Faber, Rogers, Dent, Maloney, & Stockman – What Do They Say Is Coming In 2014?
Submitted by Michael Snyder of The Economic Collapse blog,
Some of the most respected prognosticators in the financial world are warning that what is coming in 2014 and beyond is going to shake America to the core. Many of the quotes that you are about to read are from individuals that actually predicted the subprime mortgage meltdown and the financial crisis of 2008 ahead of time. So they have a track record of being right. Does that guarantee that they will be right about what is coming in 2014? Of course not. In fact, as you will see below, not all of them agree about exactly what is coming next. But without a doubt, all of their forecasts are quite ominous. The following are quotes from Harry Dent, Marc Faber, Gerald Celente, Mike Maloney, Jim Rogers and nine other respected economic experts about what they believe is coming in 2014 and beyond...
-Harry Dent, author of The Great Depression Ahead: "Our best long-term and intermediate cycles suggest another slowdown and stock crash accelerating between very early 2014 and early 2015, and possibly lasting well into 2015 or even 2016. The worst economic trends due to demographics will hit between 2014 and 2019. The U.S. economy is likely to suffer a minor or major crash by early 2015 and another between late 2017 and late 2019 or early 2020 at the latest."
-Marc Faber, editor and publisher of the Gloom, Boom & Doom Report: "You have to say that we are again in a massive financial bubble in bonds, in equities, in [other] asset prices that have gone up dramatically."
-Gerald Celente: "Any self-respecting adult that hears McConnell, Reid, Boehner, Ryan, one after another, and buys this baloney… they deserve what they get.
And as for the international scene… the whole thing is collapsing.
That’s our forecast.
We are saying that by the second quarter of 2014, we expect the bottom to fall out… or something to divert our attention as it falls out."
-Mike Maloney, host of Hidden Secrets of Money: "I think the crash of 2008 was just a speed bump on the way to the main event… the consequences are gonna be horrific… the rest of the decade will bring us the greatest financial calamity in history."
-Jim Rogers: "You saw what happened in 2008-2009, which was worse than the previous economic setback because the debt was so much higher. Well now the debt is staggeringly much higher, and so the next economic problem, whenever it happens and whatever causes it, is going to be worse than in the past, because we have these unbelievable levels of debt, and unbelievable levels of money printing all over the world. Be worried and get prepared. Now it [a collapse] may not happen until 2016 or something, I have no idea when it’s going to happen, but when it comes, be careful."
-Lindsey Williams: "There is going to be a global currency reset."
-CLSA's Russell Napier: "We are on the eve of a deflationary shock which will likely reduce equity valuations from very high to very low levels."
-Oaktree Capital's Howard Marks: "Certainly risk tolerance has been increasing of late; high returns on risky assets have encouraged more of the same; and the markets are becoming more heated. The bottom line varies from sector to sector, but I have no doubt that markets are riskier than at any other time since the depths of the crisis in late 2008 (for credit) or early 2009 (for equities), and they are becoming more so."
-Financial editor Jeff Berwick: "If they allow interest rates to rise, it will effectively make the U.S. government bankrupt and insolvent, and it would make the U.S. government collapse. . . . They are preparing for a major societal collapse. It is obvious and it will happen, and it will be very scary and very dangerous."
-Michael Pento, founder of Pento Portfolio Strategies: "Disappointingly, it is much more probable that the government has brought us out of the Great Recession, only to set us up for the Greater Depression, which lies just on the other side of interest rate normalization."
-Boston University Economics Professor Laurence Kotlikoff: "Eventually somebody recognizes this and starts dumping the bonds, and interest rates go up, and inflation takes off, and were off to the races."
-Mexican Billionaire Hugo Salinas Price: "I think we are going to see a series of bankruptcies. I think the rise in interest rates is the fatal sign which is going to ignite a derivatives crisis. This is going to bring down the derivatives system (and the financial system).
There are (over) one quadrillion dollars of derivatives and most of them are related to interest rates. The spiking of interest rates in the United States may set that off. What is going to happen in the world is eventually we are going to come to a moment where there is going to be massive bankruptcies around the globe."
-Robert Shiller, one of the winners of the 2013 Nobel prize for economics: "I'm not sounding the alarm yet. But in many countries the stock price levels are high, and in many real estate markets prices have risen sharply...that could end badly."
-David Stockman, former Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Ronald Reagan: "We have a massive bubble everywhere, from Japan, to China, Europe, to the UK. As a result of this, I think world financial markets are extremely dangerous, unstable, and subject to serious trouble and dislocation in the future."
And certainly there are already signs that the U.S. economy is slowing down as we head into the final weeks of 2013. For example, on Thursday we learned that the number of initial claims for unemployment benefits increased by 68,000 last week to a disturbingly high total of 368,000. That was the largest increase that we have seen in more than a year.
In addition, as I wrote about the other day, rail traffic is way down right now. In fact, for the week ending November 30th, U.S. rail traffic was down 16.3 percent from the same week one year earlier. That is a very important indicator that economic activity is getting slower.
And we continue to get more evidence that the middle class is being steadily eroded and that poverty in America is rapidly growing. For example, a survey that was just released found that requests for food assistance and the level of homelessness have both risen significantly in major U.S. cities over the past year...
A survey of 25 American cities, including many of the nation's largest, showed yearly increases in food aid and homelessness.
The cities, located throughout 18 states, saw requests for emergency food aid rise by an average of seven percent compared with the previous period a year earlier, according to the US Conference of Mayors study, published Wednesday.
All but four cities reported an increase in demand for assistance between the period of September 2012 through August 2013.
Unfortunately, if the economic experts quoted above are correct, this is just the beginning of our problems.
The next wave of the economic collapse is rapidly approaching, and things are going to get much worse than this.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!
Do I have time to pour myself a bourbon?
Yes. No rush. Don't spill hurrying back to your keyboard. World will still be here waiting to complain about it.
yes try some buffalo trace, best thing out there now
"Mexican Billionaire Hugo Salinas Price"...Hit the nail on the head!
If what's coming, doesn't kill me in the first few years, should make me stronger!.....Right?
Sometimes you can be so far ahead of the curve that you actually end up behind it. It seems the markets have the ability to stay irrational longer than some prognosticators' credibility can remain solvent.
It's fairly obvious to anyone paying attention that something bad this way cometh. All we can really do is try to guess the trigger event, and estmate the speed and direction of the fallout.
Well said, Trip.
Only thing is trigger event is so well hidden we have to "rely" on hints from them...
but then so much happening these days even if we follow hours after hours each day, we might miss it.
They always seem to head off the known trigger events in time to keep the juggling act in the air. Look at what they did in the EU a few years back. They kept the show on the road at a time when many of us thought it impossible, because they saw the trigger events coming and headed each one off at the pass before it hit. It is the unknown or unanticipated triggers that pull the curtain down on the whole show.
There is a black swan lurking in the background which will trigger the start of dominoes falling. Until then, it's a wait and see game as TPTB pull all the levers behind the scenes to avoid catastrophe. As evidenced by Japan. 20+ years and they are still in the death throws, so unless a triggering event occurs that cannot be staved off by TPTB, this game could go on for some time.
MOST IMPORTANT PREDICTION:
-Gerald Celente:
...during "2014, we expect the bottom to fall out…or
something to divert our attention as it falls out."
Perhaps much more serious false flags than 9/11? Enabling more genocidal wars, and most importantly, the imposition of democidal martial law in North America, which is something that has been well prepared for, due the long history of backing up the dominating systems of debt slavery by wars based on deceits. Decades of wars based on deceits, such as the war on (some) drugs, prepared the way to develop militarized police forces, willing and able to use runaway forms of legalized violence, to back up legalized lies. The triumph of the events on 9/11/2001 as an inside job, false flag attack, took the already constructed system of the fascist police force, advancing the agenda of the globalized runaway fascist plutocracy juggernaut, and amplified that by more orders of magnitude.
The American democratic republic has been deliberately destroyed. The American economy is being deliberately destroyed. The "economic collapse" of runaway triumphant financial frauds driving debt slavery to generate numbers which have become debt insanities are actually the least of our real worries! There is a combined money/murder system, which meets at the top of the social pyramid system. As the debt slavery systems devolve into debt insanities, the death controls are going to be pushed towards becoming death insanities.
The social pyramid system of Neolithic Civilization has become amplified to more astronomical sizes, by technologies that are trillions of times more powerful and capable than anything that previously existed in known human history. However, those were channeled through basic systems which were built on the foundation of backing up huge lies, with lots of violence, in order to keep the vast majority of people ignorant and afraid. THAT is what is being magnified by many orders of magnitude, towards collapsing into chaos, and causing social storms on a scale never before seen in human history.
There is now no way to fully comprehend what happens when a global system of electronic frauds, backed by atomic bombs, collapses into chaos, due to its final failure from too much success at dominating the world with legalized lies, backed with legalized violence. The fundamental madness is due to that being able to run systems of force backed frauds NEVER makes those frauds become true, but ONLY drives society as a whole to become more psychotically insane.
The runaway triumph of debt slavery, based on private banks making "money" out of nothing, as debts, has driven debt slavery systems to become debt insanity systems. There are no mathematically possible ways to resolve those problems within their own frame-of-reference. However, it appears that those who made and maintained those systems have their own plans for how to resolve those problems, which are to deliberately drive the human condition towards generating situations where it will become possible to mass murder the majority of the human population.
Since the overwhelming vast majority of people have been brainwashed to believe in bullshit, and therefore, deliberately deny and ignore the basic concepts of human ecology, which surrounded and sustained the real political economy systems, the collapse of that almost inconceivably crazy and corrupt political economy (where debt slavery segues into debt insanity) shall trigger the follow-through in the overall human ecology predicament, from the political economy problems into the human ecology problems.
Since our real human ecology developed through murder systems evolved in the crucible of conflicts, whereby success in warfare was based on backing up deceits with destruction, Neolithic Civilization became based on death controls done by the maximum possible deceits, which included not only the ways that those were really done, but also the socially dominant manner that those are discussed in almost totally bullshit ways, through false fundamental dichotomies, and their related impossible ideals. In that context, there are practically zero possibilities of creative breakthroughs sufficient for enough people to understand what is happening enough to resolve those problems better. Instead, the issues are not merely that debt slavery necessarily is driven by the structure of fundamentally fraudulent accounting systems to tip over into debt insanities, but also that, when that happens, the social responses which the ruling classes have prepared are going to cause death insanities, probably in the form of more false flag attacks, as "something to divert our attention," triggering more genocidal wars, and the imposition of democidal martial law.
Since the fundamental structure of the established financial systems are force back frauds, where that force can never make those frauds become true, but can continue to drive the whole system to become more psychotically insane, and since there is nothing within those well-established systems which can fix their problems, within their own frame of reference, the global systems of electronic fiat money frauds, backed up by weapons of mass destruction, are being pushed towards psychotic breakdowns. The ruling classes have covertly embraced those ways to resolve the problems, because they can, and because there are no other practically possible ways to resolve those problems, since the overwhelming vast majority of people do not understand those problems because they do not want to understand.
Since almost everyone who is relatively successful within the established systems depends upon those organized systems of lies, operating organized robberies, in order to be able to benefit from those systems, and so, are the least willing to understand those, while those who suffer the most under those well-established systems are the least able to do anything to actually change them, all combined, we are collectively locked into the increasingly psychotic spirals of legalized lies, backed by legalized violence, in which the debt controls are backed by death controls, in ways which operate through the maximum possible frauds and deceits, which were selected by history to be able to dissemble themselves to themselves, as well as to deceive everyone else.
Therefore, although more wide-spread recognition of more radical truths about those facts are what would be theoretically necessary to catalyze the transformations, those are the least feasible things to enable to happen, although the increasingly psychotic breakdowns of the currently established systems may motivate more people to begin to think about those facts, much more than they ever did before. The deeper drivers of all these events are that the real limits to exponential growth approach at an exponentially accelerated rate. Since endless exponential growth is absolutely impossible, and therefore, it must end, one way or another, sooner or later, we are rushing towards those limits faster and faster. However, meanwhile, the entire financial system is based upon being able to continue to have exponentially more debts (which no longer can be meaningfully sustained by exponentially more natural resources being discovered and developed.)
One way or another, and probably sooner, rather than later, we are going to go through profound transitions in our political economy and human ecology. However, since the well-established social pyramid systems of the Neolithic style of civilization were based upon the ruling classes' dishonesty, backed by coercion, keeping the majority controlled by ignorance and fear, those now appear as the only feasible social responses, despite that there are technologies which are trillions of times more powerful and capable than any that ever existed before during the history of the evolution of that Neolithic Civilization.
Theoretically, it would be nicer is we were able to go through sufficiently profound paradigm shifts in the philosophy of science, which could be applied to politics, so that we could transition through the end of exponential growth in better ways, into a better Translithic Civilization, which integrated systems of creative alternatives! However, the present path is for the debt slavery to continue to struggle to prolong itself, despite already having become blatant debt insanity. Hence, overall, the predictions for the future revolve around the current deep trends: exponential growth, backed up by weapons of mass destruction, which are interacting in ways whose totality has nothing remotely close to compare that to during any period of previously known human history! In that context, all of these very plausible predictions, summarized in this article above, regarding serious economic problems on the horizon of history, are relatively nothing compared to the serious ecological problems which surround them!
Damn it, not you again. Go easy on that pipe, man.
Hey, Caveman, nothing I wrote had anything to do with smoking a pipe. The only tangential relevance is the way that the law asserts that "marijuana is almost as bad as murder," when the truth is that hemp is the single best plant on the planet for people, for food, fiber, fun and medicine. Marijuana is merely the most extreme example of the social fact that our society is controlled by legalized lies, backed by legalized violence, headed towards psychotic breakdowns.
All of the economic crises trace back to the legalized lies achieved to make the monetary system become the way that it is now. Similarly, the same evil deliberate ignorance dominating everything else is why there has been driven runaway social polarization, and destruction of the natural world. Neolithic Civilization, like America, started with a fresh planet, or a fresh continent, to rape the resources from ... the deeper problems are that rape has already mostly been done, and therefore, the consequences of that rape are what we are looking at now.
The present economic systems are dominated by unrepentant rapists and robbers, who have forced everyone else to live within their systems of maximizing the short-term benefits, regardless of the longer term consequences. The problem is that the longer time passes, the less the short-term benefits are worth, while the larger the longer term costs become. Since our whole system was based on privatizing the profits, while socializing the losses, as time passes, both the privatized profits and socialized losses accumulate. Overall, in the longer term, the socialized losses therefore become much greater than the privatized profits. However, the privatized profits continue to be able to dominate the political processes, in ways which deliberately ignore how those privatized profits are driving greater and greater socialized losses.
Therefore, the success of fundamentally fraudulent financial accounting systems drive their own runaway madness towards self-destruction, while all the way there, those who benefit from that in the short-term keep on getting more wealthy and powerful, and therefore, more able to dominate the political processes, in order to legalize bigger lies and more violence ... which then destroys human society and the natural world as a whole more than ever. (The only relevance that "marijuana" has to that is as a salient symbol of how lies backed by violence, promoted by the ruling classes, for their own evil ulterior purposes, have succeeded in controlling the ways that civilization actually behaves!)
EVERYTHING OUR ECONOMY DOES IS BASED ON TURNING NATURAL RESOURCES INTO GARBAGE AND POLLUTION AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, BECAUSE EVERYTHING WE DO IS BASED ON BEING ABLE TO DELIBERATELY IGNORE THE PRINCIPLES OF EVOLUTIONARY ECOLOGY, SINCE OUR REAL EVOLUTIONARY ECOLOGY WAS BASED ON MURDER SYSTEMS WHICH EVOLVED THROUGH THE HISTORY OF WARFARE, THAT MORPHED INTO MONEY SYSTEMS BASED ON FRAUDS. THAT IS WHY ALL THESE DIRE PREDICTIONS IN THE ARTICLE ABOVE ARE THE MOST PROBABLE FUTURE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE MAY INDIVIDUALLY WISH TO SEE THAT POSTPONED AS LONG AS POSSIBLE ...

I could ride on your train until you start throwing the word "evolutionary" around......that's when I begin to doubt your premise......and your agenda.
Amen. Essentially correct, though as the Tylers state everyday, in the long run we're all dead, or " on a long enought timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero". Still, for the interim, see Spengler's "Decline of the West'.
Nonetheless, short term what happened last week in Japan was an ominous omen and a potential trigger. An arch enemy Axis power defeated and turned into a pet puppy dog has now been given the green light by its "democratic" master to openly fascist. This has the mutlple affects.
Radical Marijuana, I say this without malice and I am absolutely sincere.
If you really think what you are saying is important, you should try to present it in a much better fashion. No disrespect, but right now, it sounds like a 9th grader trying to impress someone with faux erudition. The ideas are not well presented and I believe few people can make them out.
I have no way of knowing, but I believe the majority of the people who attempted to read your convoluted post would agree with me.
You wrote it as an exposition, but be prepared to be challenged on your assumptions, theories, and conclusions if you ever clean that mess up. You seem to be swinging an awfully wide brush...
You know, gallistic, one of the themes of what I write is that there is no practical point regarding why I "should try to present it in a much better fashion!"
The main theme is that the real world is controlled by lies, backed by violence, which MEANS that evidence and logical arguments are pretty well pointless. I barely cling to the irrational hope in some series of political miracles, but, I do NOT believe in that actually happening. Rather, I really believe that things are spinning seriously out of control, and that NOTHING that I could possibly say, or do, could make any significant difference to that.
IF, which is extremely unlikely, my messages were more widely received, the most probable real result is that THEN the people who did not like those messages would respond to try to discredit or destroy me. The only thing which keeps me "safe" is that I remain too insignificant for the biggest bullies to care what I say. For instance, pick a famous example, as a thought experiment, IF Ron Paul was able to become President, what do you think that his chances of being assassinated would be? Looking at American history, I would say at least 90%!
What I write resonates with a few people who have come to similar conclusions, through their own ways. The real world is dominated by groups which are collectively trillionaire mass murderers, and I am so far beneath playing in their league that is it silly for me to attempt to! The world is out of control, and surely out of my control. I merely make my own personal effort to try to understand what is going on. Writing my ideas is a way to assist with my thinking through things, including the feedback that I may get.
OF COURSE, I KNOW THAT MY MATERIAL COULD BE WAY BETTER EDITED, AND PROOFREAD, ETC., HOWEVER, I ALSO KNOW THAT WOULD REALLY NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE, BUT RATHER, COULD BACKFIRE AGAINST ME, PERSONALLY, RATHER THAN ACTUALLY MAKE THINGS REALLY BETTER.
What a seeming pile of gibberish and nonsense. Not a single coherent theme or thought in the piece except there are changes coming and they will be big. Baffles me how this huckster continues to get people to buy his schlock.

Does anyone think ES (p/e) will be close to 2014 estimates of $119 per share, when the P/E is 19.23, and the GAAP average is 16.5 at it's best.

Plan accordingly.
No but it depends on several factors including how much more juice companies can squeeze from the already squashed SG&A numbers, how much longer they can prevent putting off investment, how much cash they continue to use to continue to buy back shares, etc. Top-line numbers and estimates though are pretty ridiculous from what I have seen except in a few sectors.

These gus are just incredulous that this Fed scam could go on for so long w/o any blowback.
The BOJ, ECB, and Fed are very powerful when tyhey all become Fabian socialists at the same time. The level of immorality carried on to first save the bakers, then enrich the bankers, is astounding and probably has not ocurred on such a massive scale since the Dark Ages.
That is what Faber, Rogers, Stockman et al are saying. This level of criminal immorality wil result in something not seen since the Middle Ages. The longer that the Fed perpetrates the scam, the worse blowback is going to be.
Timing wise - cannot see this thing going on for more than 6 months. If no taper in DEC and no taper in JAN., this thing blows ....bonds get shaken and stirred, equities - particularly the non div paying TWTR's of the QQQ get sold heavily.
Of course all this is assuming we are not in a war with China yet.
Nah, the CBs can just print and enable their owners the commercial banks to buy EVERYTHING. Then we can go back to what they see as mankind's natural state - feudal servitude.
One needn't be famous or a rocket surgeon to know what's going to happen in 2014.
The ObamaTax is what's going to happen. The public doesn't have the money to pay for the insurance - insurance with high deductibles no less.
IOW, the economy is going to fall flat on its face.
Consumers won't have the money they usually have to buy stuff. More businesses will close as a result which will intensify the downward spiral.
2014 will be remembered the way 1929 was remembered for a very long time. Like 1929, it will get worse from there. Only unlike 1929, we don't have gardens or chickens any more, ie, some folks will starve.
I know nothing. I doubt any of us does. I just try to think rationally (which seldom works) to visualize potential scenarios and outcomes. While I wouldn't want to give too much credit to those running this taco stand of an economy, I do think that those with the bulk of the wealth have always had it, multigenerational. What we prize as wealth today is shit they printed up and induced us to labor in exchange for, so I think they still are on top and even more completely own us. While a crash of a devastating nature is possible, I think those driving this wagon are much more intent on using significant market movements as a tool. They have been doing it for years. In spite of 08 we still see the same players on top.
My guess is that the super rich and government both want the same thing, power and the control it provides. The US cannot maintain world reserve status indefinitely if they keep their current policies in place and we know they can't stop either, so I think they will eventually precipitate a currency crisis with which they will use to create a new world currency, fully digital and fully in control by them. We know there is no nationalism left in these high circles of power and with a single currency, no fx to watch, they can print forever and there will be nothing to balance it against. Metals will be outlawed for use as money or asset, much as it was in the 30's. To the delight of many there will be no free market or anything that anyone other than a politician would refer to as capitalism left in the world. A crisis in the economy will force us to abandon freedom to save it, or at least a cheap substitute of freedom. Maybe something with colorful flags and a rousing theme song.
Something like this?
Exactly!
I'm going long on the Repo Man.
Harry DENT , Athor of "the roaring 2000s". Please, let me sign up for his newletter. Celente-same ol shit. Like reading a horoscope. Horoscopes never pan out for me either.
How about we put it straight forward. Don't be in the market cause well connected criminals are going to rip you off. Take your marbles and go home. We are not going to buy the market then sell it to younger folks for our golden years spending habits. The demographics alone don't support it, nevermind the GS ana JPMs out there ripping you off along the way. Prepare to support yourself in your old age as long as you can. Save in real stuff and relationships. Things that are harder to rip off. Maybe you'll get to shoot a banker in the face when they have to resort to b and e to steal your stuff.
I agree with these admonishments so greatly that I spent thousands to move my family to fly over country and join my family who sees the same thing on the horizon. Everything I do is in preparation for nasty fuckin shit.
these guys aren't wrong...based on the fundamentals and laws of physics, they're predictions are 100% accurate. The timing is the only thing nobody can accurately predict. But shit hitting said fan blades for sure is going to happen big time, folks...and every single one of you (and I) know it.
What's the saying? That the markets can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent or rational? Something like that?
Well that's the thing. The powers that be...all these psychopath, sociopath, greedy, murdering, nut-jobs who are running everything into the ground at our expense and their massive personal gain don't have much time left to keep juggling all those chainsaws.
We know and they know that time is running out fast. This shit has been going on for the better part of 100 years now, and it's not like this wasn't their plan all along anyway to crash things at a certain period around this time give or take what, 1 to 10 more years maybe?
Even they can't always pull off their evil plans perfectly...the main variable to thwarting their planned economic collapse and total takeover of the world will be We The People. In my opinion. As more wake up and discover the matrix they've been trapped in it slows down the march to total world tyranny by these criminal scumbags. Then they have to regroup and track back, slow things down, spin more lies...kick the can further while continuing to juggle all those chainsaws a little while longer in hopes of putting the sheeple back to sleep a little longer.
Or else they'll just pull the big trigger and cause a massive world war...they always have that choice, and there's not a whole helluva lot we can do about that but to continue to prepare and wake more people up.
Bitching about Schiff, Williams, Celente, and all the others who have been rightly predicting these issues even if their timing is off doesn't mean they're wrong. At least they're out there being the good guys trying to wake more people up to get us all mentally, physically, and hopefully economically prepared for whenever the shit does hit the fan.
Yeah, I've been ready for several years now and yes because it hasn't happened by now I do have to deal with friends and family who are still deeply stuck in their normalcy bias/congnitive dissonence or whatever type of denial you want to label it as, and they sound just like everyone on here bad mouthing the fact that nothing bad has happened yet.
Well a whole shit-ton of bad shit has been happening and it's piled up to the point where there ain't no turning back. It's all going to collapse. It has to collapse, because that's what us dumbass fucking humans always have to do...we always have to collapse shit in order to start the cycle over again. It always has to eventually collapse because nobody ever wants to believe they have to turn the ship around before it crashes into the iceberg...they always have to keep fucking with fate until the inevitable has to happen.
Then wars break out, millions or billions this time of people will die...it'll be a real fucked up future for a while...maybe even for a hundred or a few hundred years before mankind crawls out from under the rubble of this next collapse.
All we can do is prepare so that we're not stuck in a stampede of zombies with no food, water, weapons, supplies, silver, gold, etc.
We have to take this seriously here beause many millions will not and that means we'll be heavily outnumbered by a lot of real bad and real desperate people. So we either do everything we can to wake enough people up and get them on the path to preparing to survive what's coming or we just find a place in the mountains to bug out to and wait for the zombies, drones, and SWAT teams to eventually come find us. Then it's game on and that's why we stack lead and lead delivery systems. At least you'll go out fighting rather than in a wimper or starving to death or whatever other hell awaits the billions of others who won't be able to make it through what's coming.
I'm glad those guys have been bullhorning this shit for years or else I could have easily missed it and still be an ignorant douchebag stuck in the "matrix" like the rest of the sheeple. I'm thankful for those guys.
And there also aren't very many sites like ZeroHedge who get the word out either. So I say thank you to whoever the Tylers are and for their endless work of putting up so many critical articles.
So: Thank you
Stack on, bitchez...silver's still on sale!!! ;-)
Its one thing to motivate someone into action who is used to working for their own welfare, but those who are simply used to welfare without work will not come along so easily. They will be the zombies that only know to eat and let nothing stop them or dull their hunger. Our government is the agent of our demise but I'm more concerned about these zombies than any FEMA camp.
Can you imagine what the U.S. urban plantations will smell like with all those piles of dead black dirt rotting in the streets.
Spoiled-brat suburbanites will be dying like flies in the rural outlands many with their guts spilled from shotgun blasts while trying to steal the food of others.
Are you sure you want to survive the initial Elitist onsloughts of paramilitary SWAtteams and feral Obamaloids?
I am not sure of anything except my time on earth is very limited and how we respond to a crisis defines us while we are here.
Excellent overview, Save_America1st!
It makes me wonder whether the tiny percentage of down votes you received came from paid trolls? It is one of the curious things to wonder about, since there seems to be plenty of indications that some people are being paid to participate in discussions in negative ways.
Macbone says Uranus will blow up the markets in April. Bet on it hitches. Macbone out ->>>>
I wonder what David Stockman thought of the week before in rail land:
https://www.aar.org/newsandevents/Freight-Rail-Traffic/Documents/2013-11-27-railtraffic.pdf
We see what we want to see.
Looks like decent traffic to me. Here there are 4-500 cars a day, heading north and south, in the great white.
Diesel and gasoline, H2O2, NH3, and other nasty shit going north. Wheat and canola, lumber and pulp, going south. We got pipes to move the oil.
If you need a job, come here, we need help. Our local newspaper has four and a half pages of classified ads, three pages are help wanted.
And it's flyover country too. -5F tonight

Fuck man, where is here?
Western Canuckland.....Far away from Obowel Movement and Ottawa.
There is a common theme here. Everyone seems to understand it is about the interest rates: both for U.S. government debt and for the derivatives in the Shadow banking system. That is why there will be no taper... now or ever, because interest rates can never rise significantly again.
The Fed lost control of long term bond rates in April, 2013. I would be less sanguine in attributing magic powers to the Fed. The Fed temporarily masked insolvency by adding debt based liquidity to the markets. The illusion is lifting, albeit slowly.
Stockman doesn't know what he is talking about when he says rail traffic is down 16.3% from the same week a year ago. I get the Railfax Report every week and it shows total traffic is up a few % over the same week a year ago. You can see the graphs here, http://railfax.transmatch.com/. The recent drop off is a seasonal one that happens every year. The 16.3% drop is from the previous week, not the previous year.
Also seen clearly in the graphs, the uptrend from 2009 is still intact with successively higher highs. Stockman's interpretation of the table he references is clearly in error.
I heard the same capitulation sentiment from the guy who bought the house in my neighborhood that was the peak price back a few years ago, after having sat on the sidelines the whole way up.
He knew better but he surrendered to his emotions..
What to do???
Teach them well, and don't let them forget. History has been painted nicely to show a patriotic vision of where we came from and who was evil and not. The information age will make it much tougher to hide the truth. One man, Edward Snowden seriously screwed up the diplomatic relationships of America for good. He chose to be outcast for the good of the world. Tough act to follow, what will you do? It's difficult to choose upheaval and chaos when you have children. The elites are counting on that. God help us all.
And that is exactly why I think we will slowly accept and become accustomed to a much lower standard of living across the board. It's definitely on the way. The chasm that has widened between the rich and the poor will only last so long before the whole thing just upends.
100,000,000. At Least. Resoundingly aware of the Scam of the Century.
Yet the Fed Feeds on...Laughing all the way to the bank. Literally!
Historic times we live in...
Years from now...great grandchildren will be disgusted by this generation...
The bullshit occuring today belongs in a museum exhibit for our grandchildren to see, but I don't think they'll necessarily be disgusted. The generations that lived under Stalin, Mao, Hitler, and Roosevelt are not exactly hated and reviled by their grandchildren today. Instead of being disgusted by the common man of previous generations, I suggest we save our disgust for the political hacks and financial megacriminals of past and present generations.
Well let's see, 2013 was the *all time record* year for guns and ammo sales.
So, 2014 will be the *all time record* year for soda can shooting and duck hunting... unless of course, open season is declared on government thugs.
if you are really sweet to the waitress about one out of ten will give you that blowjob..

Empire Strikes Back:
European Banking Authority Warns Consumers On Virtual Currencies
Update: Central Banks are getting all together now to celebrate Federal Reserve 100 Year Anniversary. If somebody thought that Bitcoin with other "listed" 42 Crypto-Currencies can challenge the bansters for real, please think twice and take at least the profit! We need more smart people with capital to join the real values when Gold and Silver will be shining again after Special Op "Gold 2.0" to distract 99% from Gold will be over. FED is still silent, but crackdown on Bitcoin is already in place. NowCentral Banks of Australia and New Zealand have issued Bitcoin warning. All these actions are coordinated, as you can see now. Pump it Up and Crash it hard - how many will be left to support the brilliant idea? We will note one more time very important coincidence: according to the reports JPMorgan is Net Long Gold now. Crashing Bitcoin will send Gold much higher, maybe JPMorgan knows something the others don't? EBA joins with its warning China, South Korea, Norway, France and other financial authorities from different countries. This warning and presented footprint for actions by authorities in order to attack and seize the assets involved is the most explicit among the ones we have seen so far. Unless Bitcoin is not the Special Op created by the FED to celebrate its Anniversary and 100 Year War On Gold, U.S. will follow soon with its actions. You can guess yourself whether it will be difficult to find evidence that some transactions on the particular exchange were involved in criminal activity and can affect Everybody Involved. Major risks according to EBA: You may lose your money on the exchange platform
Your money may be stolen from your digital wallet
You are not protected when using virtual currencies as a means of payment
The value of your virtual currency can change quickly, and could even drop to zero
Transactions in virtual currency may be misused for criminal activities, including money laundering
And the punchline and footprint for further actions against Crypto-Currencies:
Virtual currencies depend on high technology to work. When things break down that will be the first thing to go.
Isn't that the end game? JP and Putin going in and Evelyn Rothschild rooting for the one-world currency. With SkyNet in full peta flop mode, I see two things that would be riding the coat tails of the puppet master. First, the shooting war following the currency wars (for depopulation) and the ultimate mark of the beast crypto currency where ALL your transactions are forever stored on the masters servers and your credits surviving at the whim of an alt-delete. Brilliant! And, the chess peices slowly align to the point of check mate.
It's not like the puppet master is beholden to any Nation, nor are there too few useless eaters. The game is as simple as a gardener harvesting crops with rotating fields, BitCoin being the latest trial balloon - que the Winklevie, guys who could easily be played by the intelligence community.
When the stars align where this beast currency is a shoe in by and for the money masters, the shooting war will soon follow.
All I know is that the interest on the federal debt (17 Trillion plus at last count) was 220 BILLION dollars in FY 2013.
That was with interest rates on the debt near 1.3 percent. While most of that is in ten year and 30 year notes, what happens when the rates go up to the average 6%? That's over a Trillion dollars a year for the INTEREST on the national debt at 17 (not counting the yearly additions).
Considering we only take in about 2.7 trillion in taxes and fees, some 40% of the government income will have to go to pay the interest, which leaves 1.7 Trillion to pay 2 Trillion in mandatory obligations of the government.
Just a matter of time
major default coming, then all out theft of all pensions, savings, deposits, etc. that are in the banking system.
There's been a silent bank run going for a while now as those in the know have been getting out ahead of the collapse.
But the vast majority will be totally wiped out. A bank closure/holiday will be declsred and that will be the beginning of the end.
Get out now. hold on to a good amount of cash, but keep stacking silver as well.
We will need both and other barter items to get through the great currency reset.
Invest in a mossberg 500 12g and a reliable sidearm as well.
I think they'll just do a devaluation of 40% overnight. Wake up and your money is worth much less.
"A survey of 25 American cities, including many of the nation's largest, showed yearly increases in food aid and homelessness."
Nothing says recovery like that.
To the people who are saying that TPTB can keep this thing going for a long, long time, I have one word for you....a word that nobody ever thought would be synonymous with poverty, decay, squalor, and hopelessness.
DETROIT.
Actually, Detroit proves that TPTB can continue to keep this thing going for a long, long time. Everything is for sale in Detroit, and the proceeds will not be used to power street lights or for snow removal. TPTB will extract their rent, be made whole on their investments, and the citizens and pensioners will be the ones without a chair when the music stops. Wash, rinse and repeat at the next municipal bankruptcy.
How will they be made whole on their investments with houses selling for $39?
Are you serious? Have you been sleepwalking these last five years? You do know that US taxpayers have bailed out the financial services and big banks in the amount of $23 trillion since 2008, right?
It's very simple. Heads the oligarchs win, tails we lose. Always!
Well, in 2014 the glass remains half-full.
I try to think for myself and analyse my local situation, what do I see with my own eyes and what am I hearing from others on my travels.
Generally...
Business has slowed down to an crawl, companies are trying to do more with less, more businesses have gone into administration.
Unemployment is up, more people are chasing fewer job, high flying grade A students are fighting each other for the same crap low paying jobs just so they can service the debt they have.
Real inflation is under stated, energy and other utility prices are increasing far faster, more are accepting pay freezes and pay cuts just to stay in work.
Discretionary spending is down, people are making do with less, some OAPs have to decide between eating or heating on a daily bases.
And it goes on...
So NO I don't buy into the bullshit of a recovering economy because it's just not what I'm seeing nor hearing on the ground.
Agree on the ground here in AU I see.
Under and unemployed with little hope of change seeking illicit distractions
Many closed shops
Prices rising on services as govt and business try to stay solvent
income stagnant or rising below what goods and services are rising
General strenthening disillusionment. House prices out of reach. The Australian 'dream' gone.
Corrupted politicians enabling the gap (rich vs rest of us) to get wider
Be afraid; be very afraid...economic collapse IS right around the corner. Thanks to our dysfunctional system of government we are all fucked.

Will Digital Currency Replace the US Dollar?
Wall Street Strategy to Make Bitcoin the Global Currency?
A Utopia of Equality or Jumping from the Frying Pan to the Fire?
Lookie over here, not over THERE!
http://www.globalresearch.ca/will-digital-currency-replace-the-us-dollar...
Bring it on already, I am bored.
Let's face it brothers and sisters, over the past 5 years the doomsayers have been WRONG and have cost their active followers lots of money shorting and even more in missed opportunity. What the global owners have done, in a well-coordinated fashion by pumping unimaginable liquidity into the global economy IS criminal to us, the powerless. But they see it as their money anyway, governed by their employee politicians and bankers and protected by their military forces. It is all managed: how do you explain so much liquidity and "no inflation", zero interest rates, precious metals falling.
They are not done yet and if you are going to play with the big boys, you better get your mind right. IT IS AS IT HAS BEEN UNTIL IT IS NOT!
Quit buryng yourselves into a hole of "what should be" and open your eyes to "what is".
The difference this time over the previous five years is the ObamaTax.
Nearly half of US housholds have $800 or less in savings. Three-fourths say they are living paycheck to paycheck.
Since consumers drive 2/3rds of the economy, the ObamaTax is like throwing sand into the gas tank. It's a lot of sand when most familes are going to be negatively effected starting in three weeks.
My guess is that by July the spiral should become quite noticable.
What does Krugman say?
The banksters threatened that imbecile globalist Totus Bush with same kind of horseshit so they could rob the United States of America blind in 2008. You need to get those punk ass banksters up against the wall and haul them off to prison and stop worrying about this non-sense. Get rid of the financial terrorists and stop falling for their propaganda. They will kill you if you let them.
Don't be too confident in having the same discussion next year... You know; it's coming, first slowly, then suddenly.
Beware of Dent's prognostications (especially regarding the stock market in recent years). Back in June 2012 he stated this:
Dent said it looked like stock markets worldwide peaked in March [2012] and we’re on the first wave down of a broader crash that is going to get very severe in 2013 and bottom somewhere in 2014. He added the bond market could begin collapsing later this summer.
http://stockmarketadvantage.com/harry-dent-get-out-of-the-stock-market-n...
Dent didn't know the Fed would be so crazy as to add $85 billion a month to bank balance sheets.
The Fed kicked the snowball down the hill. The snowball is still rolling and gathering size.
If you don't know what the Fed will do, then don't bother making predictions.
Whatever trend has been going on Dent extrapolates to infinity. "The roaring 2000s". That was a good decade eh? Ignore him.
Shiff and Celente will eventually be proven right but we all know that. Not when though.
Plan 9?
When Lindsey "get your pencil and paper ready" Williams is on the list it really makes me roll my eyes at the whole article. He is an example of a broken clock being right at least twice a day. His claim of getting his info from someone who knows someone who is "elite" is really grade school girl drama level ridiculous.
But, the other soothsayers carry more cred and some are predicting the same as the preacher so I have to take it somewhat soberly.
Becauses we have a doom concensus, we are going higher.
So many good comments on this thread.
Here is one of Celete's bad strikeouts on Jan 4th 2012: http://etfdailynews.com/2012/01/04/gerald-celente-eu-collapses-in-90-day...
But I still really enjoy listening to him, he's developed a pretty foul mouth of late.
Are higher interest rates deflationary?
And should I buy the dip?
Nothing will save you, not gold or silver, not a bunker. When the hordes come for food and its chaos, you will know its true. Im in Australia, it will be fuked but not on the scale of the USA, which will be totally fuked
Mostly True. The cities will be fuckered. The smaller communities in the sticks will do just fine. The cities will devolve into chaos and people will just kill each other. Out in flyover country, everyone knows each other and really pulls together. FSA will be spotted instantly. Flyover country knows thy neighbor and helps out when needed. The church and civic centers will be places of information and resources. Gardens will be grown, ammo will be shared and a sense of community will be reestablished as the cities become hell on earth. It will not be easy. The greatest human caring occurs in times of duress. I lived in NYC and now I live in rural Ohio. The girls at the pizza counter know me by name, the gentleman who opened the door as I left tonight asked me how I was and had a general sense of care and respect. The entire time I lived in NYC, I was cut in front of every line I entered, nobody asked how I was and never once did I feel the calm, peaceful community I feel here. We will make it.
I'm sorry but I grew up in rural PA (parents still live there) and this notion that people in the schticks are happy neighbors who know one another, get along, and pull together is largely pollyanna BS. If things nearly as bad as you describe, you think rural people would help one another out? My guess is that in some communities they would but in others they wouldn't just as what happened in the Great Depression.
Hell, if you look at the statistics on rural America today it is pretty damn depressing. It is an area that is older, sicker, less well educated, and more poverty as a whole and there are a lot of rural parts of the US especially in the upper and middle Plains states (oil drilling regions non-withstanding) that are actually becoming depopulated entirely.
Varies I guess, but dont confuse less education with less caring. PS, you often see what you expect. You Bizarro may just always see the glass half empty
No those are the facts today about Rural America and what happened during the Great Depression.
Your facts suk dude. Your the red arrow ticking fuker. There will be nothing like whats coming. There is no fuking map except what you truly feel is right. Its BS to write people the fuk off based on some past dead fact. Its called living, I suggest u get some....and a chainsaw
Between the two, I will choose the sticks. I cannot grow food in Brooklyn.
I noticed the line cutting in NY too. I was shocked. Where I live someone would kick your ass for that.
And, the sticks. People are poorer but they don't know it. It hurts when you go down, when you've always been down it feels normal. At my bug out place people wave to each other on the road, men hold the door for women. Not many college educated but most can grow a garden and skin a deer. And shoot FSA.
IKR. People are essentialy good, yet in cities its anonymous and separate. But worse the worst sort are in power and big business including running meth etc. Its destroying man. I truly feel its coming, something big. We are moving small town rural next month
Good on you and yours sir. NYC was suffocating. I have a two year old and another on the way. I moved for them and my wife. I agree with your sentiments. The snake is eating its tail. The cities will be a bad place to live.
het toast, i'm planning to go all green acres this coming year. the civility that i see in my soon to be new home is amazing. it was like that here less than ten years ago. just eating out is a totally different and far more enjoyable experience. i've been a city boy my whole life. city life has now turned omega man. fuck the FSA, they can have it. two americas it is, and i'm living in the wrong one. and whoever keeps red tagging every decent human on here, get a life, coward. if you don't like a post, bust it up. but page after page of one red arrow? tell john podesta we said hi.
Hey Starfcker...fuk yeah...cities will be a death trap. Im in Australia same shit differrent flavor. Boys Im picking 2016 like the dude above. We got two years to get our shit together
People aren't essentially good and experiment after experiment in human psychology shows that humans are entirely malleable by the conditions around them and will do deplorable things to one another with even the slightest encouragement or reinforcement. It is the outlier who is the person who adamantly refuses to do so and takes a stand on a moral principle.
People are anonyomous in rural areas and if you look at cities it is exactly because you have such a concentration of different types of people and occupatins that you have such diffuse ideas and knowledge transfers which can't be replicated even on line. At our core, humans are fundamentally highly complex and social creatures which was largely based on evolution.
We know we are going to be raped and pillaged..............just not when
We all know the maths do not stack well in our favour.
17T in debt divided by how many actually contributing???
It will not end well as many have said
look at the bail in laws being passed I think europe is late to this party and 2016 is thier date.............to me the shit will not hit the fan untill they all have thier ducks in a row.
so unlees europe brings the date forward..........2016 + is the date
They don't spend all thier time making bail in laws not to use them when needed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and they would not make thease laws if they where not needed
Thease are the clues to the timming
JMHO
On another note
If everybody..............and I mean everybody went on strike ie no work no pay.................government would fold first.
No pay no taxes for government.
The prep should be to survive for a month no one works..........gov would compleatly freek out
They would have no money coming in.............thier need is greater than ours.
of course will not happen...............but that would be the way..............
Starve the beast
last glass of wine then I am off for zeeeeeeeeeeeeds
As HHM said some great posts on this thread
god bless ZH
I was at a 7-11 tonight. This is a very busy 7-11 near Detroit, not a bad neighborhood. Its is usually packed. Tonight there was a sign on thier door " EBT NOT WORKING". I was the only person in the store. I sat and watched 4 cars come and go after reading the sign. The lottery is at 550 million and there wasnt any one buying tickets - there is usually a line when the jackpot gets high. All I can say is without the EBT card, that 7-11 would be hard pressed to stay in business. It will be a wild ride if (when) 2014 is worse.
Yes Sleepless knight
socialism is the only business going at the moment...........it cannot last
This guy's posts are the SAME freaking format. Find a popular topic that will cater to this target audience, write a couple of fluff paragraphs at the intro, create a top ten list or other random quotes that are arbitrarily thrown together as long as they make the point and contain something shocking, and finish it with a conclusion. Rinse, recycle, repeat.
What I am looking for is some interesting contrarian investor advice for 2014 on either a company, sector, currency, etc and some thoughts on why since I have some cash to play with even after buying 20 acres of farmland this year in PA. Thes kind of sophomorific posts are laughable especially since some of the semi-serious people including Kotlikoff, Shiller, Marks are thrown in with the 'Doom Loons' (Celente) or marketing spin guys who (Faber who is really smart but doesn't say shit outside of his newsletter except things suck and general trends)
Show me someones writing I will show you a formulae, even your whinging displays formulae. BTW where u bought land is too cold to hunker down in when the grid goes and your gas runs out. U shoulda gone South. Investment advice? Buy a chainsaw.
Really? People haved lived there since the 1740s quite fine without electricity or gas during the winter months and the climate is warming and going to get warmer. This place has 2 natural water resources running through it fed that run through limestone aquifiers.
Hey those same people are the people who are gunna fuk u over right? The rural undereducated selfish fukers. Man yr as slipperry as Barry
Not to forget what Ol Sir Paul Craig Roberts has to say. He even offers a simple solution.
Washington Drives the World Toward War:http://rinf.com/alt-news/editorials/washington-drives-the-world-toward-w...
Doesn't it feel good to read REAL news?
I went to the USA once for 3 months. Its not exceptional. But it is goverened by the most exceptional evil fukers around whose subtlety is not fooling people like it used to. That worries me most because they know people are waking up. There is plenty of evidence that are planning for the post collapse.
It is certainly more exceptional than WHEREVER you are from.
Oh dry, so clever, u r a wizard sir. Im from the antipodes (u prob need to google it) And damn near every US person I met wants here not the exceptionally controlled manipulated corrupt drug crime frenzied heading toward socialism fast bankrupted Mac World shit pit u poor bastards now live in. How the fuk did this happen when most of u r good people?. BTW FU
One day, some day, the 1st of 7 seals will be broken. That's the day it begins...famines, floods, earthquakes, pestilences, wars, death, and destruction. If you have no fear of death, then events can never overtake you.
CARPE DIEM fellow titanicans.
Yeah right sure. In another 10M years when human civilization is long forgotton and there is a new form of dominant life on this planet, this nonsense will be long forgotten. I really feel sorry who take anything in the Bible literally including the Book of Revelations.
Settle down simpleton. You're showing your ignorance.
Look fukers, you either believe in a higher power or not. If you dont your the die and turn into a worm sort. If your like that I respect your ability to ignore intuition and your right to be in denial. But if you belive in a higher power, (not religion per se FFS) then you should be able to hear the Universe saying, listen up Earth fukers, your finanicial system is FUBAR, your leaders are evil, its time prepare for deep shit. You know we need this. There is no other way to cleanse a totally corrupt selfish greedy system. There will be a trigger, it will cascade. There will be conflict. Some men may think they are in charge, those elite tossers, but they are just the puppets bad fukers playing the bad role. WE need this role to get this change roking. If you dont see the hand of a higher power and you still try to be a good person, I admire you. But I also pity you. Because you will be pushed into a challenging place with no solace. Then however you may find some answers
Oh the irony to be accused of ignorance by someone who believes literally in an oral history that wasn't written down until much later after its initial creation, whose origins are uncertain, and how message and its presentation have radically changed over time.
Thing that always bothers me about 'Christians' the most is the sheer and overwhelming ignorance about their own religion especially the Bible and its origins. There are tons of Christians who are so ignorant that they think the Book of Relevations is based on God's word, the word of Jesus, etc.
While I don't agree with Shaka's view of Revelation (no s on the end, btw), I'll bet that you consider yourself a reasonable person.
Did you know that reason presupposes order? The very words you speak require order.
And then, did you know that order presupposes governance?
And, did you know that governance presupposes authority?
Can you explain why it is that you are reasonable?
Just something for you to ponder, that's all.
Cheers.
The simplistic hubris and arrogance of man.
Dude with respect most Christains know fuk all about the end times. Christains have been duped. We are deep into those fukin prophecies right now. Ffs dont start me on the manipulation of Christianity. OK maybe a bit more. Dude when the shit goes down this decade pray hard from the heart.
Your nuts if you really believe that and you and other religious kooks are exactly the kind of people that frighten me the most if things became nearly as bad as you shill out. I respect the tenets of most major religions. Can't say I say the same about their organized religions and their historical record of 'practicing what they preach' though or very religious people of any religion tolerating anything that deviates from their prescribed narrow-spectrum of acceptable behavioral norms and beliefs.
mb, it doesn't have to be that literal. religions are just belief systems. we just happen to have the best one. do unto others as you would have them do unto you. brilliant. what part of thou shall not kill pisses you off? i don't spend any time wondering whether the whale swallowed jonah. but i like living around people who don't want to kill me. liberalism is a mental disorder. it's central tenant seems to be throwing away everthing we've learned over the centuries about living with each other and replacing it with...... nothing.
How do you know it is the best one? The tenets of the Ten Commandments are great and religion served as an organizing and unifying force for early societies beyond immediate familial and tribal loyalties.
How is liberalism a mental disorder? Frankly there is a ton of religious-based activities that if we just took away that religious aspects that would be rightly diagnosed as a mental disorder by a medical professional using the DSM-IV criteria.
My experience in life is that very religious people are generally (not always) bigots and control-freaks who seek to impose their morality and judgement upon others, are inflexible, and yet are unwilling to recognize or admit their owns flaws/sins.
you're talking to the right guy, MB. i will be glad to answer you. take the word religion and replace it with belief system. because that's all religion is. i know it's the best belief system because i'm always looking for a better one, and can't find one that's even close. if i find one i'll adapt, no sweat. not having a common belief system with my family and community means there is no such thing as family and community. those are things i value. i can state my belief system to you, you can look at it, and where it got society. liberalism is just a rejectionist religion. look what liberals tell you they value the most. homosexuality, blacks, climate change, letting criminals go, the tort bar, etc. and ask a lib where i can examine their value system. doesn't exist. i have to guess. it's whatever their emotions tell them at that moment. that's why young women and weak men tend to be lib. they are overwelmed by the strength of their emotions. at the end of the day somone has to shoot old yeller.
There always seems to be a lot of focus on the "end game", "stacking PMs", building bunkers, and essentially arriving at a scenario where there is total chaos and we live like back in the wild west or even stone age. I've tried to shift more towards looking not at the end of the world per se but the end of the current system. maybe I'm crazy but perhaps we can actually bring society forward by eliminating the primary problem.
everyone at ZH knows that mathematically there simply is no way all of the sovereign and financial debt could or would ever be paid off. we also know that even if we argue about the exact numbers this derivatives nuclear bomb is hovering over us as well. the problem is that humans are involved. i'm literally shocked that the zh communtiy is not more intrigued by the cryptocurrencies. something like bitcoin addresses every bitch and complaint you see all day here about Bernanke, JPM, the ECB, blah, blah, blah. maybe bitcoin ends up the winner and maybe it doesn't. either way, the only way to permanently solve the issues with sovereign backed currencies and a financial system controlled by politicians and banksters is to move to a currency and system that does not use these criminal cocksuckers. it just looks like people are too emotionally attached to gold/silver to shift from focusing on "the end of the world" to focusing on the new world and new financial system that revolves around a currency that can't be printed or manipulated.
I wish what you say could remain true, but these are the most evil motherfuckers ever. They would slit grandmas throat and nuke us all for profit. I do not see how BTC could remain immune to bankster meddling.
The ride will be bumpy for sure and believe me I am not the type to sit around and hold hands and sing christmas carols thinking we can have world peace and all that shit. But, the problem here is humans controlling both the currency and the rules and structure of the financial system. everyone buying and using bitcoin or the eventual winning crypto is a vote against the current system. is there a better idea that is peaceful?
I'm warming up to BTC, but it's mysterious origin and "Satoshi" perplex me. My gut says it's an end around for total digital currency and was created by the very people we hope to depose.
I can't rule that out. but even if "they" created it to suck everyone in . . . . . . . it will need to be a helluva lot bigger than $10B in value to function as a currency and way of tracking people (just think if "they" want it to be bigger than gold). so, why not enjoy the ride using it as a hedge. and if they track me i don't give a fuck because a) they already are in all likelihood, and b) i am not committing any crimes nor will I do so.
"I am not committing any crimes nor will I do so." .....They could make virtually anything a crime.
i suppose that is correct to an extent. but as I've stated before even if bitcoin is "schumered" in the U.S. or the U.S. attempts to Schumer it to protect the boys on wall street bitcoin could still flurish in many, many other places. frankly i just don't see how they could do that here in the U.S. if more and more consumers and businesses voluntarily agree to exchange goods/services for bitcoins or other cryptos.
i believe we will see confiscation of PMs and cash from registered accounts (brokerage, IRAs, pensions, savings, checkings) before an attempt to ban bitcoin which i do not feel would work anyways.
If bitcoin becomes a real threat they will kill it. These elite are bad ass mother fukers. But focussing on the economic aspect alone is like seeing only one slice of pizza. The entire pizza is the show. China / Russia. These two slices are moving up. They are steadily changing the game. This entire thing is like a huge movie building to its grand climax. We all know here the US dollar is FUBA, a dead currency walking. What will be the catalyst for collapse?
I have noticed ZH lately has more popup adds than they used to. Even on my smart phone small screen.

I'm always the ones that warns but never predicts, i like to look sane in front of the people i care about.
interest rates will stay low Japan style for the next 10+ years
We've jumped out of a highrise office window with a blindfold on. Problem is, we don't know which floor we were on. We'll splat all over the ground at some point, but when?
Any guess is as good as any other.
Countries around the world are taking on more debt without any fruitful attempts to curb their expenditures. This has resulted in a much more fragile and artificially held up financial system which is on a much shaky ground than it was in 2008. In 2008 companies failed due to excessive leverage and debt and now countries are likely to default because they took on the same bad debt on themselves.
There is no economic recovery because all the efforts of politicians, government, central banks etc are focused on saving banks instead of targeting job creation which is the only way economy can recover.
The weakness in the democratic process ensures the victory of the Wall Street over the Real Economy for the foreseeable future. Things are definitely going to get much much worse before they get better for the real economy i.e. for more than 90% of the population.

The elite debased their support now there is no one to protect them. YeeeeeeeHaaaaaa.
Cool... Just wondering how it's going to affect somebody like me with no debt and plenty of land that supports cattle / grows food when the Financial centers of the world implode.
Really not sure how the banksters going broke is such a bad thing for the majority in the long run.
Inner city Ghettos burn? So what?
Manhattan goes broke? So what?
The gloom and doom predictions for the upcoming year (pretty sure I've been hearing this every year for the past 5 years) are all great and good... but really now... it's not like it's NEVER happened before. You'd think that the world was going to end if a quadrillion or whatever in derivatives can't be paid with funny money.
Big deal... I'm not expecting any payments off of bloated debt (neither is 95% of the population) anyways and I'm certainly not going to care if the people who have to pay or don't get paid jump off of their towers and splat to the ground.
The producers are going to still produce and that's what matters.

Your spread will be the FIRST place any surviving urban masses go, looking for anything of value: food, water, weapons, medicine, young women.
That's the answer to "so what?"
Oh, and, your M1A won't be enough to save you, either.
