Notice the tell in the names:  "China" Policy with "Japan" bailing out on "Obama".
Not on the US, but Obama.

Subtle, telling, deep subliminal messages like this popping up all over in MSM.

Ha, is he now experiencing loneliness or solitude?
What was the other telling report?  When retired he wanted to host some ESPN program?

Nice candidate leftie wing of same party.
You watch.  In 2016 the Republicans with an election to loose will run a demented McCain again.

It's what's brewing on the back burner that has the ME on prozac or ecstacy,... there's talk of a 'Middle-East Free-Trade Area (Zone'd?)'. Think of a grandiose zeitgeist `Neo-Marshall Plan', to create a foundation for a progressive, and fledgling ME trying to find it's place in the world other than being pawns for it's natural resources?!? ... with the people deciding their future rather than a foreign entity electing it's leaders???  (this is now what the USSA looks like to the world since forty years of presidents and congress-people are locked into a lifetime of office, because of jerrymandering or via redistricting or the appeal of lobbying takes them out with corporation now having people's rights-- corporations are people too, says, SCOTUS Roberts)

Think about it for a second-- Iran's 'Nuclear Detente' and Saudi Arabia literally throwing hundred's of thousand illegal workers out of the country. Why?

Can you imagine a 21st century ME with 'State-of-the-Art' Technology and safe nuclear energy to facilitate a humongous geography (Iran & SA Landmass) and demographic infrastructure-- it's desalination (nat-gas?) plants turning a desert into a lush garden with so many ancillary industries given birth,... etc., etc.,.. jmo

As none of the ME countries has anything like a free society that even fakes a policy of human rights, their only path to international power, other than through leveraging their oil, is through hyper ramped nationalism, which radical islam templates perfectly. Most ME country's populations hate their leadership, but will ralley about them if they think their country is under attack. We template that behavior perfectly as well. All international alliances are still ony about the individual country's advantage. There ultimately are no "friends" only those who support you to advance their own aggenda.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the vast majority of the 'fucking yellow monkeys' involved in the atrocities of WWII are dead now. So how is that 'karma' exactly, when most of the Japanese alive today had nothing to do with it?

Or are you a 'sins of the fathers' kinda guy? In which case I hope none of your ancestors did anything evil, cuz if they did, you'd apparently deserve some karmic payback according to your 'thinking'.

first off leaving aside that we got our butts kicked in Vietnam and had the longest retreat in US Army history in Korea I wouldn't call any of this "karmic" in any way...but certainly ironic. If there should be any more non-nuclear place in the world it should be Japan. To their credit they've shut the whole thing down. Apparently they're shutting down a lot of other things as well. Japan is restless and will cause big problem down the road. After WWII, Japan is practically castrated . Its consitution prevents it from declaring war.Its people feels impotent and is itchy to get back to their old imperalistic days, hence the current aggression in SE Asia. First it purposedly slapped the Chinese in the face by naming two newly born panda after the disoputed Diaoyu/Senkaku Island SenKaku . Then it further provokethe Chinese by nationalize the disputed Island.

Diaoyu/Senkaku is just an excuse and soon will be the catalyse for an inevitable war. It is Japans excuse to try to grow a pair. They are tired of seeing the US occupying forces raping their little school girls and feel there is nothing they can do about it. They are doing domething about it and China unfortunately get drawn into it.

think sino-soviet treaty (1950) where it was lenin that helped mao rid the country of the enemy? now living in taiwan (republic of china) and it was the ussr that turned over it's captured islands to china (mao and lenin were very close, inddeed, until khrushchev... whom mao hated/disliked as an illiterate marxist-communist) that japan claims as their's. remember,... if truman hadn't dropped the nukes ending the war, it would have gone on for months, in which the ussr was about to invade and claim in it's (warsaw?jap? pact) as theirs

joeseph stalin didn't think like lenin, that is why mao became disenchanted with the ussr. remember mao's  first five-year plan was not only nationalistic orientated but also aligned strongly to marxist communism... whereas stalin's ussr went the totalitarian route, the rift being that china was communist indeed in ideology but wasn't a natural ally of the ussr's domestic economic landscape going forward?  please realize that stalin preached marxism but didn't practice what he preached. on the other hand mao knew the reality of marxism being the future and thus it's financial dogma in economics. personally i think marxism was spot-on, when we have keynesian's capturing a free-market for the politburo elite here in the ussa.

No to the last part Earle, the Russians actually did invade Japan at the very end of WWII, they took Karafuto Prefecture Sakhalin and still hold it today, as per the preceeding Yalta carve-up agreement.

"In August 1945, according to Yalta Conference agreements, the Soviet Union took over the control of Sakhalin. The Soviet attack on South Sakhalin was part of the Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation, and earlier sanctioned by the Allies, started on 11 August 1945, after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and four days before the Surrender of Japan. The 56th Rifle Corps consisting of the 79th Rifle Division, the 2nd Rifle Brigade, the 5th Rifle Brigade and the 214th Armored Brigade attacked the Japanese 88th Division. Although the Red Army outnumbered the Japanese by a factor of three, they were unable to advance due to strong Japanese resistance.

It was not until the 113th Rifle Brigade and the 365th Independent Naval Infantry Rifle Battalion from Sovetskaya Gavan landed on 16 August at T?ro (???) — a seashore village of western Sakhalin — that the Soviets broke the Japanese defence line. Japanese resistance grew weaker after this landing. Actual fighting, mostly skirmishes, continued until 21 August. From 22 August to 23 August, most of the remaining Japanese units announced a truce. The Soviets completed the conquest of Sakhalin on 25 August 1945 by occupying the capital, Toyohara, when Soviet troops swept southward and in nine days defeated 20,000 Japanese defenders.

The Russians knew that to take any more of it, or Korea, would result in immediate conflict, and the Russians were in no position to do it either (thus the Korean war of reunification took a few years longer to emerge).

'Declaring war', as a legal constitutional formality, basically doesn't happen anymore. If Japan's territory is attacked Tokyo has the same right as every other country, to order a military response using overwelming force, as much as neeed, and it would. It's made that very clear to North Korea in the past.

The pacifist constitution is a figment of the western wishful-thinking imagination, and that imagination is also rapidly adjusting itself to strategic realities. If there's a military action by China, and or Russia, by the response, you will never have guessed that Japan ever had a 'pacifist' constitution.

The West over the past 25 years has shown everyone how to make excuses for starting illegal wars of aggression, all that it requires is the propaganda, subterfuge and provocations, and the diplomatic cash reserves and sway needed to convince everyone to go along. And given the suspicions about Chinese intents they will most probably get the support if it comes down to trading missiles.

(and the US MIC would just about die of a glee overdose)

You are assuming the US is a rational actor.

It no longer is.

Many people assume Obama is out to sabotage the US because of his anti-colonial sentiments.

It is not necessary to assume this.

The fact is, that unless the American President conducts foreign affairs with ruthless efficiency and wisdom in furthering the national interest, that American President's actions will be indistinguishable from sabotage.

Obama has no clear idea what the American national interest is. Frankly neither does most of Washington, in either party. It doesn't concern them much, either.

O.T. announcement, vital to Ammo people: on Dec. 31, the US closes its last Pb smelter, due to [drum-roll please] "Environmental" reasons.

After that, you'll be sourcing freshly smelted Pb from overseas. Or sourcing it domestically from recycled Pb.

Hedge your ammo investments accordingly (when prices will go up), and TPTB start "managing" imports. For your safety, of course.

We now resume regular broadcasting.

booga booga... fun facts:

- lead is well over 90% recycled in the USA

- bullet makers do NOT like to use lead from primary smelting, the grade is too poor to make modern ammo with

- of the secondary (recycled) lead used in the USA, only 3% of that is used to make ammo; the vast majority goes back to making what it was recycled from to begin with - lead/acid batteries

we now resume our regular nutjob fantasies with no fact checking or basis in reality

edit: forgot to mention - Doe Run Company runs the >>> largest secondary lead smelter in the world <<< out of Missouri, so no one in the USA is going to be seeing a lead shortage anytime soon

The real owners of Amerika seemingly need more time to bargain, debate and negotiate among themselves before they can set up a common facade for the group's common interest on the China Question. After that,  the war with China will be official launched, and the world will witness the First Virtual World War fought entirely in the cyberspace. Welcome to the Future!

Obama & Graham & McCain tried to "lead" us into Syria a few months ago.

That fantasy hit a wall quickly.  Amerikans very suspect now....

0bama the Idiot is selling out Japan and the US. He is your typical black victim that has decided its all whiteys fault that the rest of the world is mired in poverty, violence and technological backwardness. He, and most of academia, hasn't realized that it was culture and not imperialism that propeled us far beyond the rest of the world. Ask yourself this question: Just before the imperialism phase began why was it that Spain managed to get to Mexico yet the Mexican could not get to (much less imagine) Spain? Why did Africa never make it to South America? What about China? The Middle East? I suspect it will take a catastrophic event for the West to wake up to their own stupidity, hopefully we will not become extinct before that happens. The rage being promoted across the world against the caucasians is being stoked on a daily basis by those who wish to profit from it.

If we all scream "all people are equal" loud enough and long enough, surely it will come true.

Japan is something like 98.5% Japanese, so that is like racist or something.  How are we ever going to get a Japanese Obama at that rate?

You don't get it the problem is never "them" but always "us"; what WE become.

You are right that the West is what it is 'cos of the KNOWLEDGE tree that has borne fruit like nowhere else. Damn right, since Pythagoras and Hippocrates days.

But...we also had that other facet of humanity that neutralises the knowledge thread time and time again : The curse of the Atrides. The Lust  for power at any cost amongst the royals.

So western civilization is a two headed animal; predatory and enlightened.

When the predatory head leads its 'Carthago delenda est' and its mayhem for all. When its the Knowledge thread, it becomes "hang those royal bastards by the guts of those other fake shamans" to save the common people.

No perfect solution we go from pillar to post depending which head has head start; caught between Charybdis and Scylla!

Somehow we can't seem to balance the score between them for our own freedom.

Maybe we don't deserve this ain't that a heretic thought!

So as for those other "fools" from another civilization meme, until they catch up to us we stay our OWN worst rivals!

Granted that periodically delusional hubris as today leads us to shoot ourselves in the foot like we were looking for our own Achilles tendon!

Japan rearms its military building 8 super carriers and reinvades Manchuria.   Does anybody think this isn't going to go the way it has gone for 2000 years over there?  The hate is palpable.

And on this issue don't be surprised if other nations step with their tiny feet into the BIG shoes of USA in the China equation.

Statist France is currently in China trying to negotiate with Statist China (birds of a feather) huge state infrastructure contracts for the future :

Nuclear reactor tech

Peugeot and Renault joint venture investments both in France (Peugeot) as in China (Renault).

A huge mega city integrated complex with futuristic infrastructure for Wuhan ((10 million population).

THis will involve  urban integrated waste and pollution systems like nowhere else and new methods of mass transport...Puma telepheric intra cty links as well as automatic tram systems under central guidance. Futura ville where you can buy 300 french cheeses and 1000 french wines and Peugeot cars like Inspector Columbo. Bringing the Versailles gardens to Wuhan and maybe the Versailles palace for the big boss man.

While Apple makes Ipads in China France dreams of making can't get more delusional than that; Vive la France.

Maybe the Chinese are so fed up with smog they prefer frog grunts for desert (just kidding).

Japan could never counter China's arms buildup. All that matters now is the strength of its allies, and specifically the US resolve to intervene or not intervene. If I was China and my desire was to expand my territory I'd do it with Barack Obama in office.  I expect China will take Taiwan down before 2017.

US Military spending $682 Billion.

PRC Military spending $166 Billion.

They aren't even serious about the military over there in China.

Anybody here remember the PRC invasion of Vietnam?

US annual interest payments to China ... $40B and growing.  We don't have to worry about their military spending as much as we have to worry about how much of it we are paying for.

Afghanistan Is Cozying Up To Iran As US Deal Stalls - Business Insider

Spanner in the US-Afghan works ahead?  Karzai is now waving a red flag in Obammy's face if US walks from Afghan.

And this : The US Congress Might Throw A Wrench Into The Iran Deal - Business Insider

One thing looks sure from all this : The leaders of Pax Americana today don't know their ass from their hind legs (both true for the Donkeys And the Elephants).
