This includes Medicare Part B premiums plus prescription drug coverage plus premiums for Supplemental Health Insurance to private companies such as Blue Cross. And as retirement incomes increase to designated levels, Medicare payments after retirement increase accordingly.
As Medicare.gov reports regarding Part B Medicare costs:
“You pay a premium each month for Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance). Most people will pay the standard premium amount. However, if your modified adjusted gross income as reported on your IRS tax return from 2 years ago is above a certain amount, you may pay an Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA). If your good at your job you will be handsomely compensated by the owners eventually your working for. If not you will have the chance to test the open market at some point by finding the same job with a different employer.
Their are no short cuts for the majority of us and the sooner you understand that the better off you will be.
I'm twice your age and I can tell you point blank that this president should not be trusted. Here is why. The health insurance is a jobs problem. The national debt is a jobs problem. The food stamp dependency is a jobs problem. All of these problems and many others I could list are because we do not have an economy creating well paying jobs. Your friend probably would be shocked at how hard it has become to create a company and therefore jobs in the US because of people like our president.

There is a difference between being poorly educated and naive and being stupid and I assume the IQ bell curve is the same for this generation as all the preceeding ones. One can improve one's education and naivete takes care of itself with time, but there is no cure for stupid. Some will certainly go along with this. The majority are going to do a simple risk/benefit analysis in their head and are not likely to cut into their beer and fun budget for health insurance. They went about this the wrong way.
