Camden, New Jersey: One Of Hundreds Of U.S. Cities That Are Turning Into Rotting, Decaying Hellholes

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Michael Snyder of The Economic Collapse blog,

All over America, formerly prosperous communities are being transformed into crime-infested wastelands of poverty and despair.  Of course the most famous example of this is Detroit.  At one time, Detroit was the greatest manufacturing city that the world had ever seen and it had the highest per capita income in the entire country.  But now it has become a rotting, decaying hellhole that the rest of the planet laughs at.  And of course Detroit is far from alone.  There are hundreds of other U.S. cities that are suffering a similar fate.  In this article, the focus is going to be on Camden, New Jersey, but the truth is that there are lots of other "Detroits" and "Camdens" all over the nation.  Jobs and businesses are leaving our cities at a staggering rate, and what is being left behind is poverty, crime and extreme desperation.

Earlier this month, Rolling Stone published an article that took a hard look at the nightmare conditions that exist in Camden.  A city that once made Campbell's soup and some of this nation's most famous warships is now a national disgrace.  The following are six of the best quotes out of that article...

-"In September, its last supermarket closed, and the city has been declared a "food desert" by the USDA. The place is literally dying, its population having plummeted from above 120,000 in the Fifties to less than 80,000 today."

-"Their home is a city with thousands of abandoned houses but no money to demolish them, leaving whole blocks full of Ninth Ward-style wreckage to gather waste and rats."

-"With legal business mostly gone, illegal business took hold. Those hundreds of industries have been replaced by about 175 open-air drug markets, through which some quarter of a billion dollars in dope moves every year."

-"On January 18th, 2011, the city laid off 168 of its 368 police officers, kicking off a dramatic, years-long, cops-versus-locals, house-to-house battle over a few square miles of North American territory that should have been national news, but has not been, likely because it took place in an isolated black and Hispanic ghost town."

-"After the 2011 layoffs, police went into almost total retreat. Drug dealers cheerfully gave interviews to local reporters while slinging in broad daylight."

-"The carnage left Camden's crime rate on par with places like Haiti after its 2010 earthquake, and with other infamous Third World hot spots, as police officials later noticed to their dismay when they studied U.N. statistics."

You can read the rest of the article right here.  But as bad as things have become in Camden, this should not be a surprise to most of you.  The reality is that this kind of rot and decay is happening in communities all over the United States.

Over in Detroit, crime has gotten so bad that even the police are telling people to "enter Detroit at your own risk".  When you call the police in Detroit it takes them an average of 58 minutes to respond, and more than 90 percent of the crimes committed in the city end up as unsolved mysteries.

At this point, 60 percent of all children in Detroit are living in poverty, and there are approximately 78,000 abandoned homes in the city.

For much more on all this, check out the statistics in this article, and you can find some great photos of the "ruins of Detroit" right here.

So why is all of this happening?

Well, there are lots of factors involved of course, but the biggest one is the lack of good jobs in these cities.

At one time, Detroit had the largest and most prosperous middle class in the entire nation.  But now those days are long gone.

And what is happening to Detroit is precisely what is happening to America as a whole.  Our good jobs are disappearing and the middle class is being systematically destroyed.

In order to have a middle class, you have got to have middle class jobs.

There is no way around that.

And right now, hordes of young people are graduating from college and discovering that the middle class jobs that they were promised simply are not there.

CNN recently profiled a 37-year-old college graduate named Bobby Bingham.  Because he cannot find a good job, he is forced to work four low paying jobs...

Bobby Bingham works four jobs in Kansas City, Missouri, yet he has very little to show for it.

Bingham is 37 years old and has a college degree, but like many Americans, is stuck working many hours in low wage, part-time jobs.

Each week, he works a total of about 60 hours in his jobs as a massage therapist, a waiter at a Mexican restaurant, a delivery man for sandwich chain Jimmy John's and a receptionist at his massage school.

Bingham makes approximately $400 a week, which works out to about $20,000 a year.  He has come to the conclusion that he may never be able to make enough to support a family...

"I've come to the point in my life where I wonder if I can ever support a family," he said. "I have no idea how that's ever going to logically happen."

That deeply saddened my heart when I read that.  Here is a young man that wants to get married, have a family and do all the right things, but the economy is so bad that he fears that this may never be possible for him.

As I have written about previously, the economic downturn that we are experiencing right now has hit men particularly hard.  The number of men in their prime working years that do not make enough money to support a family is rising with each passing year, and this is causing massive problems in this country.

And when our politicians proclaim that all we need is "more education", I feel like vomiting.  The U.S. population as a whole has more "education" today than it ever has had before.

If you think that "more education" is the answer, then check out the following excerpt from a recent interview with a law school graduate that is making about $40,000 a year and that has about $200,000 in law school debt...

Yes, it's extremely hard to get by. I can't afford rent or a car and can barely afford food. Anything extra like enjoying myself with friends, going to a movie, traveling, etc. — that's all out the window for the foreseeable future and possibly for the rest of my life thanks to law school. I live with my parents. I don't have a car. I don't go out to socialize. I don't date. I don't buy new clothes. I don't buy electronics. I don't buy much of anything. I spend my free time working other jobs to put more money toward my debt. I do contract work for other lawyers, but the pay is very low and payment is sporadic.

Why did this happen to him?  Well, the truth is that there are way, way too many law school graduates.  There are not nearly enough good jobs for all of them.  In fact, this particular law school graduate deeply regrets ever going to law school and considers it "an extraordinary waste of money"...

I consider law school a waste of my life and an extraordinary waste of money. I feel like I was duped and tricked. At the end of the day, it's my own fault for being a sucker and I learned an extremely hard lesson. Because I went to law school, I don't see myself having a family, earning a comfortable wage, or having an enjoyable lifestyle.

But at least he has a job.  There are millions of college graduates that do not.  And there are hundreds of thousands of other college graduates that are currently working as waiters and waitresses.  Large numbers are also working temp jobs or standing behind registers in retail stores.

Over the past decade, tens of thousands of businesses and millions of good jobs have left this country.  The quality of the jobs that remain continues to decline at a frightening pace, and most of the new jobs that are being "created" these days are part-time jobs.

But you won't hear the mainstream media or our most prominent politicians talk about these things much.  You won't hear them talk about the fact that median household income in the United States has fallen for five years in a row or about the fact that the rate of homeownership in the United States has fallen for eight years in a row.

The middle class is dying.

Wake up America.

And even as millions of our jobs have been shipped to the other side of the planet, some of the most prominent "American companies" have been bought up by foreigners.  The following list comes from a recent Economy In Crisis article...

-----

Here are some of America’s most famous brands currently held in foreign hands:

  • Budweiser, now owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev N.V., which is based in Leuven, Belgium
  • Alka-Seltzer, now owned by German company Bayer Schering Pharma AG
  • Ben & Jerrys, now owned by British-Dutch Unilever
  • AMC theaters, now owned by the Chinese
  • 7-Eleven, now owned by the Japanese company, Seven & I Holdings
  • Woman’s Day Magazine, now owned by the French company,  Hachette Filipacchi Médias, S.A
  • Purina, now owned by the Swiss company, Nestle
  • Gerber, now owned by the Swiss pharmaceutical giant, Novartis
  • Firestone, now owned by the Japanese Bridgestone Corporation
  • Citgo, now owned by the government of Venezuela
  • French’s Mustard, now owned by Reckitt Benckiser, a British conglomerate
  • Frigidaire, now owned by Sweden’s AB Electrolux
  • The Plaza Hotel in New York City, now owned by Israeli billionaire Yitzhak Tshuva’s El-Ad Group
  • Trader Joes, now owned by German billionaires Karl and Theo Albrecht
  • Dial soap, now owned by Henkel KGaA, based in Dusseldorf, Germany
  • Sunglass Hut, now owned by Italian eyewear seller Luxottica Group

-----

Are you starting to get the picture?

Our economic infrastructure is being absolutely gutted and more than 46 million Americans are now living in poverty.

And if you are waiting for the jokers in Washington D.C. to fix things, you are going to be waiting for a very, very long time.

Over the past several years, both the Democrats and the Republicans have proven again and again that they are basically completely and totally useless.  In fact, just about everything that they try to do actually makes our problems even worse.

In just a few days, Barack Obama leaves for a 17 day holiday vacation in Hawaii.  Many have criticized him and the members of Congress for taking so much time off, but perhaps that is the best thing that they can do at this point.  As long as they are away from Washington D.C., at least they won't be making things even worse for all the rest of us.

You'd have to wall off the television and the universities, which is where most of this destructive ideology is dispersed from.

$40K income and he can 'barely afford food'?

What kind of budget does this guy have with no rent, no car, and according to him, no life?

And he is apparently doing it wrong, or got his loans from the private banks, which was wrong and foolish.

The IBR program stipulates a payment system based on income and household size, but most people are too ignorant to know about it and just happily pay their way into financial hell.  Starve the fucking thing I say.  One way to get us to that great fiscal reset button is to default faster.  If all the kids suffering through outrageous payments would simply use the tools given to them the FEDGOV would be forced to come up with a solution.  And that solution will be another bailout, added to the already swaying house of cards.  Perhaps it could be that last joker in the deck that causes the whole thing to come crashing down.

Good eye - this certainly has nothing to do with the hollowing out of American industry - selling it off to Asia, nor the destruction of the Country by a small group of financial industry criminals who've bought the government and anything that might look like a regulatory body.  No, no, its really  a 'Red vs Blue' issue.  Things would be swell for everyone if the Republicans ran everything.

I really wasn't trying to get into the red team blue team thing. BTW they both suck.

But one team does seem to make consistent promises to certain groups, transferring the assets of the working to the non working.

Then those that work pack up and leave.

It's funny you say that, the dems steal from the middle, but only a portion of the cash seems to make it to the poor.  The repubs steal from the middle and hand it over to the banksters immediately.

Where are the hellholes coming from in America? From Congress.

“John Boehner, we don’t give a damn whether you like us or not,” said the host of the fastest growing talk show in America today, Mark Levin. “We don’t work for you, you work for us”.

And with Levin’s anger, he spoke for a growing number of Americans now attacking the Republican Establishment as well as the Democrats in this erosion of America’s economy and culture. And it is culture, concerning Boehner, because he’s clearly pushing conservative House Republicans out of the way to make way for the final windfall against America’s European white culture: amnesty.

Interesting how this fits in with the Left’s trashing of Megyn Kelly for suggesting that Santa Claus is white. Never mind that St. Nicholas was a Christian priest, a Caucasian born in 280 AD, in Patara, a city of Lycia, in Asia Minor.  For the Left it’s a hatred of whites and Christianity, hence the 1965 Immigration Act. For Boehner it’s his mistaken search for minority voters to help keep him Speaker. Never mind the destruction of the country.

Why? Because the U.S. Census Bureau has released a set of estimates showing that 50.4 percent of our nation's population younger than age 1 were minorities as of July 1, 2011. And that the U.S. population younger than age 5 was 49.7 percent minority in 2011, up from 49.0 percent in 2010. And because Boehner is a corporatist, a neo-statist working for the globalists, not for America's middle class.

And so, House Speaker Boehner is delegitimizing conservative Republicans, casting dispersions on men such as Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, trying to whip them in line because he needs their votes for his amnesty program. Never mind that high praise for Boehner’s trashing of Republicans came from Harry Reid (I think it was a breath of fresh air as far as I'm concerned), Nancy Pelosi (I’m encouraged) and Chris Matthews (I've been waiting for that Boehner for many years now, and I know we've all seen it now. That's the Boehner we've been rooting for, someone to be a leader).

And so, for rallying behind the effort to either defund Obamacare or shut down the federal government and for opposing the latest budget deal, Boehner lashed out at conservative House members:

"Frankly I think they're misleading their followers. I think they're pushing our members in places they don't want to be. And frankly I just think they've lost all credibility."

But, said Erick Erickson of RedState, “After the plan was publicly unveiled by the Republicans at six o’clock on a Tuesday night, conservative fears were realized. Those things they knew would be in the plan were, in fact, in the plan. The plan funded Obamacare. The plan raised taxes. The plan broke the sequestration spending limits that only a month before Republican leaders had said would never be broken.”

As Levin said, there are millions of us out here now, and we are going to be louder.

Those Americans who want to restore constitutional government and have a voice in this one-party government must defeat Boehner…and Mitch McConnell and other Establishment congressmen or it’s game over.

I loathe all the RINOs and Dems but Mark Levin was buddies with amnesty Rubio as was Hannity and Limbaugh.  I don't watch TV but after Rubio - I wrote off all three of their radio shows. I heard Levin was throwing softballs to Paul Ryan the other night too.

Glenn Beck, not perfect, but at least he has the anti amnesty heroes on his radio show like Sen. Jeff Sessions, Reps - Steve King, Louis Gohmert, Steve Stockman, Lou Barletta.

Thanks for the alert, Freddie. I, too, have had my problems with Levin, Limbaugh and Hannity, of course. And Rubio’s stand on immigration (Gang of 8, etc.) fairly well nullifies all of his other conservative principles; he can’t be trusted.

The Wayfarer Project on August 6, 2013, sees it your way, I found: conservatives are serious and don’t take well to pretense. Here’s what Wayfarer had to say (but you might want to give another listen to Levin, Freddie - lately he's been hitting our biggest problem, the bought Establishment Republicans - and he's out to defeat McConnell with everything he's got):

Mark Levin Sells-Out for his Buddy, Marco Rubio

Mark Levin is one of my inspirations in political philosophy. His understanding of the Constitution is solid and his desire for restoring liberty and rights for the individual in American society have always been rock solid… until now. He has long been a friend of Marco Rubio, yet, like many of us who are Constitutional Conservatives, Mark Levin did not agree with Marco Rubio’s decision to spearhead the Gang of 8?s Senate bill that provides amnesty to about 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States WITHOUT ANY GUARANTEE of border security to keep the problem from continuing into the future.

This bill, when actually read, does not provide any guarantee of border security, but immediate amnesty to illegal immigrants. It also provides a future permanence of illegal immigration in that all future visas, when over-stayed will not culminate in an illegal status. All people who overstay work visas will be granted a “pathway to citizenship.” The bill also allows for all judgments of border security to be made by the executive branch, so that Barack Obama’s open border policy can continue. There are no metrics or triggers as Marco Rubio had promised, and in some cases, still said were there! Mark Levin was one of the stalwart radio hosts that pointed these items out by reading them off to us over the air! …

Since Rubio succeeded in passing his amnesty bill in the Senate with a 100% support from all Senate Democrats, he has tried to avoid talking about it too much. … Mark Levin decided to help his buddy out by selling out his own principles and those of the Constitutional Conservatives he says that he stands for. He interviewed Marco Rubio on Monday evening in what can only be described as a “puff piece” to try and boost Marco Rubio’s credibility with Conservatives again.

Mark Levin started the interview by stating that he was not going to “talk about the I word” because he didn’t really feel like it. So, Levin ignored Marco Rubio’s all-out LIES about his Comprehensive Immigration bill that HE SPEARHEADED and just went straight to a puffy, jovial interview on obvious foreign policy concerns. Well Levin, I have lost A LOT OF RESPECT for you. Just ignoring the very obvious non-Conservative path that Marco Rubio had just been leading and the lies he spewed forth to us is absolutely hypocritical. ...

You people are intelligent, why do you need to listen to anyone on the radio.  Beck gets paid millions for his TV/radio programs.  Do you really think he's not owned?  You don't need a pied piper telling you what to think or giving you talking points.  Turn them off and be your own leader.

I get it and I get Operation Mockingbird. They are all owned.  There has to be a better way to get people focused and motivated.

The guy is another neocon when you tear off the constitutional conservative veneer he has on the outside. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

LOL. Santa Clause is the invention of the Coca Cola corporation. Saint Nicholas bears no resemblance to Santa Clause, and to suggest so is offensive. Santa Clause is whatever colour the marketing department of Coca Cola wants him to be.

If you want to restore constitutional government to your republic, you will first need to give up your global military dictatorship with which you plunder the resources of the developing world, and collect a Pax Americana on all oil sold.

The people who you rage against have been plundering, stealing, murdering and oppressing billions of people around the planet for your benefit for nearly 6 decades, and at the point of diminishing returns, they shifted their focus to the domestic population.

What do you mean by "turning into"? Camden has been a shit hole for at least the past 30 years. I know because I used to buy all of my drugs there when I used to do that shit. I lived in the nice, white, Middle Class suburbs about 5 miles away for about 30 years.

Funny too. The safest block in Camden was the block where the Wheels of Soul clubhouse was. It was an open clubhouse.

Not too long ago I was doing a job at the Camden Aquarium on the waterfront. It was about 2AM. I was standing outside catching a smoke and some old guy in a wheelchair rolled up and asked if he could suck my dick for $20. I shit you not.

I can tell you stories about Camden. Almost all of the cops are on the take. I've seen it happen in broad daylight on the set. Cops from suburbs even go there to buy their drugs. A cop from Brooklawn was arrested when state troopers were patrolling Camden.

My mother is about the biggest bleeding heart liberal you'll ever meet, and even she says they need to "drop a bomb on that place".

Those cities are also left with infrastructures that were built for much larger populations and that are costly to maintain.  That is not so easy to fix.

I'd call it true but I can't; I'm White.  You know what they call it when I get discriminated against?  'Reverse Racism'.  Um yeah, but hell no.  It's racism, period.  Racism in Drive, not Reverse.  I grew up in communities as a minority, got my ass beat, regularly.  So what did I do?  Befriended the biggest black kid in my classes.  Why?  Because I wasn't fucking stupid enough to think I had an even shot at getting through school in one piece without doing that.  I didn't use them, never had them kick somebody's ass, but I certainly welcomed their friendship because it saved me getting beat like a rented mule because I was White.  Now it's a lot harder to look at people without judging but the last 5 years or so has only made it all too clear that racism is alive and growing in this country, and those fostering it probably don't even think about the downside of their actions.  But if that pot ever boils, it will not be a good thing.

Yes I hear you but one person posting here narrowed Camden and Detroit down to three simple words - white people left.

And Detroit recently tried to blame their woes on white people leaving or white flight.  The idea was people need to be forced to stay and pay for liberalism.  Just like if you try to emigrate - you have to pay a hefty tax.

Riiiight.

The USA was built on the backs of immigrants and slaves, all managed by a bunch of entitled wonderbread fuckbags. Even if you choose to cast a blind eye to the slaves in the south, and the chinese laborers that built the railroads, you still have the pattern continuing today, in the form of psychopathic financial industry titans determined to repeat their mistakes from 2008 all over again.

If anything, all it proves is it takes more than a certain skin color to fuck things up - it takes career-minded obsession to nuke an entire nation via CDO's and shit mortgages, always chasing that profit margin while cackling about how they duped someone into buying their shit.

The real enemy here are those that value profit over everything else, but you're too blinded by your race-blame-game to see it.

I agree America is in decline, but there are plenty of reasons why, outside of race.

Race blame game? Go live in Detroit or Camden. If you're not willing to live there and pay heavy taxes to support the low IQ parasites that produce little more than crime and copies of themselves, then your statement is hypocritical at best.

Haiti and Tijuana aren't the way they are because of unrestrained capitalism, they are toilets because the majority non-whites are unproductive and lazy. We've poured billions into Haiti and it's still a toilet, and it will always be a toilet. Under French control 200 years ago, Haiti was the jewel of the Caribbean. 200 years after their "liberation", it is now a sewer.

Oh BTW I am not blind to those who put profit over everything else, but if I pointed out the major offenders in that arena, you'd call that racist too.

Oh I agree NihilistZero, and those collaborators should be dealt with for the treasonous filth they are. But know that it wasn't the white man who created the Marxist welfare state. A white man didn't write Das Kapital or the Communist Manefesto.

And it isn't my culture. My culture, the culture of my fathers, is built on creativity and industry. My ancestors came here and got nothing but an opportunity to survive. No benefits, no handouts, nothing.

The culture we suffer today is an ancient, alien, mercantile culture that has infected this nation like a disease. And like a disease unchecked, it is choking the life out of this country.

But it WAS a white man that created the welfare state (Bismark), wrote das kapital and the communist manifesto ( Marx, funded by bolshevik jews).

I have been reading this whole thread and I am amazed at the level of racial abuse, the blame games and the sheer monumantal blindness of the comments. Camden or Detroit are not tough to deduce, especially in light of the opinions expressed here. We want to blame the failures of society on some group or lack of values.

We are the creators, mentors and managers of our society. If the society is filled with failures, it is because we and othes that came before us allowed it. We have determined that wealth is for individuals and not the society, we have taught our sons and daughters to eschew those with nothing and focus on being connected to those with everything, and in the process, created a noble class.

It is the unholy elixer of government, law and money that has turned us into ravaging parasites, a cruel virus of pandemic proportions. There is clearly a group of people that have worked hard to create and manage this visceral hell, but WE HAD TO GO ALONG! We allowed social organization based on wealth, rather than utility. We allowed our education to be created by others. We accepted laws for laws sake, never questioning, never forsaking them.We took dirty money and gave up our gold, for the hope of leverage at the expense of someone else, always confident that we could cheat one another.

In our desperation to be one of "them", we sold out every one of our brothers and sisters. Then we created a list of "isms" to justify it.

Is it any wonder that shitholes exist? Did you think the Babylonians, Sumerians, Egyptians and Greeks created their glory without slaves? That the Catholic Church didn't develop its' wealth by trading heavenly favors for every persons' wages and savings? The wealth of America was found in the rape of its' resources and when we ran out, we went for everone elses, just as our European brethren had . The Chinese emperors worked their people to the point of revolutionn, REPEATEDLY. The Africans are nothing more than one series of savage brutalities after another. The Hispanics slaughter their families for the right of distribution.

This is what happens when you BREED labor, deplete RESOURCES and use law and coercion to eviscerate those that complain. We recall ancient documents and codes in some defense, but it is empty rhetoric meant to confuse and pander to our prejudice.

You and I have to power to effect change, but it will never come through THEIR devices. It will never be effected through elections or revolutions. It comes from personal action that refuses to ACCEPT their paradigm and abides in our own good common sense. Have we never had a friend from a different race? Or income class? Or social standing? Were they not people we cared for?

I have been on ZH a long time, but I am truly ashamed of the comments I have read today. If this is what we are, then we are the pollution, the crime, the hunger and disease that afflicts us.

But it WAS a white man that created the welfare state (Bismark), wrote das kapital and the communist manifesto ( Marx, funded by bolshevik jews).

I used the word "create" in a conceptual sense. Bismark didn't invent the idea of a welfare state, he applied Marxist ideas in order to reduce the mass appeal of the Social Democrats. He made a tactical decision in order to beat his opponents to it yes, but his foolish motives were politically motivated. As usual.

Now if you wish to attack the social columns of state capitalism, I'm open for discussion, because I find myself in agreement with your musings for the most part.

Have we never had a friend from a different race? Or income class? Or social standing? Were they not people we cared for?

I'll be honest with you, the violent and criminal mentalities in the inner regions of cities like Detroit and Camden don't belong among us, and they certainly shouldn't have any right to vote. They aren't my friends, coworkers, or neighbors (thank God). I don't give a damn about them except for the damage that they and their violent and primitive culture are doing to mine. They aren't going to change and it is criminal for anyone to force us to appease them, support them, breed them, and perpetuate them under the seriously flawed theory of egalitarian multiculturalism.

If they, as someone else has claimed, only wish to raise and provide for families, then they should be able to do it like my white fathers did. If they cannot do so without a constant crutch provided to them by the state at my expense, then they are nothing more than a drain on productive society and a glaring failure of the ridiculous panacea called "multiculturalism". Current welfare programs that encourage these people to breed is a crime against humanity.

Bear in mind that I am also aware of the role that Keynesian economics plays in producing even more welfare recipients as we have seen in recent years. This is certainly an issue that needs to be addressed along with the Marxist social welfare policies that encourage dependency and not productive citizens. Recall that the Communist Manifesto calls for a central bank and a graduated income tax. We have them, and not by accident.

But here is the bottom line: those who work and produce are quickly being overtaken by those who take and destroy. When we look at the makers and then look at the takers, it isn't hard to discern a glaring reality and it isn't hard to determine the fatal outcome based on the progress of cities like Detroit and Camden.

I have been on ZH a long time, but I am truly ashamed of the comments I have read today. If this is what we are, then we are the pollution, the crime, the hunger and disease that afflicts us.

These people aren't entirely to blame for the current condition. However, they are a festering symptom of the problem, and allowing them to participate in the democratic process is exascerbating it.

The article in question is urban blight. Are we to ignore a glaring reality of this subject because it may hurt some feelings and offend some sensibilities? Are we to deny that the democratic Marxist welfare state is taking us in the exact direction of communism as originally intended by it's founders? As was the case in Germany when Bismark foolishly set the same destination in motion?

If we cannot discuss these truths as adults, then your admonition is worthy of merit.

RE: Debt Slave

Well my ancestors were kidnapped and brought here as slaves.  But it didn't stop my grandfather from working hard, serving in the Marines and raising 7 children without gubment assistance.  Oh yeah, he also did this after surviving being chaesd down and shot repeatedly with pellet guns by white kids as a child.

All I'm saying is be careful with the broad brush.  While black welfare recipients are a greater percentage of their culture, the number of white trash members of the free shit army dwarfs them.  I'm sure you're smart enough to know that.

Wed, 12/18/2013 - 19:39 | 4259070 Debt Slave
Debt Slave's picture

This is the heart of the matter. Culture.

First, while there is a significant amount of white trash, it is a fact that they have less propensity for violence and criminal behavior per capita, as I am sure you are aware. They do not make up the majority of problems in cities like Camden. They are not the reason why people wouldn't dare walk down the street in broad daylight.

That said, the white trash portion of the FSA should be made to work if they are able or be cut off. If they do not ascribe to historic white culture of creative hard work and thrift, then they deserve no preference. This isn't a blame game as some have suggested. This is an honest assessment of culture.

Nature demands that we earn our way in this world or else we do not survive. When we feed and breed those who don't produce, we challenge Nature and always lose, as evidenced in cities like Camden.

Culture is unique to race. If you want to preserve a culture, you must preserve the man who creates the culture. The original question is and always has been, just which culture are we preserving? Is it the culture that built this nation, that of white European thrift and industry, or a non-European culture of mercantilism and Marxism, a culture which is destroying this nation?

This is where the honesty comes in, henceforth my comments that most Americans are unwilling to accept the truth.

BTW if you look back over all of my posts, you will note that I have not used the word "black" or "hispanic" even once. So broad is my brush that I don't have to. We all know the truth.

There is no such thing as race. Starting with a false premise, the rest of your post is wrong. Genetically the Masai and the Kalahari are as different as you and a Toutsi. The majority of slaves that were shipped to the New World were purchased as slaves from other Africans, who generally enslaved them when they defeated their tribe in battle. In other words, you purchased the losers. I don't see any descendents of the Masai wandering around Detroit.

Nice "pivot" to IQ instead. Okay Einstein, I'll up the ante and say that greed coupled with low intelligence creates a lot of problems, but how about you man up and admit that this crosses all lines, regardless of skin color - or else YOU'RE the hypocrite.

As for failed empire-building abroad, oh really? Maybe if the USA and other meddlers could leave shit alone they'd have a chance to sort shit out, instead of being fucked over for whatever declining natural resources are left, or exploitation of poor workers to ship shit back to empire-nations for pennies.

The sad fact is, instead of playing "World Police", most empire-nations would be better off trying to improve their situations in their own respective countries. But no, "external conflicts" are part of the large economic engine, so the USA and its ilk just CAN'T STOP.

Its fucking insane, and again it has nothing to do with fucking race.

Your sense of history and priorities during the building of the American nation are mistaken, of course.

But what’s more, they are dangerous…for it is this lack of understanding of the contributions made to Western Civilization by white European culture that has created the so-called diversity America and a multiculturalism that is rewarding the return to barbarism, the celebration of failure and issuing rewards for Third World ignorance and choice of failed values.

Your comments are dangerous because they are part of a movement to demonize whites in America and to raise up the counterculture that would erode what progress has been made and to convict the future to a Third World America.

Why would the white culture put up with its own destruction? There are many reasons, but California State University professor, Kevin MacDonald, offers one:

This tendency “really got out of hand with the rise of Jews in the post-WWII era whose intellectual, media and financial elite sought to pathologize white culture in the West and make whites into moral pariahs.”

It's called "pathological altruism."

great post JR. the aussies are way ahead of us on this one. the conclusion they are coming to is exactly the same one. white liberals have to be the most stupid, self loathing people on earth. why anyone would cheer on their own self destruction is unfathomable to me. i'm starting to think since liberalism replaces courage and acheivement with a smug sense of moral superiority, the sugar high of the civil rights era only allows them to view things through that lens, much as the republican party is stuck on stupid that cutting taxes is the answer to everything because it worked in the 80's. the full body rush they feel about a black president blinds them to judging his actions. most blacks see white liberals as useful fools. that said, you can't blame blacks for the ruin of american cities, sending their economic purpose to china is the culprit.

It's all part of the usual historical trend. Check out a book called 'Political Ponerology' which documents the same process behind the Iron Curtain. Getting the book 'out' is a story itself, but the jest of the trend or pattern of 'evil' moving in, setting up house, taking over and turning everything it touches to rot is the story of America and every state that gets infected with this virus of pathological society. Anyone remember how some of our founding fathers mentioned how their Masonic Lodges were being taken over back in the day? Depending upon conditions, this process can occur fast or slow. We are seeing the legacy of British imperialism that morphed into our American imperialism. The world is getting what the 'Indians', Mexicans, negroes etc have gotten since the beginning. Enjoy the ride to hell.

My former boss works in Camden (Cooper Hospital/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School clinical campus). After I left working for him at another hospital, he asked me the favor if I can help him move his medical equipment to his new office in Camden Hospital. I certainly obliged as I was getting well paid for it and it was only a few hours. I drove through Camden and I was terrified driving through Camden duringe the middle of the day on a Sunday and this was in the early 2000's when the police dept. was in full force.

It was eerily scary. I would NEVER go through that city again, even if I had protection from an elite military unit backed up with M1 Abrams.

No wonder there is clinical campus. Do you know just how incredible training resident/fellow phycisians (physicians in training) get from that place? Its like training in Cook County hospital-all the shootings, stabbings, drug overdose, chronic alcohol abuse/liver cirrhosis, etc.

Oh, and if any of you think I'm lying:

"On October 29, 2012, the FBI announced Camden was ranked first in violent crime per capita of cities with over 50,000 residents.[25] In 2008, Camden had the highest crime rate in the U.S. with 2,333 violent crimes per 100,000 people while the national average was 455 per 100,000.[26]"

It's only going to get worse, too.

"Full freedom of movement of persons and goods, the most comprehensive protection of the property and freedom of each individual, removal of all state compulsion in the school system, in short, the most exact and complete application of the ideas of 1789, are the prerequisites of peaceful conditions."

Family, like air travel, is a luxury.

Bobby Bingham can't make enough money to start a family? Well, cudos to him for actually understanding the situation as oppose to starting something he cannot afford, much like buying a house or a car one can't pay off.

When times are tough, that's what happens. When you aren't willing to relocate to places that have it better, you're stuck having it worse.

"Young people are graduating from college and discovering that the middle class jobs that they were promised simply are not there."

That's the problem. My blood starts to boil every time I hear the same sentence paraphrased.

Young people need to get it through their thick skulls: "In life there are no promises or guarantees of any kind!" You want a job, you get yourself a job. If what you want doesn't exist, you make it yourself!

Promises are what the governments give in order to promote reliance. They want to be the "mommy" figure. They wan't people to be grateful for providing things government didn't actually provide. They also want people to crawls and beg when self-realization options actually take a bit of effort.

Lack of jobs didn't destroy Detroit, the way it is portrayed here. What ruined Detroit was the reliance on government and the belief in empty promises.

Kids are screwed by the system, but more so, by their parents, whose job it was to teach them not to buy into myths pushed by politicians,  for profit colleges, unions and everyone with vested interest to screw the other guy over.

+100 Julia!  Well stated.

A kid living at home making 40k a year to start and he complains.  Guess what a lawyer usually has to prove his or hers worth before they start to actually make money.  Instead of complaining he should be thankful he has a parents that give a shit about him.  Instead he complains about it.  Almost every college grad realizes they are bottom feeders when they first start out in a given profession unless they are at the top of their class and have proven themselves before graduating.  Not to mention he went to college and took a major where there is a glut of qualified people.

Julia spot on corruption and freebies is killing cities across America and it will continue as more and more people especially single women realize it is easier to make a living doing nothing. The promises were not empty though, they were taken from the productive to give to the parasite class and the productive left.  This is happening more and more in many places leaving criminals and parasites to fend for themselves.  Couple that with very restrictive gun controls and you have a disaster.

Unlike the federal government, states, and cities cannot print money out of thin air.

Thie erosion will continue until it can't any longer.  Let the bankruptcy's continue and the criminals eat each other.  Coming to a local city near you.

It's worse than this; our future is being raped and destroyed for five generations out.

It's going to take 100 years to retool America into something even remotely self-supporting. And that process isn't even set to start for 30 years from now. Before any kind of progress can register we need 100 million people to die of old age or suicide before we've eaten a little ways into the current glut of Free Shit Army standard bearers.

Hot money that will never return to those shores. We can't print it, but we can sink it and once it is here it probably stays, because really soon the gears are just going to seize up and this shit show is going to fall into itself leaving nothing behind, and I mean god-damned nothing not even ruins.

"The middle class is dying.

Wake up America."

Wake up to what?

America has terminal illnesses, which would take prodigious miracles to recover from! Everyone needs money to live, but the money system itself is mad. The money system has become like a thoroughly metastasized cancer. Almost everything that almost everyone must care about is expressed through the money system controlling property, as access to goods and services. However, the money system itself is the runaway triumph of organized crime, which has created a fraudulent accounting system, in which the "success" of that financialization more and more totally dominates everything that money buys, such as food, and fuel, and every other thing that people need to live.

Wake up to what?

Wake up to more radical truths, such as that we are living in a Bizarro Mirror World, where everything has become presented in ways which are almost totally BACKWARDS? It is way, way too late to go back to what should have been, or could theoretically have been, IF organized crime had not succeeded in taking over the government, in order to legalize lies, and back those up with legalized violence. That has already happened, and therefore, almost everything that could have been robbed has already been robbed.

There is absolutely no doubt that "The middle class is dying." However, there are no good reasons to believe that they are going to "wake up" enough, because most of those who are exhorting them to "wake up" then recommend that the "solutions" are to go backwards, when the problems are already runaway avalanches. The middle classes were systematically reduced to mainstream morons, who were successfully brainwashed to believe in bullshit, and thus, given a false class consciousness. Indeed, the irony of the situation is that there is runaway class warfare in the USA, BUT only the ruling classes have fully known that, and were engaged in that warfare, while the vast majority of the middle classes were not aware of what was really happening, but rather, were conditioned by the mass media pumping out the best scientifically produced propaganda that endless money made out of nothing could buy. Unless there was a series of miracles, then what is surely going to happen is that the middle classes, and then much of the lower classes, are going to be mass murdered. The destruction of their economic conditions is probably merely the prelude to their much more real mass murder in the foreseeable future.

Of course, such events are going to more and more work their way down, through the destruction of the middle classes, to then drive down the lower classes even further. (One could say that this process was originally propelled by the assassination of crucial politicians in the past, which then paved the way for more and bigger murders in the future.) However, since the money system controls the access to resources, and it has already become almost inconceivably and completely crazy and corrupted, the middle classes in America are metaphorically suffering from brain cancers, as well as every other kind of cancer. At some point, there are no cures, other than to die of the disease. Other than a few fringe Web site articles, most of which are run by various kinds of reactionary revolutionaries, I do not see anything remotely close to "waking up" the middle classes in North America. Without some series of political miracles, then continuing to die, and be murdered, is what is going to happen to most of the middle classes in North America.

Spot on rant, radical marijuana!  The middle was too busy bending over backwards to be patriotic to realize the forefathers of this country's dream for them to have power as 'The People' has been squelched, torn asunder from their grip.  Only a few like yourself, myself, and others on message boards like these have woken up to the dire reality of this untenable, unsustainable situation.  Let the rich and powerful that gamed the system serve themselves once all the little folk have folded into that good night.  But don't dispair because there are always the glistening trichomes of cognitive counterbalance.
