Wow, this is straight up insane propaganda at the highest level. He is not even trying to hide the message. CNN’s Jake Tapper just comes out and says it:

I think the American people, honestly, want security over freedom.

Terry Holt casually mentions at the end of the discussion that without the CIA, we never would have found Bin Laden. What's left unspoken is the fact that there wouldn't have been a Bin Laden in the first place without the feverish work of the CIA throughout the 1980's. Only a government agency could take 30 years and god knows how much life, liberty, and money to *begin* curing a cancer they created to begin with.

Sometimes I get mixed up when shopping for 'produce'.. So, the 'illegals' are imported, but the 'useless lazies' are home-grown?  What about the 'immorals'--what percentage of those are home-grown or imported?

To be clear: I downvoted you for your referring to a person as 'an illegal'.  The expression is inhumane, but furthermore, it is an endorsement of the current corrupt system which makes people such.  The American economy depends on imported labor, and it is the folly of the establishment that so many are pushed into the black market.  Your military 'solution' to an economic problem of political origin is also rather repugnant.

Are you kidding.  Maybe you don't get out as much as you should.  People are majorly FUCKING PISSED!  I keep running into normal everyday people who start telling me there's going to be another civil war.  I was talking to a lady who was a crane operator a couple months ago who echoed this sentiment.  People are furious.  The news just doesn't carry it, doesn't talk about it or dare mention it, because right now, everybody thinks they're the only ones who think that way.  That couldn't be further from the truth. 

An Army ranger who was doing MMA fighting came up to me at a restaraunt after overhearing our conversation about how the government was becoming more fascist by the day.  He told me that he and former members of his unit had plans should things get sporty.  It happens all the time! 

We're not alone.  I would argue at least 30% of the population get's it.  That's a far cry more than would be necessary to make real change happen.  We're winning.  Get out and talk to people, help the ignorant ones to not be ignorant.

I know of a LOT of people who watch Fox.  They seem to hang on damn near everything anyone says on that channel looking for things to be outraged about.  Fox isn't a news outfit, it's the WWE of news.  They sell outrage and emotion.  And I have to say, they do a pretty good job.  I thought they were a fairly decent outfit until the initial shock wore off of 9/11 and the anti-war people started to get their act together.  Since then, Fox puts stuff up guaranteed to offend the "left" and get the "right" to beating their chests.  Both sides love to watch it, either to love it or hate it.  All they need is to sign Hulk Hogan and install a cage in their studio.

What I can't figure out is why Bill O'Reilly had such a long run.  The dude's a total blowhard with nothing much to say that hasn't been said to death in 14 other places.  Pretty much the same with Hannity.

It's been so long since I've watched anything on CNN that I really can't speak to their product anymore.  I stopped watching them when I saw that they had been shutting up about Saddam in order to secure "access".  Yawn.  Another tool network.  Nothing to see here, move along.

You can't trust local blogs in any given area of the world, but they're still your best source of international news unless you personally know someone there.

Our patriot ancestors would puke in disgust to see what their descendants have permitted to happen: a complete loss of liberty and a willingness to put up with any indignity (TSA searches, NSA spying, local police gone wild with SWAT use, etc). Yup I agree yet one more digital illiterate out there wanting some attention. I think it's more like this...consumers don't realive they are walking aorund this their digital fly open.  How many frigging consumers are concerned about their "persona" as MasterCard is marketing.  I haven't found one yet and that includes me and to even temp you more you can use their info graphic and enter some additional data for them to scrape as they entice you to beleive that you really need to know when of their 5 identified personas relates to you...a whole bunch of bullshit as you can enter what they call the "Engagement Bureau"...choke me with a spoon with this marketing to hide the new direction of their hired quants to produce those profit making math models...

Honestly I think Tapper is exactly right. Easily 90% of the poulation here in the US (and Europe, don't act like your governments haven't been spying you for decades... stop) will gladly give up their freedom for security. I don't see how this is even a debate at this point. Whether it's thru social media (voluntary), targeted marketing, the Patriot Act or the Prism program..... people don't give a shit (that is until the opposite party gets back in power of course). It personally bothers the shit out of me, but I'm in the minority clearly. Most people are FULLY aware of the shit that goes on and still they make no attempt to stop it (or even causually bitch about it). Junk Tapper all you want but he's stating the obvious.
