Jeff Bozo's bonehead idea tried to use the Chinese idea for cakes. Already being done for cake delivery in China.
The delivery trucks are already packages and going through the neigborhoods with FedEx and UPS.
Just another way to bump up the stock price.

Bezos says the drones are limited to a five pound payload, but says that 76% of Amazon deliveries are under 5lbs. That doesn't compute for me. I would say more than half the products on Amazon weigh more than 5lbs when shipped. Sure memory cards and other small items are under that weight, but those aren't exactly the kind of products Amazon needs to sell to equal their claimed revenue. Besides, if your package is under 5lbs UPS charges you the same shipping as a 5lb package. That also must mean most people only buy one item at a time on Amazon instead of buying bulk.
I can see that psychopath Bezos doing this because he believes it will save money shipping everything under 5lbs by drone instead of using UPS.
I hope the first family whose dog gets killed by one of these things sues Bezos for $1 billion.
methinks bezos was smoking some bad weed the day he came up with this idea.
Bezos is smart enough for free PR. The eyeball hijackers ate up otherwise dead-air at no cost; such a digital swarm & groom in full effect on a special day not April Fools but just as well, the fools are still there.
