Opposition To Obamacare Soars To Record High

Tyler Durden's picture

Since the President's Obamacare legislation became law, it has never had such widespread opposition according to CNN's latest poll with 62% of those polled "opposed" the law and only 35% were in favor. Results also indicated most Americans predict their medical care costs will increase under the ironically-titled "Affordable Care Act". As UPI reports, "opposition to Obamacare rose 6 [percentage] points among women, from 54% in November to 60% now, while opinion of the new law remained virtually unchanged among men," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. "That's bad news for an administration that is reaching out to moms across the country in an effort to make Obamacare a success." Maybe Americans just need another day to decide?

Nope, Obombercare has a "bailout the insurers" clause hidden in the law.

They negotiated a no lose deal that hits the taxpayers with the bill.

Watch what happens by November when corporations drop healthcare for employees.

There are deep-in-the-weeds protections baked into the Affordable Care Act: risk adjustment, reinsurance, and risk corridors…

Risk corridors will play the biggest role if the individual mandate does get delayed. Their entire purpose is to stabilize premiums during the first three years of Obamacare, when it’s especially difficult for insurers to price plans.

Here’s how it works: exchange plans (QHPs) projected how much their risk pool would cost overall in 2014, their “target” cost. If they’ve significantly miscalculated—or, say, if a mandate delay causes adverse selection that they couldn’t have predicted—HHS will take action…

For the finance crowd: I believe the only publically traded firearm manufacturers left are RGR and SWHC. These will probably be the next big bubble, so pile on in while there's still room before the pop. Besides, I'm not satisfied with unloading my RGR after having only made an 80% return on it this year, so if someone would like to drive it a little higher for me that would be "much appreciated".

"Isn't Fascism GREAT?!"

"It can happen here, because there has been no change and there has been no progress and there has been no increase of understanding on the part of men for their fellow man. What worries me deeply, and I have seen it exemplified in this case, is that we in America are in great danger of slowly evolving into a proto-fascist state. It will be a different kind of fascist state from the one of the Germans evolved; theirs grew out of depression and promised bread and work, while ours, curiously enough, seems to be emerging from prosperity. But in the final analysis, it's based on power and on the inability to put human goals and human conscience above the dictates of the state. Its origins can be traced in the tremendous war machine we've built since 1945, the "military-industrial complex" that Eisenhower vainly warned us about, which now dominates every aspect of our life. The power of the states and Congress has gradually been abandoned to the Executive Department, because of war conditions; and we've seen the creation of an arrogant, swollen bureaucratic complex totally unfettered by the checks and balances of the Constitution. In a very real and terrifying sense, our Government is the CIA and the Pentagon, with Congress reduced to a debating society. Of course, you can't spot this trend to fascism by casually looking around. You can't look for such familiar signs as the swastika, because they won't be there. We won't build Dachaus and Auschwitzes; the clever manipulation of the mass media is creating a concentration camp of the mind that promises to be far more effective in keeping the populace in line. We're not going to wake up one morning and suddenly find ourselves in gray uniforms goose-stepping off to work. But this isn't the test. The test is: What happens to the individual who dissents? In Nazi Germany, he was physically destroyed; here, the process is more subtle, but the end results can be the same. I've learned enough about the machinations of the CIA in the past year to know that this is no longer the dreamworld America I once believed in. The imperatives of the population explosion, which almost inevitably will lessen our belief in the sanctity of the individual human life, combined with the awesome power of the CIA and the defense establishment, seem destined to seal the fate of the America I knew as a child and bring us into a new Orwellian world where the citizen exists for the state and where raw power justifies any and every immoral act. I've always had a kind of knee-jerk trust in my Government's basic integrity, whatever political blunders it may make. But I've come to realize that in Washington, deceiving and manipulating the public are viewed by some as the natural prerogatives of office. Huey Long once said, "Fascism will come to America in the name of anti-fascism." I'm afraid, based on my own experience, that fascism will come to America in the name of national security."

It will be called the "Emergency Care plan".  You sign up for 9.5% of your salary to be deducted for the rest of your life, and the Feds pay for "everything" (everything that the insurers think you need).  This plan will be offered when those who thought they were signed up for Obamacare go to the doctor or hospital and find that the premiums haven't been paid or paper work lost (see HAMP).

30 million uninsured has grown to 35 million when you count those that have lost their Private HC against the puny number that have signed up for 0zer0care. That 35 million number will more than double next year when 50 million people lose their Employer sponsored HC. When the 2014 election comes around it will be all about how 0zer0care has caused more people to be uninsured after the ACA went into effect than before. Plus those that have insurance yet, will be paying on average, about double the cost. The shitstorm that is going to hit next election is going to be epic.

Well, if your a fairly devout Christian, try a healthcare ministry. Basic rules: non smoker, never drink till drunk (that disqualifies most of us ), attend church on an average of 3 times monthly when you can.

Benefit: $45-$155  per month for $125,000 coverage, up to $1 million with additional charge, fully AMA compliant. One plan pays you directly after submission by you. the other two I found has the members send you checks or you designate your payment to an individual on a monthly newsletter, near as I can tell. It's not insurance, it is joining a benefit pool of sorts.

@ A Lunatic  I'm not here preaching the faith. I honestly don't give two shits who people wanna worship, excepting vile Muslims, who have no religion, but an ideology that is totalitarism based. Kinda like Obummer... Peeps can do what they want, I don't care. It's your life not mine. I'm just trying to give options to those that are positioned to take advantage of this, which I am not. The 3 times a month in church has to do with, I suspect, getting a signoff from a preacher that you deserve to be a part of the group. Kinda like payin union dues I suppose although no one ever brings that up with the vitriol that religion brings forth from the atheists. Personally, if it saves you lots of $ and you're willing, meh... Me, meh, not worth the trouble either way.

@ Freeeie  I pulled the plug long ago as I have better things to do than mind melt/waste time on Hollywood TV. I do get FTA (Free

Who needs death panels? Your Obamacare policy will cover a certain network of hospitals. They will be crappy regional hospitals*, that do not provide specialty care for dread diseases.  You get a dread disease. Well, there you go:  you get the regional hospital care treatment, and die.  No death panel needed.

*Well, to be honest the policy will likely cover one crappy regional hospital.

This will screw even the rich.  The specialty/research hospitals are going to go under, since they will not have enough clients to be a going concern:  they won't be getting insured patients, and rich cash patients are far too rare.

This news is big trouble for Obama$care.

The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world, for better or worse. Cynics and idealists both know this.

Impeach O'bomba is gathering mom-entum.

The two ardent liberals that I know best think that Obamacare is a terrible, awful disaster.  As a consequence, they want a single-payer plan, run by the federal government.  I try to point out to them that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BROUGHT THEM OBAMACARE.  This does not get through to them.  They are of the firm and absolute belief that the federal government should be in charge of health care.  Sometimes I think my brain will melt and trickle out of my ears.

Hopefully this court case can stick.  This law is just so unbelievably bad and not even what was passed.  Obama is just legislating by the seed of his pants with the law as his "guideline" by this point

Bullshit. Implement Obamacare, which is based on RomneyCare in Massachusetts (where how many people are complaining? none). After 3-5 years, evaluate how many USERS actually like Obamacare.

People on Wall Street, connected to the Rothchids, the Koch Brothers, the Walton families, to insurance companies, paid shills, investor analytist, and who have money sitting in offshore accounts should be identified as such and completely ignored.

Anybody care what Mitt Romney is doing for Christmas? no. RomneyCare is working as planned in Massachusetts, and that's all we need to know.

And it just keeps getting better: http://nypost.com/2013/12/25/new-obamacare-fees-coming-in-2014/

"The new taxes on one customer’s bill added up to $23.14 a month, or $277.68 annually, according to Kaiser Health News. It boosted the monthly premium from $322.26 to $345.40 for that individual.

The new taxes and fees include a 2 percent levy on every health plan, which is expected to net about $8 billion for the government in 2014 and increase to $14.3 billion in 2018."

Years ago Webster Tarpley (yes I know the guy is a socialist, but he's a smart motherfukcer) said that Obamacare as a single payer system is a lie and is nothing more than a bailout for the insurance companies on our dime. Tuned out to be true.

You can't utterly control and bankrupt a society until you control all the major fronts, right? Get people even more enslaved and indebted to the apparatus and the sheeple are skittering around the corral looking for a place to take a dump.

Christ on a goddamn pony, aside from a little holiday gluttony, I go way out of my way to stay clean and never nead this lethal shitstain of the mainstream medical system.

What and who are at fault for this mess beyond us?

Republicans, Democrats and especially the MSM.  No one has "read" the law completely and given us the consequences of it would be A, B, C.

Sure, there was the funny and ironic "we'll know what's in it after we pass it" but it seems no one bothered to do just that!
