and make gargantuan messes. You should see the living room here! These hybrid children are evil incarnate and possess the worst qualities of both peoples. These terrorist children landmine the carpet with innumerable toys and kitchenware so that you can't even walk.
As a member of the Special Forces/Spetnaz Children Mitigaton Division, I was sent on a mission to find the potato masher which had been abducted by an almost three year old half-Russian terrorist. I was finally able to recover the lost utensil from under the bean bag chair near the cheese that had been smeared into the once white carpet. Earlier this morning, the Russian Secretary of The Kitchen has repeatedly made threats to the terrorists regarding cleaning the place up that have gone unheeded. I finally had to issue an ultimatum to the terrorists: If you don't clean this shithole up there will be no Christmas tree this year and Father Frost will not bring you anything. This threat is very real to the terrorists and WAS heeded. Cleaning up operations have commenced.
I must add that this state of affairs will only last for a couple of hours and then it will start all over again.
lol
You nailed it.
"The Chicom economy is going kaboom... the communist party needs a distraction and peasants to focus on foreigners otherwise they will be overthrown..."
The American economy is going kaboom... the communist party needs a distraction and peasants to focus on foreigners otherwise they will be overthrown...
Fixed!
And:
If one were a dirty evil rottenchid tic thing bankster, it would raise up two, maybe three or four opposing sides, pit them together in chicken fights, and then come in and clean up the spoils of war after each has annihilated each other. Kinda crafty if you can get the opposing sides you are the puppet-master for to go along with the self-suicide.
Jesus! Okay, I am now prepared to take this situtation seriously. We do need to look way back to the beginning of Bush's administration before the economic crisis. The new administration with Neo-Cons in power postions had an open and formal policy of confrontation with China. It was even in the news papers. The Military was ordered to step up it's spy flights along China's borders. One Navy plane equipped as a spy plane, a former USA anti submarine plane, was knocked down by a collision with a CHinese Mig fighter. The fighter pilot died and became a national hero. By a stroke of luck the Navy Plane was flyable but in a descent. It had to either ditch at sea or land on Hinan Island. It landed on CHinese territory. Big diplomatic row. That is history. But now we are heading back to confrontation.
Since the USA flew a couple B-52's and now Japan has overflown the islands, China either does something about it's claim that this is sovereign airspace, or they look like fucking fools. They have deployed aircraft as the story says.
Now it is all up to the human element. I swear to you that Obama and his gang hiding out in their White House hide out are going to challange this Chinese air defense zone again, and soon. Then the men on scene will be under orders to either let it pass or do something. You note that over a decade ago China was in a much weaker and the USA in a much more powerful postion when the CHinese knocked down the USN plane. Today China has gained in power by orders of magnitude, and though the USA has the finest military in the world, it is also a military that has never in the life time of any officer faced a challange by a modern weapons system. What Chian has I do not know. I am well up on Russian defensive abilites, but I do not follow Chinese defense forces at all. Some one else may know the scoop on the 2013 air defense capability.
America, Obama, the neo-con and the fucking banker class would LOVE a big time confrontation with China. You and I know why! We read ZH, so we know what game they are playing at.
"knocked down" is too strong. They collided.Iasked the other day why didn't China shoot down the B52s. Now I know. They didn't have any airplanes in the area. And how do you tell an unarmed B52 from an armed B52?
Yeah but now we have rainbow warriors and pink panthers. And our mighty commander in brief. They cannot be prepared for such a hissy fit.
Last time the Chinese challenged US planes in the region they were flown by Soviet pilots
And if true... this is big.

China recently revealed two new artillery shell designs. One was an improved base bleed technology to increase range of 152mm shells to 28 kilometers. Base bleed works by having some solid fuel in the base of the shell burn after firing, releasing gas that reduces drag and extends range.
China has long made incremental improvements to its artillery and ammunition. But another recent announcement was, well, somewhat incredible. This was the WS-35, an 18 kg (40 pound) 155mm guided shell. Using the Chinese GPS (Beidou) and INS, the WS-35 is quoted with a max range of 100 kilometers and accuracy of 40 meters (125 feet). No one outside China has witnessed the WS-35 in action, so it’s uncertain how well it works or weather the announced capabilities are accurate. WS-35 is mainly intended for the PLZ-05, which is known to be capable of firing rocket assisted shells with a range similar to similar shell designs in other nations (50-60 kilometers). It’s unclear how China has achieved a 100 kilometer range with a 155mm shell. The PLZ-05 is China’s primary self-propelled artillery system. PLZ-05 is a 35 ton vehicle that looks like a tank but is armed with a 155mm howitzer.
The best American artillery shell range? 40-60 km with a accuracy of 20m...
Chinese weapons will look better on paper than in metal
Funny the Americans thought the same of Japan in the 30s. And the Germans of the Soviets... NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR ENEMIES.
Then you've got these...

Want to fuck with China? Do a Thailand, India, Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan and US military alliance like NATO.
And, pay Russia to sniff around Manchuria and their western borders...
The Japanese were provoked by the USA withoit the US being prepared for the response. The USSR was no match for Germany but the German stategy had been predicated on no hostilities in the west - had Mussolini kept Greece under control and North Africa Germany would have dominated the Eastern Front.
Stalin was on the brink of defeat - Japan attacking Pearl Harbor rather than Eastern USSR through Manchukuo and Britain continuing to fight together with Mussolini making a mess in Greece particularly diverted the German war machine. Without Britain there would have been no bombing of German industry and population centres and had Germany gone to 24-hour production it would have had the capacity.
The fact that Germany never intended to attack Britain is clear in the decision in Germany NOT to build 4-engined bombers and the decision in Britain in 1935 to build 4-engined bombers before developing fighter aircraft which were inferior to the Me109
I agree that if Mussolini kept Greece under control, the invasion could have started in May as it was supposed to and not in July as it did... The Soviet Union would have been screwed when they lost Moscow...
But I disagree with Britain bombing German industry having any effect. There's been lots of studies about that and the bombing was mainly to boost morale at home, it didn't do shit in production loss... even if it did, it wouldn't have had any effect whatsoever on the end game. Bomber Harris was a nut and should have been fired early in the war. Anyway, Britain helping Greece had way much more effect on the whole chain of events.
Thanks to the Italians being shitty fighters, Nazi Germany lost the war.
The US and Britain never did do the bombing of the German bearing plants right. Within hours or days after each bombing there at Schweinfurt, the German had them up and running again.
To destroy factories, you must reduce them to rubble, else a determined enemy will rebuild them fast.
DoChen, if you want something reduced to rubble than all that needs to be done is send in my CHILDREN!LOL All the same, my best to you and yours Sir. The Great War of The Christmas Tree has begun and it is not going very well for our side. Christmas Puke is scattered far and wide.
War is Hell. Civil wars even worse.
Without Britain there would have been no bombing of German industry and population centres and had Germany gone to 24-hour production it would have had the capacity.
Without the citizens of the USA donating personal weapons for the infantry, Britain would have lost before the war ever started.Due to the untrust of the peoples to keep and bear arms, they were defenseless(and once again after the war were again disarmed).Had we to do over,we would have been better off letting Germany take them.
It may be a good defensive weapon for them but not much good fighting Japan or others.
....black swan swarm!
mr. vice president. biden, will visit japan, south korea and china next week. it will be an interesting trip.
The perfect storm. Or perhaps we should call it Typhoon?
A key player has been ignored. South Korea is also goose-shitting all over the ADIZ. I vaguely remember that Koreans have an effective way of making ships disappear without anyone knowing WHY they sank.
Japan should just send old drones in the area, let China shoot them down and make them look bad then move for a ban of investments in China/ban of imports from China in the western world.. China would be fucked economically and it would be good for our economy since jobs would come back.
A war between those who make shit versus those who buy shit. I wonder who has the upper hand?
P.S. How long do you think it would take the US and the rest of the world to get their factories rebuilt, workers retrained, and everything running again?
PS : who cares. Most of the crap they make are not vital. We can live without them for months.
Dear China,
As you know hostilities between our two governments for the loot in the Western Pacific has begun to heat up.
Unfortunately we will not be able to continue to escalate hostilities without a loan from you.
Please send us as much as you can spare. We promise to repay it as soon as we have won.
Sincerely,
Uncle "Paper-Tiger" Sam
I misread that as "Taper-Pigger".
+1 - I'll drink (again) to that!
They do seem to hold a lot of the cards now - US Debt hammer, bilateral trade agreements that exclude the US, large population... And the trend has obviously been intentional reduction of dependency on the symbiotic (co-dependent?) relationship with the US for a few years now. You have to be willfully blind not to think something's up, some kind of shift in the international order.
Not to mention people in the US are not hungry for war... especially for a shitty island in the middle of nowhere that's contested and not even by the US.
The shitty island is just the beginning for China.
Those fuckers want it all.
Yeah, because we can see that they've got their military posed all over the globe. No, wait! That's the U.S.'s military!
unclepaper-tigersam
fixed this:
Please send us as much as you can spare. We promise to NOT repay it as soon as we have won.
Isn't this how it works?
All this for some stupid clumps of rock, and maybe some natural gas reserves. If China wants it so bad, why don't they just buy it. It will be a lot cheaper in the end. This is what happens when we have an incompetent Dept. of State, and a weak president that perpetually makes boneheaded mistakes. This should have all been sorted out at the negotiation table months or years ago.
Without this stupid show, the US wouldn't even show up at the table. Knock knock who's there.
Excuse me? WTF should this have anything to do with the U.S.? (I suspect it was just an excuse to parade out yet more party pussy shit.)
U.S., get the fuck out of EVERYWHERE, including the U.S.!

China has concluded that the only way to achieve victory in the air is to adopt Western pilot training methods. China is doing this in a big way. China is already getting rid of its thousands of old Cold War era warplanes.
Since the 1990s China has been acquiring Western-style designs (MiG-29, Su-27/30) from Russia and developing similar aircraft. But these aircraft are only effective if operated by highly trained and experienced pilots. So China has provided the large quantities of fuel and spare parts to keep their several hundred modern fighters in the air a lot. This, however, was not enough. The pilots who started out on the old Cold War style aircraft did not become much better when moved to modern fighters. Something was missing, and that turned out to be technical education and specialized training in the intricacies of modern air combat. That meant greater use of realistic flight simulators (so very dangerous maneuvers could be practiced). So the Chinese are doing all this, including establishing a “pilot university” that provides a four year academic and flight training program.
China’s Increasingly Good Mock Air Battles Prep Pilots for Real WarThe Chinese Air Force now has a training unit that will accurately (as possible) portray enemy (especially American and Indian) aircraft and combat tactics. Thus there are three Blue-Army Aggressor Squadrons (Blue is the bad guys in Chinese training, Red is the good guys) for this. One is equipped with Su-30s, to represent American F-15s or Indian or Vietnamese Su-30s. Another has the J-10A, which is similar to the F-16. The third squadron has J-7s (Chinese copies of the MiG-21), which represent low end threats, like the many MiG-21s India still uses.
http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2013/02/china-mock-air-war/
For 11 days in November, the sky over the northwestern Chinese province of Gansu witnessed some of the most intensive dogfighting to ever take place in China. Jet fighters screamed overhead, twisting and turning in complex aerial maneuvers. Heavily laden bombers lumbered through the tangle of fighters, dodging enemy defenses as they lined up for bombing runs.
The warplanes and their crews were the real deal. It featured the best of the best of the Chinese military, which with 2,700 aircraft possesses the world’s third largest aerial arsenal, after the U.S. and Russia. But the combat over the sprawling Dingxin Air Force Test and Training Base was simulated. Despite the ferocity of the maneuvers, no live weapons were fired. The mock battles of the annual “Red Sword/Blue Sword” exercise are meant to prepare the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) for the possibility of actual high-tech combat.
In terms of authenticity, China’s pretend air battles are getting pretty close to the real thing. That improving realism, combined with Beijing’s new fighters and other hardware, has some observers in the U.S. feeling uneasy.
The Chicoms have been training thousands of pilots...
I'm surprised the Chinese pilots didn't hit each other in the parking lot.
.
China's AF and the USAF should have a LAN war.
When the technology's comparable, economic strength and depth winds up being a big factor in determining the winner - who can last longer in a battle of attrition. Paul Kennedy makes a pretty good case for this over history in 'Rise and Fall of the Great Powers'. Given that we've sold so much of our manufacturing capacity to China over the years so they could sell us cheap shit we don't really need, this might be something for the politicians and their ass-kissing courtiers in the media to keep in mind.
Agreed. Every soldier, sailor, airman and marine should send a heartfelt "thank you" note to their congressional traitors when the bodybags start coming home.
So... who's the real enemy again?
Again, WTF is the U.S. even over there (let alone sticking it's military dick up just about everyone's ass)?
Shellbomb announcement from China about its new policy towards reserves and Yuan appreciation are still making its rounds under the mainstream media radar. Once they sink into the market the inevitable QE Taper will be questioned again, particularly when people will remember that markets can Go Down As Well. No Bears are left in the Equity markets and No Bulls are left in the Gold market - everything is set up for the big surprise as usual. What will trigger that surprise? Maybe the chart below with the NYSE Margin Debt can give us some clues. Please note that Margin Debt Amount normally peaks before the Stock Market. Any move towards Taper will raise Interest Rates and we can have the Top in Margin Debt very soon if not already.

This is the same as the Syrian/Superpowers gambit.
They need cover for a currency collapse. If there was some other way they would do it. But they NEED this. So they will engineer it.
Maybe next time, China will just go near whoever flies in the zone and just ``LOCK ON`` the plane as a message...
And it all comes down to ONE QUESTION...
Do you want your kids to die for a shitty island in the middle of nowhere? Certainly the answer in America is FUCK NO.
In China, it's more likely : HELL YEAH, MY KIDS WILL GLADLY DIE FOR CHINESE GREATNESS AND EMPIRE... and as payback against those dirty Japs for what they did to us at Nanking!
As long as the Chinese are the ones dying, no problem exists for the conflict.
If you look at the defense area it's an obvious way to box Taiwan in. We cannot effectively defend either. The Japanese should sell the islands to China and move on. If we get involved in a hot war over this it will be the biggest strategic blunder of the century.
And don't forget: The chinese have allready millions of their own people in the US.

If I were Japan's government, I would tell my scientists to start assembling our secret nuke stash stat... just in case.
We don't need B-52s or even nukes. Look at the U.S. debt China holds. Oops. Just more posturing here.
Posturing by China that is.
The US government just has to say... All US debt owned by China AND ONLY CHINA is null and void due to their warmongering and war-like actions against Murica.
Yes, I am aware.
...and then China says that they'll back their currency with Gold, the Arabs drop the petro dollar, and its game over.
Game over. LOL. More like Saudi Arabia gets invaded and WW3 kicks off. But again you got those cocksuckers in DC... so they might say YES PLEASE and taking it up the ass without saying anything.
Well, I'd say WW3 is game over in a bigger way than collapse of the US dollar. But I don't think TPTB are that attached to US global dominance anyway. I mean, they have all the wealth, why the fuck would they care who's nominally in charge politically?
This is exactly what the U.S. has been brewing up for MANY years now.
a dangerous game - "We don't want to pay our bills, so we'll engineer a war, and claim that our debt (held conveniently by the Country we choose to go to war with) is null and void".
Wonder how the International Bond markets are going to interpret that action. If you think China has not positioned themselves for such an eventuality think again. Remember this? - http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-10-17/chinas-dagong-downgrades-us

U.S. and Japanese power are waning in that area of the world. And China knows it. They're probably emboldened after watching 0bama and his cronies get soundly spanked by Putin during the Syria "crisis."
Putin calmly played the logical cards. The U.S. set itself up a LONG time ago to spank itself.
It's all about whether you can hold on to what you have, and the U.S. has tried to hold on to WAY too much for FAR too long. The smoke and mirrors aren't working anymore.
Sounds like the Chinese economy must be weaker than they like to let on.
On the plus side, this should be USD + (at least in the short term)
what you lose in the middle east you reprogram to win in the far east where the sleeping dragon lies...
Well, I can't even tell a Chinaman and a Jap apart. I predict lots of "frenree fire" accidents.
If China is not stupid, they will not let Washington have a clear casus belli to rally people around the flag... something like a Pearl Harbor or a 9/11... that way, opposition against the war will be huge.
The antiwar movement basically died as soon as the red team puppets were replaced by blue team puppets. I can't imagine them making much of a fuss about another awful war as long as there isn't a draft.
Would't you think that if Obama wanted to put the fear in the Chinks that he would of sent something a little more modern and not a plane
(an oldy but goody) thats older than most people on this site. How about a a couple of B1's or 2's flying low and slow.
War games, football games, parades, big birds, big planes... You gotta love the Holidays
B-52s are expandable yet kick ass. Not to mention they have a huge radar signature... B1s and B2s are a big strategic asset... you don't use them as pawn... you don't have that many... and if it hits the fan, you would rather have one more B-2 than one more B-52...
Care to guess why the battleships were left in Pearl Harbor and the aircraft carriers were sent out to sea?
Two birds with one stone... (and here we are today)
It is about the time to send unemployed and unemployable young Americans and Chinese to die.
They won't have to lie about the unemployment figures anymore.
Even Chinese medias are pissed that the Chicom government didn't do shiat when the US flew B-52s... next time, it could get real ugly.

China's response to US B-52s in air zone 'too slow': media
China's response to US B-52 bombers in its newly-declared air zone was "too slow", state-run media said Thursday, fuelling a popular clamour for Beijing to get tough against Japan and the US.
I think SP 1900 soon? War mongering is good for stocks, maybe USA will join party? DJ implodes
Buuuuurrrrrrrrp!
Yup! We will give medals to and praise the survivors. We will salute them as they hold the flag before the football game, while we fart from bad beer and even worse hamburgers.
Holy shit, at last, it took me to page 4 to read the truth about Americas future.
On one hand you have poeple on here waving the flag and want to go fight the Chinese to protect thier true friend...Japan......(LOL)......and on the other, they sit on their fat flabby lazy asses in the USA and do NOTHING about the enemeis within their own economy and government who are destroying the USA.
Americans are retarded. They do nothing to protect their children from the crimes taking place in their own country.....but will happily send them off to die to fight for the Japanese.
America is soooooooo fucked. (Chinese just need to knock down your satalites and your military will be deaf dumb and blind anyway.)
I don't disagree, but I'm sure the children of your country are fat little fuck toys too. Remember, this is a global world. You are not immune.
A friend told me the story of when he was visting the states he found himself in a coffee shop where he was asked if he ould like to pay for a can of coffee to be sent to a serving soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan.
He replied "I would rather make a donation to bring a soldier back."
The dirty looks he collected from patrons were unbelievable and it was only his six foot four plus 150 kilos that saved him.
Americans have a Pavlovian habit of putting their hand to their heart while the government puts its hand into their pocket whenever they feel that their pride is being affected.
I gave the warmonger fucks plenty of opportunity to come get me but they were all bark and no bite: unlike others I'd be involved with, I was not/am not a pacifist. Even had four younger strapping dudes run their club cab truck up on a curb and stop right next to me. I'll take 'em on one at a time, and I ain't going to lose: speed kills, size tends to cause people to be lazy (complacent in their thinking) and slow (in their physical responses): I know what I'd die for.
Kudos to your friend. Need more folks like him. Buy him a coffee for me.
"Power of Propaganda" (counter to the mass-marketed "Power of Pride")
Are the Chinese concerned that the Japanese may use these islands as a dumping ground for spent fuel rods ? Hence allowing civilian passenger passage through this airspace without interception yet concerned about other Japanese flights in area. Just a wild thought.
It is probably just another of those stupid 'red line' games.
Perhaps a little like the incident with the Falkland Islands where the Brits sank the General Belgrano which resulted in the loss of around a thousand lives from memory.
There is no saying what the egomaniacs on both sides might do when their children are not flying planes or manning ships.
Nasty things happen when you invade the soverign territory of others, and then hold their people as captives.
The UK should have "followed the American example" and used nuclear weapons. Good enough for the Yanks, so good enough for everyone else isn't it.
They need to get Tepco to build a nuclear reactor on these islands so that nobody will want them.
Good Point!
Make giant water cannon, and shoot 'TEPCO Fukashima' dirty-water on anybody you wish, and you control the world.
Breaking :
‘Hostile’ aircraft could be shot down in new air zone: Chinese air force generalhttp://www.scmp.com/news/china-insider/article/1367110/hostile-aircraft-...
This is gonna end SO WELL...
Lets hope it does'nt rain, so the USAF can still fly their "Super Fighter" and not have to rely on 40 year old and obsolete F-15s, -16s....etc.
How many minutes would it take Japan to assemble a nuclear missile battery? 5? 10?
Meanwhile, a conventional conflict might be just what the morons in charge of the US, China and Japan all have agreed to in order to stimulate the world economy...China needs the distraction from its own internal instability and growing revolt and to reinvigorate the stagnant production system, US needs it to excuse more debt-spending so we can afford more Chinese crap, Japan needs it for all the same reasons as well as to boost child birth rates which wars tend to do.
This should all work out swimmingly!
I've read that Japan can have atomic weapons in 90 days if they want them.
Presumably they're already under the American nuclear umbrella in case of Chinese invasion, so I don't think it matters that much.
They have 'plutonium'
But these days what counts is 'hydrogen' ( fusion bombs ), as nobody fucks with fission bombs anymore.
So they could 'dirty bomb', but so what?
My guess is given Hiroshima, and knowing full well that the shit would come back ( fallout ), there is no way in hell that JAP will drop nukes on anybody, and lastly yeh right 'china', China could remove Japan from the map if they wanted.
Most likely to remember is that to the average Chinese the JAP is still a rapist and baby fucker, cuz during WWII, that was pretty much all Jap's did when they invaded China, on the behalf of the USA.
Chinese husband asks wife for 69, wife says why you want beef and broccoli.
Who's our President?
Who's our President?
Totus you say.
Well who control the Totus? Who control the Totus?
Chineesers sons a bitches that's who you want to go after. Not the people that are getting terrorized by them. You gots to get to the source. Gets behind the Totus, to the globalists and banksters trying to keep you from your oil.
It won't be treasuries that will determine the outcome.
It will be the supply chain of all those trinkets that come from Chinese factories owned by US interests.
The threat of mutually assured destruction will ensure some restraint. At least let us hope that will be the case.
This has potential to be very big indeed....the Chinese are in no mood to fuck around. The US is not interested in overseas conflicts at the moment, thank you very much, and the Chinese know that. They will push this thing to the max and then some. The US might surprise them...then we are all fucked.
This sort of reminds me of the movie,"The Bedford Incident".
"if they fire one, we'll fire one!"
I can see Obama screaming, "What are we gonna do now?", after one is fired.
... Obama will consult the Torpedo Evasion Plan handbook. Written by a guy named Finlander.
One we'll placed arrow, .308 round, or at most, a shoulder fired rocket at fukushima should achieve lots of revenge against the northern hemisphere.
Happy Thanks-giving all ZHers, thanks you for your insights into current affairs.
Don't ask what Ben's QE# can do for you, ask youself what you can do for wall street: pay taxes, obamacare, buy house, tesla and twitter till next burst.
We need an alternative game plan since we can never end QE. Maybe a nice Chinese war would be stimulative. Plus in 30 minutes we'd want to do it all over again.
Buy bitcoin and don't worry about it.
Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Mr and Mrs. Gox, ain't they located in Japan?
Holy moely time to sell.
THIS IS PART OF CHINA's FINAL SOLUTION
First there will be some conflict with the US that the Chinese will scream "violated" their sovreignty.
Then comes the economic sanctions against the US
Then comes the massive dump of ALL their US Treasuries, flooding the US with its shit fiat
THEN the dump by other foreign treasury holders in a panic
THEN the BACKING OF THE RMB with ALL THE GOLD THEY HAVE BOUGHT LAST SEVERAL YEARS, becoming the new intl reserve currency
CHECKMATE!

If one was a rottentick bankster that owned the glove-puppet maurice strong, and you placed him there long long ago to design and build up china to be the next money engine, this is what you would do alright. This has been ongoing with the likes of the clitonians helpng to build the new babylonian empire of red ants. Considering the exodus of Americas business and technology, the plan was not to keep it in a country that is being set up to go down. Possibly even in some sort of surprise attack. One has to remember how many times the chinese have said they want the food belt of America, and actually have a plan to use bio-weapons in the attack. Who knows. What we have historically seen, is this war path going hotter and hotter with lots of well placed events and timings of things, like a total crash all forming up rather not so unexpectedly suddenly. As the year turns, the ship slips into icy waters. Thar be dead men down there.
When you pack this much cranky firepower in that small a space, all you need is for one junior-level guy to screw up just a tiny little bit, and then it all goes into autopilot.
very scary. Stanley Kubrick noted that in an 1968 interview (yes the last cold war) that all it takes his one nut-case to set off. Hence Dr Strangelove.
Bets Japan will do it Also watch Russia from the South also a disputed area with Japan - Kuril Islands.
Obama should stand down for allowing B52s, and I'll bet they were armed, flying through China's essentially no fly zone.
Yes, this is really about Japan. They're pretty much fucked and have to figure out how to convince their people to rally around the flag: it is, after all, the citizens who own all the debt.
As someone else mentioned, Russia need only sit back and watch the U.S. crumble. They'll likely do more of the talking, as they did with Syria.
Why aren't we scrambling F22's & F35's? What a great chance to compare those two jets, and for the MIC to show how superior the F35 supposedly is to get more contracts. Empty B52's just ain't gonna be enough. In fact, since they were empty it might have emboldened China to be more brazen. They also know Obama is slow to move on situations so if they move fast on this they can probably secure the airspace over these islands.
All your airspaces belongs to us.
To state the obvious...
'War is an economic event..."
MIC elite gain wealth..
Prime age examples of society get maimed, and or killed..
Population gets reduced..
New toys get tested,,
Many 'goals' acheived..
:-(
A big part is in garnering more control over your citizens. Gawd this movie gets old...
Um Krugman, all your disrespect towards the Austrian inflation to war cycles. Sh*t about to hit you f*cking loon. Chin/Japan/US are debt and inflation fueled war-machines. Be proud now
Every year around March, North Korea fires up and threatens to nuke the world because of the US/SK war games. The same principle is happening here but the seriousness of it suggests big problems in China. The Chinese are using this 'external' flare up to distract its people away from a domestic issue. With what I have read lately, I would consider the domestic issue to be something to do with its credit bubble or a liquidity crisis. So, I wonder if China's economy is on the cliff edge?
I say fuck the boats n planes.....Money always wins
Call the China asset managers and smash USD bonds for 3 days and go buy AUD instead..... Two birds one stone...
Betcha the impacts much more persuasive
Paying attention China?
I think China has had a gut-full of Obama's lameness, and I am pretty certain in the Chinese economic war-room they underlined the segment from the FED Dec 2012 paper, nothing that if rates go up - the FED holdings would swing into gigantic losses (say a trillion+), and the Treasury doesn't get paid. A weak point, small, but deadly. So the Fed prints a trillion + to cover the losses while the USD is crushed.
hahahahahaha
Ah sh*t reminds me of star wars, Death Star etc etc etc
Once upon a 'time' all these places were 'chinese', but the USA drew lines in the water post WWII.
So the Chinese do a little USA? SO fucking what? Like the man said the USA/SOUTH-KOREA have been doing this shit for show forever in the region.
But getting back to the USA, the USA controls 90% of the earth, and has 1,000's of MIL bases world-wide and not a PEEP from you MOFU's, the Chinese which has the 'NAVY' of 1/1000 of the USA, draw's lines in the AIR, and the ZH/MSM turn you munchkins into fanatics'.
I would say, when you see an orchestra on ZH, look for a conductor.
Drink more booze it works.
Seriously who is going to fund the US army once the UST market blows up? The Chinese wrote the art of war, big armies become supply draining behemoths and if funds dry up once the Fed can't pay the interest anymore and America goes into hyperinflation.
Rome baby...
WHAT MUST BE UNDERSTOOD IS THAT THE CHINESE HAVE A LOT IN COMMON WITH THOSE VICTORIA'S SECRET ADS ON THE SIDE OF THIS WEBPAGE; THEY BOTH HAVE SOFT UNDERBELLIES THAT ARE BEST LEFT-UNEXPOSED. AS WE ALL KNOW, THE CHINESE NEED AN INTERNATIONAL CRISIS LIKE A HOLE IN THE HEAD AND THE VICTORIA SECRET MODELS NEED TO TAKE A BREAK FROM THEIR ARTFUL EXPOSURE OF THEIR BODIES AS WELL AS THEIR FORNICATIONS FOR THE SAKE OF LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIPS AND MARRIAGE.
Meet Chinese Me Play Joke..Me put Pee Pee in You Coke...
What's next? An announcement from china they discovered an ancient map showing evidence of indisputable sovereignty over Ecuador, which was once part of Brazil who paid a tribute to the mongols, therfore all of south america belongs to china and the south americnas must stop their splitist rhetoric?
Here we go... the "commies are coming"...
Like Russia, China is trying to push the U.S. from its doorstep.
The U.S. is an over-extended empire. Retreat from its outposts was always going to occur, and this is a good thing (if you're of the libertarian mindset).
