I knew a guy whose goal was to excel in something. As he couldn't find anything that he could really excel in, he said he had settled to just "excel in mediocrity".
I think he succeeded in reaching his goal, but it seems he wasn't alone.

You must be reading my mind...just a post about Congress and math today...hire a couple quants and stop the 24% cut in pay for doctors scheduled to take place on December 28th...this is the annual SGR problem..yes it takes math to fix it, so Congress better hire a couple quants..beyond actuary talent at this point as you need the quants to look at all the code that will attach to all of this..where actuaries leave off..
